I'm sure they do way more than we've used them for, but we've used these guys for what I marked above. Couple things to recommend them: they're on time (amazing), they are always very careful about billing (thanks!) and they do excellent work (whoo hoo!). They seem to be a lot of fun as well.

Awesome service - best find in the plumbing department! Very courteous, genuinely concerned (at first said they couldn't help me because they were too busy, but offered lost of free advice at to what the problem was and advised me that the quote I'd got from another bigger company was much higher than they normally would charge. I insisted on waiting until they were free to do the job (despite endurign lack of hot water), and they came two days later, the problem was fixed in under an hour! Very rare find - competent honest and reliable. Would go back to them anytime I have a problem .

Our technician, Peter K., showed up on time, got right to work diagnosing our heating issue, and took ample time to discuss every possible option for servicing the heating equipment in my home, from repairing our old furnaces to replacing the entire heating system. He answered all of our questions clearly and listened carefully to our concerns.

True Blue was recommended to me through my community blog. He amazed me immediately as he returning my first call to him within about 30 minutes. Listened very carefully to my concerns and immediately scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He called to let me know he would be at my home in 10 minutes.

He is extremely knowledgeable about steam boilers and intimately knew my 40 years steam boiler and it curious oddities. With an hour's work by he and his associate he brought me up to speed on the workings and possible issues with my 40 year old boiler.

Together Steven as Coleman his associate renovated and restored my boiler to tip top condition for its age. Instead of my having to purchase a brand new boiler for about $7,000.00 his visit and advise cost me $250 for two men working on revitalizing my 40 years old boiler to best possible condition for the coming window season.

Have not written any reviews before but am startled by the negative portrayal of longterm Plumbing and Heating Cambridge firm. I have used other plumbers for emergency and installation jobs and liked them. When it came time to replace our fifty year old furnace we started in researching in spring and chose Barrell. Other plumbers have uniformaly admired their choice of furnace and the workmanship. I would say the reception and scheduling is old school and if you kitchen floor has less than two inches of water ,even charming. No phone tree is a plus to me. That said I think their focus is on contract work. They more than lived up to the job and given our funky house it posed challenges. Crew was professional and they pointed out rebates and helped complete them. They were stellar for the job we needed them for.

Only reason I did not give them five is I don't like to gush and they are as New Englanders, not likely to want me to. Note:. They are closed on weekends, not a problem for me but it is a tip off for their focus.
