Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

A Roto-Rooter Norfolk plumber guy named Justin Blair came out to my place first thing in the morning to help me with a leaking pipe. The guy was 10 minutes early and ready to work immediately. I was particularly impressed with his bearing and his very pleasing personality. He was obviously skilled in his trade and was able to fix me up within a short 25 minutes. I was absolutely satisfied with his service and his competence. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be calling Roto-Rooter in the future and I will be asking for Justin Blair to remedy my plumbing problems.Bravo to Roto-Rooter for having someone as good as Blair on your payroll. This guy is a keeper and Roto-Rooter should do everything in its power to insure that he stays the course with them because good help is hard to find and Jason Blair is a gem.Robert Donnelly

The tech was thorough and persistent. Took him a couple hours to clear the drain, but it was a stubborn blockage very deep in the line. Appreciated his patience and striving forward to get the job done.

Was told on the phone the tech comes over, takes a look at the job, then provides a quote. They will proceed with the work if you are comfortable with the quote. The tech came over and went straight to installing the garbage disposal with no quote, then the bill was almost 400.00....Lines charges 180.00...wouldn't have accepted the service if they would have quoted me that first like they said. I had problem with a clogged kitchen sink, aggravated by some ice build-up in the drain pipe due to a recent cold snap. The plumber took time to explain both the problem and future recommendations, and I especially appreciated the extra time and effort he had to take in breaking up the ice and clear the clog.

The plumber and camera men did their job well, however, Corey H, the plumber told me in his words “no disrespect but you look good” shortly after I greeted him in my front yard and started walking away. There was another instance when I walked up to my house and I could see his reflection through the glass front door and I noticed that he stopped pulling stuff out of his van, turned to my direction and just starred at my turned back as I was standing there a few seconds to unlock the door. I would have let this pass if he didn’t make that comment earlier and if he didn’t stop what he was doing to watch me for longer than a second. I was wearing black leggings so I am under the impression that his comment and his stares were directed at that. There was another instance when he spotted me running back into the house (I was running for a reason not related to my plumbing situation) and later on, he told me “I thought you were running to see me, I was feeling special”. This could have been a playful joke but again, the incidents earlier made me uncomfortable with this comment and it is not acceptable for someone to talk to their client in this way anyway. I ended up trying to avoid running into him if I could until the job was done. Roto Rooter as a company is dependable and good at their job but I do not feel comfortable sticking with them anymore because I do not want this plumber at my house again.

They were very cordial. They arrived on time. And the work was completed in less than an hour. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber. Ali was very helpful do any questions I might have had and very professional and getting the job done.

We had a huge backup in the Townhouse we just moved into, water overflowing into the laundry room and everything.... It was a mess!! Thankfully the guys over at Roto Rooter Norfolk are still working during this dangerous and stressful time. Kriston #4449 was our Specialist and he was super friendly, and very helpful. After calling the landlord for authorization, he got right to work. Fixed our problem in about 30 minutes, turns out roots had grown into the line! And when he was finished he even put a not in the account to let our landlord know it was though no fault of ours that the line became backed up. If I could give him 10 stars I would. We were very pleased with our technician Shawn and the guy who he was training. I don't think I ever had any service people ever come to my house as friendly as these two guys. By the time they left, it felt like they were family. I also watched as the technician was training and I was very impressed at how detailed he was in explaining what was going on to his trainee. We had prompt same day service when we called with gurgling pipes, Shawn did a great job and really helped us get things figured out. Would recommend this company and this service.

As new home owners, we had an emergency plumbing issue with toilet water baking up into a shower. We called Roto-Rooter and they arrived promptly (about 40 mins) and cleared up the issue quickly for a fair price. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

After hours emergency. I have a one bathroom apartment and the toilet stopped flushing! A plumber arrived less than 80 minutes from my initial call. He was able to get the toilet working and told me what I should tell my landlord for a permanent resolution. He also let me know if a coupon online. I would recommend this service, especially when the issue can’t wait till normal hours.

William of Roto-Rooter is the man! He battled our home's old, awkward cast-iron plumbing nightmare for an more than an hour and got our system working beautifully. The previous jabroni company we called didn't even attempt to unclog our sewage line and just recommended a full jet-out of the system on Monday. Unacceptable. Shoty work. He tried to fix my sink faucet and made it worst. Before he tried to fix it, it was operable. Now I can not even use it. Also the work he did in my downstairs bathroom is actually comming unscrewed. it cost me over $300. I will not call them again.

We had our water heater go up. Monty came out to look it over, was very helpful. Even gave me his direct number to schedule the install directly through him. Personal ownership of the issue and the fix is one of the many reasons to return to these guys.

The technician Dave #5131 came the same day after we called in the evening. Even though it was late at night and still took his time to identity options and without having a clean out area, cleared the drain. He even made a suggestion on future options to add a clean out which we will do with him and Roto-Rooter! He was professional and diligent. Great service!

We just purchased a home with an electric water heater and have 0 experience in plumbing. Set up an appointment last night, got a call this morning telling us they had a cancelation and a plumber was 30 minutes out (score!!). William (tech #3066 I’m giving him full credit cuz he was a life saver!!) came out, looked at the issue, fixed it in less than an hour and got us hot water! He showed us everything we needed and gave us some much needed tips. For new home owners, he’s a much needed asset. Defiantly calling William in the future for all our issues. 100/10 service!

Took a little while for them to come out, but once they were here the work went quickly. I was originally quoted a price for snaking the drain; however, the technician found the issue wasn’t as serious. The price was adjusted to reflect that. They were the only company out of the 6 I called that actually had 24 hour service, instead of telling me I had to wait until the office was open. Having Crohns disease, I don't have time to wait for hours for someone to contact me, only to have to wait longer until the technician can get there. Garnet showed up and got right to work. He was very friendly, very professional, and got the clog out of the main line as needed. Reinaldo did a phenomenal job. He was friendly and knowledgeable. I called for a clog that seemed simple but found out it needed a lot more done. He pulled out our toilet found the source of the problem and removed it. He cleaned everything and made sure it all worked before leaving. Highly recommend.

Called at 9am on Friday morning to get someone out to my house for an estimate, was surprised when she told me she could have someone there by 11am. Mike showed up on time and gave me a very affordable estimate and when I asked when could he do the job he said right now! Will never use Roto-Rooter again! The technician was extremely rude, wouldn't actually look at our hot water heater at all after being told twice over the phone that they would diagnose the problem for free. He wouldn't touch the water heater whatsoever and demanded over 200 dollar upfront just to touch the water heater after being over 2 hours late. Branch Manager Brian called me and instead of trying to keep a customer, explained away his technician's rudeness and said there was an internal problem at the call center and they shouldn't be telling us the tech would diagnose for free. Very unsatisfied.

My experience with this company was phenomenal. From the time that I placed the call to upon the technician arriving was so speedy!. I had an emergency with my hot water heater and they were on it!. I had an emergency and called them at 7:30 pm and they sent a guy out that same evening. Unfortunately he couldn't fix the problem so they sent another person the very next day. They were able to fix the issue and let me know the route cause. Only complaint was while they did clean up after themselves, the first guy didn't really clean up that well so Istill have stuff over my walls and floor from his machine that I'll have to do a deep scrub to get everything but otherwise it was a great service. Second time using Roto-Rooter for a last minute repair. They came out quickly and the technicians are always professional and efficient. Ali did a great job. He came and fixed the clog. Cleaned up after he was done and was done with like 30 mins.

On Sunday morning we woke up to a burst pipe under our house. I called Roto-Rooter right away and they had someone on their way for our free estimate within an hour. The technician was very pleasant and had the problem assessed quickly with a reasonable quote, and had the issued resolved within a few hours of the first call. Not only was I happy to be able to find someone to come to the house on a Sunday, but so quickly and with a reasonable price, was amazing. We will for sure use them again.

My water/sewage bill was over $1,000.00 and was told by my current plumber to have leak finders, find the leak before they could repair. Leak finders could not for over a week. RotoRooter responded right away, believed the 40yr old toilet was the problem. Replaced the same day, I feel confident they solved the problem. Wayne Warren and his assistant were through, professional. They also replaced the handle on a 2nd toilet that was duck taped. Any future plumbing problems, I’ll be calling Wayne!!!

The response was fast for someone to come out and take a look at my issue, the man was friendly he worked quickly...however i don't feel he did a thorough investigation on what the issue was with my pipes/plumbing situation...my toilet handle was down (because it sticks) for 30 minutes and I get water in multiple areas of my home!? The only thing he didn't was snake my toilet to clear a blockage the repair the handle and another thing ( to allow the water to fill up in the toilet bowl). I just don't feel like in the 20-25 minutes he was there I never got a clear reason or understanding on what, why, and how this happened...a sticky toilet handle couldn't have been the only culprit. I would still recommend the company for small issues...

The staff is really nice, but the prices are really expensive. I needed a new pump in the back of my toilet and they sell them for $30 at the store, but I ended up paying $650 for two of my toilets to get that done and that was with a military discount and 30% off for the second toilet. I would recommend finding a cheaper company. Nothing was outstanding about the service

I had my exterior pipe replaced to the city connection. After the job was done the landscaping was not completed at the time and I was told that company would send someone out at a later date to do it. Yesterday, a month after the piping job and after a couple of rains, they actually showed up. What a surprise and a delight. Justin came out to my home was early and on time. He was committed and dedicated to getting the problem fixed and getting the job done. He made multiple attempts to get my drain cleaned, going into different pipes and using different snakes and augers and actually having to go on top of my roof on a ladder and having to carry that heavy device with him. Justin found discounts that he could use for the job and informed me of the 6 month warranty for the service as well.

Called Roto-Rooter Norfolk at 8 AM and within 10 mins had a phone call telling me the plumber would be at my home between 10 and 10:30 and he was here around 10:20. His name was Alonzo and he was polite, informative, knowledgeable, and hard working. He cleared our clog and explained what he had done. We had a clog and they came out within a few hours. Very prompt and fixed the issue quickly.

The very expensive fee for a 10 minute drain clean-out was a little hard to accept, but it was a Sunday night and we needed to use water and toilets.We inquired about water restoration and was told we would be contacted the next morning, then after 3 calls someone finally showed up. We went through the process discussion and agreed to choose them. We were then given the runaround on timelines; they were going to show up today, then tomorrow, then the next day...etc. The process was slow and they were inconsistent. There were moments where I feel they were responsive/available and then others where they weren’t...usually when they were trying to get my business and then when it was time to approve the job so they could get paid. Antonio (the technician) was probably the most consistent and helpful. I also believe that they are understaffed and they overpromise and struggle to deliver.

I own an older house and our main sewer line is terracotta, so root growth is a constant problem. I've called other plumbers in the area to snake out the sewer line and they've been mostly OK - you get what you pay for. This is the 2nd time I've called Roto Rooter to come clean out our sewer line and they did a great job.This time around, I had called a discount company that only carried a 100ft auger, which was not long enough for our main line. Fortunately, the Roto Rooter technician has a 150ft auger that could be extended further if needed. Their price was a bit higher than the discount guys, but I'd rather pay for the job to be done correctly the first time.The technician was also extremely knowledgeable, and gave me loads of insight into my options for dealing with the root problem. I'll never call anyone else for my future plumbing needs.

Got a call from a tenant with a clogged main sewer line on Friday night - water backing up into toilet, sink and bathroom floor! Called Roto-Rooter and they came out first thing Saturday morning and took care of the problem. Service technician was very professional, informative, thorough and friendly. Not only did he unclog the drain, but he ran a camera thru the drain, showed me the problem, ran his snake through several times, then showed me the results. I highly recommend their services.

Had assessment of sewer lines by Peter Walz on 7/9/20. He was pleasant & recommended other work to be done. After speaking with his colleague, Joe, tech #2181, the work was scheduled for 7/10. Friday night our toilet back-up into bathtub and I was unable to clear it, so I put a call in to the always reliable Roto-Rooter Plumbing in Norfolk, VA. Over the years I have used them several times and they are always quick to show up and deal with the problem no matter what time of the day or night. After placing the first call for service, we received follow-up calls with updates as to when the truck would arrive. The plumber, Robert, arrived on-time and was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to snake out the problem from the clean out pipe and was finished with the job in just under an hour. The cost was a tad pricey, $295, but I had a $40 coupon from Angie's List, which knocked it down to $255. Whenever I have a plumbing issue, Roto-Rooter will be my first choice.

I was originally displeased with the company, after addressing the issue with management my issues were addressed. I can honestly say this company does care about customer service. Reaction time was really quick.

We only have one toilet in the house and it was early in the morning and the toilet was clogged - we (my daughter and wife) were desperate to have it fixed ASAP. I called Root Rooter and Mr. James McMillan was dispatched within an hour to help. James got to work immediately and within an hour I had a fully functional toilet! With his experience in the business he knew exactly what the cause of the stoppage was and gave us advice on how to prevent the issue in the future. Ooh my goodness!! We are beyond satisfied with Roto-Rooter's promptness, professionalism, expertise, hours (24 hours, no after hour fees) and work results. We stumbled upon them by way of Google. We contacted 2 alternate agencies, and they were unable to send anyone out for 5 to 7 days. Roto-Rooter was contacted and the pleasant staff advised they could have a technician out within a few hours...THE SAME NIGHT of the call!! Technician arrived at 10:oopm and worked diligently past midnight trying to determine the problem. He even reached out to a counterpart; which also came to the home to troubleshoot. I must insert...if they cannot fix the problem, it is my understanding that you are not invoiced, not even a service fee! Technicians determined the issue and promptly returned back the following day to complete the work. One was Russell and other was Mike. They were soo personable and patient as this was a warranty claim; which requires contact is made prior to completion. They provided the warranty company the required information and work was completed timely. They even took the time to answer a few additional questions that we had not related to this service call. They exuded nothing but excellence! I have placed them as a contact in my phone and they will for sure be our number 1 contact in the future!! We 110% recommend this company!!!

Excellent service by Plumber in Norfolk. I attempted to install a utility sink and it went south. I almost flooded my garage, but eventually turned off the water. My wife called the Roto-Rooter about 10:15 pm on Saturday and they were here in just 15 minutes. Bryan (1728) was very knowledgeable and very polite. He took care of my clogged drain and explained everything he was doing. I wanted a camera put through my drain as I have been having repeated clogs even after having new sewage pipes put in (by different company) and he set that up so I would get the call for the appointment and have the camera run through. Highly recommend them.

Manny & Peter were hard workers, communicative with me and each other, enjoyed their work. They were compassionate and worked quickly to get everything done. Very professional. Filed on line, Rotor-Rooter were prompt in responding, agreed to show up at a certain time, were there on time.Trouble shooted the problem, did a clean out of drain.Put it all back together in about 1 hour and cleaned up any debris. Was very pleased with their work.

The over night guy was unable to unclog the sewer line between the house and the road. He tried really hard and he had some equipment failure, but he also removed the toilet which turned out to be unnecessarily and increased the cost of the job. Reinaldo came the next day and he was fantastic. He found the outdoor access in 10 minutes by popping his head into the crawl space access with a flashlight. He estimated the location outside the crawlspace and dug it up. It was under 1' soil and he had to break off the cap which was completely sealed shut, but he got it done and fixed it when he was finished. It was a really tough clog so it took a while, but he stayed until everything was right. I couldn't possibly ask for better service than he provided. His exceptional work guarantees my loyalty as a customer in the future.

My technician was prompt, courteous, and involved me in all of the steps as he completed the clearing of my main drain line that connects to the city drain. When we found that there were a TON (and I mean about a baseball sized wad) of roots wrapped around the drain snake, he immediately suggested getting the camera technician out to look at the drain to determine how and where it may be damaged. I scheduled my service online last (Monday) night and had a tech at my house at 8pm on Tuesday. Wonderful, polite service! Thanks for a great experience!!!

Used fans to dry out the place. I do not want this to be public. Why? Because your staff was not integral nor did your leaders provide good customer service. The only way I found out what was happening was to call Janice, the lady who I contracted with and trusted. She was the only one that represented your company well! Therefore, I will never recommend Roto -Rooter.

Our home had a back up from too much food being put into the garbage disposal. My toilet overflowed. I tried snaking the main line myself for 2 hours and couldn’t get unclogged. I called Roto-Rooter and they had Travis at the house in an hour. He made some observations inside and outside the house then quoted a price. I also took advantage of the coupon that was on the website. An hour and half later he had the pipe unclogged. Travis was professional and courteous as well as helpful. He assisted with some of the clean up at the end. I will definitely save myself the hassle and just call Roto-Rooter next time. I am very satisfied with the service they performed today.

Had an emergency garbage disposal/sink clog on a Sunday and Roto-Rooter was there in about 2.5 hours. Terrance was knowledgable, helpful, and efficient. He gave us quality advice on future plumbing fixes and left our drain working better than before. This was our first time using this company, and I was impressed with their professionalism and pricing.

I've used a few other companies in the area but these guys always have readily available techs and plumbers out within a few hours after my call. I had the pleasure of James McMillan come out most recent and after a decent quote I had him get started right away, part way through the job he realized it was not going to be as much work and informed me of the dropped price and why. Garnet (#1873) was professional, friendly, and seemed determined to resolve the issue. He was here even before the time I was told he would be here. He took the time to listen to me and answer my questions. He was the second tech to come to my house that day. The first one (Mike?) seemed to thoroughly investigate what the main problem was. He told me the toilet needed to be removed and the main drain needed to be unclogged. But he said he wouldn't be able to do it, and that another tech would have to come out. I didn't question why because I don't know how the company works. Anyway, I was told the next tech would be out in about 45 minutes. But he, Garnet, was out there in no time. Problem seems to be resolved now, thanks to Garnet's persistence and hard work, which was what I needed. Apparently the underlying problem is roots which will be the next issue I have to deal with. I'm living on Social Security only. As many other people these days, I just don't have the money to deal with issues like these. I hope that Garnet's diligence, hard work, and determination will prevent more costly repairs (that I just can't afford) in the future. But I realize that issues like old drainage pipes damaged by roots may not be easily, or cheaply, resolved. But I feel Garnet did everything he could to resolve it.

Terry came today and was pleasant, helpful, and supremely professional as always--you all are lucky to have him. But I want to mention that the day my hot water valve busted, the plumber who was dispatched here and I discussed the cold water faucet valve and if it needed to be replaced. He said he didn't think so. As it turns out, it was leaking all along, and was replaced today. (Earlier this month) Many thanks to Kyle and the R-R plumber for quick response (AND the NN Fire Department, too--they were awesome), plus Carron, Christina, and Shy Guy for all their help with the water damage issues. We've got two remaining issues left that the contractor pointed out, so I look forward to meeting with you all again this Friday to sort that out.

2 mouths ago I called for plumbing issues after about 3 or 4 hour wait the guy show up snake my toilet left i had to call bk because it started backing up in my tubs after I paid 500 for him to snake my toilet now today same problem and to be told that the works not guaranteed i still needed to have it checked and was not told that so what I pay 500 for..im very disappointed and out of 500 bucks for nothing should have went through my insurance but I needed service right then lesson learned never again

Will did a quick repair on toilet after going to Lowe's for the part. He tried 3 different stores to try to find what he needed to repair my sink faucet. There is only a Lowe's in this end of Suffolk so traveled a long ways to get that part. It did not fit but he was able to increase pressure in the faucet.

I had a clog and they came out and did a quote. They were late but that was ok because I was home all day. They quoted me 700 to take care of the clog. I declined. They said it would take hours. I asked for referrals on Facebook and was referred to Norfolk plumbing. They charge 170 an hour. They fixed it in a half hour. Maybe less. They were amazing. Im off to write them a good review. I feel like I was scammed and I truly don't understand these reviews.

Called Roto-Rooter of Norfolk and they mentioned they could come right away. The plumber, Robert, arrived in a timely fashion and was very pleasant. He took his time and made sure everything was done correctly and explained anything that I had a question about. He made sure everything was working properly before he left and I was very happy. Called roto-rooter to clean out utility drain that was draining slowly. The first technician came out and after several tries was unable to get through the clog. He did not have a camera with him to check to see if there was a break in the piped under the house he called to see if someon with a camera was available, but due to the lateness of the day he said that someone would be out the next morning to check the lines and see if there was a break. The next morning received a call saying the technician would be there within the hour and sure enough technicians Shawn & Andy showed up promptly.Shawn said he would try and snake the drain again before trying the camera to see if there were any breaks in the pipe. The day was already extremely hot and Shawn snaked the garage clean out first to make sure that part of the drain was clear and then he snaked the outside drain from the washing machine to the main line several times to break up the clog, he then used the camera to make sure there were no breaks in the line, and thankfully the pipes were not broken or leaking. Even in the blistering heat Shawn & Andy were very courteous and polite and took the time to explain ways to take care of old pipes and to keep them clear of clogs in the future and recommended a drain cleaner to use as a preventative.We have used Roto-Rooter in the past and have been happy with their work, but Shawn and Andy are the best technicians we've had. They are both knowledgeable and very polite and courteous with us! If we have any problems in the future we will definitely call Roto-Rooter again and I will definitely request Shawn!Thank You for your all your help!!

I had Roto-Rooter come out and replace a leaking main water line. They were very prompt and did an excellent job. They advised me on the best material to use to prevent this from happening again. Technician was very professional and was able to identify the issue quickly. High levels of debris in the line had clogged up the water flow restricter filters. $215 for peace of mind was well worth it! Got an education on how to disassemble those restricter filters to clean them.

Reinaldo F. was our plumber from Roto-Rooter in Newport News; he did a good job of evaluating our situation and fixing a leaking pipe under the house once he got to the house. Roto-Rooter was unable to send someone the day I called, but offered to come the next day. I was happy with his estimate and service.

Manny returned at our request to replace all the aging piping in the house. He and his fellow workman started on a Sunday and were gone by Tuesday. They would have finished even more quickly but for their thoughtful and time-consuming efforts to keep wall-cutting to an absolute minimum. Pricey . . . but worth it.

They came and fixed the problem. They were on time and came soon after my first call. The tech was very professional and solved all the drainage issues. The reason I gave 3 stars is because their prices are way over the top. They literally just got paid 365 dollars for an hour of service. A lawyer charges less than that and that's saying something.

After a week of being in my new home, our kitchen sink backed up. We know nothing about plumbing companies but had heard horror stories. Roto Rooter was willing to help us afford the cost and then backed their warrenty when they came out 4 days later to try again. I called at 7 PM for a clogged sewer and asked for an appointment the next morning. The technician arrived promptly at 9 AM the next day. He put a camera down the line, found the front clean-out (which was buried in the front flower bed) and quickly cleared the pipe. When he found a tree root in the line, he notified me that another individual would come to do an in-depth inspection of the line and quote the fix. That individual was here within 30 minutes. Both technicians were extremely polite and professional, showed me the issue on the video screens so I would understand the problem, and even wore booties in the house due to the rainy weather. I am extremely satisfied with my service and I will call them in the future for any of my plumbing needs.

I just bought and moved into my new house and Joe came to my rescue. It was 7pm and he'd been off since 4pm, but they refused to let calls go unanswered even if they were short staffed and behind schedule. My showers and toilets were backing up, I couldn't give my kids a shower or flush the toilets with out water over flow. Joe came in and in under 10 minutes of his arrival he my plumbing working when I'd had two plumbers before him fix the problem taking half the day to fix it. After waiting for the ice to thaw out(in which it didn't because there weren't any), I had to make the third call. Again, a different worker. He was very professional and got the job done quick. But he did NOT offer any discount for an inconvenience fee from the second worker who stopped by. I would rate the company 5/5 if it weren't for the second worker leaving the job undone.

This is the second time that I had to call them for the same issue. Clogged toilet. The first plumber just uclogged the toilet. Second plumber unclogged the toilet but made sure the drain was clear...I HOPE

Wilson showed up on time and was prepared to handle all of our weird plumbing issues. We had already spent hundreds of dollars with other companies trying to fix the problem but it was never fixed. Wilson came out and quickly figured out exactly what the root of the problem is. We were also given false reasoning from the prior plumbers that turned out to be inaccurate. Wilson took videos and used a camera in the pipes to show us exactly what the issue was and came up with two remedies for us. One was fixed immediately and now after weeks we can finally do laundry! YAY! and created a bandaid for us for our showers plumbing issues to buy us time to fix the big issue. On May 9th they came out to do a clean out on my main drain pipe. The initial service call was not all that impressive I felt like I was being over charged for the service. Unfortunately I had to call back a month later because the first clean out did not stick and it had to be done again. This time a different service technician came, Mike Wilson. He was very professional and asked questions and worked very hard to make sure that the clean out was done properly. He did things that were not done the first time around. This kind of service is what made me score 5 stars otherwise I would have done 2 stars. Thank you Mike for a job well done.

Called Rotor Rooter today about a plumbing problem. The lady on the phone (sorry, don't remember name; I'm like that). She was very pleasant and helpful. Within an hour, after a call back from the lady, a techncian showed up. William was very professional, pleasant and courteous. Once we explained the problem, he got on it, and had eliminated the problem within about thirty minutes.Was painful to pay the bill (not cheap), but very happy, as is the wife too. Now she can use the washing machine, no more necessary trips to the laundromat; sorry Myers.William is a credit to his profession. Definately will keep their number handy in case of future plumbing problems.

His associate, David, was also very nice - he had to be called in to do the service from the street (as we said needed to be done, from prior experience, but evidently the home office made Will pull the toilet out first - wasted time and effort). The plumber that came out to help us was Shawn. I am a do it yourself kind of guy and have fixed a number of problems with the plumbing myself, but when the water was coming out the cleanout and I needed a professional opinion I called roto-rooter for just that. I just wanted a pro to confirm my suspicion as to where the clog was, but I got a whole lot more. Shawn showed up on time for the appointment I made the day before... 5:30 - 6:00 and working in the service industry I know how hard it is to hit nthat window. He listened to everything I had done to narrow down where the issue of the clog was and then he did his own trobleshooting. I really appreciated him showing me what he was doing and taking his time with making sure things were understandable and was working to help me make a decision. He ended up snaking the drain with the electric snake and I was glad he did it because now I know there clear. not only did I see him do the work and had a good understanding of what was going on, but then he showed me every inch of the line with his digital plumber camera that went into the pipe. WOW...what a great job Shawn did and he educated me along the way. I have had roto-rooter do work for me on another home I owned and it seems like every one of my experiences has been a good one. Totally failed to show up first time I booked them. Showed up late the 2nd time. Wanted $289 for each faucet install! That's like $600/hour! and i'm left with a $98 call out charge when i said no thanks, I think I'll just google it...

In April Roto-Rooter repaired our toilet which was leaking around the base. The toilet was fine until August when it began to leak again. A different plumber came, made repairs and replaced some parts all at no charge. September 11th it began to leak again. A third plumber arrived and diagnosed the problem and made repairs. Micah, Tech #3636, was very personable, assured us that 3rd time's a charm and that the toilet is definitely fixed this time. We have only been charged for the original work. Roto-Rooter's warranty covered the additional service calls. We will definitely call Roto-Rooter if we have problems again -- which we probably will as our house is 100 years old. They have always arrived within the time frame given by their dispatcher, and being able to get a plumber 24/7 is a definite plus!

I set up an appt for crawlspace issue. I was stood up two days in a row with little to no feedback. The third day someone showed up and they refused to enter the crawl space due to size. The fourth day they showed up and checked the issue, charged me $200.00 and left without fixing anything. They could not even give me a price that the repair would cost! Not a very professional business.

Called for plumbing issue and the technician was very pleasant and professional (Mike #703). But after spending 1.5 hours snaking my main sewer line it resulted in (doing a load of laundry) that the same issue was still occurring (sewage backing up into my showers). Service was great but what was done obviously didn't solve my problem, especially for the price I paid. Mike did say there were one or two blockages removed, but trying to do laundry tonight, I couldn't tell. Professionalism was great but obviously the technique was lacking. I did receive a six month warranty but for the amount of money paid, I'm not sure I would or would not recommend Royo-Rooter to family or friends. Joe (2181) was extremely nice and knowledgable. Our upstairs sink and tub were backing up. Besides unclogging it, he spent the time letting me know what issues in our plumbing might lead to this yearly backup. He was very honest and straightforward. Thank you for a job well done. The $315 was a little steep, but I guess it could have been worse.

My Service Technician was Nolan. He arrived when he said he was going to, quickly took care of the problem, left the bathroom clean and answered all my questions. Couldn't have asked for better!

Roto-Rooter was great! I noticed my ceiling was leaking around 8:30 at night. I immediately turned off my water and called them. They couldn't get anyone out that evening in my area but were able to schedule a window for the next day. I was told that they technician would show up between 10 and 2 the following day and would give me a call about 45 minutes before they were to show up. After about an hour after I got off the phone with them I got a call from the water mitigation manager. He just wanted to make sure that there was no noticeable water damage. There wasn't so he said that the tech would be out tomorrow. I got a call the next day about 45 minutes before the tech showed up. Johnathan was great. He told us what was wrong and gave us the hourly fee, the flat-fee was unavailable due to the type of work we needed done and he got to work. It took about an hour and everything was fixed. I like that we were able to use a coupon from the site and also get a 6 month warranty on services. Overall the service was fast, very professional and if we ever have an emergency again we will not hesitate to call.

I called them and they were able to send someone out the same day within an hour after I called. It’s great that I was able to have that peace of mind. Vince was quick but very thorough and helped identify my problem. I’m very appreciative and would definitely use them again.

We had a main drain clog and EVERYTHING was backed up. We had already been quoted astronomical prices to fix it by two other plumbers. So we tried all we could to fix it ourselves. Once we realized we couldn't do it, I called one last company for a quote. Roto-Rooter. They told me they would give me a free estimate and wouldn't charge me a cent until I was satisfied that it was fixed. The guy came a couple of hours later on Sunday night, with no extra charge for weekends. He had a drain camera, and all the other tools necessary to get the job done in about 30 minutes. We had spent a day and a half trying to get done what he did in 30 minutes! That night we were showering and laundering our clothes in our own home and we were so happy. They were fantastic. Our kitchen faucet broke and was leaking everywhere. We couldnt use the sink or water. I called Roto Rooter and William came here the same day! December 6th, the perfect time for a clogged sewer pipe to force washing machine water to escape via the toilet onto the floor. When Technician # 3196 AKA Shawn arrived, he consoled, reassured, and patiently answered questions all while efficiently solving the problem. At no time was I concerned about # 3196 or the company he represented. His demeanor, skill and work ethic eradicated the problem that had been lurking underground for years. I do not hesitate to recommend Roto-Rootor. They are the best at what they do!

Cost was high for what was actually done, but expert and friendly service!

Charged $375 for installation of a sump pump that I had bought from Home Depot as well as a humidifier that I had already bought. Unfortunately, he did not connect a hose to the humidifier that would have drained into the well with the sump pump, and left it such that water from the dehumidifier was leaking into the basement wall and floor. I called to report this and got some push back which I was surprised by given that the reason I called Roto Rooter was to have a dry basement. Eventually he came back to connect a hose. If I had not have called, my basement would have continued to be wet.

Second time using Roto-Rooter at this house. Alonzo courteous and helpful as usual. The price was fair for the amount of work that was needed.

They did a great job unclogging my sewer line outside in 30 degree weather in the middle of the night. Great work, very professional and responded when we called the plumber who was on scene fixing the problem. Thank you for the great work restoring our plumbing.

I feel the blame here is on dispatch. I spoke to dispatch at 1:35 and he was just sending a tech from the beach area to my home then. He said I’m sending someone now but its gonna be awhile before they get there as we are at the beach. I can make it to the beach in 20 minutes from my home. After the tech arrived, he listened carefully to my issues and unclogged my kitchen sink over the next 1 1/2 hours working very diligently and tidy

I was very happy with the speedy service from Roto-Rooters! I called and within minutes I received a call that they would be in my area within 30 minutes. They fixed my clog within minutes and Shawn was very helpful with my questions.

The first man came did not have a clue as to what to do. I called again and the second tech was very knowledgeable and removed the knobs in about five minutes or less and said it was $235 but he gave me a $40 discount. I thought that was very high considering the few minutes it took him. He said he would have to remove the stems and replace them. I said okay. But he only removed the knobs to the shower and said he can come back and remove the stems for another $235.I was contacted by Ned Campbell after this review. Very nice man. He wanted to know what the problem was. I explained what's posted above. He was very concerned. He then told me if I pay for the parts he would be happy to take care of the labor. I accepted his offer. I then paid $130 for the part. I really appreciate him reaching out to me but I felt the entire second call should have been concessioned. You know we consumers can be greedy sometimes.Since Mr. Ned Campbell sincerely cares about his business I gave them another try. Again I wasn't happy with the pricing for my project and l had to contact him again and again he was very concerned and sympathetic about my issue. Mr. Campbell is definitely a man of integrity. I want get into what happened but I do want everyone to know as long as honest people like him work there I will definitely continue to use Rotor Rooter for all of my plumbing needs. His caring attitude is what will keep me coming back and because of him I would definitely rate his company five stars and will recommend them to anyone needing plumbing services. My problem was I was originally informed it would take 1 1/2 hour for arrival of the plummer. I received a call back delaying that arrival by about 30 minutes. I said OK. Approximately, 45 minutes later, i called Rotor Rooter, i was than informed the service person was delayed & would arrive within 2 to 3 hours. I demanded to speak with a Manager, who after much unpleasant conversation was able to get a plummer to my home in about 30 minutes or so. This was an UNpleasant experience, however, it was NOT the plummer's faught & I did apologize to him as I was upset. It was the fault of whoever gave me an incorrect ETA, during my initial conversation. I missed an important appointment that day & not one person apologized. Instead, they acted as if I created the problems. May I suggest that you stop lying about your ETA, Rotor Rooter dispatchers. I understand there's a wait time, but this was ridiculous.

I would like to say that this company is awesome. I love that the estimates are free and the service was on time. The staff was very professional and friendly. If we ever need any future repairs I will most definitely be calling this company. I recommend them to anyone who is in need of

Responded really fast where I was sent to voicemails for every other company. They got a plummer to my house in 2 hours and the job was completed in under 30 minutes. Downside, the job costed $270. Idk how or why but I paid it and that was with a military discount.

Work was done by Mike Brady. Very easy process for the repairs but was a bit late on arrival. My piping is fixed and the work is satisfactory. Mike was very knowledgeable and acted professionally in answering all of my questions and concerns of the repair. Great service, would recommend and call them again if needed!

This morning (7/7/14) we contacted Roto Rooter for a problem with a leaking kitchen sink. We were told someone would be out within 2 hours. Roto-Rooter contacted us shortly after and a plumber was on the way, less than 2 hours. Zack Jaber was the Service Technician and immediately found our problem. He proceeded to tell us we needed a new kitchen faucet and provided an estimate of the amount for the work. Zack and his co-worker are very professional, customer friendly, and completed the work in a timely manner. Zack has been here before and would recommend his services to anyone. Technician did not give up in the face of defeat. Said the only way to clear the clog is to replace the trap but he will try, after an hour of battling the bathtub he finally prevailed and the tub started to drain once as it never had.

Excellent service by Joshua. My home was built in 1964, meaning, old pipes. He explained how we should clear future problems and what to do to help prevent clogged drains. Good plunging and running hot water for several minutes took care of the problem. He recommend we not use the standard harsh chemicals, because it can damage the pipes and not to put leafy vegetables, rice and egg shells in the garbage disposal and of course no grease. He suggested running hot water every so often to help keep the pipes clear. He also checked the main bathroom sink, bathtub, and flushed the toilet a couple of times to make sure the issue was not just the kitchen sink. Again, excellent service. Highly recommended.

My kitchen sink has been clogged for the longest time and many plumbers have tried to fix it with little success. I've tried six different plumbers and only Alonzo Aungon from Roto-Rooter in Norfolk was able to fix it. He came in, took his time, did a great job, and clearly explained to me what the problem was and how he was going to fix it. I have a rental unit and I was out of town. All that was needed was a flapper kit installed. This is not a difficult repair but I was in a bind to have it done since I'm away for a few months. The cost to do this simple job was $360 plus parts. My wife could have done this in 1/2 of an hour. I must have been having a weak moment and approved the repair. I kick myself for being so stupid. I guarantee I will never call them again.

This is my first time using Roto Rooter, but after coming home and finding that neither of my toilets would flush, I needed to get someone out immediately. I called up, scheduled an appointment, and a lovely plumber named Joe came out. I can't say enough nice things about him. Not only was he friendly and professional, he took the time to explain what was going on and solved the problem quickly and efficiently. He quickly identified the cause of my problem, which was tree roots. He found a clean out that I didn't know existed. He took the time and did an excellent job of cleaning the line using different sized blades. I am glad I made the call. Oh and this was on a Sunday afternoon while being pleasant and upbeat. Horrible customer service. I was told someone would arrive between 230 and 430. I received a phone call at 3:30 saying they were running a little bit late. At 6:45 I still had no phone call or update. I called to see what had happened. I was told someone attempted to call me at 4:55. I told them I had no missed call and no voicemail on my phone and wanted them to check that was accurate. I was put on hold the operator came back on the phone and then told me that the plumber was just running late and she would transfer me over to the person who had tried to call me. He was extremely rude said it was my fault and that my phone probably had no service and that he personally called me at 5:05 and left a message (notice the different times I was told and how the story was changed). He said he was sending another plumber out and they would be here within an hour and it would take about two hours to fix. He was not remorseful or sorry at all. Instead tried to lay blame on me. I told him it was extremely poor customer service and that I was very frustrated at the situation as I have a one and three-year-old who need to go to bed and are now going to be kept up until 10 PM. He said that we could reschedule for a different day. However, I was told earlier in the day that a mainline issue took priority and we would be seen as soon as possible and to not use any water. This also caused me to waste my entire afternoon when I could have been out running errands. Do better. Be better.

The plumber didn't arrive until about 90 minutes after the quoted time, however he was clean, nice, and knowledgeable. He had our sink cleared out quickly and even cleaned up the mess which caused the clog in the first place (vomit!). He didn't have to do that, so bumped back up to 5 stars despite missing the appointment window. Will definitely call again.

Excellent service. I had a severely clogged sink that I was unable to unclog. I called Roto-Rooter Norfolk around 9:00 AM and got an appt for the afternoon. I got a call about 30 minutes prior to the plumber's arrival. Brad was our plumber and he was great. He was friendly and quite knowledgeable. He quickly cleared the clog and gave me good information on how to prevent the problem from happening again. I would definitely call Roto-Rooter again for plumbing problems.

We needed two sinks replaced, plus a toilet that was desperate for a rebuild. Alonzo was friendly, courteous, and very good about keeping me informed regarding the work being done. I will start by saying that my problem was fixed and done well. However, the customer service/dispatch/call center they have is atrocious. I live in an apartment and the property manager hired this company to fix my clogged drain. The first plumber inspected the shower pipe and said it would require 2 specialists and would be approx 3-4hr job and that I would need to schedule an appt as he could not do it. So I did for the following day, and took a vacation day from work. Those 'specialists' no showed. I did not receive any contact from the company. I called, was put on hold, and disconnected. I called again, spoke to another lady who apologized and asked me what day i wanted to schedule another appointment. I had already taken time off that day and demanded someone show up to fix my drain. They sent 1 random plumber, who proceeded to fix the job in 20mins. He was very professional, apologized for the mix up, and even made the comment, I don't know why the 1st guy didn't fix this. Extremely aggravating experience that cost me a vacation day for something that could have been fixed in a few minutes.

The service crew was awesome and they completed the work quicker than I expected and cleaned up behind them. I wouldn't go a day without giving them 5 stars and telling my family and friends about the services.

I was able to get an appointment within a few hours of my call. The plumbing problem was quickly resolved. The water clean up started immediately. On last day of water clean up, the technician was late showing up. I expected him between 9-10 a.m. He was not able to get to me until 7 p.m.

Garnett was great. Received our call after midnight and did the job quickly. We appreciated his professionalism. Kept everything as clean as possible.

It took almost all day for someone to come out to check our plumbing. Being told they were behind and busy. I first called around 10:30 am and no one arrived until around 11pm.However when the plumber Austin arrived he was very nice and open about what he was doing and was very friendly. He looked and sounded like he knew what he was doing and fixed the problem!

I was notified by my pest control inspector of a leak under my house and I contacted Roto-Rooter after trying to contact another company who didn’t call back. I can’t remember the name of my technician but he was quick, thorough and efficient. He located the source of the leak and made the needed repairs to get our home water tight again. Mark Smith is our water remediation specialist and he put my mind instantly at ease when he assured me the repair of the damages from the water leak would be covered under my homeowners policy and he’s currently working with me to file that claim. So far I couldn’t be more pleased with the way this company handled everything. Hopefully I’ll be able to update this as the claim goes on and repairs are made.

I had a problem with my shower water not coming on. The house was recent remodeled and the plumbers cut some corners with some valves. I called Roto-rooter and the Service was absolutely awesome. Will Smith (cool name) came out and was courteous and fixed the problem quickly. He grabbed a couple of tools and before I knew it the shower was running at full pressure He even gave me some advice about regulating water temperature for my faucet unit. I’ll definitely will requesting him specifically if I ever have any more issues.
