I had a water main break so I need the line to be rerouted. Contacted A-Better to get an estimate for the job. They asked me to take a few pictures to send to them. The estimate came back at 1995 - 2400. The next day they send out a plumber to take a look and came back with a FIXED cost proposal with two options 1999 and 2400(for running pipe inside the wall). I really like the fact that Carla the office lady was prompt in answering all my questions via texts and emails so as leaving no doubt about the details of the job. Their price was several hundreds lower than the other bids so I picked them. They show up on time and got the job completed within 1 and half day. Very professional work. There was a minor issue but the plumber promptly called me to discuss the concern and took care of it the next day. Overall I was very happy that I contacted them for the job. They will be the first one I call should I need any plumbing work in the future. Again dealing with someone like A-Better who is willing to give me a fixed price bid gave me a great peace of mind. Called Mr. McKinney and he responded the same day and provided excellent service repairing a kitchen drain pipe. He was professional and had a great attitude. I sent him photos of my problem and he quickly responded with a very reasonable quote to do the job. No hidden cost or games. I would highly recommend him. He will be my go to plumber for sure when I need plumbing service.

Our 18 yo water heater started leaking water on a Sunday morning. I called George Morlan and they picked up on the 2nd ring. He took all of my information, gave me a flat cost that included a new water heater plus labor costs and said someone could be out the next day. I loved that they give you the cost upfront. Many other companies need a technician to come out and give you an estimate. I was too impatient and we were without hot water. I’m so happy we went with George Morlan!!

Fantastic assistance! Very helpful in teaching me about water system maintenance on my own. A repeat client is something I plan on using frequently.

I have used Brian for over 10 years. Up until now, he’s been very good (which is why I cannot give him 1 star) but it seems he’s gotten busier and busier. Unfortunately, it seems he’s unable to keep up with business, or get back to people when he says he will. He recently came to my rental property to look at a faucet and sink. He showed up and spent minutes looking at the issue and stated he’d get back with me regarding the cost to fix, since I was off-site.

That was two weeks ago. I called the office and Brian every day for a week, and sent text messages. All have been ignored, or Brian has responded saying “I’ll call you in a bit”. Well, it must be a reall big and long bit, because I’ve received no correspondence whatsoever, and I’ve called to complain about that. I did however receive a text message from the office stating “They can pound sand!” And then was promptly told that it was not directed toward me but for a delivery they were waiting for.

I called Legacy Friday when my toilets stopped flushing and were backing up sewage into our only tub/shower. I spoke with Lavetta and explained our problem and how I needed someone out soon as I have two small children that I need to bathe and we are completely without toilets for the weekend. After seeming uninterested in helping for some reason, she said they will be out first thing Monday morning between 8:30-9 am. Monday morning rolls around, I’m waiting and waiting and nobody comes. Around 9:10 I call the office and she says “oh we had a couple emergencies come in over the weekend and we moved you to Tuesday.” I said “we are completely without plumbing, that’s not an emergency?” Then she lied and said she had told me Tuesday and kept asking me why I had called them to come out versus another company? Waste of my time and completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I DO NOT recommend wasting your time with these people.

I had a problem on a Saturday. I called early in the morning and had to leave a message. My call was returned very early. I was given a quote and an appointment time. The gentleman was on time the work requested was done well , the repairman was very professional and I was actually charged what was quoted. I will definitely be calling this company again.

Jamaica Plain is clearly listed as a service area on their website, and it's only 2 miles from their address, but when I called I was told they don't service this area and they won't give a reason. If you don't service this area then don't listed it on your website and waste customer's time!

Great service! I have a 'tankless water heater' & no one really knew what to do. They sent a guy out to my house that knew EXACTLY what the deal was! Could no recommend them enough.
