I purchased a very expensive boiler (20k) last winter for them for our radiator heat.  They came to try to fix the old unit and said that our only option was a new one.  After some debate, we moved forward.  The installation itself was OK.  They left the basement door open for most of the time, and I had to ask them several times to close it because we were freezing.  I tried to ask them how it was going while they installed it, and they would barely respond.  Given the cost, I don't think this was unreasonable.  After the install, it stopped working completely after about 7 days.  I was pretty upset. They sent out a technician off hours who had no idea how to fix it. It turns out that the reason it stopped working was because the exhaust valve was installed incorrectly.  Apparently, it wasn't windy the day of the install, but there was more wind later on, so it needed to be installed differently.  Yikes. It works well now in terms of heating up the home.  I will say that the cost savings from this unit were not at all what they told us. The salesman made all sorts of claims about all the money we would save to run the unit.  All of that wasn't true.  It is cheaper to run our forced air units (although the radiator heat is much better; it heats evenly, there is no dust blowing around, etc.). We do love the radiator heat, but it isn't cheaper.  Maybe it is cheaper than a 50-year-old boiler, but he knew that wasn't our situation.  We weren't using the radiator heat at that time, which is why they were there in the first place.  All of this was really disappointing, but today, after switching back from Hoffman, I had someone out for a separate issue, and he was asking me about the unit.  Apparently, we could have gotten a similar unit and used it for our hot water as well.  He said it would have been another ~$1,000 (compared to getting a new $3000 water heater).  I remember the salesperson mentioning that as an option very briefly, and I expressed some interest.  I don't really know what happened in that particular part of the discussion after that, but at the very least I didn't understand the options, because it appears like it would have been a no-brainer based on what I am hearing today.  I have no idea what to believe on this particular issue, but it just added to my overall disappointment about the experience, which is why I am writing this review.

I recently was having rain water come up through the basement floor. The carpet was so soggy and this was not the first time it had happened. This time, the carpet was so saturated, I knew I could not salvage it. The water was located in 2 of the bedrooms and was it was getting worse. I was desperate to not have the water get to the family room carpet. I called Midwest Flood Restoration late Friday night. I was so thankful that Mike called me back later Friday night and said he would be here first thing on Saturday morning. On Saturday morning he arrived at 7:45 am!! He looked at the situation and we decided the best thing would be to get the 2 bedroom carpets removed. Much to my surprise he said he could have a crew here by 11:00 am. The crew was here at 11:00 am and pulled the carpet, moved furniture and hauled all the wet carpet out in bags, NO MESS! I was very, very thankful. Mike and his crew were so very kind, helpful, timely and professional! It is certainly a pleasure doing business with a company that has these timely and high work ethics! Came right over in brutally cold weather. Had frozen pipes which they inspected and recommended what to do. Didn’t try to sell us anything else. Pleasure to work with.

I agree with all the other bad reviews, the company was very quick to get their money upfront - but when you needed to get the camera footage & documentation from them, they dragged their feet & waited almost 3 weeks to give me critical documents to close on a property. I practically had to call everyday to get 2 documents! This is unacceptable & completely unprofessional. There are so many better companies that actually care about their own customer’s deadlines. Highly advise NOT using them as I will never use them again.

Installed a dishwasher!! They were outstanding!!! They arrived on time and were very professional! I have used them in the past and they are the only plumbers that I trust in my house!! The quoted price was the fee they charged!! I can’t say enough about them!! They were finished in a little over two hours; they tested the lines for leaks before cleaning up!! Superior service!!
