Trey and Michael showed up on time and did a fantastic job clearing my kitchen drain. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves.

MAKE MR. ROOTER YOUR FIRST CALL!!!
Approximately 3 days ago I arrived at my home after driving 9hrs at around 3am to find that I had a massive leak that I later learned was my supply line. Never having had to deal with this before, I obviously freaked out and got the water turned off. Later that morning after calling multiple plumbers local to the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area I had one come out from a different company (NOT MR. ROOTER) that immediately wanted to charge me $3.5k just to break up concrete and look for the leak. He did not turn the water on, or so much as shine a flashlight on the area I said water was coming from. The next company wanted me to do leak detection through a 3rd party first and then have them do the repair, the leak detection was quoted to be about $500, most other places charge much less.

This is significant because Mr. Zhane Albrecht from Mr. Rooter not only found the leak that was actually located above ground, but explained to me how the damage occurred, why it occurred and how he was going to fix it. This guy is the walking epitome of customer service and satisfaction, he wasn't pushy and you could tell he was advising on matters as if it were his own home which speaks volumes to his character as a professional that cares about people.

Rarely is it ever a good circumstance to have to call out a plumber, but through the unfortunate issue I had, I was thankful I had somebody knowledgeable and honest enough to see me through to the other side WITHOUT trying to rake me over the coals. Thanks Zhane, you're the man!

Friday night our toilet back-up into bathtub and I was unable to clear it, so I put a call in to the always reliable Roto-Rooter Plumbing in Norfolk, VA. Over the years I have used them several times and they are always quick to show up and deal with the problem no matter what time of the day or night. After placing the first call for service, we received follow-up calls with updates as to when the truck would arrive. The plumber, Robert, arrived on-time and was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to snake out the problem from the clean out pipe and was finished with the job in just under an hour. The cost was a tad pricey, $295, but I had a $40 coupon from Angie's List, which knocked it down to $255. Whenever I have a plumbing issue, Roto-Rooter will be my first choice.

Outrageously over priced. Plumber took advantage of 86 year old woman to charge over $700 for less than an hour's work. Yes she agreed because she felt she had no choice. Very poor business practice.In response to the American Mechanical reply, the reply is disingenuous at best. If American Mechanical is proud of charging $710 for an hour's work for an elderly lady afraid of water dripping in her unit, then so be it. Future customers should know that American Mechanical will stick with its unfair business practice (admittedly legal) rather than do the right thing. American Mechanical should be ashamed not proud. They hide behind caveat emptor, buyer beware. We are now wary of any further work with this firm.

Called on Saturday around noon, emergency rates applied, but he called 20 min out as he was on another call and was here in one hour from my appt made. Professional, courteous, and cleaned up behind himself. Have used Co. Before and very happy with the jobs performed. Thank you

Newman's has had my back since I purchased a home in Portsmouth a year ago. After months of getting nowhere with technicians sent by my home warranty people, I reached out to Melissa at Newman's. She wasted no time in sending the guys out to diagnose some pretty intense root intrusion in my main sewer line. The replacement took little time, the price was reasonable, but the trust I have with this company is immeasurable. They have treated my family like their own. Thanks Melissa, David (the Man!), Tyler, Richard, the other dude that was out back digging that trench (sorry, didn't get your name).. You guys are wonderful.

RPG did an excellent job with all the plumbing install for our new kitchen, and were prompt to respond to concerns and issues as they arose. They also installed a new hot water heater when our old one went bad, and were very prompt in responding to our request, so we weren't without hot water for too long. We would recommend them!

A leaking Water Main Line under the crawlspace was causing me a real headache, not to mention a rising water bill. I called the A-1 Emergency Line and within 2-hours, they were at my front door. What professionals... courteous, easy o talk to, and very knowledgeable. They provided a written estimate and explained the entire procedure for the replacement. I also acquired two additional quotes from two other competitors, but A-1's professionalism and price won the day. They arrived the next morning, and they completed the job in a timely manner. I must say, that if A-1 American relies on their technicians to provide excellent service and customer satisfaction, they get A-plus in all categories. Job WELL DONE!
