MN Plumbing isn't what it used to be. High pressure sales tactics to make money. And was told half truths to scare me in to purchasing unnecessary service. Done with them!

Minnesota Plumbing and Heating did a great job for us and we will definitely use them again.

Josh is great. I have had him out twice. Once to fix an outdoor faucet which has had freezing issues - no more issues. The second time to do a water heater drain & flush. He explained the condition of our water. We decided to go with the electric anode rod so our water heater will last longer.

Work was done properly within reasonable time. Would use again

I called to get a quote of ballpark figure to remove/install 2 toilets. I was told they don't give quotes but will charge me $59.50 to come and look. While they would put that towards the bill, but what if they're quote is high like some of their reviews show. I find it hard to believe they can't give a ballpark figure on something that should be routine for a plumber. I feel like them coming out and charging $59.50 for something that would take 10 minutes is a way to extort business! I hung up on them!

Chad did a great job at our house with a variety of maintenance items including the installation of new sump pumps and a new water softener. He was friendly, attentive, and really cared that the job was done correctly. I will definitely recommend him and the whole company to friends.

Quick customer service on the phone and friendly knowledgeable in-home service. Will use them again for other issues. This one specifically was for an Aprilaire humidifier.

John H arrived on time, explained what was needed and then completed the work to my complete satisfaction. Would recommend him to anyone looking for professional plumbing work.

I had my water heater replaced by John H. He did a great job and provided me with several options from a basic band-aid approach to fixing my existing water heater to top of the line tank-less and everything in-between.

Excellent service and contact from start to finish, went above and beyond and had me fixed up with new furnace on less then 24 hours, techs where polite and informative and office helped me out quickly with a separate issue

I was very pleased with the work that Minnesota Plumbing and Heating did for me. They were easy to work with, did not leave a mess after installation and the price was reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

John H. was on time and did a wonderful job explaining to a non-plumber why my faucet was leaking, which is no small task. Then, he walked me through some repair options in plain language and patiently answered all my questions. As he worked he even took the time to show me his cool new battery operated pipe cutter.

When he finished the work, he wasn't willing to say he was done until he'd satisfied me that the leak had stopped. That's an experience you don't find often!

You'd be miles ahead by hiring Minnesota Plumbing and Heating for any of your plumbing needs. If you say pretty please, they might even send John H.

I'm not going to blast this business with a rotten review written out of anger as I've used them previously, successfully. I'm with Suzie on this one that left a review 9 months ago. Like her, I had spent hours with my wife, who is South for the winter, on selecting a replacement faucet for our kitchen. It is the only one that we wanted installed and had it available at the sink, and they knew this when I ordered the service. Install only. The tech comes out and firmly asserts that I have 4 options. He wouldn't hear of just doing what I ordered, just install. The first one was 2400 to replace the garbage disposal and all the valves Etc. My beef is this: I should have been told that the tech was going to look at everything under that sink and give me this line of options. I work and was not there. Not fair. My second beef is that he tried to sell me a Moen with the second and third option. How in the world would he know what we would want, and beyond that, our selection was right in front of him. That's ridiculous. I did take him up on changing a couple of shut off valves assuming he was correct in doing this on a prevention basis.
My last observation was the CSI call the next day which could have been a total plus but after my answer that I was happy with the install I was asked to rate the service from 1-10 and I'm sure there were 5-10 questions after that.
My advice is this: If you want to survey me, ask me if I have time. Please don't assume that we all love surveys. I'm survey weary. A lot could have been done better here. They are a good business, but this part needs a tune up.

I have had them service my house twice now and haven't had a single good experience.

The first time I wasn't given a single quote and then was charged hundreds more than I was expecting to pay for a simple expansion tank replacement on my boiler furnace.

The second time the plumber took 5 hours to replace my water heater and I was charge $200 over the quoted price. This was after I had to go through multiple emails of sending them photos and measurements, all while waiting a week without hot water. On top of that when the plumber soldered the pipes he mentioned There might be some soldering residue in the pipes. Just run the water till it comes out clear and you should be fine. Thanks to the small of amount of residue both my bathroom shower and sink faucet were clogged. What kind of plumber doesn't make sure the water works back to normal, hot and clear before leaving the house? Absolutely annoying that after paying hundreds over the quoted price I still had to go in and unclog the mess their plumber left in my pipes.

Edit: Minnesota Plumbing and Heating reached out to me and talked through the problems and issues I had with their service. Although I still originally had a negative experience, I was impressed that they took the time to correct the issues I had with my experience and act on my feedback.

I had them install my flowtech and carbon filter and it works great and I had a great experience with everyone involved. And the system installed works great. I will actually drink my tap water now that my water is clean and purified. I will be recommending them to everyone

Scheduled an appointment and they never showed up. Rescheduled for the next day and they never showed up but they gave me a heads up they would be here the next day. Still never showed up and haven't heard a peep from them since.

Highly recommend Minnesota Plumbing and Heating! Great customer service, quick, efficient, respectful, reliable, ethical work. Dave was personable, low pressure but informative when we had to make decisions . He showed detail oriented, solid work in replacing our water heater. This company was easy to work with throughout the entire process. Office staff were helpful and efficient. Love the communication process this company uses to keep us updated with timelines etc. Our favorite: the text messages ahead of time with info complete with picture of the professional coming to our home, which left us not only informed but also feeling more secure in knowing we were allowing a safe person into our home! In the end, Dave left our home clean as if he was never here. Overall a great experience.

I have always had great service and customer care dealing with MN plumbing and heating, both at my business and home. Paul is a wealth of knowledge, and helps find the best service at the right value. I would recommend these guys to anyone. Todd C

Great experience with getting our furnace fixed. They were very responsive when scheduling an appointment. I used their online appointment tool and received a call within minutes to confirm an available time slot. When the technician was on his way the next day, I received a text (and email) including his name and picture. He greeted me and was very upfront and honest about the inspection and repair process. He quickly identified the issue and came up with an estimate to fix the problem at hand as well as few estimates including other optional service and replacement options for other components as well. He was very clear about which component was the root cause and needed fixing and which other components were aging and could use replacement as well but were optional. I opted for just replacing the broken component and was not met with a poor attitude or pushy sales tactics about my choice. The repair was done shortly after reviewing the estimate and our furnace was back in action. One other thing I really liked was their entire estimate and billing process is done electronically on a tablet. After paying I immediately received an email with a copy of my invoice and the original estimates. Very polite and straight forward process overall, would definitely call them again.

Ok, I'll break this review in three parts. Service description, Service Quality, and Pricing.

Description:
Technician replaced pvc pipes under the kitchen sink.

Service Quality:
The Technician (Josh) arrived on time, we went through the issue description and he described very clearly what needed to be done. Long story short, he said I needed to install new pvc pipes. He completed his work in a very fast manner, and everything worked as expected.

Pricing:
Here's where I think Minnesota Plumbing and Heating has a LOT TO IMPROVE! Josh showed me a first quote of 800 dlls for replacing the pvc pipes (I have pictures, so you can see that I'm not crazy and that this is way overpriced). I said Wow, 800 dlls, I can't afford that. He suggested that I talk to his supervisor (Andy), which I did. Andy used the typical World class service blah blah blah speech and said that the best he could do was to charge me 650 instead of 800 dlls (as if he was doing me a favor). I said ok (I'm new to the area and I don't know anything about service prices). It wasn't until Josh had left when I checked with friends, family and other sources - they all agreed that their service was way overpriced.

It took Josh exactly 1 hour to complete the work (I documented everything). 1 hour to replace 20 dll pipes and they charged 650 dlls. I don't know where they get their prices, or how they do their market research but that's insanely above market price.

Recommendation: simple, if you are looking for a plumbing service with honest fair prices and don't want to feel abused, please keep looking. I bet there are way more affordable and more customer oriented companies out here in MN.

First of all, everything is very professional. I understand why some people give them high reviews. My problem is not with that. However, their prices are staggering. I was given an estimate of $2500 for a part of my job. The two other estimates both came in at $800 for the same thing. On 2 leaking valves, I was quoted $800-900. These were fixed on another estimate when he simply tightened the nut for me. Free of charge. Finally, the free quote I was told that I was getting was taken back when I didn't commit to them doing the work. They charged me $50 for the free estimate. Very dishonest. Again, very professional operation but be prepared to pay, at minimum, triple what you will be paying elsewhere

After 14 years, I had to have my water heater replaced. Upon discussion with the salesperson/tech, Jeff, we agreed that a tankless water heater was the best option for my family of 4. Not only from an always available hot water standpoint, but that I will see a reduction in my gas bill because my water heater will only run when I need it too.

The two person team (Jeff and Carlos) came to my house and installed the new water heater within a couple of hours. They were kind, NEAT, and very professional. I have dealt with many repair/service companies over the years, and these guys were outstanding. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for great service.

I am excited to report after only a couple days of having the tankless water heater, my life has changed. I was able to wash dishes in my dishwasher, do two loads of laundry, shower one kid and give a long bath to the other, AND take a long HOT bath for myself all within hours. It was worth the investment.

John H did a great job! Everything appears to be in working order and no more leaks (fixed four while he was here). It was very quick and easy. Might not have been the cheapest option (didn't have others come give estimates), but worth every penny.

Disappointed. I needed a new water heater. They would not give any sort of ballpark on expected cost for the installation over the phone. I had to pay for them to send a guy to give me an estimate. I felt he was more of a sales guy than anything. They quoted three levels of installation in good-better-best tiers. Their cheapest water heater package was 20% more than the other company I had gotten a quote from and their top tier that they suggested was around two times the cost. My main take away was make sure you quote multiple companies.

Overall very positive. Very knowledgeable and reasonable pricing.

I had several alarms beeping in my house. We called Minnesota Plumbing and Heating, they were super helpful, and it turned out it was our carbon monoxide alarm. They walked us through exactly what we needed to do. Their staff is really friendly and we'll use them again in the future.

I was cutting some recessed lighting into the living room ceiling and accidentally found some radiant heat water lines! The leak needed to be fixed right away and H2C was on site within 2 hours. I really appreciate the prompt professional service from your company and will refer you guys out.

We called MN Plumbing and Heating for a short term need and they were responsive and sent John out who was fantastic. He explained what NEEDED to be done as well as some items he would recommend to do in the future. Didn't feel like he was pulling the wool over our eyes and we greatly appreciated that. We will be doing business with them again in the future if we need.

I had a great experience working with MN Plumbing and Heating. I first had them out to fix some plumbing issues on two of my sinks---switching from flexible piping to regular piping. The plumber was on time and taught me tips and tricks throughout the process. Later in the week I had my furnace inspected and an estimate given on a new furnace. Scheduling was easy, the guys were prompt, and the installation went smoothly. No complaints! Would definitely use them again.

Excellent service

I manage a 64 unit, 8 building townhome complex where we recently had a commercial water heater fail. It was on a Friday. I contacted this company due to their proximity to the complex. At mid day they sent a tech out to inspect the unit. By 5 pm they had a new water heater on deck and a plan to return in the early morning for a full replacement, which was completed by ten AM. I couldn't recommend this company more highly.

They came in under budget on our bathroom remodel. The plumber was very timely and meticulous. Very efficient! Would recommend their services to anyone.

Minnesota Plumbing and Heating was great! They had an appointment available quickly which was awesome. I was notified when the technician was on his way to my home. I received a photo of the technician as well as some history about him which was greatly appreciated. Sometimes it can be a little nerve-racking to have strangers come into your home. John arrived and walked me through what the issues were as well as other information about appliances in my home that I had questions about. He took care of the issue and made sure everything was working properly before leaving as well as go over again everything he fixed. He made sure I didn't have any questions. I really appreciated his attention to detail and willingness to explain to me what I had questions about. I would call this company again for any repairs needed in the future.

Minnesota Plumbing and Heating rates 'excellent' from the first moment I talked with them. Before the visit when I called - they took some time to consult with me over the phone concerning the options I had concerning problems (good advice). During the visit the plumber answered my questions and showed me a few details about self-fixing a few details in the future. Prices were very reasonable. I would use them again!

I cannot say enough about the service we received from John and Minnesota Plumbing and Heating. He came out at the time specified, diagnosed the problem immediately, and within a couple of hours we had a new water heater with hot water a short 30 minutes later. Everything was taken care of right on site. John was personable and professional. It's easy to see why he's been doing this for over twenty-four years. Thank you John and MN Plumbing and Heating!

John did a great job fixing several problems I had been procrastinating about for way too long. Thanks John!

I would never use them again and would not recommend them. The price they charge is ridicules, they charge about $400 an hour for my crude easement and charge you just to come out. I would avoid them if you don't want to pay really high prices. They replaced two needle valves on the outside of the house and took the tech about an hour to do to the work $536. But I will say the tech was very polite and courteous and did a good job.

My wife hired a leaky kitchen faucet repair while I was undergoing medical treatments. A recirculation valve was mistakenly removed on the initial install and required a second trip to replace. With a total approaching $1000, we will not be able to afford to hire their services in the future.

My son and daughter-in-law live in Chaska. I wanted to surprise them with a new kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. I called MN Plumbing to get an idea of what it would cost to install these two items. Everything needed was there - all I wanted was the installation. (A week before I had a new faucet installed in my home near Red Wing, MN and it had cost me $45). I was told that MN Plumbing could not give me a price over the phone eventhough these are standard plumbing services. Against my better judgement, I had them come out. The fee to come out was just pennies short of $60. When the plumber arrived (a very nice man), he started to determine the cost to swap out the kitchen faucet. When he wrote down $438 just for the faucet I nearly had a stroke. I told him he could stop right there because I was not going to pay that. To do the faucet and garbage disposal would have been nearly $700. My hometown plumber had told me it should not be more than $150. I was outraged and felt taken advantage of big time. I called the office and they did waive the $60 fee however this type of business tactic feels like a bait and switch. I was able to contract the work through Home Depot for a total of $268. I understand this is a trend in the Chaska area but it is a terrible business model. Bad for the company and bad for the customer.

Prices are crazy high for plumbing. Call elsewhere.

Friends, charging a “flat rate” and not disclosing costs is shady business.

We were charged over $600 for an hour and a half of work. The piece that was replaced was a ball valve. My wife was flustered and paid them. I called for an itemized listing of parts and labor. The response I received was condescending and evasive. I talked with 2 separate people and they stated “It’s standard business practice. We charge a flat rate.” When I kept asking them to tell me the cost of the part they avoided and said their supervisor would call me...that was over a week ago.

Since then, I called another professional plumber and asked for a blind bid. He quoted me $350 for the job.

If you want to be condescended and charged double, this is the company for you!

We've used MN Plumbing & Heating for years, and John H has been out to our house multiple times - outstanding service every time.

Came and gave an estimate for work to be performed. Were on time and cordial. However, their estimate came with a sales pitch for their membership that seemed a bit like a scam, and then the actual quote came in at 5X their nearest competitor. We paid their fee for the estimate and wished them well. I'm not saying they do bad work, I'm just saying that I'm not going to pay 5X more for the same work.

Minnesota plumbing and heating was the most efficient and enjoyable experience I've ever had in regards to plumbing.

Our plumbing expert John explained to me in detail which steps were being taken and why throughout the entire process. He helped educate me on the basics of my immediate concern, and took the time to review and inform me and any other plumbing concerns he could find in our home.

Upon completion of this process I was then given multiple solutions with no pressure to select any particular one. John was professional, family friendly, and simply a joy to work with.

Update 04/18 - While I continue to use MN P&H (HOMEWORKS), and still highly recommend their services, I do wish to inform you that their prices can be high. While some may argue you get what you pay for, I feel it is best to forewarn those who may be more price conscious.

We loved all of the work Dave from MN Plumbing and Heating did for our bathroom renovation. Dave was always on time and worked quickly to get his part of the project completed. I would highly recommend MN Plumbing and Heating for your next project!

Dean came out, evaluated the problem, spent time explaining what needed to be done now and what could wait. He took the time to go back to get the necessary repair supplies and returned to fix everything. We have recently moved and found that many services come out, say they weren't scheduled for the amount of time it would take to handle the problem, and make us make another appointment - we've been waiting for a cable install for a month now! Dean was great! He took the time, handled all issues, and explained everything. Highly recommended!

I had them put in a new AC, a new furnace, and a new water heater in my home in Eden Prairie. MN Plumbing and Heating technicians are professional and reliable. Their services are top-notch and they perform quality work. I am very happy on that front. That said, their prices seem higher than competitors and higher than my comparative analyses done via google. I had second thought after scheduling my installation appointment and wanted to do additional research to make sure I don't overpay and feel comfortable with my purchase. They did the best to be accommodating and I appreciate the customer service and professionalism. They were responsive and helpful. I would suggest doing your research thoroughly before you make an expensive decision like this one so you could feel good about your purchase. Bottom line, I am happy with this company and would use them again for other services.

There are not enough good things I can say about this company and their technicians. My technician, Gary, was probably one of the nicest guys I've ever met. On top of the fact that he was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. From the moment I called them to the minute he left, I felt like I was in good hands. I've already recommended them to someone else (and this was before I even got my invoice). I admire the fact that they were upfront and honest about their prices and schedules, I did call a few other companies and when they wouldn't tell me what they charged I was skeptical. Minnesota Plumbing and Heating was the exact opposite; not only were the upfront about their costs, but Gary went out of his way to explain all of the services he performed before he left. Thank you, I will be calling you again!!

They are a buttoned-up professional group! On-time, under-budget, far beyond any expectations we had.

Systems for confirming, reminding and notifying us that our tech tech was entrusted (complete with a photo and a mini-resume) was very impressive.

Our 13 year old water heater went out. We called MN Plumbing and Heating the next morning and they were able to dispatch a plumber out that afternoon. They were able to replace our water heater that same day. I felt the price for the work once all said and done was a little high. Had it been something we could have gone without for a few days, we would have shopped around and perhaps would have saved some money. However, the work was quickly and the plumber was very professional. Besides the price, we are very satisfied with this company.

The technician arrived on time and sent a short profile ahead with a picture so I knew who to expect. He thoroughly explained the process for the estimate of work, explained the list of options with costs. No pressure was put on to pick any option over another. The work was performed quickly and efficiently. I was very pleased and would recommend them for any plumbing & heating needs.

I called to ask if someone could come out and look at a Kenmoore water softener that put out hard water periodically and randomly. The person who booked the appointment for me said that their plumbers were very familiar with that appliance and would be able to help. The plumber showed up 30 minutes after the 2 hour appointment window I was given and said that he didn't know what he was there to look at. I showed him the softener and explained the problem. He stated that I should call the 800 number on the softener and that he didn't know anything about the system and that he wasn't sure why he was sent to my house. The only redeeming part about the experience was that he didn't charge me the $59 visit fee. Nobody followed up with me at all after he left.

Best Iv'e ever used, very professional and great service. Their pricing is straight forward compared to other companies. Don’t even try anyone else!

We had them come out to fix a weeping copper pipe, and the plumber was friendly, quick, and answered all my questions (including one unrelated to the specific job at hand).

They saved me from possibly flooding our basement. Thankfully replaced our old water heater in time with a new tankless system. Loved the professionalism and quality work.

Took a Friday afternoon off to be home for the appointment. They called late to reschedule for Monday. Then they wanted $500 to replace a single shut off valve that was easily accessible. Had to pay $50 for the estimate and I sent them away. Find another plumber!

I have used Minnesota Plumbing and Heating for over 20 years and they have always been prompt, timely, courteous, and fixed the problem to our satisfaction. We have used them for our furnace, AC, sinks, and bath room needs. David S. is the best man around.

We had MN Plumbing and Heating out to our home to fix a leaky shower a couple of years ago. The price was reasonable, and the service was excellent so we didn't hesitate to call them again last week when we needed a leaky pipe fixed in our basement. This was a completely different experience. We were told it would be $50 (non-refundable) to come to our home to get an estimate, but we didn't think that would be a problem with our great experience with them in the past. This time, after looking at the problem I was told it would be $614 to fix. I asked why it was so much, and the technician said they are under new ownership (a member of the Genz Ryan Family), and This is the boss's price. Plus everything is expensive these days. It needed a 1 inch ball valve, and apparently they are very expensive. I asked him how long it would take to fix, and he said about an hour. If I didn't agree to the price right then, I would be out $50 and have no idea how much another company would charge. Plus we needed the problem taken care of so I agreed to have it done. We also couldn't get a straight answer from the company when we called to ask the price of the part, just that they had my signature so I agreed to the price, which I find very unprofessional and condescending. I should be able to know what I'm paying for. I have a bad taste in my mouth from this experience this time, and can't help but feeling ripped off. They did get the job done, but due to the cost instead of being the first ones we call next time, they will be the last.

The rep that came to the house was friendly at first, until it came time to make a decision on weather or not I was going to use their service. He was extremely impatient and pressured me to make a quick decision. He quoted $3500 for a new water heater + installation.
The rep took advantage of the fact that I am a woman and younger and don’t know everything about water heaters. He recommended a water heater that is way too big for the house and tried to get me to replace a perfectly fine water softener. He only offered one option for a replacement and didn’t mention other sizes or models that would be more efficient for the house.
Once the project was started the lead guy left without saying anything and left two people, that he had told me were in training, behind to finish the install.
My basement floor is painted with cement paint and after the installation was complete the guys left the floor all scratched and scuffed up. There were muddy prints on the floor, doors and woodwork. The final invoice made it seem like they are trying to hide something. It listed the water heater + install but only gave a final total. It didn’t list how much of the total was allocated for labor and how much was allocated for the price of the water heater.
My husband called the manager after all was said and done to ask some questions and get clarification on some things. The manager was very apologetic about the carelessness of the employees and removed a small portion from the final bill. He also said that there is absolutely no reason that the house we live in should need such a large water heater and apologized that the rep made that recommendation.
Even with the apology and the small reparation I was left with a bitter feeling about this company and would not use them again.

Absolutely loved the service. Other plumbing services were quoting at least double the price with 2 days wait time. Minnesota Plumbing and Heating sent out someone within 2 hours and did the job for half the price. I definitely recommend them and will be using their services for future plumbing needs

Great service fixing a leaky shower. On time (early actually) and took the time to look at the rest of the utilities.

I agree with most of the comments on the over charged for the work from MN Plumbing and Heating. I'd similar experienced, which a leak on one of the bathroom copper pipe that requires attention. Then contacted MPH for the first time. Jeff was the tech who turned up the next morning. He had suggested I'll need the copper pipe replaced to fix the problem, since he'd noticed the main water valve was shut off at that time. Then, he shows me the quote $741 price tag. He then further explained the complications of the work to be done, which kind of a sales tactic in my opinion. Due to zero knowledge in plumbing and was presented with not much of an option, I agreed to proceed. By the way, I was even more surprised when the job was completed in an hour.

All said and done I'd shared my experienced with friends and through asking around all of them concluded that I'd over paid for the service.

I am changing the review to 4 after received a follow up call from Bob at MPH office, which we both workout through the situation with the payment disagreement. I would have gave it a 5, if the service guy could have worked with me on an agreeable payment term.

I was initially unhappy with my service from Minnesota Pluming and Heating. But after discussing the issues I had with them, they when above and beyond to correct everything appropriately and promptly. Other businesses could learn a lesson in customer service from them. Excellent.
