Mike Munson has serviced our home twice for gas pipe leaks and has provided excellent service! He is professional, timely, clean (wears booties), and trustworthy. He provided good quotes and both times the job required a little more work than expected and we weren't charged more than the quote. I trust he does thorough and quality work as if he's doing it in his own home. We will continue to use Metcalf Plumbling for all of our plumbing needs!

Metcalf Plumbing had the best reviews and I was so excited! I called to have a flooding /backup issue repaired. The agent was very nice and professional. I let the agent know on the phone prior to the plumber coming out that I was using insurance and that I had a claim number before they sent the plumber out. The plumber was out to us in record time (within 2hrs of the request). Unfortunately when the plumber arrived he let us know that the company does not except insurance payments, he took a look at the issue gave my fiancé some professional advice to maintain the issue until we can get the issue resolved and emailed us the quote that we would need to pay the estimated cost of $6800 upfront and be reimbursed by the insurance payments (I was not informed of that fact upfront, I was only told about the $75 service fee). So if you are intending to have your service covered by insurance this company would not be ideal unless you have the money for the repairs upfront and can afford to wait for a reimbursement from your insurance.

The best ever in everything from customer service in office and in person doing service. Excellent work, work completed in timely fashion, cleaned up, no complaints whatsoever. I'm a customer for life. Recommend them immensely. A diamond company.

As always, we received professional,
high quality, and reliable service from Metcalf Plumbing. We’ve had them do work for us several times (multiple installs and repairs) since we moved here in 2015, and we absolutely recommend them. I’ve never had a problem with their work. The techs take the time to show me the problem and teach me prevention measures I can take and what to look for.
Although this isn’t a big deal, I also appreciate that they cover their shoes without waiting to be asked. It’s a nice touch. We have white carpets (not by choice), and I almost always have to ask.

We woke up to our first floor bathroom flooded. Metcalf came within a hour and had the broken toilet replaced before lunch time! Highly recommend!

OMGGG I wish I had found Metcalf before I put my trust in a disastrous person who isn’t licensed and didn’t know what in the heck he was doing. My new construction project has been so much easier, so meticulously done, by seasoned, licensed professionals who absolutely know what they are doing. Les Metcalf initially met me at the house and spent THREE HOURS of his own time, walking through the property, explaining every single detail, answering all of the 5,000 questions that I had, and he was the www.the bomb.com. Let me tell you, you might want to give your work to someone recommended by a friend who says they do good work, but look at what happened to the homes by Reisterstown Road Plaza, three homes exploded, and unfortunately lives were lost because someone chose to go with someone who proclaimed to be able to do a job that they were not qualified to do. I did significant research, I read every single review about Metcalf Plumbing’s work. I made sure that when I found a plumber to install my new GAS lines and WATER lines, drains, shower systems, etc., that they were licensed, reputable, and came with recommendations from hundreds of customers.
You get exactly what you pay for. I’m so incredibly happy to have found Les Metcalf. This is not a fake review nor a paid advertisement. I’m a real NEW customer, who found myself in a real jam, with a lot of complex needs that required experienced professionals who knew what the heck they would be doing, and I got exactly that.

Mike was traffic. Cleaned two drains and a vent pipe. The drainage system was a mess. Mike came in and did the work unnoticed. The job is a dirty one but Mike did a great job. It looked like he was even here. I highly recommend Metcalf

Lou Jones was amazing. He loves his job. He has been a plumber for over 40 years. He was on time, early actually. He wore a mask for covid protection. He was friendly and honest. He diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes without the use of his snake camera or anything. I had another service Michael and Sons who came here about a year ago and charged hundreds of dollars and kept upselling quoting over 2 thousand dollars and I asked them to leave. I was so terrified I was going to get ripped off or swindled again but I wasn't. I appreciate Lou Jones. He fixed the leak had the part in his truck was here less than an hour and did amazing work. God bless Lou Jones and I thank Metcalf too. He is the best I will be calling Metcalf for all my plumbing needs forever if Lou is working there. I called the day of service. Other places gave me a week out. It's like they really were concerned about the leak and wanted to fit me in. Thank you thank you thank you. Oh and the price was only 274.00 which was very very reasonable, inexpensive really. Other places were charging 170 for just a diagnostic fee. My fee was applied to the parts and services. This place is the best. Thank you

I was very impressed with the service. Mike was on time, replaced my sump pump in record time and explained everything he did and was nice enough to look at my showerhead when that wasn’t the reason for my call to Metcalf. I will definitely use their services again.

If you need plumbing services, do yourself a favor and call Metcalf! Highly skilled plumbers and super helpful staff answering the phones. We had them replace a broken sump pump and based on that work and how thorough they were in making sure to check outside to see where it emptied before even replacing the unit, we called back when the garbage disposal died. New garbage disposal was put in and “Mom’s Diner” is back in business. We also wanted an estimate and advice on rerouting the sump pump flow to stop erosion under a patio, so Metcalf sent the same plumber because he had replaced the sump pump and was familiar with how it originally drained. Could not be more satisfied with the work. Chris is incredibly talented and clearly in the right career!

I don’t normally like to spend time writing reviews. Metcalf is however an exceptional business. Stephanie is a pleasure to speak to and is very diligent in coordinating appointments/schedules. In the almost 3 years that I’ve been a homeowner I’ve had this phantom leak caused by the guest room shower. Finally, it was consistent enough that I called a plumber. 3 plumbers and an HVAC company later i finally found Metcalf. Mike, my plumber, was respectful and knowledgeable. He treated my situation with care which meant the world to me. His knowledge and expertise allowed the problem to be correctly diagnosed and actually fixed! He is a professional in his work and how he treats his customers. I’m very happy with their service and would call them again!

On time and professional

Called 4 different places with 3 different quotes. Metcalf came out shortly after I called and undercut the other plumbers in my area. They also were direct with the cost vs trying to base it on hours estimates and parts estimate. Was almost going to give up but these guys were easy to work with and handled the problem right there and waited around for the glue to seal before checking there own work and finishing up. Couldn't be happier and after some research, they directly took care of the problem vs some of the other solutions I was hearing were ways to just charge me more things I did not need. All in all I will be calling these guys again if I have any plumbing/piping issues.

Lou Jones, installed new fixtures(toilet and new spigots on sink) Also installed a new Vinyl floor. Cut and installed a new subfloor. Removed and reinstalled the base board that was taken from the room,Very carefully so that he could reinstall on the the walls and had the vinyl floor edges under the baseboards per the contract. Left a very clean work space and work areas.

Mike M was super! He explained about the noises in the pipes and the possible causes. He was able to determine an issue with the pressure reducing valve and replace in the same service call. He addressed my other questions and tested all of the faucets to make sure I was happy with everything. Sunday morning I discovered the pipe leading out of the hot water heater was leaking, spraying water in the basement. I called and spoke to Metccalf, the person I spoke to was able to direct me where to turn the water off to the water heater to stop the leak. As promised, we received a call shortly after 7:30am. Due to a cancellation we were able to get an 8-8:30am window. Crew arrived minutes before 8:00, and were able to repair the leak. The cost was very reasonable given the current economy. I would definitely use Metcalf again.

Honest and fair

Mike and Alan were fantastic and professional from the get go. It's a 97 year old house so was a challenging job that required getting into odd walls, but the did it with the minimum possible intrusion. They finished in a day and left the areas they worked cleaner than when they started.

Not yet, but Michael came to give me an estimate and he was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave excellent advice on how to fix my plumbing problems!

Called Metcalf because we had an issue with our sump pump drain not draining to the curb. It caused flooding with some rain earlier in the week. When I called Metcalf, after learning we were expecting more rain, they immediately came out to get it fixed before the rain came. Mike and Allen were very professional, and spent extra time after clearing the clog to make sure the water was running clear to ensure all blockages or potential blockages were gone. Highly recommend this company and these technicians. Great experience and a fair price.

Chris was also very knowledgeable; his professional insights helped me decide how to resolve one problem that unfortunately could not be fixed. I should have looked on Yelp. They replaced a garbage disposal for me. They just did the work, thirty minutes or so, and charged $387! The plumber was nice and did good work, but this price is way too high for this service. The new disposal was only $120 at Home Depot.

Mr. Lou is professional, explained what he was going to do and completed the job in a timely manner. He answered all questions I had and gave me some helpful suggestions regarding facets and drains. Will use this company again when I need plumbing repair.

The plumber, Chris, was very professional and able to complete the installation of the faucet quickly. He cleaned up afterwards and reinspected his job. Might be a bit pricey, but that is to be expected when you use professionals.

Metcalf was phenomenal. We called them to install a Gas Line in our kitchen(for a gas range) and they were extremely prompt and did the job at an amazing price. Chris, the technician, was phenomenal and helped walk us through the process and was so helpful and communicative throughout the install. They went through getting the necessary permits etc. I highly recommend!

Quality of work good, pretty responsive although scheduling and communication is erratic - depends if they have repairs to do, employees are really professional and have good customer service. It’s nice to use local but I will be shopping around next time.

Very responsive to water emergency

Had a water main break in my basement, below shutoff value, on a Sunday night. Water spewing into my house. I called Metcalf Plumbing after hours line and spoke with the owner, Leslie. He personally came to my house within 20 minutes. Local fire department was on hand but they couldn't shutoff the water valve at the street. Leslie had the right tools on hand and shut off the water. He came back early the next morning and promptly fixed the broken pipe fitting, turned the water back on and I'm good to go. Amazing service!

If I could give a 10 star rating, I would. Excellent work!! Mike was prepared with options and pamphlets full of information to help me choose the right equipment for my situation. He was pleasant and professional, was on time, worked quickly and made me feel like I was in excellent hands. I definitely recommend this company based on my experience with a water heater install 2 years ago and now the sump pump upgrade.

I thought that my dishwasher was leaking, but the repair rep discovered that it was my kitchen sink, and it had been leaking for some time. I called another plumbing company, but they couldn't get here for several days. I then called Metcalf and they were able to send someone out in a few hours. Chris diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it.

Plumbers are polite and respectful. They took extra care to not make a mess and clean up what little mess they did make.

Another great experience; tech was on time, upfront and honest. Also gave me different pricing options and recommendations and even found additional issues I was unaware, such as non-functioning sump pump. Tech was prepared with all necessary materials, and completed the work in a very timely fashion.

Got a few different estimates to have my PolyBlue water line replaced proactively, as several of my neighbors have had pipes burst in their front yards. Les was professional and honest about everything. Metcalf was the only company who said they’d try their best to protect the tree in the front yard, and also put up a panel to cover the hole they needed to cut in my basement drywall.

They finished the whole job in one day. The basement wall looks clean, they brought my hot water tank up to code, and the front yard has been re-seeded so the grass can grow back.

There was a bit of a miscommunication over scheduling with the dispatcher on the phone, but we worked it out, and all the guys that came to my house were solid. Next time I need plumbing work, I will call Metcalf.

I used Metcalf for purchase and installation of a new water heater and for fixing some unrelated broken valves. They were the most reasonable on price and they’ve been incredibly courteous and professional both times from their office team to the technicians (including Chris most recently).

Ice maker installation

I had gotten three quotes from other plumbing companies to replace the entire drain stack in my home. None of the quotes really specified what work was to be done and the prices were magically round numbers pulled from thin air. Mike Munson from Metcalf plumbing came out and gave me a detailed quote listing exactly what was going to be done.

He and an assistant arrived on time, covered the floors with drop clothes, and went work. It took about seven hours to tear out the existing cast iron stack from the vent pipe on the roof all the way down to the main sewer line in the crawlspace. He then rebuilt everything using PVC. He positioned the sink, toilet, and tub connections perfectly so I could connect those items in when they were installed.

Mike was knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. He was assisted by Allen who was an apprentice and also did good work.

Metcalf is my new go-to plumbing company for all of my plumbing work.

I cannot recommend Metcalf enough! This is the second time they have done work on my house (the first was some gas line work--they were about 20% less than my other quotes at that time). This time, I called on a Sunday evening with a suspected sewage line block, expecting a voice-mail, but they answered the phone and scheduled me for first thing the next morning! Mike and Allen came out the next day, with a reasonable quote that fixed the problem. They were very professional, both wore masks (during these COVID times), and left things even cleaner than when they arrived. They also did a great job explaining the problem and answered additional questions about future work I hope to have done. I would not go with anyone else.

Mike M recently installed an outdoor water faucet / bib. While Mike was in the crawl space determining the logistics behind the install, he figured out why we were having a major fly infestation (unrelated issue). We actually had an appointment for an exterminator later in the day, but Mike explained the issue to me and how to easily fix the problem. It would have cost me a good $300-$500, but because of Mike it ran me around $2.50 at Ace and we haven't seen a fly since. Plus, the installation on the outdoor bib was incredible! It was by accident that I found out about Metcalf. The water from my kitchen sink was not draining properly and also water was collecting in the dishwasher and not draining. Mike immediately saw the problem and fixed it. In fact he made an adjustment on my garbage disposal that also contributed to the dishwasher not draining properly. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family. I'm sure the other plumbers at Metcalf are good also but I would definitely ask for Mike again. So professional, so pleasant, very thorough in making sure everything was right before he finished up. We even shared a few laughs. I might add one other thing about cost. It was very reasonable.

I recently purchased a new home, and quickly discovered that the water pressure was very low throughout the whole house. For example, if I ran more than one appliance, and went to wash my hands - the water would trickle out of the faucet.

I called Metcalf Plumbing, and within a few hours of my initial call, Louis was at my home and diagnosed the issue - that I needed a new water line as my galvanized line from 1950 was deteriorating. Metcalf was the first plumbing service I called, but I did try others to get a second opinion/estimate. Metcalf was mid-range on the estimates I received, but I chose to hire them to complete the service as they were the most responsive and prompt. I had the most confidence in their service, and rightfully so - my water line replacement was completed on time and in less than a day! Everything is working great now thanks to Metcalf. I will use them again, and I recommend you hire them for your home's plumbing needs as well.

**Update: I had an issue recently with my full downstairs bathroom. The shower was squealing, and half the water came out of the tub faucet rather than the shower head. Mike M came out today and was prompt, courteous, and knowledgable. He quickly diagnosed the issue and provided us with a couple of options (he could rebuild the unit or replace the unit). We opted for replacement, and he took care of it on the spot! As always, we were very pleased with the work! Thanks Mike & Metcalf!

This company is the best! My experience started with the owner (Les Metcalf) coming out personally to give me a full explanation of the work he could perform. Followed by their awesome office staff person (Danielle) contacting me to provide the quote and schedule the best day for them to perform the work. On the morning they did the work, I received a text message stating the project manager was in route to my home and his photo was included for security and identification. He showed up at the agreed upon time, and reviewed the work I discussed to be performed with the owner. The crew arrived next and within 4 hours they were done and my water was restored. Everyone was professional, efficient and had great attitudes! I’d select Metcalf Plumbing again for any future plumbing needs in my home.

I’ve used Metcalf plumbing twice within the last year and truly can not speak highly enough of them. Both times I called, I had a technician to my house within an hour of calling. Christopher helped replace my leaking shower faucet . Today Adam replaced my cracked and leaking garbage disposal. I wish I could rate these guys higher. Seriously. We have been hit by the constant flooding in 2018. We first brought them out in May to replace a water heater that was lost in the first flood which was a sewage backup. Not only did they replace it painlessly and quick, the owner, Les, provided me a written justification to give to my insurance as to why it was necessary to replace and not repair. Insurance covered it.

We got hit with a second sewage flood in late July. I called around midnight on a sunday to leave a message to have them come out Monday and evaluate some solutions. Not only does Les answer the phone, he answers the phone while on vacation. He was over my house in the next day or so and began proposing some solutions. We decided to cap our drain lines off in the basement . Les was upfront about timelines and actually had a crew out earlier than estimated. Mike and (sorry I can't recall the second guys name) were done work in about 2 hours.

Later that same night, we got hit yet again. My wife and I called them (somewhat distraught). Les showed up in person wearing shorts and a T-Shirt (on a friday evening I might add). He evaluted the work his guys did earlier. No fault with their installations. We were able to determine that there was also a ground water issue. The icing on the cake of this experience was the fact that he helped me shovel water out of my basement until almost 9:00 at night.

Les stated he would help us try to work with our insurance and mortgage to obtain coverage for additional water solutions. I don't know if we will get that coverage, but just that fact that Les and his crew go far above and beyond for their customers has ensured that I will be calling them for any and all plumbing issues.

Chris did a great job replacing a leaky valve under my kitchen sink and in advising me about next steps with regard to my 27 year old dishwasher. He also did a great job replacing the insides of a leaky toilet bowl. He was ontime, knowledgable and friendly.

Our water heater started leaking and we called Metcalf first thing in the morning. Metcalf plumbing came over and gave me same-day service. They repaired my boiler and were quick knowledgeable and courteous. As a former general contractor I can say that Metcalf Plumbing is the best out there and at a reasonable price.

They came out to fix faucet. Faucet still leaked after first visit. Called back and the girl on the phone said the notes said they could fix it and had the parts needed. Waited 2 days, they came out and charged me again to be told it needs replaced. The receptionists need better training, wrong information was provided to me that wasted my time and money. If correct information was provided I could have just bought a faucet and saved the money of a second diagnostic visit for the same issue.

Chris of Metcalf was professional, efficient and on time. He replaced our Water Pressure Valve and stuck around to make sure it was done successfully, which it was.

Michael came in on a cold rainy day and was very professional, polite and easy to engage. We discussed the issue went through fixes I had attempted, and decided on a course of action. He checked a few areas and then removed and soldered on a new valve. He checked the correction and it was successful. He then went through each section of the plumbing to make sure nothing else would have been affected. Each time he has to get more tools he stopped removed his foot coverings, upon return he wiped his feet and put the coverings back on.
As with all things in the last year it’s costly but I do not mind the cost of it’s done right the first time and and corrected in the right manner. I would recommend this firm.

After being turned down by the plumber that Home Depot assigned, giving no explanation, I went to the store to find another plumber. There was no way to select another plumber using Home Depots website, and no way to do it using my phone. I went to the HD store where I had purchased the water heater, and a helpful woman at the service desk called another plumber and left a message for him to call me. Sh then suggested I visit another HD store, where sh said this plumber could be found. Speaking to a very helpful plumbing dept rep, I learned that NONE of the HD plumbers would do my install because it had a Ground Source Heat Pump connection. Very disapointed with HD for not making it easy to connect with a plumber, and not showing the limitations of their capability v/v GSHP.

Metcalf said no problem and did the excellent installation work the next day.

We had a leak from the gas line leading to our dryer. Someone recommended Metcalf Plumbing, so we gave them a call. I called around 9:00 and the technicians arrived at 1:00 that same day. The technicians were prompt, professional, and kind. They were able to identify the leak quickly and fix it, all within a half hour. The total cost was $59, which we found extremely affordable given the quotes we received from other companies. All in all, we had a great experience and would happily recommended them to anyone in need of plumbing services!

Mike and Allen performed a hot water heater flush and installed a PVC drain pipe from the pan underneath the hot water heater into a floor drain I already had in the basement. Now if the heater were to leak, the water will drain into the floor drain versus the basement floor. Mike has worked on several plumbing projects for me. I have always been very satisfied with the quality of his work. Mike pays close attention to details and takes pride in accomplishing a job that both the customer and himself are satisfied with before leaving the job site. We called Metcalf on a Monday, the owner came out a day later and gave me a fair quote with honest recommendations. Scheduled the work for Thursday (2 days later) but they could accommodated it even sooner. Metcalf gave me a two hour window and they arrived 5 minutes into that window with text message notifications ahead of time and were done on-time. I really appreciate that they adhered to that schedule. They didn't disturb my family with too much noise. They were very professional and courteous. They cleaned up the site when they were done and all-in-all I'm really pleased with the work.

Plumber fixed flange, set new toliet, 1 hour labor, all materials were already at job to set the toliet including the toliet, travel distance was less than a mile from their shop to me and he charged me $565.00. I feel very taken advantage of. Further, the receipt clearly stated remove existing toliet THERE WAS NO TOLIET TO REMOVE. No phone call from Plumber to explain.

The next morning around 0900 Metcalf texted me that Mike Munson was on his way out.
