Best Repair Emergency in Houston TX
I was totally unprepared and clueless about what to do when our house suddenly lost power on Sunday. I called several electricians that open 24 hours and left messages or spoke to customer services who promised an electrician will call me. Paul was the only one called back and so patiently guided me to self-diagnose the problem. I am so grateful because he is not only so kind but so understanding. He is the only electrician I will go to in the future as I won’t even bother trying anyone.

I had a bathroom outlet that was no longer working. Justin came in and diagnosed the problem quickly, about 15 min, and explained what would need to be done to fix it (he claimed the estimate would be free). What was needed was simply a new (gfi) outlet needed to be installed - but he made it seem like it was alot more involved.. He then provided an estimate of $200. When I asked how much the part cost, he immediately dropped the price to $150 and got pushy as if this was the going rate for this sort of service. So taking his advice, I allowed him to perform the service. It took him another 10 min to install the new gfi outlet. The following day, without having him push me into a sale, I looked up and found the top tier gfi outlet was ~$20, max. Which means he charged me $130 for his 10 min of labor. I called him and confronted him about the price gouging, and when I asked to see a price break down of exactly what I was charged for, he refused to send me anything further than saying that he and his company charge by the project and the more than $750/hour rate, was to cover the business's overhead. I will NEVER hire A-1 again, and I would recommend anyone who would like to pay a fair price for the service to do the same.

Called in to get an estimate for outlet issues in our home and instead of going straight to costs, the gentleman I spoke to explained the root cause and helped me fix the issue on my own. I had called multiple other places to get an idea of costs prior to calling on time electric and nobody else offered that kind of customer service. Will be calling them back for future electric issues.

Jonatan and Jon came out to help me diagnose and electrical problem and fix it. They were both really nice and professional. They were patient with me while they answered all my questions when I inquired about what they were doing and why. The finished wiring and switches were clean and organized. Good quality.

Previously 3 stars. Good solid work and employees seem very nice and knowledgeable. I would have given 5 stars but they need to be upfront about their paid to travel and pick up parts policy. I advise getting an upfront estimate for the job. I was trying to be supportive of local business and was open to paying hourly but I felt overcharged for time where no work was conducted. They charge for travel time for parts.....even if they forget and have to go back for more parts. So it’s best to get an understanding of the total job and parts, so you aren’t charged for unnecessary travel. I would use them again, but I’m going to get an estimate first.Update: Changed my rating to one star (previously 3 stars) after the false claims the owner made below and how inappropriate her response was. If they can blatantly lie on a public forum, they are capable of doing anything. See previous poor reviews. It was not a huge discount since one should only pay for work that was done. They removed one hour charge which should have never been charged in the first place. They call that a huge discount???? And I was not told that they would charge for travel from the start. The tech brought the wrong breaker switch parts and would have to go back for the right one. The first tech likely communicated the wrong equipment which is the reason the second tech had to correct this. A customer should not have to pay for that. If they would have said this, I would have gladly asked to give me an upfront estimate before approving the work. In addition, the tech did not wait an hour for me on a conference call. He waited 15 min (not one hour!!) and I told him when he called the day before that I would be on a conference call. So the tech was well aware of this. I even have security camera footage that can prove this. As you can see from my previous review, I kindly said I would use them again but request an upfront estimate, but after this very rude response, I will not. They charged me for 8 hours of work. When actual work done was 4 hours based on my own security camera. And they sent a tech one day and I never heard back from that tech. So they had to send a different tech where I spent another good part of my time to show the same stuff twice. Yes...time is not free, but when I had a very simple job I don’t expect that to take the amount of days and hours to complete. My wife waited all morning one day for the tech to show and he never did. They installed an outdoor ceiling fan and switch (which was the only time the baby nap time COULD have been an issue since the attic entrance was in the baby’s room), 20 ft of OUTSIDE conduit to a motion light on the garage apartment ( no sleeping baby issue there) and replaced three breaker switches located OUTSIDE (no sleeping baby issue again). That amount of work doesn’t take 8 hours. They provided a so called 2 hour discount while still charging me for 6 hours which is above the amount of actual hours worked. So I have been very very patient....this was even after calling a good solid week in advance to arrange the appointment. And the sleeping baby went to bed at 2pm for one hour and They said they just needed access to the attic to run wire for the ceiling fan and would not need to go in there again. So the sleeping baby was not an issue. I am so shocked by the response of this business.

I find it hard to believe I've tolerated such a flawed wiring scheme for so long. When this electrician saved me, I was very grateful! In addition to doing a great job installing the light fixtures, he also managed to keep costs as low as feasible. He was able to set up every piece of equipment on our security system and even made it specifically for us!

I was referred fo them by family ! He had a great experience with a single electrician who came and got the job done ! I got sent a team of 3, the lead lied about how the outlet needs to go over the roof and gave an unrealistic fake situation to over charge us. Tried reaching out to the owner and help desk to hear various excuses ! Charging 1700$ for installing a Tesla wall plug which costs $400 is outrageous! They ended connecting using a 8ft cord but quoted us a 50 ft quote ! Will try this method and will be reaching out to Texas licensing authority in Austin !

We are so pleased with our experience using Mr. Electric West. Our company was requested to install pool equipment. There was no room in the electrical panel and we required a master electrician to come install a new subpanel and breakers for the expansion. Our technician, Jeremy F., was on time, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. The subpanel installation was a success and the homeowner was very pleased we found them. 10/10 - Will use them again.Another special shout out to Jacqueline and Lauren, the customer service representatives that assisted us with scheduling. Highly professional and cared about the needs of our business.Thank you to everyone at Mr. Electric West!

I called because the WiFi and my ring weren’t working although when I tested the Ring it showed power and responded to WiFi but wouldn’t ring except on my phone. The Ring connector was previously wired to the old doorbell and had started ringing continuously which was why I called Wired. The worker rewired the ring connection to the attic after reading the Manuel and talking to someone more familiar with ring than he was. After he did this the Ring didn’t work at all. He tried several options but although he showed there was power going to the Ring, it no longer even would ring on the phone. After several hours of trying he said I had to contact Ring.I called Ring and they sent a replacement that I will try to install this weekend.Spend several hours and a lot of money on a very nice repair man but the problem isn’t resolved.

This was the most horrible electrician I've ever called. Mr. Sparky has been bought out and new owner. The electrician they sent out was fiddling with my electrical outlets and now been burdened with an enormous repair with another company. He did NOT know what he was doing. He was all over the map on his quote and kept back peddling when asked with a question. The quotes came back all over the map and was $$$ exhorbitant for what was needed. Not only have I now been saddled with enormous damage from the electrician at my home but I called the owner back, asked for the owner. He never called me back, sent his wife to call me. She laughed at me on the phone, refused to return my $89 service call and said they pride themselves on making money 100-200/week calls of $89. They are looking at volume and not integrity. The old Mr. Sparky reputation is gone. Mr. Sparky is no longer the owner. I would never recommend this company. Horrible! Customer beware!
