On original service call, all exterior spigots were replaced to prevent winter freeze-ups. Installed new shutoffs on water lines. That was in June 2021. It was a pricey job, but necessary, and I was satisfied. Now, most importantly, thinking we had a working relationship with Plumbing Solutions, we called them back for another job, a leaking shower. They responded very quickly. Artie K arrived the next day, looked at the faucet, then took out his computer to estimate the job. The computer said $695. This is a 3 year old Delta faucet, so I called the factory directly. I was assured that there was a simple fix for this common problem. Delta even sent me the parts for FREE to fix it. I was told that even a homeowner could do the repair and that there were YouTube videos showing and explaining the repair in detail. Naturally, for his quoted price, I didn't allow Artie K to touch the faucet. I called his office and requested a call back from Matt the boss to explain how the computer could come up with such a high price. Why the big discrepancy? I did not receive the courtesy of a call back or explanation. I then hired another plumber for a fraction of the price I was quoted by Plumbing Solutions. THE MORAL OF THIS STORY:
Get a quote up front before allowing THEM to do any repairs.

Petros rebuilt 13 shutoff valves in my condo and installed a new kitchen faucet. He was clean, very quick, and knowledgeable. He loves his job and wants to do quality work. I appreciate that he explained to me what he was doing as he was doing it, and all his work made sense to me.

In contrast, I contacted 3 other plumbers - all of them were more expensive by varying degrees and estimated that the repairs would take all day. A few of them suggested repairs that were questionable.

It Friday around 5 pm that I noticed that water was gushing from my furnace's release outlet. I called around to 4 other services and no one would take on a new customer or had anyone on call. When I called Brendan from Readville Plumbing & Heating, all he said was, How can I help? He told me to take pictures of everything so he could walk me through shutting off the water intake and of course the shutting off the power to the furnace. He thought it was the release valve and expansion tank. He offered to come out that night to replace, but since it was over 60 degrees that night, I said it could wait until the morning as long as it was first thing since I was having guests that day. He said he would be there at 8 am and be done in a couple hours. He was on time and suggested other items to keep an eye on but also did the job quickly & economically. He was honest and really cared about my situation. I highly recommend using Brendan for all your plumbing and heating needs!!.

Big Blue has consistently provided excellent service. They replaced my antique plumbing in my basement 18 months ago, and more recently replaced my boiler and water tank. It's an old house, and Kevin was able to alert me to the scope of the surprises that I could expect. He provided a detailed quote outlining options based on what we might encounter in a timely manner. There were still a few curve balls on the job – I didn't have the chimney inspected in advance like they recommended – but they handled them efficiently and went the extra mile to make it as smooth as possible for me. They even coordinated relining the chimney with no extra hassle. The onsite crew was respectful and did a great job of keeping me in the loop. At all times I felt like I had the information I needed to decide on options that felt like the right mix of quality and price.
