I’m a Realtor and property investor and property manager and have managed hundreds of properties in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. This is by far the worst mechanical company in the Indianapolis area that I’ve dealt with and I’ve dealt with them all. I feel like it’s my responsibility to save others from the experiences I’ve had with them. Here’s my latest experience with them: I had an hvac tech at one of rental properties yesterday for the condensate pump that was leaking. Just after the tech leaves the AC won’t turn on even though it’s been working perfectly all summer. So I call them back out today. Bill calls me and says he has to replace the entire system or nothing. I explain to him that I don’t want to do that and he hangs up on me in mid sentence of me explaining why I don’t want to replace the system as it was working fine and tells me to use a different company. My tenant then sees Bill put the wire back on the capacitor so it appears that the tech yesterday disconnected the capacitor so that’s why it wouldn’t work. Don’t waste your time calling them. They are quick but that is all they are. They will charge you at least double what any other company will charge (I know this by experience). They will tell you every time that your system needs replaced and won’t repair anything unless they replace it even when the system was working perfectly and just needed a condensate pump and then they will tell you that unless they replace the entire system they will leave and won’t help you. This just happened and this type of thing has happened every time I have used them. I only used them because they could get there quicker than the other guys but it’s not worth it. It doesn’t matter what the issue is you can guarantee that the entire system needs replaced according to them. They are dishonest, price gouging, and have terrible customer service. I’ve been a Realtor and property manager for 15 years in multiple big cities including Los Angeles and Indianapolis and this has to be the worst mechanical company I’ve ever dealt with. They use all your extra (price gouged) money on the catchy radio commercials but don’t be fooled by them. If you want honesty, integrity, and good customer service use someone else. Latest update:

Bill was great! After a couple of weeks of our garbage disposal not working, we scheduled an appointment. He texted to confirm the time the night before and let me know he may be a little late due to an earlier appointment - awesome communication - and only showed up a few minutes past 10:30. He was quick, efficient, had no issue pinpointing the problem (how a rock managed to get down there, I’ll never know), and was in and out in 15 minutes, leaving me with a fixed garbage disposal, a quick dejamming-a-garbage-disposal how-to, and the knowledge that if it leaks, it’s gotta get replaced. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! While attending to a foundation issue, we discovered a break in the sewer line. Speed and availability were crucial as the excavation was underway and I had a big hole next to my house. So the line problem needed to be fixed and fixed fast so the other job could be finished as well. l was in danger of getting stuck with a big hole for a number of days and dying shrubbery that had been temporarily displaced.. I sent out the Bat-Signal and reflexively initially called upon some the big plumbing names; long long delays were quoted. Mike, at Service 1 Plumbing, personally answered my phone call. He immediately fit me in to take a look. (I think he was here within about a half-hour, on his way to another job). He diagnosed the problem; identified the cause; came up with a plan; and quoted me a very reasonable rate. He worked cooperatively with the other contractor on site and my sewer-line problem was resolved within a few hours--well ahead of his initial goal of resolving the problem before noon. Mike investigated other potential issues and determined there were no defects down the line. He also pointed out the extra steps he took to make the entire set up more secure than it had been following the original construction. I spoke with him afterwards. Mike has been doing it for 30+ years. He runs a small, professional, local business. He takes pride in his workmanship and service to the community. Obviously he takes ownership of his work product. In the world of contractors, I am always looking to find a guy who I can count on who does X. Mike is now forever more . . . my plumbing guy. You should consider making him yours. (By the way, guy in this case is intended to be a gender neutral term and only refers to a person (man or woman) who I can count on to be fast, fair and to do a good job (mechanic/electrician/HVAC, whatever)--if I had a gender-neutral term that captured the same arm's-length-small-business-owner vibe, I would have used it.) Our furnace was having multiple problems and it took Efficient Systems several times coming out and they also had to get the factory representative involved to finally solve the problems. They only charged me for part of the repairs and the biggest part they got covered by factory warranty. The owner of Efficient Systems also came out to be sure the job was completed right. I would highly recommend them for service. They stayed with the problem until it was resolved and made sure that we had heat.

Love working with these folks. Work is started & completed on time as promised. Always professional & nice people to work with. Always refer them to clients when I can.

Used them for two different issues. 1. Heat pump checkup. AJ was very thorough. Identified a couple of issues and provided several options. Polite, pleasant and professional. 2. Drain in utility room is clogged. Jen arrived promptly. She was persistent in finding the reason for the trouble, doing several tests to determine the source of the problem. She too was pleasant and professional.
