Best Plumbing Leak Detection in Washington DC

We contacted #1 DMV plumbing because the tub spout in our primary bathroom came off. This was on Nov 17. A plumber named DJ responded to our call and came out a day and a half later. He came out twice over the next few days — never arriving on time and never with the tools he needed to fix the job. He told us he'd be back on Nov 19 — a Saturday — to complete the job. We stayed home all day and he never showed up, never answered his phone, never responded to texts. When I finally got ahold of him on Sunday, his response was (direct quote): My apologies my phone was shut down yesterday. Three days later he came again (reminder: this is all to replace a broken spout), but he had bought the wrong spout. He said he'd be back the next morning at 9am, which is was Thanksgiving morning. You sure? I asked him. Three times he shook my hand and said, No problem at all, this should only take a few minutes. I'll be there. Well, on Thursday morning, he never showed up. I called him. I texted him. No response. We pushed back our plans to drive to Pennsylvania to wait for him to arrive. Nothing. To date, he's never returned our calls or texts, has never fixed the problem, and still has our original spout. Just ghosted us — and wasted a ton of our time. On top of this, it's been 12 days since we've had a working shower. I understand that things come up or schedules change; basic communication and courtesy can go a long way, but we didn't experience either of these. Steer clear of #1 DMV Plumbing. These guys are not professional or dependable.

(To make this a little more clear, we contacted #1 DMV Plumbing 12 days ago. In the attached photo, you can see the current state of our tub/shower. And we haven't heard a word from them in five days. Needless to say, we have a real plumber coming in the morning.)

Super nice guy! Had low water pressure at the outside hose spigot. Turns out the valve inside wasn’t open (doh on my end!). Took the time to walk me through some of the pipping routing and details as we just moved in and the house is close to 100 years old. Super helpful and great to converse with. I’m always nervous finding good contractors but happy to find a great local plumber for future needs!

Talented, skilled, and honest plumber! Contacted this business, the business owner came out the next day and not only fixed our pressure valve but insisted that it did not need to be replaced as other plumbers had requested. Incredibly polite and professional, and willing to install a showerhead that I had not requested initially. The showerhead installation ended up being much more complicated than initially determined and they did not request or charge any more than the estimate, in fact they refused it when we insisted that the charge was too low. Great job, amazing service and honest to a fault. Highly recommend, Talented and skilled plumber

The techs were great, - polite efficient and helpful on their initial visit but my problem is with the office. It took 2 weeks to get a fairly simple proposal for some additional work and then multiple calls and email to clarify an item. I never did get an answer or return call and the person answering the phone made me feel like an inconvenience. I ultimately called another company, received an estimate in 48 hours, scheduled the work and satisfied with the results and the better price.

You are blessed and highly favored if you encounter this true master plumber. I have yet to find something on my 100+ year old house’s plumbing that he could not fix.

Transparency in upfront cost was lacking. I took a loss for having someone come buy and work was not done. To snake a toilet should not cost 500. 00 dollars . And was still charged to have plumber come to house.
