Extremely pricey. For one hour of cutting wall and fixing a pipe, $800. $84 for parts and $730 for labor of 1 hour. They scam people. They missed an appointment and the next day they should up. Will never use and never recommend to anyone again.

The 1st technician called in an extra set of eyes and they provided a complimentary video scope of my 110 year old pipes and gave me all of the options and quotes for improving/replacing my pipes. Mike was our technician and he was very professional. He explained what was needed to install the hot water heater and bring everything up to code. He showed me some other plumbing issues that needed some attention. While the work was not cheap, I think Mike was very knowledgeable and the quality of his work was so good that I asked him for his business card so I could hire him in the future.

We originally chose a four hour time window, which was further confirmed to a 2 hour time window by email. The day of the appointment, we received a phone call notifying us the technician was on his way, and he promptly arrived 30 minutes later right at the beginning of our 2 hour time window.The technician (Dave #390) was very friendly and easy to work with. He solved all of our problems, while also giving us some tips and suggestions for the future. He didn't try to pressure us into any upsales. I would definitely work with him again if needed!

Clogged pipe from house to septic tank was backing up the floor drain and into the house. RotoRooter came out, described the problem and talked me through the steps for how they were going to take care of it. Now I know my pipes are clean from the floor drain to the septic tank and I can rely on the work with their 6 month guarantee.

Steve was obviously well schooled in plumbing. And, he was very conscious of Covid-19 precautions as well as keeping my home clean wherever he moved and worked. I worked with him to expedite the situation. I only stood by and ran water when he asked. But in being involved, I could observe how he worked knowledgeably and with confidence. When he left the job the drain area was very clean, nothing disgusting was left behind.

Roto-rooter unclogged a shared pipe leading away from the kitchens of two townhomes. They only charged the general service fee for unclogging a drain $408, and it comes with a 6 month warranty. Darrell provided very courteous & friendly social-distanced service. We used them previously for the same service about 2 years ago and will use them again if needed.

I contacted the Monday night, they were here Tuesday by 8 AM and got everything done by 11. Very professional. Use Rheem equipment which is top quality. Very happy.

Update: Management reached out to me with a sincere apology and bill credit. Definitely feel better about this company now.Had a clogged kitchen drain. Made an appointment online for between 4-8pm Friday. Waited around home the whole time and finally got a call at 830pm saing they didn't have a technician available and would I like to reschedule for the next day between 3-7pm. I said yes. Wait around the next day and finally at 7pm get a call saying technician is on the way. Shows up at 730 and gets down to business. Brandon B. was the technician. He was very friendly and professional and got the drain cleared in a timely manner. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and how to avoid the problem in the future. The price was about double what I expected to pay. So in conclusion, Brandon gets 5 stars and is a stellar employee, however Roto Rooter needs to get their scheduling figured out. And for a simple snaking of a drain, the cost was much too high.

Roto Rooter came because our drain was backing water into our basement. They came fast, cleared our main drain and sent someone back with a camera at no charge. It all cost $254. Then it started backing up the next day. We wondered if they did a bad job. Another guy came. He cleared another pipe that led to the main drain. He wasn’t sure it the first guy misdiagnosed the original problem. So he didn’t charge us. In the end we may have had to pay less; just the hassle of 2 visits. All I all they got it right in the end with good customer service.

Jeff was really friendly and professional, he listened to our frustration we had with the previous Plumber. He not only fixed our clogged drain but also found the main source of the problem. I realized at 11:30 my drain was plugged I tried fixing it to no avail so I called Roto Rooter who is helped us in the past and within 45 minutes they had someone on site. He worked very hard on the problem for an hour. You could see he was making progress but he wasn't Satisfied till he had it done to his expectation. Three hours from the time I contacted Roto router I'm doing laundry again, everything is cleaned up and returned to its original order and the sink has never flowed so well. Excellent work, friendly Qualified staff and absolutely fantastic turn around time!!Thank you!!!

They came to unclog the floor drain in our basement. Drain got cleared up fine but scratched paint off floor in multiple spots and took the backflow ball from drain. Called multiple times to see about getting it back and they always said someone will call you and no one ever did. That ball keeps sewer gasses from coming into the house. Also the plumber seemed to think his mask was a chin guard.

Main drain line to the street was completely clogged because of tree roots. Brian from Roto Rooter arrived shortly after I received a call back, and quickly fixed the problem. They were an hour late after the 2 hour appointment window ended. William (the tech that came) didn’t want to honor either of the 2 website promotions 1) Free estimate AND 2) $100 off for senior citizens. We had to argue just to get the $100 off senior discount (homeowner is 82 years old), but the whole service ended up to be overly priced anyways. Would never recommend hiring this company again. Service was unprofessional, they will nickel and dime you over everything. $400+ for a kitchen disposable clog repair is a joke.

I called on Saturday morning as we were preparing for our son's graduation party. I went into the basement to do some laundry and discovered the laundry tubs were full of water and food waste from the kitchen on the first floor, meaning there was a clog in the pipes or in the floor between below the laundry tubs. I called Roto-Rooter, the technician Josh arrived slightly ahead of the eta I was given, which was awesome under the circumstances. Although the issue was more challenging than originally thought, Josh stuck with the job and got it done in a timely manner. Josh was professional, courteous and respectful of our home. I am very pleased with the service we received from Josh and Roto-Rooter.

Called for clogged main in a commercial building, had Andrew as a tech. He had it unclogged within an hour.

I called to have a kitchen drain figured out after I had cleared about three cloggs on on my own and still couldn't get my sink draining. They came out in about 2 hours or so after my call. The person they sent was friendly and professional and cleanly presented. His name was Jordan and he explained every step of the process to me and was upfront about the steps and cost involved. Fixing my sink went well and he answered all my questions and even cleaned up after which many other companies have not done before when I have called them. They warrantied the job they did so if something goes wrong they will come right back out. I appreciate the fast professional service.

I nice gentlemen came out and checked to see what it would cost to move my garage disposal from one side to another. He looked at it and said $850.I had another pluming company come out a few days later and they charged me $400. We figured around $350 - $400 to change it.Roto-Rooter you are expensive. This team excelled in getting the job done quickly, solidifying my confidence in them, and increasing my knowledge of my house. When I comparison shopped, Roto-Rooter had fair prices--and I liked that they charged one price for the project, not by the hour. Josh did a great job judging the situation and thoroughly cleaning our main drain. Josh routinely informed me what was going on (when he wasn't satisfied with the results of one flush, he cleaned the main drain a second time--included in the first price quote), and he mentioned other services that came free with the project cost. While he was here, Chad came by to inspect for water damage, and he clearly identified what was prior damage, what was new, and how to resolve that problem--this was included in the project price. Then manager Rob stopped in to verify that all was as it should be. The next day, Jeff arrived to inspect the prior day's work and invited me to watch the video feed as he inserted a See Snake down each drain to ensure all was done properly and to explain what future work might be done to improve the quality of my pipes--also included in the project price. I am grateful to SEE that my pipes are cleaned out (I didn't know that was a thing!), to see what shape my pipes are in, and to know what kind of services I could budget for in the future. All four men were incredibly professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Roto-Rooter's dispatch team was great too, helping their team flex around my scheduling needs. We had a sewage pump issue arise suddenly and as you can imagine it wasn’t fun!! Eric from Roto rooter was able to come out the next morning, identified the problem (that other plumbers had missed) and fixed it all that day! Great experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Within 5 months I am out of $633. The first technician charged me full price for small clean out from washer and dryer, a 30 minutes job. This time around, the technician said he has to clean the main line for the same charge as last time. To me, I was over charge the first time. A refund of half the amount charge the first would be sufficient.

These guys came in within 20 minutes had the sewer line cleaned up. They then brought in specialist with a camera and ran the whole line to the street looking for issues. I would definitely use them again. they found a few issues, and provided some suggestions or recommendations for corrective actions.

The technician Luke #3657 came out today to help solve a drain backup in my basement. He was patient and took the time to explain the cause of the backup. He also provided suggestions on how to prevent similar issues in the future. It only took about 30-40 minutes with clearing out the issue, testing that everything was still functioning and best of all no mess left behind!

Our repair man was very kind & patient with the fact the city was having an issue getting the water shut off taking an additional couple of hours before he could even begin the repair. He was thoughtful about not bringing a mess into the house and cleaned up after completing the repair. He explained the bill and warranty before leaving. Overall one of the best repair experiences I’ve had.

We have used Roto Rooter several times in the past and until today never felt that we paid to much. $405 to snake a drain...no parts had to be purchased this was for a half hour of labor. He called it a flat rate. We saw online several places that advertise cheaper rates but went with who we have used before. Never again.

I own a duplex and my tenants called me on a weekday evening with some of the worst news, their sewer drain was overflowing and water was all over the laundry room.I called Roto-rooter and they were out at my doorstep within an hour. They eventually found the blockage and removed it, all for a pretty fair price (around $450, charge for sewer blockage + pulling a toilet + emergency call).The guys they sent out, Andrew (ID 2766) and Matt (ID 6772) were fantastic and didn't leave till the job was finally done (they were still there at about 10:30p on a weekday).I really appreciate the work they did and I'll definitely use them again.

I had an unknown water leak that ended up destroying my basement ceiling and everything below it. I filled a homeowners claim and had mold remediation done. When that was finished I called roto rooter to find and repair this leak. When Clint got to my house,everything was open to him all pipes were visible in the kitchen and the basement. He proceeded to tell me that a small drip on my sink strainer was the cause. I told him I very highly doubt that a strainer that gets little use compared to the other side of the sink would or could cause $40,000 worth of damage. He then charged me almost $500 to replace it. My contractor comes back once I say the plumber assured me the leak was fixed (without looking at ANYTHING ELSE). The day my knockdown ceiling was replaced and walls were painted,the leake showed up again and water destroyed the new work. I called back and said what happened they sent jake! Jake is beyond incompetent,I found the leak myself and explained to jake what Clint missed. Hake decided to give me a plastic shark bite and to do it myself. Again I called and complained and spoke with their GM Robert. He backed his plumbers even tho their mess up cost me around $14,000 to fix the NEW damage. And instead of owning up to their mistake they decided to give my money back and I should go somewhere else. DO NOT USE,there are plenty of small plumbing places that offer WAY more professionalism than roto rooter could EVER hope to have!!!!

Shower drain clog - Setting up the appointment was easy, and the plumber/technician came at the early end of the service window. Will was very respectful of the home and diagnosed the issue very quickly. Unfortunately, the clog was not superficial so an auger was required. The only reason that this review is not a 5 star is that the cost of the service was within the normal range for this area, but came in a little high. The efficacy of the service and Will's professionalism and courtesy were top notch. Can definitely recommend on that basis.

I felt the service was very expensive for a main line cleanout and a camera examination ($405.00). Ended up having to reschedule because no one showed up the first time. It also turns out the snake was too big for my pipe, so they couldn't really get too far in. All in all my mainline isn't backing up anymore and the 2 tech's that came out were really nice, just feel it was way too expensive for a job that I feel is incomplete. Also didnt get a warranty because they weren't able to get all the way in the pipe.

I had the pleasure of working with three different people from Roto for a main sewage line clog. All three were friendly and professional. They answered all my questions and made sure I knew what was going on. I called at 6:30pm on a Monday and had someone at the house by 7pm. He stayed until 11pm (!) working hard to get it unclogged but couldn’t quite get it so they sent another employee out the next day by noon and another man with a camera to check out what was going on. They had it cleared by 1pm and let me know my repair options and explained how my particular line worked. They were also knowledgeable about my city’s special assessment program that helps pay for any sewer line repairs.

Great technician. But overpriced. 20 minutes of work to replace both sink lines and $420 later. I feel the pricing model should be more consistent as a per hour rate labor plus parts. Also within 30 minutes after my service a second roto rooter employee showed up asking to look at the water damage. Was not requested and feel it was somewhat deceptive on true purposes. Especially because I told the technician I already have a company working on the water damage. Service was good, but disappointed in the business practices. Will hire local plumber companies in the future.

Brian did an excellent job. Unfortunately the previous technician from Roto Rooter had been out 6 months earlier and had not removed all the roots necessitating a complete cleaning of our line. In the interim we did the recommended root killer treatment.

Brian was prompt and quick to assess what needed to be done. He completed clearing the main drain in about 40 minutes and then explained what he did and what he learned.

The tech did a good job of explaining what he was going to do and was very open about costs, and findings. The only issues I had are that the tech did not have tools to cut out and try to save the bottom shelf in my cabinet where the cleanup drain is located and he was also a little too broad shouldered to get in the cabinet to clean the mess caused by the roots that he pulled out of the drain.

There was an understandable delay in service due to the holiday weekend, but they made several phone calls to keep me updated and were apologetic. After trying unsuccessfully for two days to clear the clog in my kitchen sink, I made an appointment with RotoRooter. My window was from 8-12 and Pete was here around 930. It took him less than 10 minutes to clear the plug. He also pointed out issues with the plumbing that will lead to more problems later. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and personable. I enjoyed getting to chat with him while he quickly and expertly fixed several problems. 100% would recommend.

He explained the process, identified what ended up being a minor structural concern that was very fixable. I am very pleased! I did forget to mention that I had a discount coupon until after they already ran my card. they were unable to fix the problem, but directed me to the billing department. Tim (6258) came to our house and took a look at our sewer line to the street -- using a camera attached to a snake. The best part about the visit is that he invited me to see what the camera was seeing...pointing out what was OK and not OK in the pipe. It's an old house, built in the late-30s, so chances are things have eroded a bit! He then gave me a few different scenarios on how to fix the problem. Getting water coming up thru the floor when using the kitchen sink. Luke (#3657) came this evening to inspect and and clean the drain pipe. He found that the pipe under the basement floor is most likely broken from settling and age (house was built in 1954). He scheduled a tech with a inspection camera to come out and confirm where the break is so we can plan for the repair. I am very satisfied with Luke's service and customer service!

I had to have the drain line scoped and was scheduled right away, the second service person came within 24 hours and spent a significant amount of time removing a broken plug that was blocking the line. I had a complete blockage of the plumbing stack causing kitchen sinks and dishwasher to slow and a basement bar sink to overflow and flood the carpet.i called rotorooter for help at 3 PM, and Andrew was at work by about 8 pm on the same day. He arrived with mask in place and operated in compliance with Guidelines from the Minnesota Department of health For Covid prevention.Andrew took a careful history of the problem from me, and we collaborated on the scope of work— which lines needed to be cleared of the accumulated sludge of two decades. In my opinion the cost Estimate was very reasonable.Andrew worked Quickly and skillfully. He inserted the Auger through the kitchen drain and threaded it down through the length of the stack. Discovered that the floor drain in the basement was backing up, causing flooding around 6 pm last night. Brian arrived around 8 PM and found the problem. Not uncomplicated! Called the 800 number to have a technician come ASAP for a real estate transaction requirement. Called at 3:00 on Friday and a tech was at our home by 4:30. RotoRooter was called because water was backing up in the garbage disposal sink. On Monday, RotoRooter dispatched a tech who failed to notice the water back up and who performed a snake operation (that ultimately was not needed) charging me $411. After the tech left, I ran water into the garbage disposal sink and the water continued to back up. I quickly called RotoRooter to let them know the problem I called them about was NOT fixed. The next day, a RotoRooter plumber showed up. I showed him the problem and he told me there would be an additional $875 charge. I then asked him what it would cost to remove the disposal and simply replumb that sink to act like a ‘normal’ sink. The charge would remain the same, and he would NOT discount it by the unnecessary $411 charge incurred by the first tech a day earlier. I strongly objected. Ultimately, the plumber called his boss and agreed to reduce the total to $725. I agreed, only because we needed the kitchen sink to work properly. But please know how unhappy we were with the RotoRooter service provided, which wound up taking two days with 2 different techs. And in the end, the overall price to remove the garbage disposal and replumb the sink was in my opinion way out of line for the work done and the inconvenience RotoRooter caused. Suffice it to say, we will not be using RotoRooter in the future.

The tech Kevin was great. Very professional and upfront with costs. All exchanges with him were very informative and pleasant.Our issue was with the scheduling team. I called Tuesday and they said someone would be out between 8-10am Wednesday morning. At 10:30 I called asking for an ETA. They said they were behind but should call in an hour and be there shortly after. That call never came. I called again this morning (Thursday) at 9am after never receiving any follow-up calls yesterday afternoon. They acknowledged my appointment and said again that someone would call in about an hour and be there shortly after. Didn't receive a call until 3:30pm from Kevin that he would be arriving soon. I don't know who this falls on but the communication of when a technician will be arriving needs to be dramatically improved. Very poor experience.

Our garbage disposal broke down and started having up water in the sink when we used the dishwasher, we were able to get someone right away and he gave us many options to choose from. We ended up having another tech come over two days later to remove the disposal and redo all the plumbing under the sink and he was very good as well. I am satisfied with the service. The benefit of Roto rooter is they can come immediately and the work is done quickly

I called Roto-Rooter super last minute after another company tried to tell me that I needed to get my sewer line hydro-jetted for $1700. Roto-Rooter was able to get someone out to me that same night (around 4:15pm). The technician’s name was Jeffrey and he was fantastic. He explained to me the potential scenarios and the procedure and cost levels for everything, so I felt in control and educated. In the end, the clog was within my house (far within 100 feet!) so I didn’t have to deal with any tree roots and the higher pricing that comes with that problem. The procedure went pretty quick and smooth to unclog the blockage and Jeffrey and trainee cleaned everything up and put things back in the closet that they had had to empty. There was also a discount for donating canned food (the company is doing a food drive for Thanksgiving), so instead of the $1700 quote I got from the other company, I paid under $350!

I was able to get in touch with the dispatcher and get on the technician schedule first thing in the morning to deal with my basement flooding. My technician Jake was friendly, efficient and did a great job cleaning up the excess water.

Steve was professional and friendly. He diagnosed the issue with my drain and fixed it! Big relief on my part that it wasn’t a bigger issue.

I thought the service was too expensive because it took less than 20 minutes to fix the problem, but Brian was helpful about informing me how to avoid future problems.

Roto rooter, i recommend not to do any services thru them. There services are bad and just not that but They lie as well. As what I mean about that. If you ever plan to sign a contract with them you should really think twice before you do, or else find other place beside others than roto rooter. Because, they screw me over by saying 2 different thing to me and my home insurance to where my home insurance isn't cover and I believe they knew it from the beginning as well just so they can get quick money from me. Hopefully anyone doesn't get this fraud from them like how they did to me and my family. As that being said, there services sucks very bad. We sign a contract saying they well come the next morning to clean up all the mess and take all the damage stuff away. It took them 2 week later to come do there job after all the floor is all molded and still stall us time still not wanting to finish my basement.For anyone who's thinking about roto rooter, just double think before you call them up. Our sewer specialist was thorough and friendly. We are looking for an estimate for a big project, and I feel confident knowing Roto Rooter has never let us down. Our specialist gave us a competitive price, and I appreciated that he was as careful with our home as we are by leaving the work area exactly as he found it--clean!

David was very professional and explained in detail what was required to fix the issue.

My plumber was very professional and efficient. He was also an extremely nice guy who did his job quickly and well. The problem was with Roto-Rooter's pricing. They charge by the job, not the hour. I was very clear with them that all I needed was a new washer on an old faucet unit that would be replaced during a remodel this fall. Despite receiving three preliminary calls and a visit to my house by a Roto-Rooter representative—still not sure what that was about—I got no pricing information beyond the $79 arrival fee. When the plumber arrived I was told that the job would cost $419! To be clear, that's $419 for a half-hour of labor, plus a 99 cent washer! And this is during regular weekday business hours! I told the plumber that his estimate was more than double what I'd ever paid for a similar job in the past. He pointed me to a discount coupon worth $100 and I had him do the job rather than pay the arrival fee and still have a leaky faucet. So, that's 5 big stars for my plumber, and an emphatic ZERO STARS for ROTO-ROOTER!!!

2 gentlemen came to fix my kitchen sink they were very polite they came in with bags on their feet so they didn't walk dirt in or walk dirt around in the house and they were very professional while they were working they worked quite a while on the drain they didn't give up they had good attitudes about what was going on and how difficult the job was they worked for several minutes trying to unclog the drain they were rusty old pipes but they kept going and they fixed it and got it all cleared out it was quite a big relief and they couldn't have been any more gentlemen Like positive attitudes it was a wonderful experience even though there was some nasty smells and gross stuff coming out of the pipes, Roto-Rooter will be the 1st place I call next time I have an issue with any of the drains

Temporarily got rid of clog. I paid them approx $290 for 3 minutes of work. Then it was clogged again after a couple hours. Waste of money. Buy a toilet snake at a home department store for $60 instead.

Drain line to the street was backing up in the basement. The technician had a difficult time getting the drain flowing so the supervisor came out with a camera (included in the price) and identified a low spot with a huge paper plug. Classic sump pump emergency: lots of rain, our pump went out at 3am and we were going out of town the next day. Roto-Rooter was the first (and only of 4) plumbing companies to call us back and they did so by 7am with someone at our door to fix it 8am! He was honest, consulted us about our drainage issues, and even took away the second old pump that was still hanging around in our basement. I highly recommend them for any service needs, though I hope yours doesn't come at 3am!

He was able to get a new one and replace it the same day in a few hours. Only question is pricing- $1000 for labor and permit. I'm happy with the service they provided overall. I called them late one evening when my hot water heater died, and had them replace it the next morning. The work done looks very nice and neat, the whole process was fairly quick as well.They did add ~5 feet of unnecessary copper piping for draining that the guy (Mike 1968) had told me was required to meet code, however the city inspector told me it wasn't actually required at all. I don't mind the extra piping, but it likely cost money a bit more money for something I hadn't expected or asked for.While I suspect their pricing is higher than other places, people were friendly, quick, professional, and solved my problem in a timely manner.
