Best Floor Drains in Boston MA
I called for a neighbor whose main drain clogged on the last day of the year. They sent over a technician who didn't know how to open the main drain pipe...and said they'd send someone more expert two days later!
A total contrast to prior experiences, which is why I nonetheless gave 2* - but for this visit, not even deserving of one.

I manage hundreds of properties across Greater Boston. CTW by far is the best vendor that I use, the owner is extremely knowledeable and most importantly trust worthy. Becky who runs the day to day is super pleasant and great to work with. We use them for hundreds of repairs calls a year, in addition as a general contractor they do plumbing for all our construction jobs. Definitely reach out and contact them if you are in need of a great plumbing company

I was very pleased to have found McMahon Plumbing after struggling to find consistent plumbers elsewhere. My highest praise goes to McMahon Plumbing & Heating, particularly with their responsiveness and attentiveness to resolving all issues with my heating system. John and Sokol were able to quickly visit and fortunately accommodate my inconsistent availability. They were very thorough in diagnosing the issues with my hot water-based radiator system and Buderus boiler, and came back the next day to install new parts: fill valve, coin vent, relief valve. It's never fun having to cough up money on repairs, but working with McMahon made it as painless as possible. Several weeks later, I can confidently tell they addressed all possible issues. Thanks, McMahon!

After 3 weeks in our new home we discovered a leaky tub. We called drain flow late, expecting to leave a voice mail for the next morning. We were pleasantly surprised to get our call answered and an appointment for the next day. Can't say enough good things about Anthony. Great communication, excellent customer service, affordable, quality work. Highly highly recommend!

This was a new experience for my father’s home and once Shayla picked up the phone she made me feel comfortable with a sense that I was in good hands. Tico and his crew arrived in less than 30 minutes after I placed the first the call and thoroughly inspected where was the issue with the sewer lateral pipe break and identified it; as another company in Boston provided my father wrong info on the lateral break. Tico,Brandon along with everyone on his crew were so amazing and professional. They got the job done in a few hours! Many people I’ve spoken to have also said many excellent things about this company. I would absolutely give this company more than 5 stars if I could and plan on calling them again in the future from now on!!

It's my Dad's plumbing company, so... He's good at fixing old systems, and likes taking on the odd complex problems that pop up in old plumbing and heating systems in the basements of Boston. He puts a lot of thought into crafting new high efficiency heating systems too, and likes to save energy in the long run by putting in nessisary effort upfront to reduce heat loss.

I flew in from Seattle to find 2 toilets at my dad's house clogged. I assumed it was related to septic system not being pumped in years. Matt went out of his way on a Saturday to find me someone who served Scituate (he didn't). He helped me troubleshoot the real problem and do some prevention. Thank you!

Roto-Rooter provided terrible service. We will not be hiring them, again. We called on a Friday about a leaking shower faucet. They offered us an appointment between 12 and 4 on Sunday. At 4 on Sunday we called back to see why they hadn't come yet, only to be told our appointment was for Monday (it wasn't). After arguing a bit, they admitted the appointment had been booked in error for Sunday and said they would send someone over.An hour later a plumber named Charles comes, having been told the wrong info about the job. But he looks at the shower anyway and says it needs a new valve. He says that it's a big job and it will be expensive to fix, around $700. And he doesn't have the part, even though we told them what the model was on the phone. He says we can save some money by going and buying the part ourselves to avoid the 200% upcharge they have on parts, then he can come back tomorrow and install it. He said he still needs to charge us $79 for the day, but it would count as a credit to the next day's bill. So we do that, buying the part ourselves for $100.The next day they call and say that Charles is unavailable and they're sending someone else over. A new plumber, Jim, comes over also not knowing anything about the job he's supposed to do. He looks at the part we bought and tells us it's the wrong part for our shower. He also can't figure out how to remove the fixture, repeatedly saying that he's never seen a shower like this in his 40 years on the job, despite it being a major brand (Delta). We have to remove the knob for him and he still proceeds to break it anyway. Then he goes off to buy the right part and a new shower knob to replace the one he broke.Once he gets back he literally pops out valve out and slides the new valve in, fiddles with the settings for maybe 15 minutes, and declares it done. Except he installed the knob upside down. After we make him fix it properly he gives us the bill. $535 to swap the valves, $200 to go get the part (which he then knocks off as a discount), and $160 for the parts. He refuses to honor the $79 we already paid, citing the $200 discount. We say fine and ask him about the part he used, thinking we can just do it ourselves the next time it acts up and save ourselves the hassle. The kicker is, after we pay him and he leaves, I look at the part we bought again and see that it's the exact same part he used. The one he said wasn't right. And after he leaves we have to take the whole thing apart again to fix the hot water settings, anyway, since he set the limiter too low. I wish we had just done it ourselves from the start and saved the $700.Update: In response to this review, Roto-Rooter refunded the $79 visit fee and half ($50) of what I paid for the unused part I bought. I gave them another star for following up.

A few years ago my tankless water heater stopped working on a Saturday morning...
I called my regular plumber but they were not able to help me. I got a long list of plumbers and started calling them one by one. Nobody was answering or returning my calls!
I went down my long list of plumbers and eventually called High Quality Plumbing who answered the phone and was willing to come to my house that day.
They mitigated the issue but let me know the water heater would need replacing. I did not have any warranty papers but they contacted the water heater company and convinced them to replace the water heater for free!!!
I was charged a very reasonable price for the new installation. The new water heater has been working fine since then :-)

I was lucky enough to stumble across Morisset Plumbing & Heating a couple of years back after dealing with recurrent issues with our old heating system. Tony has been such a life saver in that time. He has repaired portions of our heating system, replaced old and rusted pipes, replaced a toilet, faucet and the likes. Tony is reliably communicative, professional, on time (will call or text to let you know if he happens to be running late which I ALWAYS appreciate), thorough and extremely patient. He answers all of my questions in terms I actually understand (my plumbing and heating knowledge is extremely limited). My 2.5 year old son excitedly asks for Tony on the days he’s planning to do some work on the house and will talk about him for the following days. I can’t recommend Tony enough!
