Note: I do not leave bad reviews until first trying to connect with the business to resolve the problem. I did that in this situation and was told that he didn't care what I did and that he would not work with me, so I felt compelled to tell the story.
MK Plumbing was assigned to me through my home warranty company (which is a total train wreck, but that's a story for another day) for a massive leak in my garage. The technician said he needed to cut a hole in the garage ceiling to see what was going on and that it would be an additional $80 on top of the $45 service call. I agreed, because what choice did I have?
The technician cut the ceiling into crumbling pieces of drywall to then tell me, There's no plumbing there, so I don't know what's going on. So i'm like....Uh...ok...so what do I do? We're standing in a pool of water five feet in diameter at this point. Uh, I don't know. I guess just wait. I don't know what to do.
WHAT?
He leaves. Lest you forget, there is still a massive hole in my garage ceiling with water dripping out. So. Mold, ruined ceiling, no diagnosis, $125 gone.
I call another plumber to come in the next week and they diagnose the problem as a leak coming from the kitchen refrigerator in 20 minutes.
I call MK to calmly discuss why I paid $125 for a service that was NOT performed AND a ruined ceiling that will cost me more to fix. The owner, Mohammed, gave the following ridiculous statements:
Well, the tech DID do his job. (By not finding the problem and having no idea what was going on?)
Well, you should have called me and had me come out. (Um, I did call you. Your company was assigned to me. Why on earth would I call back the same company who was incompetent the first time to come back??)
I can't refund you. (But you can. You could work with me to refund me for even part of what I spent since not only did you not do your job, you ruined my garage.
As I said, I tried to call and work with this man, but I had to spend an additional $200 to actually get the problem fixed. Additionally, I called my warranty company between the two plumbers, and reported the problem not being fixed, and they said MK would call me to discuss. They never did.
This is fraud. A service was paid for that wasn't performed. I only wish I had been smart enough to pay by credit card to dispute the charge from these crooks. Beware.
On another note, I'd be happy to come into your home and tell you that you have a plumbing problem but that I don't know how to fix it for less than $125, so please put me on your speed dial.
Disgusting way to do business.
