Eric was AMAZING. I've been having problems with the water pressure in my home for a while, and all the other plumbers that has came out here was all WRONG on what was wrong with the pressure. Eric found the problem immediately and fixed it! I was so happy because I could now run my washer and take a shower at the same time! We have used Mr. Dodd for over 30 years because we can always rely on excellent service. He has completed several HVAC jobs for us during that time. When you call James Dodd Heating Cooling and Plumbing, the phone is answered by his wife Carolyn. With her pleasant manner, she does a thorough job getting detailed information about the HVAC problem. When Mr. Dodd arrives, he has a base of information to assess the problem. He then prepares a detailed work order including the material needed to complete the job, the amount of time to complete the job, and the cost.

Over the years, Mr. Dodd has replaced an entire HVAC system in an older house we owned, completed a tune-up on an existing system (several times), replaced just a part of an HVAC system rather than the whole system, and this week, replaced a gas hot water heater for our home.

Several years ago, Mr. Dodd hired his grandson as an assistant. The two work as a great team. So, when you call Dodd Heating Cooling and Plumbing, the same team arrives to do the job every time.

Our latest plumbing problem had the team arrive, check the type of water heater needed, and locate where the water heater was in the house. The Dodd team was back in a short period of time. They removed the old water heater, installed the new water heater, and hauled the old water heater away. From start to finish, the job was completed in a timely fashion.

When Mr. Dodd left to purchase a new water heater, he could have easily stopped at a nearby Big Box store. Instead, he went to a wholesaler and purchased a higher quality water heater at a much lower price.

The sales tech that came out was short with us when discussing options for repairs and tried to upsell us on services we did not need. He quoted upwards of $33,000 worth of needed repairs. He told us we needed a new fan and they charged us $2,500. We interviewed 5 other companies after American Mechanical sent their tech out to us and every single one of them told us we spent too much money on the fan. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere.

We have used Blessings Plumbing in Virginia Beach several times in the past 5 years or so.
First time was a foundation shift under our home resulted in broken / bent sewer lines needing to be repositioned and strengthened. Also had to rebuild the adjacent toilet flange arrangement, due to that foundation shift. It has worked perfectly since then.
Then, we moved our (tank) water heater from the kitchen to a tankless water heater in the attic. HVAC guys had run too light of a gas line when they moved the furnace to the attic. The Blessings plumber immediately recognized that problem and corrected the line to the proper diameter to allow for the greater flow need for both those appliances in the attic. Their installation was very neat and clean. I love having an endless hot water shower!
Most recently, my parent's condo had a toilet backup multiple times over the course of a few months. Each time I called them, they were there as quickly as needed. Even on a FRIDAY NIGHT! My father is in in-home hospice right now, and having his toilet functional is critical to him being able to stay out of hospitals or nursing homes. It was unusual for a toilet to clog these few times in such a short period. The first time, I was able to clear it myself. The next two time required their professional touch. Each time they had to remove the toilet from the floor to snake the drain, they reinstalled and cleaned up after the work completed; it looked as if they hadn't even been there. The problem was eventually traced to the sewer line beyond their building, with at least 3 separate breaks / shifts in that line, which was catching the stuff being flushed and causing a back up. They had the right equipment. A 100 foot plus drain snake, and a 100 foot plus camera to find and mark the trouble spots on the surface. When the utilities were dug up, their marks on the surface were directly over the sewer line faults, that were at least 4 FEET BELOW the ground!
Could you find a plumber for a cheaper price? Yes. Would you have the confidence in knowing it is fixed correctly? Probably not. Each service call with Blessings Plumbing has absolutely been worth the price. They are professional. They know what they are doing. AND, they do it right.
I am impressed with Craig Blessing and all his crews that have taken care of me and my family over the years. (They are who I call to take care of my own parents.) I recommend them every time one of my friends ask about plumbers.
I WILL use them for my future plumbing needs.
