We knew we were facing replacement of our 15-year old A/C and furnace units when we bought our house two and a half years ago. Penguin Air in general over the last 4 years have been great up until today. every 6 months i get preventive maint. because i purchased a new unit. a tech by the name of joey m. did not call ahead of time even after sending 1 email and 2 text saying the tech would call 1/2 hour before hand. He rang the door bell and i received an alert on my phone so i rushed home- i already had a bad feeling about this. I am not home 12-14hrs a day so the a/c is either OFF or at a higher than normal temp so its not running all day when nobody is home. The tech comes in after spewing multiple excuses about not calling ahead and he proceeds straight to the vent and takes the temp (reminder the AC was left at 80-81 degrees YES it will be warm inside) jumps on his ipad and says I need an alternator/capacitator I immediately re-iterate everything i just said about not being home ect. ect. he proceeds to blurt out it doesn't matter its under warranty you don't have to pay for it BUT if your compressor is out you will have to pay for that this tech walked in my house a minute or two without properly diagnosing anything w/the actual unit. (side note: he was already on the roof before i got to my house rinsing the coils) he was very invasive and i was so uncomfortable w/the situation. He then tells me he has 10 plus years in HVAC and his uncle or dad own a HVAC company (red flag #1233) he starts to show me the alternator/capacitator and how its not showing voltage. who is to say he shorted the thing himself? he also mentions the part cost $400 BUT i don't have a compressor issue he was sure had a problem. I called customer service immediately and made them aware. the a/c was 100% FINE this was just a routine service they provide when you purchase a brand new unit its keeps your warranty valid BUT suddenly while the tech is on hand something is not working? company is great but this tech i had zero trust in. I signed off on the zero dollar invoice anyway and will pray i don't start to have issues. IF my a/c IS noticeably ice cold meaning there was in fact an issue i was not aware of i will gladly update this review.

Chas Roberts Air Conditioning & Plumbing - please explain why in 3 months a brand new house with a brand new AC has needed someone to come out to fix it 5+ times? We had someone out yesterday and 24 hrs later the AC isn’t working. I’m told that the soonest you can come out is between 1-5pm tomorrow after calling at 830. Brad the Supervisor tells me “at least it’s only 102 outside and not 115”. Your company is the worst and I will make sure everyone knows!!****This response must be from Adam. I think it’s hilarious that you think your tech saved us somehow. You spent the whole 16 min on the phone blaming everyone except your company for our AC issues. I honestly couldn’t even listen to it any further.Your tech could have gotten our warranty voided and honestly that is still a possibility. But we got our air to work the night before. Because of my daughter’s health condition, she overheats quickly and it becomes emergent. So when your Supervisor Brad was telling me to be thankful it’s 102 and not 115, we went to the breaker and switched it on and off. Thankfully our air came back on. Because otherwise I would have had to get a hotel that allowed dogs so that we would be able to have a decent night of sleep.Your excuses are lame. Like you said, you install in 38,000 homes a year. So you should probably have someone available 24/7 when it’s over 100 degrees and it’s a brand new system.
