Always reliable!

They have always done great work for us. We have an old house -- things wear out and break down -- and the Redington crew have always taken good care of our problems. Quality work, on time, on budget -- exactly as it should be.

They were able to get out to me the same day and the service guy was extremely friendly. He let me know right away what the problem was and gave me options on how to handle it.

They always sound so professional on the phone and those ladies in the office are a joy to talk to. Their technicians are always curtious and get the problems taken care of in a timely manner.

Came right over in brutally cold weather. Had frozen pipes which they inspected and recommended what to do. Didn’t try to sell us anything else. Pleasure to work with.

The negative reviews puzzled me so I felt compelled to tell my, more positive story about a great local company.

I hired Redington based on multiple personal recommendations and the initial interview with one of the owners. The scope of the project included replacement of the collapsed sewer line, stacks, new kitchen and baths, sump pump, and detection and repair of deteriorated gas lines in a mixed use building in the Tower Grove Heights neighborhood.

This was a historic restoration, so sensitivity to the existing structure combined with a strict budget made choosing the right contractors difficult. I could not have been more pleased with my decision to go with Redington. They were responsive and professional in all aspects of the project and even made suggestions on how to avoid maintenance problems in the future. Little on this project was standard so I especially appreciated that each plumber on the job adhered to the architect's plans and did their best to work with the other contractors on site to avoid costly delays in project completion.

Very helpful receptionist and technician. I had a leaky toilet. They came right out and fixed it very quickly.

Tim was awesome! Knowledgeable, fair and a hard worker. He cleaned up so well you would never have known he was actually here.

I reached out to them for an estimate on some work and got absolutely no response. Maybe they're so busy they don't need any work, but ignoring people who contact you just isn't good business.

Update: Thank you to the owner of this business for reaching out: I sent a request through your website on a weekday evening. It was 2 weeks after that I posted this review, which I just happened to do on a Sunday.

I finally found a great plumber. I have gone through so many plumbers over the years and I finally have one that is permanently in my preferred vendor list. Whatever I need, night or day, it gets done, right the first time and at the right price. Whether its a high end bathroom refit or a tenant emergency, Redington takes care of me. I've referred them to friends, family and other business partners and never had a complaint. Five starts all the way.

We engaged JE Redington to get to the bottom of a stubborn basement water problem. After so many trials and tribulations, I don't even remember what the final fix was. But they hung with us and found a solution which we appreciated very much. Not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for. I'm biased anyway as I'm a cheap sob sometimes :-) Thanks for the quality work guys.

I called for a service and it was originally accepted but then recvd a call back with bogus reason as to why they could not take the job. I called Kirkwood Plumbing and was able to get in with no problems. Customer Service person was rude and ignorant. I would not recommend this business.

We recently finished adding a bathroom and hired Reddington to do all the plumbing. From start to finish, I’ve been very impressed. Steve, who was here the most often, has been fantastic. Way to go, guys. Job well done.

I was purchasing my first house, and during the inspection process they found sub-standard plumbing repairs. I was referred to JE Redington Co by a friend and could not of been happier. They showed up on time and fixed the illegal work the right way. They even gave a quick inspection of the houses plumbing and told me problems to look out for in the future. I would like to sing the praises of J.E. Redington Co., a local plumbing company that has been in business for over 100 years. One week ago, on a Sat., my gas hot water heater of 18 years “died.” I first called a plumber I had used in the past and when his bid came in at over $3,000 for a basic 40-gal gas hot water heater, I called friends in the Commercial Construction business (VSP Construction & AJ Plumbing) for advice. It was then I was referred to J.E. Redington—I first researched this company on-line and the Better Business Bureau and found nothing but glowing reviews. After speaking to Tammie in their front office & their estimator, Rick Jr., I hired them; the installation was done on 2/11/22. J.E. Redington Co should not only get 5 stars, plus many more, but should also get awards for going the extra mile, excellent customer service, patience, kindness, and superior workmanship. No hidden costs, few, if any problems, just a job well-done. The Journeyman, Bill, was terrific and efficient and his apprentice, Brandon, was just the best. From Tammie in the front office, to Rick Jr., to everyone I’ve met at JE Redington, I now know why they call themselves “Your Home Town Plumber. Thank you J.E. Redington Co for being one of the few, most honest, most reliable companies out there today!

very expensive! charged $90 to come and tighten a faucet

Pretty large plumbing rerouting job and JE Redington came in on budget, were prompt, professional and most of all responsive! Highly recommended!!!

They overcharged me over $1500 more then estimate. They held us hostage because we had to close on our house and couldn't dispute the charge.

I needed a plumber to come to my animal hospital on an emergency basis but couldn't find anyone available. Despite being busy, Redington sent a plumber by right way to look at the situation. (I guess they could hear my anxiety, lol). The problem turned out NOT to be as big of an emergency as I thought. While they couldn't repair the problem that moment understandably, they did come back later the same day to follow up. Both of the men I interacted with were very professional and courteous. I HIGHLY recommend!

Great service and in a timely fashion. My water heater went out a few days before Christmas and they were able to get one installed around my schedule as I was leaving town for the holidays. Also, they noticed a few other issues with pipes once they were in my basement and fixed those without upping the quoted price. Happy customer here!

Good estimate, on time for the bid and the installation of our water heater. The technician that installed the water heater was friendly, knowledgeable and happy.The
office staff is responsive, friendly and kept us aware of any schedule changes. We are happy with J. E. Redington Plumbing and will be calling them for our next plumbing task.
