A.B. May Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical Plumber
Andrew came by to check the new hvac system ab May installed a year ago. He was amazing! I have no complaints with most of their technicians, they are punctual and knowledgeable. If Andrew did more than furnace work, I’d request him for every service call. 10 stars for him!3 stars for the company itself. I pay every month for the “gold” plan. I had someone check this new system last month and they said it was fine. They said our filter was fine too. But Andrew found it was dirty and way overdue to be changed. He also had to make minor adjustments to make the system run better.I’m not happy that their salesman talked us into this expensive system, that was supposed to be “more efficient”. Spire told us last week that we went over our average usage by $700 last year. So our level payment this year is doubled to make it up. I know inflation has a small role, but $700! And I’m still paying AB May for this new system.I’ve had AB May for almost 9 years (since we bought our house) and I constantly question why we pay them every month. I don’t really feel like I’m getting my monies worth. But hate to cancel now and have something major break. I guess with that being said it’s only good for major repairs. (Except if you have a plumbing pipe in your front yard that needs to be repaired. They quoted me $10k for that. I am looking for other quotes on that from different companies. I guess their gold plan doesn’t cover that).

Quick Relief Plumbing Plumber
They are now my go to company for plumbing issues! I had a different company come check a small plumbing issue. That bigger company said I needed 2 things installed for $1,100. The 2 things they said I needed didn’t make sense to me to fix the problem so I looked for a new company for a 2nd opinion. I went with Quick Relief Plumbing based on reviews online, their experience listed on their website, and I wanted to go with a smaller company to know who I was working with. Anthony S and Anthony F checked on my plumbing issue and diagnosed the problem within minutes. It was NOT the 2 things the other company said to do so those would have been a waste of money. They came at my scheduled time, they let me know when they were on the way, they explained everything thoroughly, told me the price before doing the work to make sure I agreed to the price before doing it, then they fixed the problem quickly and at a reasonable price. They are now my go to company for plumbing!

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Kansas City Plumber
Homeowners beware; do your research before contacting Mr. Rooter or “hiring” them to do work on your home. First and foremost, this is not about price, but about quality of work and ownership. The technician that came out to our home was very friendly; however, the owner was not. I had a hot water heater and approximately 6 feet of copper lines to the hot water heater that needed to be replaced. The old lines had a couple of saddle valves in them; I needed one of those for a connection to an ice maker in a fridge. Prior to any work being started, I clearly expressed I did not want another saddle valve installed due to their poor quality. With that having been said, I was under the assumption they would be replacing it with a ball valve connection. Once the work was completed, I noticed they used one of my old saddle valves in the new line for the ice maker. After having discussed this with the owner, he came off defensive and abruptly stated they did not have a new valve because they do not carry them due to their poor quality. The owner stated we would have to pay an additional cost for a different valve, however, given the price and work we agreed on, $1400, this should never have been a topic up for discussion AFTER the work was completed. The price of the hot water heater we received from Mr. Rooter is approximately $479 at Lowe’s, the ball valve is about $25. On a side note, according to HomeAdvisor, the average cost of a hot water heater installation in KC is $880. We were told by the owner that yes, we could have purchased from Lowe’s if we knew how to install or flat out said, we could have researched better and found a different plumber. I have to question the integrity of an owner who thinks it’s ok to run his business and allow his employees to re-install a used product against the wishes of their customers knowing this will affect the quality and efficiency of their customer’s homes in the future.

As every google user knows, each review is a he said she said situation so to quote Mr. Rooter you better do your research before doing business with them and I would suggest getting every detail in writing so there is no misunderstanding.

UPDATE:
Mr. Rooter came back out and replaced the saddle valve with a ball valve at no additional cost.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are unethical, and their tactics border on illegal. They falsely advertise as legitimate plumbing companies with their Google PPC ads, but have the number to their call answering service listed rather than the company they're advertising as, tricking people into thinking they're calling for that particular company, before selling that lead off to another plumbing company. This is costing real, legitimate, hard-working plumbing companies business and customers. This happened to the company I work for, and we currently have our lawyers looking into the matter. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
