Best Installation / Replacement in Anchorage AK

Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had working with a company. I went with them to install a gas insert which was installed all wrong. I expected the owner of the business to care more about the issue but instead he threatened my husband to put a lein on our home instead of remedy any of the bill. Might I add we didn’t receive the bill for 7 months after the work was done because they were sending it to the wrong email. No call until 7 months later which I immediately called back. The job was done so poorly that it showed up on my home inspection when selling! He called the inspector uneducated to this situation and me a liar. Don’t give these guys a dime of your money. I’m appalled at the amount of money I paid to be so unhappy with the job done.

I saw a “before and after” photo on the Nextdoor app. Twice I saw photos that could be my bathroom. Then one day I saw a post that they had “openings” in their busy schedule and I made the call. Demarco came by. He listened to my vision, took measurements and photos. I was given a quote later that same day. I was given an estimate of time, 10 business days to complete. They did the job in 11. In all fairness, the extra day was due to a change I requested, so I am very happy with the time taken and estimates of. The attention to details was really good.
They had gutted to the studs and gave me a brand new bathroom. Soaking tub, new toilet and vanity.
I look forward to using the team on my kitchen remodel!

I got an appointment earlier than I expected; they texted my appointment time, a reminder, and when the tech was en route. The tech was on time, friendly, professional and took care of all my issues.

Called at 8am and the hwh was replaced by 5. Tino and Shawn did a great job. Friendly and professional. Thanks!

Had Tyler work on my furnace, he knocked it out quickly, very professional and friendly. Will definitely call them back up if I have any service issues.

Called over to fix the heat. Was very rude and creepy. Angry when he couldn't do the repairs he wanted to. Was supposed to come back the next day to change the filters. Never came back and never answered calls. Steer clear of this one.

John has plenty of knowledge in both plumbing and heating and has experience in both residential and commercial in Anchorage. He took care of my home's issue quickly and efficiently. Great guy, friendly and professional. Will call him again.

Larry from Klebs was a great help, knowledgeable, and friendly. He diagnosed the problem with our furnace and was back a few days later to install the new part. He even helped us with an override of the control panel to have heat while waiting for the new one. Larry became a welcome guest in our home after the first visit - I was comfortable with him here to install the control board when my husband was not home, which I find very important. I also must give kudos to Klebs for their fair pricing - their service fee was the best in town and the control panel was sold to us at a fair market price. Thank you, Klebs and Larry! Tons of stars, highly recommend!

Sound Mechanical has absolutely MISERABLE customer service. It is apparently not within the realm of possibility that this company can make a mistake. When we mentioned to the owner that his workers left a beer bottle behind he told us we were lying and cussed at us. We could care less that there was a beer bottle left behind, just wanted him to know as a business owner. We also let him know that the dryer vent was now disconnected (they had to move the washer and dryer to get to the water heater). He informed me that someone must have moved the washer and dryer after they left. The washer and dryer are a million pounds and neither me nor my tenants touched it after they left. We also didn't care that they made mistakes, just wanted it fixed. The owner was irate that we pointed these things out and used foul language when speaking to us. Last noteworthy items, they did not replace the bathroom door, they left it in my tenants bedroom. They left crud all over the floor in their work area. They also damaged the railing outside my house when they launched the old water heater over the railing instead of walking it down. You'd never believe it, but he didn't apologize for that either.

Brad was very professional, and had the problem fixed within an hour. Outstanding service and will use his business again if needed. If you need a plumber this is your guy!

Do not hire this company. I hired this company this past month when my 10 year old water heater broke and needed to be replaced. Instead of replacing the visibly rusty water heater, they replaced the coupler. I called to complain after my credit card was charged the next day for work I did not authorize. I was ignored and blown off by the office staff saying it was a miscommunication.

3 days later my hot water heater broke again, this time it flooded my house. I called Mountain Mechanical before regular hours explaining my situation with their after hours staff with a message for them to call me when they opened. I never received a call. I called them again the next day and asked to speak with the manager/owner about the situation of my hot water heater flooding my house after their work. I was told the manager was on a job and would call me back. No call!

This company is responsible for a flood that cost ~$8000 worth of damage to my house. First, they did not replace the water heater that needed to be replaced. Second, they did work on my hot water heater that was not authorized. Third, whatever work they did, my hot water heater seems to be what caused the hot water heater to start leaking. Fourth, they are doing nothing to make good on their mistake.

Terrible service, work quality and questionable ethics.

Awesome company! Very responsive. All of my questions were answered and any concerns addressed. They removed a window and replaced it with a sliding patio door. In the process they had to move an electrical outlet and a baseboard heating resister. Now I have someone to tackle all of my projects big or small. I can’t recommend them enough! A+++++
