Best Plumbing Maintenance in Chesapeake VA

After my water heater stopped working one morning, I called Premier Plumbing because I remembered using them in the past. The technicians showed up looked at the hot water heater for a few minutes and said I needed a new one. I said ok and prepared for the worst. The technician went out to his truck to draw up a quote. My best guess estimate, after looking at pricing was around $1,100 or so. The technician returned with a quote of $2,250. I respectfully declined and ended up paying $180 for them to simply look at it and give a quote. I proceeded to Lowe’s and found a suitable hot water heater with similar specifications and talked to the Lowe’s installation team and received a unit/installation quote for $1,278 before discount. After discount $1,237. $1,237 compared to $2,250 for essentially the same thing is easy for even a dummy like me to decide. Don’t even call them. Check with Lowe’s or Home Depot first and you will save yourself $180.

After hours of calling other companies, Ali-Cor was at our house within an hour of reaching them. Our main water valve was broken and they were able to quickly fix it and get our water back on! They were very professional and did amazing work.

We had an inspection done by a company that quoted us nearly 5 grand in repairs. I called Brown Plumbing and Septic for a second opinion and they were so kind and helpful from the get go. They were out to our home within 30 minutes to re inspect and repair our system. They had it all completed in a few hours for less than half the cost we were originally quoted, and let my husband watch and learn throughout the process. Honest people and great service. I wish we would have called them first! 10/10 will recommend. Don’t waste your time or money elsewhere.

Had the team out to fix my dinosaur unit. I was happy they didn’t push to replace the unit. The part needed was back ordered, so we went a while without ac. But when it came in, Kitty, got us scheduled the next day. The job took less time and when it still didn’t work, they came back the next day and fixed the problem. Im very happy with their service and will be using them in the future when it comes time to replace the whole system.

We called them for an emergency repair of main water shut off gate valve that broke completely. We had to hold the broken stem into the valve where the turning wheel would normally go to prevent water from gushing out (like a jet). Of the three companies we called, Michael & Son (M&S) was the one that was scheduled to arrive first (about a little over 45 minutes to an hour), and arrived first. The second company arrived about 30-45 minutes later and was scheduled to arrive no later than 8:00 PM, this started at 2:30 PM. Still gladly we paid their emergency call fee as agreed since he still had to drive out from across the tunnel. The second company had installed the tankless water heater back in 2014. The third company that advertises 1-hour response time, could not make it out until the next day, so they were definitely out.Seth was our technician from M&S. He explained everything including the potential issues that might arise, and how he could resolve them or in one case could not (drywall repair). All were acceptable resolutions or things we would have to take care of. He showed part of our cohort how to shutoff the water from the street, we just need to get the tool for that tomorrow. He proceeded to replace the main water shut off gate valve with a ball valve. The ball valve is easier to turn, more durable, and I don't think it can be broken. Seth also provided recommendations and tips (like turning off your water if you are going on travel for a period of time, turning the handle slowly, winterizing your faucets using covers, and other general questions we had).This was not the first time one of us had dealt with them. The other half had a property across the water. He had M&S replace the HVAC system. He said they were very professional, and did a great job. He would use them again.We will definitely call them for an estimate for non-emergency issues/things we need done.** EDIT ** I have to thank Lavonda (sp?) too. She took my call while I was basically panicking. She calmed me down, dispatched the plumber, and listened!Attached is a picture of the broken gate valve. What one of my kid's plumber apprentice friend (not affiliated with M&S) called garbage valves. The repair cost a little bit more than we guesstimated, but it was well worth it. As for the busted gate valve, you can see that inside the hole there is material from where the stem (wheel turn thing) sheared off.Finally Seth did tell us that he does get calls for the same issue, broken gate valves. If your main shutoff is one of those valves, we highly recommend making a non-emergency appointment to replace it with a ball valve.

I can't say how thankful and wonderful Mr. Martin and his colleague were this evening! They were very quick to respond to my problem, addressed my issue with quickness and had my a/c back up and running in no time! I would high recommend him to anyone with any issue they fix. He will be my ac guy from now on. Also very inexpensive which was a huge bonus! Thank you again for your reliable service :)

I called about a leak at 4:30 and Dave arrived by 6:30. He was very professional and even wore booties over his shoes to protect my carpet. He was able to diagnose and repair the problem within a short period of time. Hopefully, I won't have any further plumbing issues but if I do, I will be calling Roto-Rooter. Thank you.

This our second time using this plumber. We highly recommend this small business with hometown feel. Professional same day service. Owner, David, came and advised us of the situation and saved us a bunch of money. He made us feel like our safety was a priority.

Didn't want to write an estimate for a job over 500.00 or so - we wanted to know what and how much - didn't need the work I guess , we will find someone else, more honest company

Had really great experience with Lanthorn Plumbing. after purchasing the part i needed, which they recommended, the technician efficiently repaired my water heater. i highly recommend you ask for Logan Mills to do your water heater repairs. in and out within an hour and a half.

Needed a complete HVAC system replaced. Russell's was the 5th estimate we received. They weren't the cheapest, which I don't think someone wants for an HVAC, but they did offer several brands of systems at different price points. They listened to what issues we were experiencing with our old system and made sure to address those with our new system. The installers arrived on time and worked the entire time...almost 10 hours straight to ensure our system was installed in one day and we had heat that evening. Great experience so far and would highly recommend

The workers were exceptionally friendly but professional. They made sure my house was protected from and debris or dirt. They worked diligently and each trip up/downstairs I got a smile or hello! Patrick and Jonathan came by petiote check on progress. The head in charge was very patient explaining everything new to me and helping me set my new thermostat. Such patience and kindness and professional standards makes me glad I had S & K.

5/3 - EDITED, Update below original review.I really can't understand how a company that charges twice the going rate for a service can get such good reviews on here. Yes, they do good work and they show up promptly, but I was charged over $1700 for a gas water heater replacement, and the going rate is between $600 and $800. The worst part was, I knew I was being ripped off, and even told the technician his quote was ridiculously high, but because I'm a military wife with young children and my husband is currently away, I didn't have enough time or resources to be able to find another plumber before the weekend started, and I had to go with their insanely priced estimate. I had warning bells going from the minute they told me they would charge me $65 for the diagnostic (though I already knew what was wrong, just wasn't about to tackle that complicated of a job myself). But because someone had recommended them and their google reviews were good, I proceeded with the service call. And, despite the fact that my military base stickers are on my car, which the technician saw, he certainly didn't mention their military discount when he ran the numbers. If you're in an emergency situation and willing to pay more than twice the rate you'd otherwise pay for a decently-done job, go ahead and call them - but I will NEVER AGAIN do so. Lesson learned.UPDATE: The owner, Jim Steinle, contacted me and expressed deep concern over my experience. This company is absolutely on point when it comes to their customer service; I wasn't happy, and he made it right by listening to my concerns as well as refunding my account a significant amount to defray the cost that I had paid. Very impressed by their commitment to stand by their guarantee of 100% customer satisfaction. Again, their work was solid, their technician polite and on time, and the work completed in a timely fashion.

My ac went out last night, they were able to see me the same day I called, the techs were very helpful and friendly. They explained everything to me before and after. The price was reasonable and one of the cheaper service charges I found. Very happy with the entire experience! Thank you guys!
