Completely unimpressed. I called them this morning just before 9am during their business hours. Their answering service picked-up and I relayed that I wanted to simply speak to someone at the company for about 10m to determine if the project we had was a good fit for them. She proceeded to ask me several questions to gather my contact information and then informed me that no one was available. She offered to schedule a quick call, but the next available time was TWO DAYS later. I politely declined. If this is the kind of intimacy and customer service Phoenix Home Remodeling delivers, I do not plan on ever being a customer.

EDIT on June 24, 2021: After reading this company's response, I increased my rating to 3*. While the response was fair, I do think the impersonal nature of an answering service (not actual company employees), coupled with the fact that availability for a very quick initial discussion was a full 2 days later would still keep me away from engaging. If I am going to work with someone on a project, I'd like to believe that the importance of a quicker response time and a more personal, direct interaction is paramount. Speaking to a third party service tasked only to gather my contact information and mechanically schedule a ~10m call 48 hours in advance does not give me the sense that this company is eager to engage their client base. That said, given the fact that I did NOT use their services, 1* admittedly felt harsh. I wish PHR the best of luck and strongly suggest they reconsider their screening process.

14 months and still waiting for completion of a 360 Sq Ft Casita. Unfinished roof has molded and has to be replaced. Blueprint descripancy between company and county compliances!

Everything was done great. I would definitely recommend them a five star for their great quality work.

Norm the maintenance man came today to do a few things in my apartment he was on time and his work is excellent and got it in a good time manner and frame done

Just remodel was at the Home Show and I gave him my number for a free in home estimate. He came out in 2 weeks and took measurements and said he would send me an estimate in about 2 weeks. After a month had gone by, I hadn't heard from Don Houghs. (The owner) I left him a few voicemails and heard nothing. 2 months later I received a text message saying he had withdrawn from the bidding process. When I asked why, he said he was too busy to take on my job. After 2 months? Didn't even have the courtesy to call me and speak with me. Just a text. I wouldn't use this company ever again. Very unprofessional....

My husband and I hired Ben from Champion Remodel. Ben and his team gave us the quality we were hoping for. We are very pleased with the results. We hired him to re-do our kitchen, 2 bathrooms and all the flooring throughout the entire first floor. All of the finishes were purchased by us and Ben put the whole job together! I am a not just a fan or Dion and the professionalism of his team-- I am a raving fan. We have had multiple issues with other contractors for home repairs that just weren't done properly. My house had stucco work that had been damaged by moisture and rain, ceiling work and painting from wear and tear, and interior painting and drywall work. Dion's crew genuinely cared about how clean our house needed to be, the procedures they needed to follow, the quality of service, post-repair clean up and the time frame our project needed to be completed. I would certainly hire Dion and his team as our GC in heartbeat for our home improvement needs.

We did a total remodel of our house. When I wasn’t happy with something, they fixed it. They weren’t good about cleaning up after themselves. I told them I wanted the ceilings painted white, but Jake picked his own color of off white. One of the windows they put in was faulty and months later they replaced it, had it stuccoed, but never came back to paint it. They don’t respond to my texts. I painted it myself. We are happy with the end result, but you have to keep on them.

We have had Shannon and the crew from Five40 do our Kitchen/family room remodel (‘17), guest bath (‘19), and master bath/closet (‘20). Each job was a complete gut and rebuild and required electrical, plumbing, framing, etc. the result of all 3 jobs was phenomenal. We could not have been happier, and we demonstrated that by contracting him for the two bathrooms after we did our kitchen. His quotes were competitive and the only significant change orders were because of design or material changes that we made midstream.

The the best thing about working with Shannon was that he didn’t come into our jobs with opinions about what we should do. Rather he listened to what we wanted and was always enthusiastic about the vision we had and did his best to make them happen.

If we need contracting work again in the future we will definitely us Five40 and enthusiastically recommend them.

OMG!!! We are in heaven!!! We remodeled our upstairs master bathroom to accommodate my pending hip re-replacement which would require a 3 month recovery. I needed a handicap accessible bathroom! Derek suggested an Aqua Therapy Tub with jets, light therapy, and macro bubbler to exfoliate the skin and leave it baby soft. It’s AMAZING!!! I highly recommend the tub! Derek also extended the shower to accommodate a wheelchair and added a handheld shower head along with a rain shower head. The shower experience is just as amazing as the tub...well, almost! Derek’s work is phenomenal! He is very knowledgeable, detailed and meticulous with his work. And he is very accommodating and easy to work with. He’s a very friendly guy who has made our remodel a very pleasant experience. We HIGHLY recommend derek@aquatherapytubs to remodel/upgrade your bathroom as well. You’ll be glad you did!

We are in the process of remediating a complete remodel that had gone wrong with another builder. We tapped 4 GEN for the remediation and we cannot speak highly enough about 4 GEN Homes and David.

Background: we were new to Arizona and the previous builder we had hired to remodel our recently purchased home — after 16 months of ongoing workmanship problems and error — left us with a complete disaster and abandoned the project: having falsified their licensing, falsified their insurance, having not pulled a valid or legitimate permit, or having proper inspections done, and hiring many to perform work who were not licensed or properly skilled. You can imagine how difficult it would be to discover this after the fact, and what a complete mess and stress this would create in so many different ways. Any whole house remodel is, by itself, a daunting process in which you feel lost and need the guidance of an expert contractor. Given the difficult situation we were left with we needed someone to come in and not only do a whole house remodel (complex as that is), but, adding to that complexity, to remediate a remodel that had gone very wrong. Not many would be able or willing to take this on.

We are so thankful that we found 4 GEN Homes / David Mikes, and that he was willing to take on this huge problem for us. He is an amazing contractor — he listens, he is calm, always pleasant, very careful, intelligent, insightful, and experienced; and he speaks, consults, and guides us with the authority of confident construction expertise and extensive home building experience, and yet without ever presuming upon us. He is reassuring in how he counsels. He also has a cadre of vetted professional subcontractors he’s used many times and knows they can perform the work to an acceptable level — he’s not trying to find just any subs as he goes along. He takes the chaos of the situation and calmly organizes it and makes it seem manageable and clear, and he always wants to come to the right result and covers nothing up that needs to be done right. He is your advocate, not primarily an advocate for the subs or workers. He usually answers calls or quickly returns calls or messages and is always ready to help and address any concern — and he is usually way ahead of you in identifying any issue. If you bring it up, it’s likely he’s already on it. His eye for due care and detail is likely better than yours.

Another reviewer said David treats you like family. I would wholly concur with that.

I used Power Home Remodeling for my first home project: new windows + sliding door installation. From the free estimate appointment, to the pre-installation inspection, all the way through completion of the project, every single person I spoke with + both work crews were PHENOMENAL! They explained everything in depth and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The crews that came to do the installations were prompt, professional & so nice. We ended up having to install the door on a separate day, and they made the additional scheduling so easy by working around my schedule and being flexible. If I find something else to update around my home, I’ll be giving them a call. Definitely plan on referring friends and family!

Matt and Manny replaced my bath/shower combo and installed a modern walk-in shower. They were on time, professional and courteous. Matt explained the process every step of the way. They did an awesome job! I would use Jacuzzi & Bath again and would request Matt and Manny, if possible, because they did a great job!!
