In the first stages of researching people to do a bathroom remodel, I reached out to friends & co-workers. I received ZERO recommendations from them, but a few who not to work with as well as hearing the story of how one of my co-workers had an open BBB complaint against the company they used. I've never done this size remodel before so I was already a little nervous, but hearing their stories stressed me out!

I went online to do some research and that included NextDoor and the Living Chandler Facebook group. Checked out past remodel posts and noted any companies that were recommended multiple times. Once I got a fair amount of companies, I started calling them for initial consultations. After that I narrowed it down to 3 for in-home consultations and quotes.

All 3 quotes were in the same ballpark, which was good since I didn't feel like anyone was trying to take advantage of me. I went with Phoenix Home Remodeling (PHR), because unlike some of the others, they didn't try to push me in a specific design direction and didn't try to force expensive options. Seriously, one company really tried to upsell me on everything, even when I would share concerns.

Jeremy, Ben, Mark, and Jason made me feel comfortable and, while working with them, reinforced that I made the correct decision by listening to my questions and concerns. They were able to take general ideas/concepts and make them a reality! Their subs also helped reinforce that I went with the right people. Lupe (tile), Roy (vanity), Cody (woodworking, misc), and everyone else were friendly, polite, asked me questions to make sure they got things right, and did a wonderful job.

Any kind of remodeling can be overwhelming, and PHR was the perfect guide through the process and helping me keep my sanity. I've already recommended them and will continue to do so, and I look forward to using them again! (apologies for the novel, but I can't say enough good things about PHR)

We had new shower/tub and new shower installed. The installers, Andés and Kory did an amazing job. They arrived on time and got right to work . They are like a well oiled machine. They work hard, take great care and ask questions when needed and they answered our questions all along the process. They ran into some obstacles because we have an older house and they pushed through and figured it out. So they had to work an extra day. They set up their workshop in the yard and it is so efficient. I think they need a canopy to work under because it is very, very hot!!! They never stop. Andrés is so knowledgeable and an excellent craftsman. I was concerned about a few things and he assured me that all would be fine and it was. Kory is a great plumber and works well with Andrés. He is so positive and.hardworking.Their professionalism and quality of work was very evident.We are extremely happy with the end result. Thank you.

North Phoenix Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling Team was beyond amazing, they helped us install some pretty tricky pieces successfully, they also painted and smoothed a wall. Great services.

My wife and I purchased our Home, a Midcentury Modern built in 1955 by Ralph Haver in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Home had original ungrounded wiring with exposed wire splicing. There were also two rooms that were added by a previous owner without permits.

Ultimately, we wanted to fully restore our Home to its original character, while at the same time, installing all of the safety, amenities and conveniences found in homes of new construction today.

We interviewed a handful of contactors for this task, Steve Shinn from Homework Remodels being one of them. Steve immediately stood out from the group. We found him easy to talk to, prompt and extremely knowledgeable with the historic characteristics of our Haver Home.

With Steve’s help, we nearly rebuilt most of the major components of our Home. When it was said and done, we upgraded the entire wiring and electric panel, installed new HVAC main unit and ducting lines, replaced all of the plumbing lines (both supply and drain lines including the sewer), installed LED recessed lighting throughout the Home, constructed a stem wall, a trench drain and added mini split HVAC units which the City required for issuing permits for the two unpermitted rooms, installed a 16” slider to the backyard, utilized steel beams to remove loan bearing walls in order to open up the kitchen and the living rooms, installed a tankless water heater system, applied sprayed insulation in the small attic, and performed various other upgrades.

We are very happy with Steve’s work. We found Steve’s work to be of high quality and found Steve’s expertise and creativity in helping rebuild our Haver Home to be invaluable.

We plan on hiring Steve in the near future to complete Phase 2 of our Home, which will include all of the finishes.

Although there were a few supply issues, even they the guys managed to complete the task within the given time, they were very professional and educated. Keep up the excellent work.

Our old stall shower was demolished , and a new and larger one was created in the old space. The demo of the old resulted a bit of damage to the adjoining bedroom wall, and we neglected to report it, as we assumed the crew would report it. We just had it repaired, which required plastering two areas and repainting the wall. The new shower is functioning fine and is a beautiful addition to the bathroom. We needed a walk-in shower for my husband. ReBath did a fabulous job. We are happy with professional manner of Mr Smith and Randy the installer. I have allergies and worried about construction mess and air pollution. Randy kept the vacuum going and I did even get a head ache. I had my master bathroom remodeled a couple of months ago. What a amazing experience dealing with Mark and his staff. Mark did a outstanding job working with my wife helping her design the bathroom. Everything turned out better than expected we love our walk in showroom and the quality of the work was top notch. Paul did a great job of coming in everyday to check on the progress and helped out. I have another bathroom that I will need done and I know who I will call. The employee's working there are the best and very good at there craft. If anyone needs a bathroom remodeled this company is the best in town.

I want to caveat this one-star review by saying I am still hoping that Holzman does the right thing and returns our full deposit. When that happens I will gladly increase this rating.

There are a lot of good things about Holtzman and my wife and my experience with them started out very well. We chose Holtzman to remodel our bathroom due to the positive reviews they received on Yelp and Google. We received excellent service from our superintendent and, after choosing a layout and materials, we submitted our deposit so that work could get started. A tentative start date was set about two months out and we were told we’d be contacted soon with more info on the timeframe. A week went by. Then two. Then three. I emailed our superintendent multiple times with no response. I finally tracked down his cell number only to learn that he had quit the company and been told not to contact any of the people he’d been working with. We were concerned about the lack of communication at this point but decided to keep going. Our old superintendent gave us the contact info for someone at Holtzman who would reschedule us and get us a new superintendent. We were rescheduled but we wanted to ask our new superintendent about some details. So we were given his information and we emailed him. No reply. So we called him. No reply. After a month we had not had any communication with this superintendent. Then Holtzman randomly had someone come over to measure for the cabinets, though this had already been done and the guy who was doing it said that “this isn’t really my job”. Finally, we had someone knock on our door at 7am unscheduled and unannounced saying he was there to do the framing. We were all very confused as we still hadn’t spoken to the superintendent and no work had been scheduled. At this point, we lost confidence in the process. We had been left in the dark after the superintendent we liked left. The new one assigned to us was completely non-communicative. And now we had random trades coming over for no reason.

I told Holtzman that we did not want to proceed with them and would like our deposit back. They responded by saying they were going to keep $2,000 of it for salaries and work that had been completed. This confused me to say the least, since all they had done since we put the deposit down was ghost us and send random people to our house. We asked for a breakout of these expenses, which they never provided.

We had every intention of proceeding with Holtzman until the process broke down. We have not received $2,000 of value. No work was done. To the contrary, it has caused considerable wasted time and worry.

I respectfully ask Holtzman to refund our whole deposit so that I can update this review to confirm that you are a fair company who cares about customer satisfaction. Thank you.

They did a wonderful job remodeling our old fireplace and living room area. They came up with a good game plan, they were fast and efficient and made things look correct even if it took multiple days. We would definitely recommend TWD and team!

Really enjoyed working with Ross. He always had quality in mind and always seemed to go the extra mile. As a former contractor, I highly recommend him for your bathroom remodel!

I love my home now that Maxum has replaced all my flooring. I had carpet everywhere now I have beautiful wood like tile throughout. I'm amazed by house big and open it looks now. Great job Maxum!

We had an unfortunate situation earlier this year - a slab leak under our kitchen sink - which forced us into doing a kitchen remodel as we lost half of our kitchen during the process of fixing the leak. We received a referral from someone else to contact Bret from Rise Above. When calling Bret, he said he would call me back as he was at another job, and returned my call within just minutes. He was super friendly and responsive. He came to our home to give an estimate in just a few days after my initial phone call. Bret was pleasant, informative and made us feel comfortable choosing his company to do the work. We had a complete kitchen makeover, including removal of a wall and raising the kitchen ceiling. We also had tile put throughout our whole house, aside from the bedrooms. Rise Above also remodeled both of our bathrooms. This was something we've never endured before - a complete overhaul of most of our home. We were nervous to spend the money and have our house completely torn up. We were completely satisfied with the work done to our home. I am a bit of a perfectionist and I felt they had the same care to detail that my husband and I have. They were friendly, responsive and never once made us feel pressured. I would highly recommend Bret, Skyler, Randy and Louis to do any work for you.

I decided to do a major remodel of my home. It was overwhelming until I got much needed help from The Remodel Store and More. It was truly More as I not only was provided with the materials I needed but also with recommendations as far as flooring, cabinets, and color schemes.
