Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Kansas City

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Kansas City was contacted on a Friday to address a clogged sewer line. A repair technician responded, ran a metal snake into the line which did not clear the clog, then said a repair would have to be scheduled for the next week at a cost somewhere between $4,000 and $13,000. The technician charged $100 for the call, packed up and left, leaving the line clogged and the basement toilet unsecured to floor.

A different plumbing service was contacted the next day. A repair technician responded, quickly removed the clog, cleaned and flushed the line (many times), and reinstalled the toilet left unsecured by the previous company's technician. It was just a clog, not a broken or collapsed sewer line. Charged $198.

I was disappointed in the service provided by Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Kansas City. The thought of a plumbing repair bill as high as $13,000 and being stuck with a clogged sewer line from Friday 'till Monday did result in a fair amount of anxiety on my part.

I called at 9:30 PM amd they were at my commercial building within 45 minutes! Quickly solved our clogged main line issue and were professional. Thanks!

Came to the house two hours before they were supposed to, making us change all our plans. Charged us double for a job we’ve done before (so know the cost it should have been), then tried to charge us tax twice. Shady shady shady. Do not recommend.

We have several rental properties, so we have more than our share of plugged drains. This was our first experience with MR. Rooter, and we will definitely call them again. Quality work at a GREAT price and they were on time!

Technician very professional and got my bathtub drain unclogged quickly. Called at 9:30 am to try and get appt today and got appt at 11 am today, yeah. With only having one bathroom, it is a relief not to worry about clogged drain. Would recommend if having any plumbing issues.

DON'T use this company! The person who came out looked at one sink and told me it was leaking from the water connection but they don't carry the seals for it and checked a clogged drain but said it would be $329 to snake it. I've never paid that much for something like that and told him no thanks I would hire someone else. The service call for him to do nothing was $139. This company is a complete joke and all they want to do is rip people off.
In response to your reply - You're correct the tech told me it would be $139 unless I bought the product for $99. I still consider this a rip off!

Grat guy and vary friendly. Super cool to talk to. Thank u for all u did. We need more people like him helping people he is down to earth and let's u now what he is doing step by step. Thanks to him If I have any problems I will be calling his company again.

I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Rooter! I had noticed my water bill was unusually high, so I called them up and they had an opening that afternoon! They sent a technician over and they inspected the water out put to make sure I didn’t have a leak somewhere! Turns out my spare bathroom in the basement had a running toilet! The technician was very kind to my Girlfriend and even offered to fix the issue right there! We were so happy they got it figured out so quickly and our water bill is now back to normal! I know it was a simple thing for them but it was a big issue for my family! They treated us with great respect and courtesy! No job too small for them! Give them a shot if you need anything plumbing/ water related!

Fast and efficient

I had a blocked drain over the weekend and I was having to drain it every 2 hours to prevent further flooding. I was given a 9:00 appointment. Zach was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. He and his co-worker also wore masks and booties into my home. They told me what needed to be done and the price. They were finshed in less than an hour. I will definitely use them again! Feeling relieved! They also informed me on how to prevent future clogging. Thanks guys!

Erron was very professional and very nice. He took time to answer questions I had. I really did appreciate that. He also called when he was on his way and arrived when he said he would be there.

We hired them to do some easy plumbing repairs. When they left they said everything was done and my mistake was not checking on their work. When my wife got home and looked at it she went ballistic. They bathroom sink needed a new stopper and after they repaired it. It still does. You have to push on it to get it to hold water. They repaired the faucet in the tub and now we can't shut it off. Its real loose and when you tighten the screw down it keeps running. They were suppose to repair the stopper in the tub but did nothing to it. $350 dollars later I have to find someone else to do it right. My wife called the person who did the work and he didn't seem to care and said he would get there when he could. My wife was not impressed with the way he talked to her and called his boss. They called and he told me I had a contract with them and signed off saying it was ok and that he wouldn't give me a refund. Then told me I was trying to get something for nothing. I have never been so insulted in my life. I am 71 years old and have never been accused of trying to steal from anyone. We have disputed this on our credit card. A true professional plumber could have repaired these simple repairs in his sleep. I will gladly give them back the parts they installed incorrectly as soon as I get my money refunded. I Hired them because of their reviews I guess you can't trust reviews or who sent them. UPDATE I had a different company fix what they did wrong. The sink stopper just had to be adjusted right. The bathtub faucet was not put back together right and they fix the stopper in the bathtub. For this they charged me $50 and wrote a letter to my credit card explaining what they did wrong and that any first year plumbing student could have done it right the first time. They also added that $350 for what they did was highway robbery. They also recommended snaking the drains, like I wanted Mr. Rooter to do, and not just use chemicals as they recommended. Please don't use these people! How they got the reviews they have is beyond me all I can figure is they must have a lot of friends and relatives sending in reviews. UPDATE:

The only complaint I had about your call is when you told me that I was just trying to get out of paying you. WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, for starters they were two hours late. 8:15pm to be exact.
Long story short, we paid a pretty high rate for a job that didn’t get done and are having to call another company out today.
Tech was kind and courteous but unfortunately kindness wasn’t what was needed for resolution.

I have to change my review. They did a very good job replacing my sewer drain, but when they came back to smooth out the dirt in my yard, they broke part of my driveway and left without telling me. I understand mistakes happen, but I cannot recommend a company that will pack up and leave without notifying me that they have damaged my property.

I really enjoyed working with Mr. Rooter and their employees on repairing my Main Sewer line in NKC this past week. They are professional and get the job done right! I'm not sure if they are the cheapest but they offer financing and I'd personally pay a little more to ensure these big ticket jobs are done correctly. They did two spot repairs for me and provided me with further service that could benefit our main sewer line without being pushy or pressuring us to agree to service. I would recommend for any home owner or property manager.

Had Mr. Roooter fix a non-draining kitchen sink which I could do nothing about. They arrived the same day a tried 3 or 4 simple approaches without success. Then they traced the location of the obstruction to a horizontal pipe beneath the concrete floor in the basement toilet area. Of course, this required toilet removal, breaking up the concrete and digging down to said pipe, then replacement of the entire length of this cast iron pipe from kitchen drain to termination in main drain.
Afterword, they filled the hole with rubble and concrete and set a new base for the toilet. Cleanup was done reasonably well.
The workers, Roy & Erron, were polite, wore anti-COVID masks, and were a pleasure to work with. I never met the boss, but talked to him by phone several times. He was accommodating and willing to negotiate price and details. The office secretary/manager was a delight to deal with.
All in all, it was a very good experience.

Our family had the misfortune of our basement flooding and found that our clay pipe was busted under the street. After dealing with the city we found that it was all on the homeowner (us). After dealing with a few local plumbers I went on Homeadvisor and entered my information. Mr. Rooter called within minutes of entering my information. That immediate response was indicative of how Mr. Rooter handles any situation with speed and immediate notification. Paul Jr. came out to bid the project and used his many years of plumbing knowledge and expertise to fix the broken pipe in a manner that no company bidding before even thought of. The Mr. Rooter crew was out there immediately and wasted no time getting the project completed. Through the whole process Paul and Mr. Rooter stuck to their word and had exemplary customer service . He spent as much time as he needed to explain every step in great detail and kept me in the loop on the any progress. Zach, from Mr. Rooter, came out to assess a low water pressure and drain issue with all sinks and washer in the house, Zach was able to fix the issue and educate me on everything and also provide a drain cleaner that wouldn't damage our lines. We are very happy with the service and recommend Zach.

The customer service at Mr. Rooter is great! We called Mr. Rooter on a Sunday night when we realized that our main line was blocked, and they sent Zach the very next day. He used equipment that other companies charge extra for, letting us see the actual problems in the main line. Zach and another plumber stayed until the problem was fixed — pulling out two big root wads (and, weirdly, a toad) from the line. Zach also very knowledgeable and good at explaining the issues. About a week later, Zach called back to make sure everything was still OK. We definitely will be using Mr. Rooter’s services in the future and highly recommend their services!

Excellent job! The much needed repair was done very professionally and within 2 days from calling them. We will definitely continue to use them for future projects.

I found the technicians from Mr. Rooter to be very knowledgeable and very reasonable. I had a problem with the water pressure in my house. They installed something called a pressure reducing valve, it corrected the problem. They even went the extra mile and explained what was causing the problem. I will definitely be using them again for any future plumbing problems that might occur in the future.

Fix our sunk pump that was installed last year. It's working great. Temp fix. Needs new pipe.

Mr. Rooter had some of the nicest people I’ve ever dealt with. They found out I had no water so they quickly prioritized me and were able to get my water main repaired extremely fast. They were able to make the repair by only digging up part of my yard which was also nice. I would recommend them for any plumbing fixes that you need.

We recently had the good fortune of choosing Mr. Rooter for our Kansas City, MO home. We had some minor plumbing concerns and also a very (potentially) complicated problem with a sewer pipe. We found this family owned business to be the embodiment of professionalism. Great expertise, attention to detail and conscientousness resolved our problems quickly for a very reasonable price. My son flushed a toothbrush down the toilet - so we found out after Mr Rooters initial service call. Our toilet continued to back up causing some frustration. We called them back out and the tech took extra time so it seemed to work on the toilet even more extensivel . Presto, the toothbrush finally popped out. No charge - under warranty! What... This doesn't happen. Thanks Mr Rooter! Great tech and great customer support in office.

Had them out to replace my outdoor spigot. They were able to send out a plumber within a few hours of my call and he was able to replace the spigot in less than 30 minutes. I appreciate the quality of the work done and the fast response time.

Was expericing a leak in my bathroom faucet and attempted to repair myself which created a larger leak requiring me to turn off water at main line which restricted water usage throughout entire house. also, attempted to replace toilet fill valve in main bathroom but was unable to complete. The person Mr. Rooter sent was the estimator; but, after showing him what I was attempting to repair on my own, he was able to complete both projects within a short period of time while offering suggestions on how to avoid similar problems on future DIY projects. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and forthcoming with educational information if I would to choose to attempt future home repairs. He also suggested the addition of a water softener and battery back-up for my sump pump which I am considering. I appreciated the swiftness it took to complete the repairs and the kindness of the Mr. Rooter employee...(sorry, didn't get his name). Will definitely contact Mr. Rooter for future projects.

Technician very helpful did not assume anything.Took the time to check the line to the sewers to make sure that their was no obstruction.Then he proceeded inside to open the stool so that it would run freely.His knowledge of the situation established that whoever put the stool in did not ajoin the cast iron pipe in the line .I was very happy with all that he did.And recommend this company to anyone.

I had initially called them to request they tighten the compression nut in my hot water shutoff valve. I had tried to replace it and succeeded only in loosening it just enough to cause a leak, so was embarrassed enough to try and hire a professional to fix my mistake.

The plumbers sent to my house told me that to replace the valve would be over $200, and that in order to do it they would need to cut through the pipe. The total cost of the job would be almost $600.

A secondary reason for calling them was to remove an old, vestigial pipe that was taking up space and making accessing the rest of my plumbing difficult. That was only a lightly overpriced $250 and the job was done quickly and effectively.

Once the pipe was out of the way, I was able to replace the valve myself in fifteen minutes. Nice guys, decent quality work but they tried to rip me off so brazenly that I was more impressed by the balls than I was angry about the shady tactics.

Our clogged basement drain was fixed within two hours of making the call to Mr. Rooter. Zach was friendly and quickly gave us options to address our issue.

I needed a service to come and diagnose what was going on with a clogged sink. Bad news is the pipe is damaged to a point it needs to be replaced, good news is it didn't break the bank to find out the information and I have the money left over for the actual repair. The company answered my call at 5 on a Monday, had someone at my door the very next day, the man was professional, quick, explained what he was doing every step of the way and even complimented a couple of woodworking pieces I had hanging up. Nice gentleman overall. I will definately be calling for any future needs. Thanks Mr. Rooter/ Zach.

Update, I recently tried to use Mr. Rooter again for a clog in my kitchen sink. They came out and told me it needed to be power scrubbed before they even looked at the problem. I agreed to the power scrub thinking that it would work because that is what the plumber said would work. The plumber stated that they had to remove the clog with the auger before they power scrubbed. He tried multiple times to remove the clog with the auger with no success. Without success they tried to put the power scrubber in the drain and immediately had water blowback into the cabinet under the sink. After that failed they told me that my sink was plumbed improperly and I needed to run new pipe. I asked if that was the only option and the plumber told me that I could cut the pipe myself and investigate to see what the problem was. He even told me where he thought the clog was located. I wasn't too impressed with a plumber telling me how to do a job I hired him to do. After paying the 150.00 service charge they charged me instead of the 580.00 that they charge for a power scrub I called to discuss that I wasn’t happy with the service I received. I was able to remove the clog myself in a matter of 5 to 10 minutes. The supervisor that called me back was immediately defensive from the get go and essentially defended his guys and nothing I said could be correct. He went as far as to tell me that I owe him 600.00 dollars for the unsuccessful attempt to flush water down my pipes when all it did was make a mess that they never cleaned up. Photo is attached of cabinet. I thought this company was going to be a good company to use but once something didn’t go right they fumbled and couldn’t handle the situation. I would not recommend Mr. Rooter for that reason.

Old review but still true. I am so thankful for Zach Olson of Mr. Rooter. He was very experienced and didn't try to rip me off like some of the other companies did. He diagnosed the problem quickly and was spot on with his diagnosis. The price was reasonable and fair. It was hard work in a cramped space and he had a great attitude the entire time he was here. I had an emergency call after hours because my main sewer line was blocked and my family couldn’t use any water in the house. They arrived in 40 minutes, explained the problem very effectively and had it fixed in less than a half hour. I was worried that the bill would be exorbitant, but it was very reasonable. Wow, this is a great plumbing business. I felt like I was treated like a very valued family member or good neighbor. They are prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, detail oriented, tidy and provide services for a very reasonable price. I have used Mr. Rooter twice in the last times and both techs were knowledgeable, professional, and on time. They took the time to explain to me what was wrong and gave me sound advice to help me in my home buying process.

We had Mr Rooter out to check our septic line to see if it had a leak. They were able to run a camera through the line and determine all was well. they power washed the line to help with drainage flow. We were very satisfied with their work.

When we discovered a sewer line break in our backyard, Mr. Rooter quickly and professionally came out to diagnose the issue. They gave a very competitive bid and explained every step of the process. When they uncovered something that was more difficult and costly to repair than in the bid, they stuck with their original estimate price and went above and beyond to finish the repair. This company has incredible integrity, and they have a ton of experience with plumbing jobs. I recommend them very highly for all your plumbing needs!

so last year i gave previous reviews on the crew for helping me get my former house ready to sell (excellent job and customer service) and i said they'd be my plumbers for my dream house... well they went above and beyond again with this sub-floor rough-in! worked hard and were on site promptly. but even more importantly, they helped me make critical decisions since this is my design & build (mid-century modern industrial) for my family. they asked frequent questions and made suggestions and we worked as a team to be certain that it was accurate while maintaining design integrity! Paul Sr., Paul and Andrew are like my graduate professors. i can't say anymore good things about these guys! i will give another review once the project is completed & with pics. They will be my go-to on my next custom design modern build.

We had a very, very good experience with Mr. Rooter. Locally and family operated, the owner himself took the water main line complete replacement job as a personal responsability, inspecting the site twice in preparation for the job. He explained all the procedure, time frame, cost and materials to use in plain English and examples of other jobs. Very open to new information and ideas, they take great pride in what they do (you can tell they LOVE doing this, not just another job), communication and punctuality was excellent, they cleaned my house after it was all finished. The cost was way more affordable than other big name companies and I liked the personal touch and attention to detail that Paul puts into his interactions. I surely don't want plumbing problems, but if I have them, Mr. Rooter has a loyal customer in us.

Called for a broken bathroom pipe replacement. I was installing a new sink and the old (80 yr. +) pipe broke. Called several other plumbing companies and was not able to get to me until the next day. Mr. Rooter was able to get to me within a couple of hours. Zack Olson was dispatched, showed up within a couple of hours and had the issue resolved within a couple more hours. Communications was great as I was kept informed throughout the entire process as to what was going on. Could not have asked for a better experience with a plumbing company. Would call Mr. Rooter again next time I need a plumber again in an emergency!

My sewer main clogged at it was found by a competitor that there was a break in my sewer main. Nothing major yet but it still needed attention. Mr. Rooter gave a very competitive bid for the work and offered an option that nobody else did: lining the main at the trouble instead of tearing up the yard and weakening the root system of a 60' tree. The repair was quick, professional, and cost effective. I would recommend them to anyone, anytime.

Sewer line backed up into basement. Fixed one issue that was collapsed and knew about a second seperation in our pipes. Wouldn't fix the second issue we had cause it was 2 feet farther. Paid for the first amount out of pocket. 3 months later the second issue happened and backed up basement again. Came out and tried to charge us again. When got insurance involved (which insurance thinks Mr. Rooter made the second issue worse upon repair of the first collapse) they refused to speak with me and when i did contact them. The dig manager wouldnt let me speak and hung up on me, and then sends me an outrageous estimate that was no where close to original fix amount.

Ruined my carpet and staircase by hauling a cast iron stack pipe, concrete, and mud out of the house without any precautions. . I requested booties be used, and was ignored. The sewer was left open, filling the house with Methane and other sewer gases. It remains unlivable. I will complete the work myself.

This place needs to learn a bit about what customer service is all about. Their receptionist Jennifer is extremely rude and actually hung up on a paying customer trying to get a question answered for services rendered. The owner of the company actually was joking about this to a neighbor. Very unprofessional company.

Paul and Andy came to unclog my drain for me. They are professionals. They correctly diagnosed the problem and got the problem resolved quickly. They have the right equipment to get the job done.

However, if you’re reading reviews you’re probably not interested in hiring on for this company. You’re most likely trying to evaluate your plumbing operations. I have seen the characters of the owners and the employees and I did not once see them take advantage of their customers. They would always treat everyone JUST as they wanted to be treated. I also saw the quality of work these men preformed. From concrete to quality of material they would always go above and beyond.

I cannot speak higher of their plumbing skills. With 3 master plumbers at the head teaching their knowledge to their workers you have a crazy amount of experience at your disposal. We fixed SO many jobs other plumbers in the area like Bob Hamilton, Roto Rooter, and others were incapable of completing. I personally learned so so much from them and I’m incredibly grateful.

Honest, upfront, professional and courteous is what these guys are about. I had to have my water tank replaced and I used Home Advisor. These guys were the first to call. But, I still wanted to get other quotes and called around. They were 1 of the few that would quote me over the phone and by far the best price. Once Paul arrived he was professional and courteous, he was also very easy to talk to. The job was completed in a very short time and the work they did was outstanding. I will using them again in the future for all of my plumbing needs. If you have a need for a plumber you would be hard pressed to find someone like these guys. This is not Rotor Rooter, they are Mr Rooter and a separate company.

My father's pipe burst when it was 0° outside. All other companies said they couldn't get to him until next week (including this company) BUT they called back an hour later and said they had a cancellation so they were on their way! Very nice guys!

These gentlemen are amazing! They worked in my basement for seven hours trying to figure out what was causing the sewer backup. Throughout the seven hours, they continually updated me on their progress and explained (in non-plumbing terms) what they were doing. Although I didn't end up needing them to replace anything, I was very pleased with their service and would definitely hire them again!

My main sewer line was backed up in my basement on Saturday at 4pm. Called Mr. Rooter and They had a plumber here in 90 minutes. Zach was polite and professional. Did a thorough job explaining the problem and fixed it within an hour. I am very happy. Thank you Zach!

Andrew is the owner and he is top notch plumber. Professional, knowledgeable and a good guy. We had a pretty major basement flood recently and Andrew and his team were awesome. They diagnosed the problem quickly (a broken sump pump), fixed it on the spot (they had a brand new pump in the truck) and got it working within 60 minutes. Totally saved the day and there's more rain in the forecast so we would have been in big trouble. Andrew even gave me some recommendations for things we could do as a failsafe so this doesn't happen again. He never put pressure on us, just gave us a series of clear options.I'd definitely use them again for any plumbing job.

Service was fine, but the cost was over 3 times what I've paid to clear the same drain pipe in the past. I'll shop around more next time.

We had a sewer line collapse and have been incredibly pleased with Mr. Rooters communication and response time. We were walked thru the entire process and shown via cameras what was going on with the line. Then were given options on how to proceed. Seriously one of the best experiences I have had with a plumbing services. They were on time, friendly and very responsible priced! I had other quotes and their’s was the cheapest. Plus they didn’t try to up-sell me (which I hate) and suggested ways that could save me money! What plumber does that?!?! Such good people!! They got to my house in less than 2 hrs from my phone call to help make sure all the water was shut off after a line broke. When they returned the following day they where early and took time to explain everything they needed to too.

They used up to date equipment and technology to diagnose the exact placement and cost of putting in a new accessable drain versus just cleaning the one hidden beneath the furnace....a permanent fix vs a bandaid solution. Also, their office called twice to update their arrival time.
They even retrieved a toothbrush from a bathroom sink with no charge..... And if your wondering, yes I threw the toothbrush away 🤣

Called on Friday evening ; they came out on Sunday afternoon, found clog and got it dtaining. Friendly service! A little more pricey than others.

I had sewer backing up into my basement. Called another company and 1.5 hours after the scheduled appointment they called to tell me they were not coming. I called Mr. Rooter and set up an appointment for the next morning and they sent me text notifications when they were on their way along with a pic of the technician that was headed to my house. so we have had about five different plumbers come look at our collapsed sewer line we’ve gone from one plumber that wanted about 21,000 more than he originally quoted. To other plumbers who wouldn’t even go into our basement . When we called Mr. Rooter we were pleasantly surprised to find their “to be lower than everyone else’s and they were willing to work with us on price. They are knowledgeable about what they were doing and they didn’t do anything halfway they came back as many times as it took to fix all of the problems they found . And more importantly when they found more problems than they had signed up for they didn’t raise the price on us they stuck to the original price ! Greatly appreciated and definitely recommend it to anyone for any plumbing problem !

Horrible experience!!!! Horrible customer service. My husband Valentino has had to go back and forth with them and to this day we still have a huge hole in our yard, that is a complete safety hazard. Do not go with this company unless you enjoy gambling.

Initial experience was pleasant and they were able to get my tenant’s water flowing, but same issue occurred less then 24 hours later. I had to call another company to get the situation further assessed.

Problem was assessed, addressed and resolved in under an hour and for $4000 less then Mr. Rooter quoted.

These poor guys didn't know what they were getting into with our mess here. An invasive tree, laterals that kept changing direction. The job took 4 days longer and was 500 times harder than it should have been. They were awesome. They kept us informed and rolled with the punches. I won't use any one else. Thanks Guys

I used Mr. Rooter to unclog a drain pipe and then line said pipe. The work they performed was adequate and I have no complaints about their on site staff.

Their follow up on the job is subpar. The pipe lining was done in February 2021. At that time, two mounds of dirt were left in the front yard. The people doing the work let me know that I should call back in a few months in the rain didn't settle everything back to an acceptable grade.

On August 13th we had finally had enough rainy days to tamp down the soil a bit. The two mounds stood tall, so I decided to call Mr. Rooter to take care of the landscaping they tore up. This lead to them scheduling someone to come out over and over, only for nobody to show up at the scheduled time. I called back a total of four times over two months and set another date in their system.

I just got off the phone with them again to cancel whatever might be in their calendar to visit my property. I will be finding a professional landscape service to clean up their job site after so many missed appointments.

Very overpriced ,almost could consider it a price gouge. Over $400 to install 1 toilet,toilet not included,wanted to charge me an additional$100to dispose of old toilet and then I had to call them out because it was not done correctly.taking advantage of customers!

We had a mixed experience with Mr. Rooter. Erron Butts was amazing. He was informative, patient, positive, and reliable. Things were not as smooth with one of the crew members who came to replace our house trap. He told us we had a collapsed line, and the collapse was too far out to try to clear it with an auger. We had another company come to give us a second opinion, and they were able to immediately clear the line with an auger, as the clog was just due to tree roots and only 40 feet out.

If you are needing septic line fixed then this is who to contact. They’re fair and great people. Highly knowledgeable in what they do! The team saw the job all the way through and even came to make sure concrete was poured and completed as scheduled. We can’t say enough what a great job they did. The plumber mislead me and was dishonest. He told me a simple clearance of the main would be $750 after I paid $150 to him. He didn't access the drain in the closest area to reach the clog. While I scheduled the expensive service I sought out another opinion and was able to have my issue fixed in less than an hour for less than $100 including a warranty and camera scan after. I chose Mr. Rooter because that's who my parents used and now will never trust Mr. Rooter again.

First off, I want to say that the gentlemen that came out and actually worked on our sewer lines were very professional. The customer service since then has been a nightmare.
We hired Mr. Rooter back in September of 2020 to repair and reline our pipes. They came out and did what they needed to do for the pipes and then told us they would come back out to grade our yard a few days after. Well, they never came back to grade the yard. We have been going back and forth trying to get our yard graded since that was part of our contract. Now they are having a hard time finding our information when just last week they were able to find all the information needed to get us scheduled this week to have our yard graded. We were scheduled for 8/24 and no one showed up to come grade the yard. Then we received a text message saying they were coming 8/25, then 8/26. and they never showed up. Apparently the crew that grades the yards don't work on the weekends or the mornings so we are still waiting on our service to be completed, almost an ENTIRE YEAR LATER. We paid $10,000 cash in good faith that they would come back out and complete the contract, and we are still waiting for them to complete our contract. If you decide to go with Mr. Rooter, wait to pay them until the work is COMPLETELY finished. If not, you will have a very hard time getting this company to come out and finish the job.

Called Monday morning for a sewer back up and they were able to come out within an hour. Very professional and explained what they were doing. Up front with pricing and explained options. I will definitely call Mr. Rooter in the future.

These guys are great!
We had our sewer line break and cause a back up. They came out on Saturday, diagnosed it and provided an estimate.
We called them back late Monday and . they are ready. They were here to work early Wednesday (they couldn't start until the city permit was issued) dug 12ft. down to the pipes, fixed the problem, had it inspected, and refilled the trench before day's end. They even came back to grade the yard on Thursday.
Friendly, honest, and timely. I would definitely reccomend that you call them the next time you need plumbing done right.

Plumber, Ryan Coffelt, was prompt and efficient. He quickly repaired a leaking valve, replaced a dripping faucet and gave us advice on keeping our drains clear. We highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again.

Homeowners beware; do your research before contacting Mr. Rooter or “hiring” them to do work on your home. First and foremost, this is not about price, but about quality of work and ownership. The technician that came out to our home was very friendly; however, the owner was not. I had a hot water heater and approximately 6 feet of copper lines to the hot water heater that needed to be replaced. The old lines had a couple of saddle valves in them; I needed one of those for a connection to an ice maker in a fridge. Prior to any work being started, I clearly expressed I did not want another saddle valve installed due to their poor quality. With that having been said, I was under the assumption they would be replacing it with a ball valve connection. Once the work was completed, I noticed they used one of my old saddle valves in the new line for the ice maker. After having discussed this with the owner, he came off defensive and abruptly stated they did not have a new valve because they do not carry them due to their poor quality. The owner stated we would have to pay an additional cost for a different valve, however, given the price and work we agreed on, $1400, this should never have been a topic up for discussion AFTER the work was completed. The price of the hot water heater we received from Mr. Rooter is approximately $479 at Lowe’s, the ball valve is about $25. On a side note, according to HomeAdvisor, the average cost of a hot water heater installation in KC is $880. We were told by the owner that yes, we could have purchased from Lowe’s if we knew how to install or flat out said, we could have researched better and found a different plumber. I have to question the integrity of an owner who thinks it’s ok to run his business and allow his employees to re-install a used product against the wishes of their customers knowing this will affect the quality and efficiency of their customer’s homes in the future.

As every google user knows, each review is a he said she said situation so to quote Mr. Rooter you better do your research before doing business with them and I would suggest getting every detail in writing so there is no misunderstanding.

Mr. Rooter came back out and replaced the saddle valve with a ball valve at no additional cost.
