Some of the most knowledgeable, professional, and hard working contractors I’ve ever dealt with! Our water heater broke unexpectedly, leaving us without hot water or heat (aquatherm furnace) and they were able to come out right away to install a replacement at a reasonable price. They helped us navigate a complicated warranty replacement, an above-average complexity install, and went above and beyond at every step to make sure the job was done right...even going out of their way to secure a part in order to prevent the same issue from happening in the future! I called Roto-Rooter for a hot water heater service. I spoke to the attendant and was informed the technician would arrive between 5:30 and 9:30pm. I received an verification email of my service. Almost immediately, I received a call from Joshua Boone, Service Technican #5765, about the service charge and that he would be driving from Baltimore. Joshua arrived promptly and immediately diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem. Joshua was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond the repair. I asked questions and he answerd them all without hesitation. After the repair, Joshua stayed and verified that the water got hot. I would definitely recommend Joshua to anyone that has an issue with their hot water heater. I will inform my neighbors to call Roto-Rooter and ask for Joshua if they ever have any issues with their hot water heater.

David did an amazing job for us today! Our main sewer line was terribly backed up and he was able to get everything cleared up for us... He was very respectful, knowledgeable and completed the work in a timely manner. My wife and I are thankful for his hard work today and will be calling him again for any future plumbing needs. The first time we used Stilwell Plumbinging they were great. They really help us out. This time however it was the total opposite. We now have been without hot water for over a week. The plumber was supposed to come out between 2 and 6 PM. At 6:45 pm I was out playing with my kids in the back yard when the plumber walks up to my fence and asks me why I didn't answer the front door. He never called to say he was running late never apologized for being late but was annoyed that I didn't answer the front door when he finally showed up.

I showed him the proble and he took a few pictures and said he needed to order a part. I asked how long that would take and he said they would have it the next day.

The next day my wife and I called a total of six times to try and see if the part had come in and to schedule a time for them to come out. Calling six times may seem excessive but everytime we called we literally got a different reason why the part was not in yet. The final time I called the woman told me they were having trouble finding the part we needed. She said it was hard to find parts for a tankless water heater. That took me back because I dont have a tankless water heater. To told her this and then she said oh right we ordered your part this morning and they dont have same day delivery. When I asked why we were told, by the plumber, that the part would have been in the next day she told me they shouldn't have said that. I also asked her why she didn't tell my wife or me this earlier today. She said she had gotten our claim mixed up with another claim.

I'm not a business man in any shape or form and I understand that businesses have bad days but reading the other reviews there seems to be common trends with the lower ratings.

The tech was very informative and helpful. He gave me a bunch of information without being a salesman while doing it. He was also clean, professional and pretty fast.

Sunday morning I discovered the pipe leading out of the hot water heater was leaking, spraying water in the basement. I called and spoke to Metccalf, the person I spoke to was able to direct me where to turn the water off to the water heater to stop the leak. As promised, we received a call shortly after 7:30am. Due to a cancellation we were able to get an 8-8:30am window. Crew arrived minutes before 8:00, and were able to repair the leak. The cost was very reasonable given the current economy. I would definitely use Metcalf again.

A friend recommended this company to me and I used them once before and it was fine. This time I scheduled an appointment and the day and time came and went with no one showing up. I called and was told to send a text message only for that to go unreturned. I understand that things happen and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled, but it would have been nice if someone treated me like a human being and let me know something instead of leaving me waiting for hours.
