Best Tank Installation in Portland OR
tl:dr - Joe Water Heater is an amazing local, small-business owner that is personable, informative and provides unparalleled service at a fair price.
Longer version: I'm not big on writing online reviews, but every once in a while a business comes along that just blows everything else out of the water (pun intended). For me, Joe Water Heater LLC was that company. He is smart, personable, punctual and kept me informed throughout the entire process of replacing my water heater (and even gave tips and what to watch out for post-install and how to handle it). Prior to Joe, I called multiple companies to try to get an estimate to replace a 15 year old water heater - most wanted to charge to send a plumber out to do an estimate, then had unreasonable wait times, etc... it was a headache just trying to get a quote. I contacted Joe, he asked me to text him a couple of pictures and within an hour or so I had 3 different quotes. I selected the one I wanted, and Joe came out the next morning and installed it. Though, that almost doesn't give it justice - I'd been upfront and told Joe the water heater was in a basement (some companies charge an automatic extra fee for that), Joe said he'd done hundreds of installs in older homes with cramped stairwells like mine, and that as long as he could maneuver it in and out, it shouldn't be a problem. And sure enough, he pumped the old water heater empty, hauled it away, and installed the new water heater easy-peasy. On top of that there were some issues with the connection to the existing plumbing, and Joe took care of it at no extra charge (he said he felt bad cause he should have let me know ahead of time that there could be problems with some of the old pipe-work and wouldn't take a dime for it). I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience with Joe Water Heater LLC - It was painless from start to finish, Joe was informative, punctual, very knowledgeable, and not interested in nickel-and-dime-ing me along the way. If I ever need to replace another water heater, Joe will hands down be the ONLY call I make.

Olivia and Nick arrived on schedule with a 20 minute courtesy call beforehand. We had 2 clogged drains and were hoping they could clear them easily and be on their way with us being happy we could do dishes and wash clothes again. Of course things aren’t always easy and boy did they find a unique situation underneath our home. Sometime in the 1970’s the previous owner moved washer and dryer to the garage and did it himself. He used radiator hose for the drain from utility sink and wash machine for about 15’. They can’t run the machine down rubber hose so our only option was replacement with all new drain lines and clean outs. The bid was acceptable as we knew we needed this done. Olivia did the calculations and presented 3 options for proceeding. The pricing was fair I believe and she was a joy to meet and discuss the details of the job, and some friendly conversation included. My wife and I really liked her a lot and I believe the feeling was genuinely mutual. The job is being completed by Mitch and Johnny today and they are very professional, friendly, and courteous. We have been super happy with every step of the process. It’s a big job and they knew exactly how to do it.Excellent workmanship and really nice people to work with!If anyone ever asks us if we know of a good plumbing company we would direct them to 3 Mountains Plumbing in a heartbeat. The job is almost completed and I’m so relieved to know it’s done right and most likely will never have to deal without a kitchen sink or laundry facilities.Great company and I highly recommend giving them a call if you need anything plumbing.

Thank you so much!!! We discovered that our 2-inch kitchen/laundry drain pipes were fairly rotted after water started backing up and we got a scope. The pipes were so rotted that traditional repair of the worst sections didn't work, since every time they were touched they crumbled. To make matters worse, the pipes were in a concrete slab and ran both under our brand new bathroom, but also under asbestos tile that we didn't not want to cut/disturb. Sewer Renewal Specialists was the only company who would coat a 2-inch drain line in place and they did fabulous work from start to finish. The person who came out to do the bid (sorry...I forget his name) was super reassuring and professional, and Taylor, who did the actual coating, was fabulous all-around. Prompt, hard-working, and wonderful. Thank you!!!

I requested River City Environmental services, because I've had a clogged drain in one of my businesses. The specific service I requested was jetting the pipe lines and camera. When the guy from River City came, he assessed the job and suggested the snaking, instead of what I requested for in the beginning. I trusted him, as he was supposed to be the Professional . After about 7 days later, the drain was clogged again!
The fact of my business was closed for a few days for the Holidays. I paid for snaking and sewer cleaning $1,102 that time. I called to ask about the warranty for their services and they say they don't offer any warranty. I asked to talk to the manager whose name is Jared, and he listened to the recorded phone call when the lady said: Yes and No offer warranty.
I got a money refund for Overcharges and not for the warranty.
I called River City to redo what it was not correctly done, and still, I was charged $491 on my card which was about $220 more than what the manager and I agreed for jetting and camera. I had to call again to ask to charge me for the right amount.
It was a hassle dealing with this company, I don't recommend them.

Terry does outstanding work, and his wife Jamie is a great organizer. They show up when they say they will, they communicate clearly about the job, Terry and his son are courteous, and the results are exactly as expected.
It’s not too often that you find a true “mom and pop” outfit, where their word is their bond. Terry Massey Plumbing is the real deal!

Fast, excellent service. Gary replaced a section of water line I damaged doing DIY work. Prompt service on July 5th - before I even heard back from most other plumbers I contacted. Reasonable price, too. I would recommend Gary for anyone who needs a plumber. Thank you Gary!

Louis was great to work with. Took the time to explain things very well. Answered questions I had and did a thorough job to ensure work was done properly. Too expensive in my opinion to just unclog a drain but overall service was great. Not sure what typical rate is these days for something like that

I had a water heater tank leak and called more than ten plumbers before I found Pro Plumbing online. Pro Plumbing was the only one who could come the same day. Rene was timely, communicative, and respectful of my home. Life saver!! Thank you!

Carl is to main line plumbing what a surgeon is to the circulatory system. Since I had dug up the soil and lifted the culvert, he had the leak that I couldn't find and it's cause diagnosed in 10 minutes. Two treatment plans were offered for potential immediate fix and probable permanent fix. (Hope the Portland Water Bureau will be able to help me with a leakage rebate.) So thankful for his recent visit to bid the job. So fortunate he is in the area and so knowledgeable just like those at U of W who isolated the antibody to shutdown the virus a couple days goes. Carl brings hope, powerful hope to our community's aging infrastructure. If you need real help for a real repair this company has what it takes and is honest about it.

We hired Craig Anderson to replace a broken water heater in our condo. Rick came out and diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot. Rick is very personable. The company charged a very fair price for the work. We will definitely call them out again if we have another plumbing problem. Highly recommend.

Things started out great. But ended in the worst experience I have ever had with someone doing work in my home, and left me feeling unsafe.
My husband set up the appointment and I was there alone with my two toddler-age kids when the two employees arrived. They were kind and congenial. In fact, one offered to show me how he installed something so I could do it myself on a different tub if desired. Great service. When the employee was finished, my husband called the employee with some questions about the bill. If you care, they were rate-related questions detailed below. If not, skip to next paragraph:
One question was about the rate we were charged being different than the rate agreed upon by phone beforehand (Which Paul, the boss, confirmed when he finally listened.) The second question was about how much time he was logging. He was charging us for time filling out the invoice, for example. (A previous plumber we used had the invoice and payment ready within sixty seconds. This plumber took 15 minutes out in the car after he finished the work. Seems nitpicky... but really adds up at $160 an hr. When you consider we are being charged for transportation time to the site, that means we are paying a total of $75 for time they are not doing plumbing work).
At the end of the conversation my husband asked to talk to Paul to verify the rate. Meanwhile, I had no idea what is going on, but within about sixty seconds into the phone conversation, I hear the employee downstairs yelling on the phone to my husband. I was upstairs in my bedroom with my two young children. The employee then called his boss and was ranting loudly about my husband as the employee walked up the stairs to my bedroom. At that point, this large male who was speaking loudly and aggressively was standing in my bedroom between me and the door, about five feet away from me and my children, both of whom were wide-eyed staring at the man yelling about my husband. I motioned and quietly asked him to please finish the conversation downstairs. He did not stop or move and instead said loudly into the phone Now they're both suddenly unsatisfied.
Honestly this is a major safety issue. The employee was so congenial and appropriate up until that point, and escalated so quickly that I wondered if he has an anger management issue. Here are a few rules that I should not have to tell you: Do not walk up the stairs to my bedroom while you're yelling on the phone. Do not stand in my bedroom, between me and the doorway while yelling on the phone. If a female with young children in tow, politely asks you (a stranger acting aggressively and unpredictably) to leave her bedroom, you say Oh my goodness, of course. You do not argue with her.
I probably wouldn't even be writing this review, if I had gotten a response from Paul (the boss and owner) that indicated he understood the gravity of the problem. Instead, Paul was defensive. His first response to me when I told him what was happening was settle down and then well yeah, he was upset because your husband wasn't paying the bill (This is not at all true. The employee told my husband he'd have to talk to Paul to verify what rate was quoted and then he hung up on my husband. There was no threat whatsoever of not paying, and Paul jumped to this conclusion before even talking to my husband.). Once I told Paul it would be really wise to just listen well and recognize that this is an important safety issue and that the employee needs to take responsibility for his actions regardless of whoever is making him mad on the phone, he finally said okay, okay, he understood and would reprimand the employee.
Frankly, it seemed pretty clear to me that Paul didn't see it as a serious issue. That is concerning. He was apparently more apologetic to my husband and said they have all be working really hard and are tired. I hope indeed this was an anomaly, but we won't be using them again and wouldn't recommend them.
