Had my 15+ year old water heater replaced today by Norblom Plumbing. When I called earlier in the week with questions about the run needed for a powered damper (my previous heater had a very shallow angle), Mike had me take pictures, fully assessed my needs and set up an appt to get the water heater replaced just 3 days later. The installer arrived today - 40 mins early (but he called first and asked permission to come early) - and he had scheduled help to have him remove my old water heater and bring the new one in to the basement. They laid down painters cloth to protect my carpeted stairs and completed the job in just over an hour. My wife and I were shown how this unit works - it's damper is powered compared to my previous unit -- and all works great. The team fully cleaned up the work area and filled out my Xcel Energy rebate form for me to send in for a $150 rebate (done!).

Overall - very happy with the service, speed, friendliness. Would call them again without reservation.

Thomas was very efficient in determining the source of a leak in my water heater and repairing it. The cause of the leak was clearly explained to me along with the necessary repair.

My husband and I have a 40+ yr old home and the water supply line shut off valve is just as old. We became concerned that when we leave home for lengthy periods and attempt to shut off the water for protection that this valve may not function. We called the city water and sewer maintenance staff to have them shut down our curb box water supply valve so my husband could replace this shut off valve, but they were unsuccessful getting the curb box valve to shut off. Short of shutting down the main water supply to the whole neighborhood, the only way to shut off water to our home to replace this old questionable shut off valve was to have a plumbing company come out and freeze the supply line water long enough to replace the valve. Street Plumbing sent Jason out with a refrigeration unit to accomplish the task. He was very timely, professional, conscientious and easy to talk and work with. He has a very open and genuine personality along with a high level of expertise. The job went off without an issue and Jason installed the new valve and he also made a few minor helpful modifications. We normally do all of our home repairs including plumbing but this freezing of the supply line was beyond our capabilities. We are delighted with the work Jason did and we would not hesitate to contract with Street Plumbing in the future if something similar developed, especially of they sent out Jason again. We highly recommend the services of Street Plumbing to anyone in their service area for plumbing issues or needs.

I had a plugged kitchen sink. They arrived on time and even before they did any work they told me the total cost would be $450. They removed the drain trap under the sink and then ran a snake through the pipe. It took a total of 10 minutes to do this. They unclogged the line but I thought $450 for 10 minutes of work was a bit ridiculous. I will never use them again or recommend them because of their inflated price. When I initially called and asked how much it would cost, I was told the trip charge was $59 and then there would be additional cost depending on what work needed to be done. It would have been nice to know upfront that for a simple drain clog the minimum price would be $450. I have never spent this much money before to unclog a drain. With previous people, I was billed after the work is complete because it depended how much time was spent on the project and what was involved.

What I love about Roto-Rooter is that they are upfront about everything. I've used them wherever I've lived and know I can rely on consistent service. This time I was quite sure my garbage disposal was toast and called hoping for an appointment the following day. My schedule was spotty, but they managed to come out when I could be home, and Mike, despite his youthful appearance, knew his stuff and could explain to me exactly what the problem was. He had a new disposal installed in 1.5 hours and was meticulous in making sure there were no leaks or other problems with pipes before he left. Bravo Mike!

The tech. did a great job. He was polite, wore booties on his shoes to keep our floors clean. He explained what he was going to do and how much it was going to cost before he started the work. He completed the work in about 45 mins and now our sink is draining great. The communication before the service tech. arrived was below average. The day he was scheduled to come it had snowed. Like most service companies they gave me a window of time when the tech would arrive, I received no updates and had to call them 4 times to get updates. He finally arrived 1 hour past the time window. I expect them to keep me posted not me calling them.

I had an appointment with Steinkraus for them to install a gas line in the morning. The plumber never called nor showed up. I called early afternoon and was told I would be called back once they find out what's going on. Never recieved a return call. Was told when I called them back again that evening that they might be able to do the job in a week. I took an entire day off of work to get the work done which was scheduled well before hand.
