Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Todd was professional and walked me through our plumbing issue. He was able to address the concern but unfortunately it was not completely resolved so I had to call and he quickly returned with a new pump and replaced it along with optimizing some of the pvc piping. Everything works great again. Will definitely use them again.

Their customer support was fantastic and the Plumber who came to my house was very courteous and knowledgeable. With that said, their prices are extremely high. Wanted to charge me $100 for a replacement ring for my toilet flange (part costs $4 at Home Depot) and $700 for a job that took another plumber about 20 minutes to complete. My advice: call your local Plumber for service.

I can’t say if Rotorrooter is the most economical, because we have never used anyone else. But I do have to say they are reliable and quick. We have used them for sewer backup due to roots and the technicians have always done a good job and given advise on ways to slow the growth on your own. This time they filmed for free. They finally realized they will sell more services if they don’t charge for the video that shows what is needed! As far as timing, on a Sunday evening I entered a request for service on Monday between 8 and 12. Just after 8 am they called and said a tech could be there in 30 minutes. He came did his thing and the camera man was there before 11 am.

We had a wonderful experience with our tech Andrew. Having someone so thorough, honest and professional has literally turned a negative situation (our utility room floor drain was clogged) into a very positive experience. He took his time to explain how he was going to work on the problem, gave us great advice and was a pleasure to have in our house. I wish all the techs we hired throughout our home remodel process were just 1% as professional and effective as Andrew was. Very good service. Jake did a very nice and clean job on changing the drain pipe. He only cut the sheetrock big enough to get the pipe out and put the new one in. I did not have a big mess to clean up. I’m very pleased with the service. Would definitely refer to others.

Called and tech was over within the 2 hr window, Mike listen to and explained a few scenarios of what might be wrong. After flushing toilet he determined plug line wasn’t a bigger issue. Mike did his work, very friendly and professional, made the rest of the night better after unclogging drain.

I called for a floor drain cleanout and they had a technician out to me within 1 hour, and it was not even an emergency. The technician's name was Brian and he was very courteous very informative and did a great job. He cleaned up after himself and left me feeling great about the work he did.

We needed both a plumber and a drain cleaner for our service call which I asked the receptionist about right away and she assured me that the plumber would be able to take care of both tasks.So first the plumber comes and assesses our leaking sink and garbage disposal. He tells me about a simple fix that I could do on my own. He didn't charge for the call or recommendation which I was very impressed with... The fix didn't work however and I am needed to call a plumber yet again.Then I made another call to get a drain cleaner out there the same day, because apparently plumbers don't do that job. The response time was pretty good and the job was done promptly to unclog a different lagging drain that was getting backed up for $319... I was definitely not expecting that service to cost so much as I have had this same service in the past for less.On top of all of this I still need a plumber for this issue!!!!!!! I will not be calling this company again.

There was a time when Roto-Rooter was not considered an honest and trustworthy company. This has most definitely changed. John was professional, skilled and friendly. Got the job done throughly and quickly. Cleaned up afterwards.It’s not the cheapest option in town but if you want some at your house immediately who you can count on to get the job done right, these guys are a great bet.

Great service. Called Monday night, Derek showed up Tuesday morning. He was clear straght forward and competent. He resolve our clogg with a smile and got us flowing again. Andrew clean out sewer line in a efficient and professional way

Called at 10pm for a basement floor drain backing up. Was given a 2-hour wait estimate. Dispatcher called back to let me know there may be a slight delay. The tech was still out at our residence by the end of the original 2-hour window; I really appreciated the thoroughness of their communication and keeping me posted of changes. The tech was professional and quickly unclogged our floor drain.

I received amazing and prompt service for my emergency plumbing call! I had a plumber at my house within a half an hour of my original call. Toilet was so backed up it would not plunge for me and I had sewage backing up into bathtub and shower in a separate bathroom.Andrew (#2766) was extremely thorough in diagnosing the issue. He removed toilet and snaked out pipe -revealing and resolving issue. I appreciate his shoe covers and floor tarp protection that he used when moving toilet. Andrew explained everything and showed me where the issues were. He told me how to prevent future problems and things to watch for.Andrew called in Brian ( #1326) from their restoration team to check for water in my main floor ceiling. We had heard dripping and I was concerned about water damage. Brian was here within 20 minutes. No charge for this assessment service! Again, good information and explanation! My experience went well - as far as the repair person was able to go. We had the main drain cleaned but the repairman was only able to use his 1 1/2 blade out to the street. His 3 blade was unable to pass a certain point. He scheduled a camera person to come and that person found root obstructions in the line so your work could not be guaranteed without major work being undertaken.

My kitchen sink was slowly draining not allowing water to drain and finally stopped altogether.Luke #3657 called to let me know he was on his way and would be at our home in 45 minutes and he arrived as promised. I explained to Luke what was the problem. Before starting Luke explained the paper work asking me to sign the documentation. He also, explained the process and how the work was going to be completed.He then completed and inspection under the sink and went to our lower level of my home checking out PVC pipe. Once that was completed he gathered his clean out snake and said it would take approx. 15-30 minutes for the work to be completed. Christmas Day our kitchen sink clogged after dinner. All the dishes were piled up on the kitchen so I went online to see if I could get an appt. I was hopeful we would get someone to come the next day. I received an email from Roto-Rooter that my time slot was 9:00 - 11:00 am the next day. I was happy I was in the queue. The next day arrived and I received multiple courtesy calls letting me know that things were very busy and that they will call to update us on the technician probably after lunch. I was now worried that we were not going to have a technician come out that day. Roto-Rooter continued to update us. About 3:00 pm a technician came and quickly set up his machine. He carefully fed the lead into the pipe and about 15 ft in the machine hit the clog and continued to grind away for he said about 10 inches. We went downstairs to feel where the lead was and it was already down to the main discharge pipe about 25 feet from the kitchen. He cleaned and described the pricing policy in more detail and the guarantee. I thought the service was exceptional!!!

Our technician, John, arrived on time, was professional, asked good questions, and quoted the job before he started. He worked quickly and finished the job, did great clean up, and offered a suggestion about how to avoid the problem in the future. I was a good experience.

I had two plumbing problems and both were fixed so the service was successful. Total time took about 20 min. The serviceman talked on the phone with a co worker for about half of the time he was working. Cost for the service was $480 which seemed quite high for the time required for the repairs. So, pleased with results and efficiency but unhappy with the cost.

Our tech arrived to install a garbage disposal, but upon inspection explained why it couldn’t be completed. He was thorough in explaining the older plumbing problems and what/how much it would take to fix it. Downgrade a couple stars because no one could give me an estimate on the service price until a tech came out (which was $69 for a tech to come out). When the tech came out, he quoted $765 for standard disposal install (what??). This price excluded any additional work, it was just for hooking up a disposal and walking away.

thankful he was able to quickly help us solve our drainage issue!

We had our main pipe back up that runs out to the street. We called Roto-Rooter and explained the situation to them. They said they would send a tech out as soon as they could. The tech arrived within a couple hours; Brian #936 was courteous and professional. He used some large equipment to first try and remove the clog. After successfully breaking up the blockage he ran the line through a couple more times to clean out the pipes. All in all, a good service.

Anytime someone has come out they do a really great job and very thorough. This happens when I make appointments through mpls-st paul plumbing. Anytime I've actually called Roto-Rooter directly to reschedule or I have an issue it seems that no one ever gets back to me or no one picks up the phone. When one of the techs do call they don't leave a voicemail (or at least not right away) and this makes it hard for me to get back to them because I get lots of spam calls every day.

We called Roto-Rooter @ 0630 today for a clogged main sewer line. They called to let me know the tech was on the way and had a tech here by 0930. Fred (Tech # 4155) was friendly and very professional in appearance and demeanor. He worked to clear tree roots from the main line and checked other lines also. I was able to use an online coupon and saved $50. Fred explained his work and left no trace that he had even been here. Great service, no mess to clean up, and a reasonable price. From the time I placed the service call to the time the plumbers arrived was under 45 minutes. Brian listened to my concerns with a blocked toilet in the addition to our home, and asked more questions to fully understand my issues. He gave me a full outline of solutions starting with the easiest and most likely problem, but also was very clear that he was unable to know how expensive the work could be.Brian worked quickly to get my toilet running again, and it ended up being a tougher issue than first expected and I was prepared for that due to his diagnostic explanations.I would not hesitate to recommend RotoRooter, and I would certainly request Brian (tech 936) to come again if I needed anything in the future.

In my experience with plumbing services you need to wait more than a week to get a tech out to your house. Then, the tech is clearly not out for your best interest but rather to make the job as lucrative as possible. This is not the case with Rotorooter.I had a plumber (Dave K) at my house within 3 days. He was extremely punctual and called ahead so I had time to get home from work. Once there, he very quickly was able to diagnose the issue and how best to solve it. He also made sure to go the route that cost me the least amount of money. He worked well with the city worker to have my main water back on within 30 minutes while he finished the job. He was polite, quick, and respectful of my house (carpet, clean up afterwards, etc.). He even offered to set up a fan to dry up some excess water left behind. Great experience!

These guys are fantastic. We had an independent contractor come out at first, who charged us $70 to plunge the shower and claim it was fixed. Two days later, our downstairs toilet flooded with sewage. We called this same person back, he came again and spent 3 hours trying to unclog the main line, then claimed it wasn't fixable. We called Rotorooter, they came within 2 hours, got us cleaned out and set up a camera technician to come out and inspect the line. Technician came out the following day. Fast, reliable, and competent.

Update: Bill called us about the poor experience, we appreciated the follow up and openness to improve and look into the issues we had. We also are getting refunded on a charge that seemed unnecessary, and he confirmed it wasn't supposed to have happened. We appreciate the customer service following up, overall that aspect is a high point for the company.We are still upset that we almost paid $10 grand to fix something that wasn't even an issue.Update 2: we found more damage to other flooring and missed water damage from the tear-out. Got pressed to send payment before the claim check processed. $5,600 for tear out that cost us extra to repair collateral that wasn't even water damaged. Knocking this back down a star.

Our main line had been backing up and eventually came to the point where it would not flow at all. Roto-Rooter was quick to get to my home the very next day. They gave me a time window and had actually showed up early while I was on my way home from school. My girlfriend handled the exchange and the serviceman was out the door by the time I got home (about 15 minutes). They gave me a 6 month guarantee and the drains have been flowing freely since. I should have called them before I wasted $60 in Complete Clog Drain cleaner.

Just had Tim clear out my backing up basement floor drain. Tim was friendly, competent, to the point. Got it cleaned out in about 30-40 minutes, and was here when he said he would be. He cleaned up the area when he was done, so I didn’t have a big mess when he left, which was nice. 6 month guarantee means I’m not worried about recurring problems. The cost was about what we expected. But I’m running dishwasher & washing machine again with no problems, so I’m happy as can be.

Seems to be a yearly event to have my basement drain back up mid-December (I have a tree over my very old sewer line). Even though a technician that was scheduled to come out yesterday between 4:30-6:30 never came, the dispatcher kept me updated about ETA, because they were very busy, it got to be too late (we have young babies that were going to bed) so I re-scheduled for today and the technician came right around the scheduled time. This is my second time using Roto-Rooter and I was not disappointed. The tech, Steve, was sent out the same day I called and he got right to work. He showed me the problem, we talked about some things I could do to prevent it from recurring, he fixed the problem, and we settled the bill, all in under 90 minutes! No pressure sales for other work or scare tactics to get me to pay for something else to be done. Steve is a super professional and customer-oriented tech. Roto-Rooter will have my business every time I have plumbing needs (which hopefully won't be too often!)

With great patience and skill they worked their way through a series of rusty valves, leaky pipes, and leaky faucets to repair our plumbing! They were very conscientious. Roto-Rooter worked for two days and many hours to get my drains running again. Derek went above and beyond to try to open the drains, working for hours, but they were frozen. He scheduled the steamer for us and they took care of us the next day. I would highly recommend using this company for any drain issues you have.

Andrew did a great job! I had a bad clog in the sewer line, space was tight with poor access but Andrew got in there and cleared it up. The service is not cheap but well worth it in this situation.

I was very pleased to find their website to be quite easy to use. I subsequently received an email, almost immediately, confirming my request for service, on the date and at the time I had indicated. Not to mention that I was delighted to discover that the was no extra charge for a weekend service call. The technician arrived on time, promptly assessed the situation, told me what the cost would be, and then went right to work. Forty five minutes later, the work was finished. Why, he didn't even leave so much as a footprint in my house, despite having to trudge through the aftermath of a six inch snowfall. He used used booties to cover his shoes! He was courteous and polite throughout. A wonderful experience!

Andrew Tech No. 2766 came out in the evening to fix a pesky drain and he did an awesome job for me. He also updated a few small connections and took out chrome pieces that were corroded which fixed a small leak. If you have a drain that you constantly have to plunge or pour drain cleaner down give him a call and get it taken care of once and for all. I have spent hours over the past year keeping that drain barely running since all of my laundry and my utility sink run through it. I called roto router at 5:30 pm and he was here and done at 7:45 pm. He's a really nice guy and very professional. It was so easy and the only regret I have is that I waited until today to do it.

I woke up to a backed up basement floor drain, and called Roto-Rooter. They quickly found someone to come to my house, and started working late morning/early afternoon. I cannot speak for all of the plumbers/drain technicians, but Aaron (employee 221) was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and very respectful. Not only did he quickly solve my problem, he also provided me with numerous preventative tips to help avoid costly plumbing issues in the future. I also appreciate how transparent he was with respect to pricing, so I never felt like I would be ripped off, or pay more than the market price.

Had Roto-Rooter out today to fix three problems. I placed the call for service around 7:30 am and they were at my house by 10am. Very fast and efficient service. They were able to fix all three of my clogged drain problems. Service technician was very pleasant and efficient and spent time explaining the problems to me. Hopefully I won't need their services for a long time but if I did I would give Roto-Rooter another call. Thanks!!

Overall, the service tech Andrew was great, 5 stars for him. Reviewed the evidence, determined the issue (main line backup/clog) and proposed solution, had everything ready to act, resolved the issue in 40mins or so, tested it and confirmed.Roto-Rooter as a company claiming 24/7 is pretty misleading... yes, they'll take your call 24/7, but we called with water in the basement at 9:30p on a Thursday night and then had to wait until 8:30am for a call back from dispatch with an ETA for our tech. If we had a real emergency, like burst pipe or water actively filling... they are more 16/7 it seems like, and nothing was done overnight. Pretty misleading. Took off a star on that basis.Otherwise, the service call ins were answered quickly, the two different reps I spoke with were friendly and helpful, and overall it was a good experience.Importantly, our alternative was DIY, which was $90 rental, + driving there to get it if they had it 30mins away, then return it later, then the time to learn how to use it, perform the task, and clean-up, which seemed reasonable for Roto-Rooter to do all that piece for the $250~ difference. That made the decision easier.

I called roto rooter when my sewer line backed up into my basement. I spoke to a very nice woman who assured she me she could get a plumber out to me that morning. After am hour or so she called back to let me know that her plumbers in the area were finishing up with other jobs and she would call back soon with an update when she had someone on their way (I thought this was really considerate, the dispatcher did not just take my call and forget about me but checked back in when she couldn't get so!some out immediately).When the plumber, Al, showed up he was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained what he was going to do and gave me a cost estimate and then got right to work on the backed up drain. When I have someone at my house doing work like this I'll usually watch them work and ask questions, I just like to understand how things on my house work (and I might need to fix something my self). Al answered all my questions, I gathered that he's been doing this awhile and it's always nice to get info from a veteran who knows what he's talking about.After about an hour and a half of work Al managed to knock out the problem (tree roots) and he even helped me get started on the cleanup while he was packing up his gear. The whole operation ended up costing exactly the amount he'd first quotes me. Positive experience, wouldn't hesitate to call roto rooter again.

He listened to the past history on the plumbing issues (We’ve used a snake successfully for 34 yrs until last June when we first called Roto Rooter due to water backup in basement shower and bathroom which has never happened) Andrew immediately checked the backflow valve area in the basement floor. Carpet was carefully cut around area and gate broken problem was clearly evident. This was our third visit - June- September and today. This was the first time we had Andrew.

The service technician (Derek) was great. He was prompt and did the job quickly. He seemed comfortable with me watching over his shoulder, and was courteous and pleasant in answering the questions I had.Only two comments - price is high ($319) although they do guarantee their work; they will come back if clogs reappear within six months of the original work. Also, there was some confusion about when they would come out, although I certainly don't fault the technician for that.Originally the window was 6-10pm, then it was within the hour, then it was we're behind and will send someone to you within the next hour or two. The dispatcher kept me posted, calling me every 30 minutes, even when he could only say it would be a little longer. (Very impressed with that.)The tech did show up when the dispatcher said he would. He (Derek) gave me instructions on how to avoid/prevent clogs in the future. He sold me a large jug of green-friendly drain cleanser for maintaining the health of my pipes. Warning - the jug cost $60. I didn't take the time to research other products, I just wanted to be done with the job.All in all, very satisfied with the job.

We had our dish washer backing up into the sinks and flooding the kitchen. Tried to do it myself, but sadly my drain snake wasn’t long enough. Called Roto to get it done as it had been back up for a week already. They were able to send a plumber out that Memorial Day in 3 hours! Richard came out and was very knowledgeable, thorough, and very patient and friendly with my questions. Finding the weirdness in the plumbing along with getting out the clogs and getting everything running smooth. Additionally, he was able to recommend future repairs needed with solid explanations for his recommendations. Me being a mechanic for Lexus and now BMW, I know a thing or two, I like to think, about fixing problems, but know when I don’t have proper equipment for the job (25 ft snake vs the 60 ft high powered drain snake he came equipped with). Richard was a guy I could tell had solid experience and knowledge built up from his time in the field.

I live in Plymouth and while the plumber who showed up to help me with my problems was an hour past the 3 hour time window I was very pleased at how helpful and courteous he was. The price was in line with what I had expected and the time it took to complete the task was quicker. First time user I would say I liked it, 4 stars.

We were very pleased with the job Tech #4155 did at my mother in law's house. It's an older home and this was an ongoing problem. The tech found the problem and stuck with it until it was solved. Also, he was able to get to the home less than 45 minutes after we called for the service. He left the job sight neat and clean too ! We had some flooding in our laundry room in our new home and didn't know what might be causing the back up. Roto-Rooter was able to come the same day we called and even in a snow storm. The guy was able to figure out within a matter of minutes that our main sewer line was backed up and helped us figure out an alternative way to clean out drain when there was no visible clean out pipe opening in the basement. He was in and out in a couple hrs and was able to clear pipe. So grateful we can do our laundry again without any more water build up and damage! Thank you!

The repairman was here on time, fixed the issue and set up an appointment to have someone come out and put a camera in the line to see what caused the sewer line to plug.

At about 8pm we found that the toilet, shower, and laundry drain were kicking out dirty water. I called Roto Rooter and they clearly communicated how quickly they could send someone out. Within an hour or so, Mike was at our door and he went to work. He was very friendly and clearly told us his plans to solve the problem. Turns out the clog wasn’t at the typical spot in the main line, so Mike then explored other areas and found the root of the problem. He really went above and beyond. If we’d ever have an issue like this again, I hope Mike gets the assignment!

Woke up to standing water in my lower level laundry room and family room at 7 am. Made an appointment for 8-10 am on their web application. Within minutes, received a text confirming the appointment. Next, received a message that Andrew was on the way. Andrew took a look at the situation, reviewed my file for past work and quickly got the job underway. By 10 am, order was restored. Efficient appointment process. And excellent customer care and professional services by Andrew. Does not get better than this.

After my toddler tested our toilet and the toilet lost we used roto-rooter to help us find the missing items. They are here within the hour and really took his time we ultimately found two items that toddler flushed!

Unforeseen home issues are never fun, especially when it comes to plumbing. Roto Rooter expedited our issue and had a plumber out within 48 hours. Josh did a fantastic job of assessing our situation and uncovering an even larger problem with our main line. Without Josh's attentiveness the symptoms would've persisted. It was a unique problem and he went above and beyond to schedule a followup assessment a week later. The cadence and service were top notch, I highly recommend.

Upon calling, the receptionist was polite and I was able to book a technician in a couple minutes. The technician (Wayne) was at my house about 2 hours after placing the initial call. Im giving 5 stars for the technician that came out to my house, his name was NIKOLA. He was great very professional. But $437 for a drain cleaning is steep.

Roto Rooter came out within an hour of my call. Andrew provided excellent service and answered all my questions!

The tech. did a great job. He was polite, wore booties on his shoes to keep our floors clean. He explained what he was going to do and how much it was going to cost before he started the work. He completed the work in about 45 mins and now our sink is draining great. The communication before the service tech. arrived was below average. The day he was scheduled to come it had snowed. Like most service companies they gave me a window of time when the tech would arrive, I received no updates and had to call them 4 times to get updates. He finally arrived 1 hour past the time window. I expect them to keep me posted not me calling them.

$400 to change a fitting and a single pipe on my stove that costs $30. Terribly overpriced and can't avoid the visit charge of $69 either. This is daylight robbery. Work was professional but I would advice you to shop around. I also took the day off to have a person visit in the morning from 9am to 12pm but they showed up at 130pm after repeated calls to their dispatch. If you overcharge your customers at least arrive promptly.Edit: I changed the rating since the manager called me and clarified that the hourly rate is $350 and that with parts the fair price that was quoted would be comparable.- They also offered a voucher to compensate me for the late dispatch so I appreciate the prompt customer service.Edit 2: That was a lofty promise, don't tell your customers you'll mail them a coupon to keep them happy but renege on your promiseEdit 3: there was a prompt call after my second edit and disbursement of the coupon, and the manager took care of it quickly. Incidentally my sewage got backed up so was able to schedule again with them.

I had a great experience with the two technicians that came to my home. Fred (tech #4155) and the other person arrived at the beginning of the window of time the dispatcher said they would. They quickly assessed the situation with my main house drain, and began to clear the line right away. Once I was shown the details of their initial work, they told me they were going to clear it again with a wider blade. They took their time to go the job right, and kept me in the loop at every step. Would recommend them and would totally use them again.

Seriously AWESOME. I had been dealing with a severely clogged kitchen sink for several days (it started on Thanksgiving). I called them around 1pm the Sunday following Thanksgiving and the plumber was here by 3:30pm. He was in and out in about an hour and a half and everything is working great now. He was super knowledgeable, incredibly nice and very patient listening to and answering all of my questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

When we realized we had a blockage in our main plumbing line I was worried I might have to wait for a weekday to get it unclogged. I called the phone number from their website and was so happy to get a real person not a robot. She was polite and answered all my questions setting up an appt and giving me an email confirmation. Brian arrived even before the appt time and since we couldn’t run any water we were delighted with that. He explained what could be wrong and also went over what to expect. We appreciated his expertise and information. He took care of the issue and gave us helpful tips so we could avoid this type of emergency in the future. We did buy the enzyme based drain cleaner, I didn’t know a non-acid option existed. Very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone.

We had Clint come today and find out what was causing our plumbing problem. He outlined simply what the costs would be and and left it up to me whether I wanted to proceed. He was very courteous all the while he was here and tackled the problem right away. Within an hour, he was done and I am one happy customer!!

Outrageously expensive. I haven’t had a job since covid and when I needed repair I turned to a handy man who did more damage than anything so I called Roto Rooter. Your service is great and the plumber was wonderful but you 100% take advantage of people in need and at the worst possible time. Probably won’t be able to make my house payment now this month since what you charged me was almost a month of my mortgage. $900 to instal two valves in less than an hour. And that’s after he gave me a $250 “discount” That’s just crazy.

The technicians were amazing and fixed the leak. When it came to getting the pipe fixed, they have it scheduled and I'm excited for the expected great work. The only complaint is the pricing. It seems pretty steep, but they have you cornered once you call because they know you need them. Definitely would use again for clogs, but would shop around for repair next time.

They were very prompt and professional. From the time I called I was asked great questions to make sure they could solve my problem the right way the first time. My service tech Brian #936 was very upfront about cost and possible scenarios that could arise as he got into the work. I call at 11:00am and they had Brian to my house by 1:00. Very knowledgeable and curtious. I would recommend them to anyone. He even went above and beyond to make sure he totally resolved the problem. By just checking the main as well. Just a great company with great employees.

A second Tech came with a camera and showed me a clear view of the entire line. They explained how they could put a lining in to eliminate the tree root problem for good. Sadly, I live on a corner lot with a lot of trees with roots that like to find there way into my main drain. I very much recommend using a local company rather than Roto-Rooter. I needed a fix on an easily-accessed, exposed pipe in our basement that had a slow leak. Since I couldn't reach anyone local (it was a weekend) I had Roto-Rooter come out. Not knowing much about plumbing, I was surprised at the quote but thought it must be a job that will take a long time and require expensive copper parts! Well, the plumber was in his van for 15 minutes getting the parts (who knows) and then in our basement for about 10 minutes. Done! We were charged $685, and the receipt wasn't even itemized; no break-down for parts, labor, anything. (See photos.) This seemed very unprofessional and is probably due to the fact they can't justify the cost. $685 for 10-15 minutes of work and parts that cost around $20 (as someone later told me). I felt this is a racket that takes advantage of homeowners who are not knowledgable about plumbing. Next time I will wait until Monday to contact a local company!

We had a problem with an outdoor spigot on our mobile home. It happened on a Saturday, so I called Roto-Rooter to set an appointment. I made sure to tell them it was for our mobile home, as it can make a difference I'm finding out. I explained what the issue was-no water pressure in outdoor spigot line. They set an appointment for Monday between 4pm-8pm. I got a call on Monday from RR saying they actually don't DO service from 4-8 after all and that we needed to reschedule. We rescheduled for Tuesday between 1pm-4pm. My husband had to take PTO to wait at home for the plumber. The plumber showed up about 2:30 and said he couldn't help us because he didn't know what was wrong, and they usually don't service mobile homes. Not one thing went well with this company, and it cost us time, work hours and gave us plenty of run around.

We had a plumbing situation on a Sunday afternoon and the person I spoke to over the phone was awesome! Kind, friendly, polite, and had great information. I wish I could say the same about our service technician - although he arrived to the house earlier than expected, he was rude and non-welcoming, as if we were disrupting his day by having him come out and assist us. While my husband and I discussed the potential option of going with another service that could have been cheaper, the service tech butted into what was an obviously private conversation stating condescending phrases such as Oh, I'm here already you might as well have me do this now, and You know that company charges such-and-such a fee, right? Anyways, it was hard to feel comfortable with him servicing our household with such a condescending and rude tone. I appreciate Roto-Rooter coming out on a Sunday afternoon for help, but I'd recommend training your service techs in customer service first.

These guys were awesome! Our kitchen drain started to back up and right away when I called I was told someone could be at my house within two hours. Keep in mind, this was Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend. The cost was significantly lower than what I imagining (this was my first service call to anyone in the 5 years I've been a homeowner so I had no idea what to expect). They didn't charge any type of weekend/holiday fee or additional fees in general, it was just one set price for the job. Mike was the technician dispatched out of Oakdale, MN. He couldn't have been nicer, explained what he was doing, possible causes and how I could do monthly preventative maintenance myself to help limit the chances of this happening again. The service was GREAT! We noticed all of our drains & toilet were backing up . So my girlfriend gave a few calls around. Roto-Rooter was here within 30 mins , diagnosed the problem (granted it was a simple one(blocked main sewage line) ). He got to work immediately and was done within 15 minutes at least. Mike was great . Great company, equipment & staff . Price was a little steep- but our house is older with very steep steps, so the extra prices were due to equipment disassembly and reassembly. He was also very nice and willing to work around our dog! :) which we're VERY appreciative for!Over all, I was beyond impressed with Roto. They got out to me quickly, didn't charge me an extra Sunday Night emergency fee like some other places were quoting me at. Floor Drain clogged. Scheduled and appointment online for the next day between 8 AM and 10 AM. Received email confirmation of appointment 15 minutes later.At 0730 AM on the day of the appointment received a phone call from RR, the service tech is on his way. Ten minutes later the service tech arrived (Art) and got to work. Thirty minutes later the clog was removed.Art answered all my questions and explained exactly what he was going to do to fix the problem. I was also experiencing a problem with my hot water heater; the pilot light would not remain lit and I was thinking of replacing the tank. Art suggested I replace the thermo coupler. I did so and the pilot light issue is resolved.Excellent service, on time, courteous and neat.

Arrived quickly. Diagnosed the problem and got it cleaned out in no time. Left everything clean when they left.

Asked about 2 issues and they send only the guy out that unclogs the drain. He was very professional and helpful. They did not send out someone for the plumbing problem with the same sink. So will have to call them again

Had an emergency clogged floor drain in my utility room that caused water to back up from the utility room sink, downstairs shower, toilet.... basically the main pipe was clogged. Called all night on 12/30 to have someone come in, but everywhere was booked. Roto Rooter was willing to book me for New Year's Eve and sent Gerve out early in the morning to diagnose and fix the problem. Gerve was knowledgeable, a problem solver, professional, friendly, and great to work with!!! Answered all of our questions and gave advices for maintaining clean pipes. Fast and quality service from Tim! I was given a 4 hour window, and was called 30 mins before the technician arrived, which is great as a mother of 2 kiddos and a big dog! They let me know what the toilet was clogged with, a rubber ducky! So now I will be sure to keep better track of when bath toys are out. Prices are better than other companies, and they even let you use an online coupon. I will certainly use them again in the future, but hopefully we won't have to 😜

Eric was great. We thought we had a sewer/drain problem. Turns out the contractor who built our addition forgot a small final step. Eric noticed it and I was able to contact them and get the problem fixed. He then proceeded to get after another unrelated issue we had and all is working well now. Professional, smart, courteous. Pretty much all that things you need when you call someone to your house, but rarely get.

The service itself was ok but the scheduling and appointment time was terrible! Scheduled online because it says it’s so “easy”. And it was! Even received a confirmation email of the scheduled appointment. However, after leaving work early and sitting around for hours waiting no one was calling to say they were in the way. In fact, 30 minutes before the end of the appointment window someone called and said they were running behind but they were still “trying” to get someone here. 2 hours later they called to say no one was coming. It was a full 24 hours after our scheduled appoint when someone finally care. I’m pretty sure we were charged too much and to top it all off, they left an oil stain on our concrete driveway. I recommend you find someone local who is invested in your neighborhood.Update:They called us to address our issue. Pointless waste of time! All they said was they would pass our experience on to the training department. How does that address our issue? I can tell you that a good local plumber won’t charge you any more than these guys, but will be more concerned about your experience. My mistake this time, won’t happen again.

Awesome job, Matt went above and beyond to help out with getting my main sewer line cleaned out. He came out on a Friday evening and was done in a couple hours. The price wasn't bad and I also got a 6 month warranty on the work done.

We had Roto-Rooter repair a pipe outside that had cracked over the winter. Our tech was everything you'd expect from a professional: punctual, friendly, polite, informative, knowledgeable, competent. I called Roto-Rooter this morning after I found my basement floor drain had sewage around it. The dispatcher was able to get a technician out within 2 hours. Our technician Dave was wonderful. Don't waste your time setting up an appointment with Roto-Rooter they will not show. Do yourself a favor and call another more reliable company. Had an appointment set in advance for today, waited around all day and no one showed. Received a call after 6pm asking if anyone stopped out from someone who works the call center. I said no and that I mine as well cancel because its clear no one is going to come out. The call center said ok, canceling your appointment and hung up. No offers to reschedule or make up for the no show. So again do yourself a favor and call a more reliable company.

The Service Tech they sent out to me was a very in the know person. He took his job very seriously. I was very pleased when he took the time to explain to me exactly what he was going to do and why he was doing it. I don't know to many people that would do that, or would be willing to answer all of your stupid questions while they are working. Had a main line back up. Called the place we have a plan with, but they didn’t have a drain cleaner available so they scheduled us for next day. Then called to reschedule again cuz they had a different emergency. I was livid. So I called Roto Rooter and they were out within a couple hours (before the original place was scheduled for). Aleister cleaned out our drain and gave us working toilets again. Yay! I highly recommend their service for emergency plumbing needs.

When the only toilet in my apartment inexplicably clogged on a Saturday night, and nothing I could do would fix it, I didn’t know what to do. I called Roto-Rooter and they initially told me that no one could come until after 10am the next day, but when I explained that the only toilet in the home was unusable, the dispatcher told me she would mark in as an emergency, and someone came less than an hour later. Derek was professional and direct, quickly explained what he planned to try and what it would cost. Fortunately the first thing he tried worked which kept the cost down. I never got the impression that I wasn’t being given all the information or that the company was trying to take advantage of my situation. Two thumbs up!

Wayne was great in examining the issue and explaining what the costs would be upfront. Although it was higher than I expected, I got my money's worth as he cleared our line and explained all the ways for preventative action in the future. The scheduling was a little difficult with the high volume of service calls, but they still came within the set time.

This company has a 24/7 phone call. You can call any time when you need the services and you can get the service done the next day if it is not urgen. It is very convenient. They don't charge the fees for plumber's showing and quotes. The final price charged is quite fair. I had Clint came to my house did the work I asked for. We sincerely thank Byron for his expert work to investigate and confirm our septic line which had been frozen was miraculously thawed out and working again after our 6 week winter absence. To get to the septic clean-out cap, he first had to chisel away some frozen concrete which didn’t allow access and had been that way for 42 years, since the house was built. He put on a brand new, far superior cap as replacement for the old one and then proceeded to test water flow through the line. He made suggestions for preventing septic freeze-ups when we are away in winter and charged us a lesser hourly rate which we much appreciated. He was professional, super knowledgeable and friendly. We sincerelythank Byron for all his expertise with our septic issue and recommend Roto-Rooter when a need for these type of services exists.

Our main drain backed up over the holiday weekend and my Husband was bound and determined to fix it himself. After playing with poop for 2 days, 11 hours each day he had enough... and honestly so did I. I called multiple services and no one could get here for 2 plus days. Andrew with Roto Rooter was here within 2 hours and had everything cleared and draining within an hour! The price was right and the service was amazing! I highly recommend Roto Rooter!

Very friendly phone service! I also was happy with how quickly they are able to schedule to come out. I am, however, disappointed in their main office. When I set up my initial appointment I made sure that their plumbers worked on lead pipes. They put me on hold and then assured me that they did. I then scheduled a service appointment with them. Once the plumber came out he said that he doesn't work on lead pipes. This was Monday 9/13. I have called at least twice each day since and have been told that the main office will call me back. I haven't heard back. Then yesterday I called twice and the second time the operator said that they would write a report and that I would hear back from a manger within two hours. It's now the next day I still have not heard from anyone. I'm very disappointed this is happening.

The actual work was good. However, I called the number on a Mr. Rooter coupon I had, NOT Roto Rooter. I used Mr. Rooter in the past & loved them. When the gentleman arrived in a Roto Rooter vehicle I asked him about it but he never answered.Secondly, I believe I was severely overcharged. Estimates for replacing an outdoor faucet were $200-$400 on the internet - I looked while he was working. He charged me $962, saying it had to do with code requirements & that was the specified amount. $200 for parts, $762 for a little over an hour of labor.I will not be using Roto Rooter again.

Had our kitchen drain clog up with food and what appeared to be kitchen grease. Our tech did a great job by snaking the drain twice to make sure it was cleared. Andrew at Roto-Rooter came to my house to un-clog my shower drain. He was very professional, kind, and straight forward. 2 months ago I had Bonfe come over and un-clog the shower. I purchased a monthly subscription because they told me they would come back out once a year for free. When I called today, not only would it cost $250 , but un-clogging does not fall under the subscription. Roto-Rooter has a 6 month guarantee so I am taken care of.

This is the first time we used Roto Rooter having lived in our house for over 50 years. It was a wonderful and satisfying experience from start to finish. I was able to schedule service online. Communication about when the tech would arrive was thorough--the tech arrived promptly and when expected. He was extremely courteous and professional. The explanation of the problem made sense. The bill was what I expected for a main sewer line clean-out (tree roots) and basement drain clearance. I haven't tested it out yet (e.g., by running the washing machine), but I have no reason to think the problem hasn't been solved. Roto Rooter has always done a good job for me.

Roto Rooter came out that night (around 11pm) and stopped the water, snaked the drain, AND got rid of all the damaged material in our basement, including carpet and drywall. We needed a plumber for a plugged drain that was backing up in the basement. I contacted the St. Paul office who dispatched a technician within an hour. I had a terrible experience with Roto-Rooter! Out of St Paul! Andy The Dispatcher was very rude and told my Plumber that was on his way to my house to just forget that house and go on to the next house! I can not believe that dispatcher told him to break our agreement of a 10 am till 2 pm window when it was only 11:30am! I was exhausted! I have been up since 9am waiting for this plumber all day till 2o'clock! And when I called to ask Michelle if I could get that window extended longer to have someone finally come out to my home to service us, Michelle was very rude to me talking over me! Not once did Michelle or Andy apologize to me for my inconvenience of having to get up so early and wait all morning long till afternoon to get my service done! I had a great experience this week with Roto-Rooter. I woke up to a main line backup which had water backed up into my laundry room. I called at 7am and they had someone out within 2 hours, Darrell did a great job and cleared out the main line. I appreciated the quick service considering the weather was not good on Monday.

I went into the basement to start a load of laundry. I have done that a million times without turning a light on. So I heard and felt the wet floor before I saw it. Our service tech was really friendly and helpful. We had three drains that had all clogged independently. He communicated clearly throughout the process, told us what he was planning to do, and showed us the results so we'd have a better understanding of the problem. I had a great experience with Roto Rooter, especially with Brian. I appreciate that they are available 24/7. Brian came to my house at 11:30 p.m. and worked until 4:00 a.m. and he would not give up until all of the issues were resolved. He definitely went above and beyond to fix my plumbing issue. I also appreciated the care he took to preserve my carpets and flooring (using shoe covers, laying down towels, etc.). Only minor issue was I had to have a second technician come out another day to look through my pipes with a camera for any blockage and he showed up a couple hours after they called and said he would be there (but he was very friendly and even stopped to play with my daughter for a minute). While the total price was a little higher than expected, watching the time and effort that was put in to fix my issue I didn’t mind paying it.

We had backup sewage and after calling 2 other places, they wouldn't have anyone until the next day in the evening. We decided to call Roto Rooter and Eric(3116) came out within the hour. We couldn't thank him enough. He was fast, clean up after himself, and was just nice. This will be our go to from now on. Thank you for saving our night!

Derek did a fantastic job of coming out and letting us know what he thought was wrong and kept me posted on what was going on every step of the way. He was there for at least 4 hours and made sure we were all set before he left. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t express how grateful we are for his help. WOW!!! My toilet had been clogged for two days and despite our best efforts, we couldn't fix it. Robert from Roto-Rooter came -- cheerful guy, nice to my dog, great social distancing habits -- the guy ran up my stairs and came down TWO MINUTES LATER. Clogged fixed.HE DIDN'T CHARGE ME. He said that was the easiest job in the world, and said he'd like me to be a Roto-Rooter customer for life. He literally did not want my credit card. Customer for life, absolutely!!!! The 2 star deduction is for the dispatcher or whomever writes the schedule. I was given a window of 1:15 to 3:15, the plumber didn't arrive until just after 5pm. I called and spoke to the dispatcher twice and both times I was told 30 minutes, and both times it was more than 30 minutes. The plumber did eventually arrive and Brian #936 was, as the plumbers always are, great. He was upfront about pricing and clearly explained what he was going to do and why he was doing it. He was quick and cleaned up after he was done. My only complaint is with communication. Our reference number is 19896456

I noticed water pooling out of the main drain in our basement and made an appointment online. Within a few minutes my appointment was confirmed and Andy came out to clear the drain. He was friendly, professional and fast. The drain was cleared and he took time to move and turn on our dehumidifier to help dry the area that had flooded. He then gave recommendations on how to prevent further clogs. Overall, it was a great experience.

Brian explained everything that he was doing and why he was doing it. I am not familiar with plumbing, but he helped me understand clearly what was going on. Adam was great - very friendly and knowledgeable. Showed up 2 hours after I called for a basement floor drain that was backing up; routed it and everything fixed! A bit pricey for an hour’s work (over $400 just to route the drain), but you pay for speed of service.

Our floor drain backed up on a Sunday evening before a holiday. Jesse and his apprentice came out promptly and cleared the drain. Great experience with Todd from Roto-Rooter today. I generally thing of Roto-Rooter to fix clogged drains, but I've had such good service in the past, when I was faced with a plumbing issue last night that caused me to shut off all the water to my house, I called for plumbing services from Roto-Rooter. Todd, an experienced plumber, came and fixed my issue while also educating me on additional things for me to consider. I am very pleased with the service that I received today.

My wife and I have had two experiences with Roto Rooter (RR), and neither of them were great. First, we had RR come out to look at our dripping bath faucet. The issue was with old handles that needed to be replaced, but the tech said he couldn't get the old handles off and suggested that we needed to take everything down and apart to do the work and that he otherwise couldn't fix the issue. However, we had a second company out that was able to replace the handles with no problems and fixed the dripping faucet . The one positive thing about this experience was that RR didn't charge us.As for the second experience, we figured we would give them another chance, so we had RR out to get a quote for clearing our basement floor drain. Like last time, the tech suggested more work was needed, as he said the floor drain and main sewer line should both be cleared. We had a second company out who said (and confirmed what a third company stated on the phone) only the floor drain needed to be cleared. Consequently, the total cost was less than half of what RR quoted. Again, the one positive thing was that RR didn't charge us for the visit and estimate.I am giving RR three stars because of the free visits and estimates and good customer service. The two visits from RR were not great though, which is disappointing considering RR generally has good reviews online. Thus, as is recommended for just about all services you hire someone to perform, I suggest getting a second quote if you get one from RR or any plumber or drain cleaner.

I called for an estimate, the plumber came on time the next day, gave me an estimate for several little jobs as well as a new toidy, and I accepted, and he did it ALL RIGHT THEN! All seems well and the final tab was less that the initial estimate! So I will give 5Stars in a few weeks after we see that it's as good as it seems today. Good is good and so far, so good

Well it’s never particularly cheap when you need a plumber but when the resolution clears up the issue it’s overall worth the cost.Our technician was AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!! Was patient and polite and answered all questions and explained exactly what the issues were.If every person that came to work on my home was like this I would be as content as possible. He resolved our issue and was just a great guy in general.

Technician, Chris, was friendly and explained what needed to be done. Dispatch communication is excellent as well. I knocked one star off only because I think the price was excessive but then again I've never had to call a plumber before.An hour after the tech left, another Roto-Rooter employee surprisingly was at my door offering to give an estimate for the water damage restoration. I was thinking...GREAT SERVICE! Felt bad for the guy though, it was his first day on his own, his iPad was locking him out, and after about 2 hours there, he wasn't able to complete the estimate. Ultimately, I choose not to use Roto-Rooter for the restoration. I thought the price is alarmingly high for what is needed at my house. I would rather pay a contractor to rip out the old wet drywall and insulation and replace with new. Nothing else was damaged, so I can't really justify paying the high cost of restoration services just to have someone tear down a wet ceiling and insulation in 1/2 of my garage. I may even tackle it myself this weekend.

The service man from Roto-Rooter came today to service a slower moving basement drain. It's an annual service that we have done of our home, but I found that this service technician was exceptionally well informed on the building codes and the design of our basement drainage system. They also answered some very important questions we had regarding how often to check for the line out to the sewer in regards to tree roots. The company has a great archive of service records for every customer so we didn't have to go digging to find the time frames in which we done certain service in the past. Bottom line: this company and their service reps are at the top of their game, are expert service providers, and are there for their customers. Thank you!!

Andrew was right on time and opened up our outside sewer line. We have an issue so they will scope the line to verify what is the cause. Andrew also opened the line up as far as he could so we could use water. He was courteous, explained everything real well, and just worked hard to keep us in our home tonight instead of a hotel.

My drain in my laundry room backup and I had water all over the laundry room floor plus I could but flush the toilets. I called Roto Rooter after talking to other company's who either would not come to a town home, or could not come out today.The person I talked to on the phone was so nice and told me someone would be out in 30 to 45 minutes.True to his word Adam the service tech came in 45 minutes. Adam was so nice and did a GREAT JOB. He got the drain unclogged but felt that they my be a issue with the drain structure. I was told by a different company my drain pipe was broken. I called Roto Rooter to come give me an estimate, they found that my drain pipe was not broken and were able to declog it very quickly for me. roto rooter came out and was able to declog my drain quickly.
