Best Home Remodeling Services in Phoenix AZ

My wife and I purchased our Home, a Midcentury Modern built in 1955 by Ralph Haver in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Home had original ungrounded wiring with exposed wire splicing. There were also two rooms that were added by a previous owner without permits.

Ultimately, we wanted to fully restore our Home to its original character, while at the same time, installing all of the safety, amenities and conveniences found in homes of new construction today.

We interviewed a handful of contactors for this task, Steve Shinn from Homework Remodels being one of them. Steve immediately stood out from the group. We found him easy to talk to, prompt and extremely knowledgeable with the historic characteristics of our Haver Home.

With Steve’s help, we nearly rebuilt most of the major components of our Home. When it was said and done, we upgraded the entire wiring and electric panel, installed new HVAC main unit and ducting lines, replaced all of the plumbing lines (both supply and drain lines including the sewer), installed LED recessed lighting throughout the Home, constructed a stem wall, a trench drain and added mini split HVAC units which the City required for issuing permits for the two unpermitted rooms, installed a 16” slider to the backyard, utilized steel beams to remove loan bearing walls in order to open up the kitchen and the living rooms, installed a tankless water heater system, applied sprayed insulation in the small attic, and performed various other upgrades.

We are very happy with Steve’s work. We found Steve’s work to be of high quality and found Steve’s expertise and creativity in helping rebuild our Haver Home to be invaluable.

We plan on hiring Steve in the near future to complete Phase 2 of our Home, which will include all of the finishes.

Jeremy and the rest of the team were great to work with in remodeling our bathroom. Although small, it was a technically complex remodel with limited space. They did an excellent job from start to finish, and we were updated every step of the way.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank TWD (Todd Whittaker Drywall, Inc) for another great job completed. They updated two bathrooms for me right before Christmas. Another job completed on time with the best craftsmanship, by the best craftsman and woman around.
The job was started by tearing everything out and betting everything ready for all of the new things. Isidro Ramirez and crew arrived on time and got right to work, laying down several layers of protective material on the floors. Usually this is the most dreaded part of any major rehab job. They were quick, quiet and clean. When they left after every day’s work, the work areas were all cleaned up. This was true throughout the whole job. Then it was time to frame out what was needed to be framed and install new fans, etc. Felix Farias was there. Got all of the work done early and went on to take the time to show me what he had done and how things were going to go back together. Then came the dry wall work, painting, tile and trim work.
Maria Garcia can get the dry wall up, finished and painted faster than anyone I have ever seen. Jaime Reyes and Salvador Celiz were great, paying attention to detail all the way through.
Again, great craftsmen.
Cohaco Building Specialties provided and installed all the glass and mirrors for the job. They arrived on time and got all of their work done on time and left the work sites just as clean as when they arrived.
The tub/shower walls were supplied by Patrician Marble Co. A couple adjustments had to be made to the shower walls which were taken care of quickly and with the highest level of attention to detail.
The counter tops and cabinets were installed by USP Granite LLC and Oak Tree Cabinets. Both companies did great work and are highly recommended.
All of the plumbing work was done by Bebee Plumbing. They came in and did all of the plumbing install in one day. While they were there, my water heater went out. Someone was sent out to check and see if it could be fixed. The unit had to be replaced. Bebee Plumbing sent someone out with a new unit that evening and changed out everything and I had hot water. You can’t ask for better service than that.
I would also like to give a special shout out to Donn Milton who through all of his hard work and perseverance, always keeping an eye on the schedule, kept things going. Like a well-oiled machine!
He knew how long each phase was going to take and had the next crew prepped and ready to go. All material was staged and ready to go, and there were no hold ups at all waiting on things that were needed to complete the project to arrive. He kept in constant contact with me via phone, text and email making sure everything was going well and letting me know what was going on and any updates to the schedule. A job well done!
I can not say enough about how grateful I am to TWD for the great work they have done at my house over the many years and many projects they have completed for me. They have worked in my home both when I was there and when I was gone. I trust them completely! All of their workers are of the highest standards and trust worthiness.

Remodels are always late and over-budget. I am sure you have heard that before. That summarizes our experience. We remodeled our floors, kitchen and bathroom. They were not cheap, end product was good but way over-budget, late and full of surprises. We made our selections and signed our lives away in March 2019, the project was completed in October 2019. We decided to finance the project, the sales rep indicated we would not need to provide a downpayment so we signed our lives away. A few months later the owner contacted us and indicated we needed to pay a 30% downpayment so that they could place the order. 30%!!!!!!!!

If they actually worked every business day this project would have taken 1 month.

Would I hire them again? NO
Would I go through a remodel again? NO

Paul was great! We worked with Neoteric Builders to remodel a kitchen in a home we recently purchased. He is trustworthy, his prices were fair, he was knowledgeable, and responsive, and worked quickly. He left the job site clean and he worked with us to give us the kitchen of our dreams. Anthony worked with our budget. We were remodeling a 35-year-old townhome. Anthony was always responsive and actually came to the location and gave us valuable input that we would not have known regarding location of specific type of drawers in specific locations of the kitchen, best ways to remodel and upgrade bathrooms etc. he was very hands on .

Kitchen countertop project: I put together a general scope of work for my project. Every contractor that bid this was working from the same set of requirements. CustomCreative was the only contractor who both understood and improved the SoW before making their proposal. Their bid was realistic and extremely competitive. Terms were fair. Praveen (owner) also indulged my desire to clarify the final contract with more details. This was a very good sign. Their office is in Scottsdale, my home is in Sun City West....no problem - they're happy to do business with far west metro customers. The team at Legacy saved my mental state after a different company left my bathroom in shambles. I contacted Legacy because I had seen the work they did on my parents house years before and knew they would be able to salvage and restore our bathrooms dignity! Immediately we were met with professionalism, honesty and transparency in regards to the project we wanted done. Between Brian, Ian and Ritchie, we never for a moment felt like things would get lost along the way or mishandled. And we were right-the job was impeccable. They scheduled with us in a timely manner, they kept the lines of communication open and updated daily and they answered all of my questions along the way. Not to mention how clean they kept everything during the process which was a concern for me considering i've been heavily pregnant the whole time. Oh and last but most importantly- THE TURN OUT!! We have two bathrooms now that look like they belong in a five star Spa. Theyre stunning, and everyone who comes over makes sure to let us know how incredible they are. Overall a great experience. Dennis has been in the business for a long time and really knows the products. We used the Cambria line of cabinets in Saddle color. Excellent line of cabinets . Good selection of sizes,
to make your layout work for you. Moses did the fabrication and install.
I have personally been doing granite in the Midwest for many years,and I was thoroughly impressed Moses work! Much of the fabrication was done on site, by hand, and he is a true craftsman. The process happens a little slower in Phoenix than what I'm used too, but I would use Superior Stone again for sure..

Maxum is the best. We couldn’t be more pleased with our bathrooms. From the initial contact with John and Taylor, when they came to our house to take measurements, to the final inspection, they were professionals with a personal touch. Within two or three days, a design for the master bath was sent to us for review. The plan was excellent and fit our space perfectly. After a visit to the show room for a detailed discussion, we decided to have both bathrooms remodeled simultaneously. The two professionals who worked on the project, Ricardo and Jose, were extremely skilled and talented. There were no delays, no glitches, everything went smoothly and attention to detail was always in the forefront. The custom-made vanities, cabinets and tiling are exceptional. The most important aspect was the communication between Maxum and us. Everything was open and honest and Maxum delivered. We could not recommend them more for a remodel and will no doubt use them again in the future.
