Getting an appointment on the morning I called, not to mention within an hour of my call, Reyna showed up and completed the job efficiently and professionally. It's comforting to know there's a business out there that takes pride and care for their customers-new and reoccurring.

We live in a 1940s home in uptown Vancouver that was having sewer problems. We had multiple sewer backups into our basement that was really getting frustrating. We had several plumbers come out and tell us our old pipes were collapsing and being infiltrated with tree roots. Their solution was to dig up our whole backyard and replace the pipes - that were about 9 feet down in some places. The cost of this? Over $15,000 and we would be left with a ruined backyard and the cost to replace all the established trees and landscaping. We started to search for another solution. In our search we came across David at Sewer Renewal. He came out and discovered some things that we didn't know and worked with our neighbors (whom we shared a line behind our house) to do a multi-house job. David and his team were professional and problem solvers. When the first way didn't work they found a second way to fix the problem. They worked with the city of Vancouver to determine which lines to fix and which the city was responsible for while giving us top quality value. Sewer lines are not exciting but what is exciting is knowing we won't be getting back ups into our basement and that our home is resellable in the future. The team I worked with was AMAZING I appreciate them to the fullest they had professionalism, were very informative, and also sympathetic to my issue we had a previous plumber come out he made a huge mess and even dug up my neighbors yard to find the issue (that wasn't there) When Mr. Rooters team came out they assets and fixed the issue the same day. My assessor even filled the hole in my neighbors yard, I can't say enough good things to express my gratitude for their help when I needed it the most.

We had a main line break between the meter & our house at night. Nick came out the next day to look at the job, gave an estimate and came out when he got the needed supplies to fix our problem. He was honest, timely and we will call again if we need plumbing services. He helped us out about 5 years ago with a job so we called him first thing.

Things started out great. But ended in the worst experience I have ever had with someone doing work in my home, and left me feeling unsafe.

My husband set up the appointment and I was there alone with my two toddler-age kids when the two employees arrived. They were kind and congenial. In fact, one offered to show me how he installed something so I could do it myself on a different tub if desired. Great service. When the employee was finished, my husband called the employee with some questions about the bill. If you care, they were rate-related questions detailed below. If not, skip to next paragraph:

One question was about the rate we were charged being different than the rate agreed upon by phone beforehand (Which Paul, the boss, confirmed when he finally listened.) The second question was about how much time he was logging. He was charging us for time filling out the invoice, for example. (A previous plumber we used had the invoice and payment ready within sixty seconds. This plumber took 15 minutes out in the car after he finished the work. Seems nitpicky... but really adds up at $160 an hr. When you consider we are being charged for transportation time to the site, that means we are paying a total of $75 for time they are not doing plumbing work).

At the end of the conversation my husband asked to talk to Paul to verify the rate. Meanwhile, I had no idea what is going on, but within about sixty seconds into the phone conversation, I hear the employee downstairs yelling on the phone to my husband. I was upstairs in my bedroom with my two young children. The employee then called his boss and was ranting loudly about my husband as the employee walked up the stairs to my bedroom. At that point, this large male who was speaking loudly and aggressively was standing in my bedroom between me and the door, about five feet away from me and my children, both of whom were wide-eyed staring at the man yelling about my husband. I motioned and quietly asked him to please finish the conversation downstairs. He did not stop or move and instead said loudly into the phone Now they're both suddenly unsatisfied.

Honestly this is a major safety issue. The employee was so congenial and appropriate up until that point, and escalated so quickly that I wondered if he has an anger management issue. Here are a few rules that I should not have to tell you: Do not walk up the stairs to my bedroom while you're yelling on the phone. Do not stand in my bedroom, between me and the doorway while yelling on the phone. If a female with young children in tow, politely asks you (a stranger acting aggressively and unpredictably) to leave her bedroom, you say Oh my goodness, of course. You do not argue with her.

I probably wouldn't even be writing this review, if I had gotten a response from Paul (the boss and owner) that indicated he understood the gravity of the problem. Instead, Paul was defensive. His first response to me when I told him what was happening was settle down and then well yeah, he was upset because your husband wasn't paying the bill (This is not at all true. The employee told my husband he'd have to talk to Paul to verify what rate was quoted and then he hung up on my husband. There was no threat whatsoever of not paying, and Paul jumped to this conclusion before even talking to my husband.). Once I told Paul it would be really wise to just listen well and recognize that this is an important safety issue and that the employee needs to take responsibility for his actions regardless of whoever is making him mad on the phone, he finally said okay, okay, he understood and would reprimand the employee.

Frankly, it seemed pretty clear to me that Paul didn't see it as a serious issue. That is concerning. He was apparently more apologetic to my husband and said they have all be working really hard and are tired. I hope indeed this was an anomaly, but we won't be using them again and wouldn't recommend them.

These guys are great. When something went wrong with something they installed, they came over on Thanksgiving morning to make it right!!!

Recently had our home repiped with PEX due to aging CPVC that was beginning to fail in addition to replacing an aging hot water heater. Requested bids from 4 highly rated and very experienced plumbing companies. While all could have done the work, Cornel's price was very competitive, their timeline to complete the work worked for us and there were no requests I made that they could not/would not accommodate.

Once I accepted the bid, Meagan scheduled us quickly, and the team was here a week later. Our install team was Steve and Justin. They did a great job of communicating and when necessary, making sure we were happy with the location of new fixtures, etc. before doing the install. They were on time (each day), had a very positive attitude, spoke highly of their employer and worked well together to professionally complete the job.

As a testament to their focus on customer service, we needed a minor item fixed the day after the install team left, and there was a Cornel's Service Tech at our doorstep a few hours later.

I feel like I now have a plumbing company I can trust and whom I can rely on to be quick, efficient and professional. Well done!

Mick is our go-to plumber. He has re-plumbed practically our entire 1914 NE Portland house to replace the old iron pipes with new plastic, put in new fixtures, even plumbed a new water service out to the curb for us, and everything works great! Mick is a master at his art, and a very friendly and pleasant fellow to have around. We recommend him for any home plumbing job. Just make sure you have a proper cup of tea handy ;-)

Installer Dave, first wasn’t able to get the water valve turned off, ok cool, called water company, they said they would send someone. Dave didn’t try very hard cause all I had to do was spray WD-40 on the valve. 30 mins later two calls to the water company Dave unpacks his tools again and begins installation. Wedged a pipe between the wall and water heater. PDX city inspector comes out and says that’s a no no. 2nd visit FWH (Dave & helper) comes doesn’t have any information as to why he’s there, 40 mins of explaining what the inspector wants, he again squeezed blocks between the wall and water heater, PDX inspector says it’s the same proofs the pipe. Blocks need to be secured to wall, which I explained to Dave the first 30 mins. Tried to get them to resolve, but it took forever and we have renters moving in, contacted HandyMoms to correct issue. Don’t waste your time with this company, the 599$ installation wasn’t worth the agony of dealing w an incompetent company. Cost me more money !
