Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We called Roto Rooter after our home warranty company sent out another crew the day before to clear a blocked toilet and they couldn't handle it. They still wanted paid, but they did nothing. They asked for the location of the cleanout drain and when I pointed them to it, they said it was not the cleanout. They left. I called Roto Rooter, they are not apart of my warranty, showed the guy the cleanout, he used the same drain I pointed the other crew to clear the line from the back of my house to the street. He replaced the wax ring on my toilet and suggested some other work we would need and got an estimate for me.I was a little worried about the cost, but we got the problem solved and it was right in the ballpark of a good deal. I would recommend to anyone. The guy was courteous to my wife, who was home sick and to myself when I came in to help out since my wife was not feeling well. Good call on our part, would do again...hopefully will not have too. :)

The service tech arrived sooner than they mentioned which was great. I had an emergency and they were on site and the issue resolved within 2 hours. I would use them again

Gary came out and was a tremendous help. He took the time to go over things with my wife and I and even took time to answer our questions and discuss The importance of having a clean out drain, and how to turn our water on & off from the yard and where to drain water (at the lowest point of the home) His knowledge, experience and time helped put our mind at ease as first time home buyers and better prepared for plumbing challenges we may encounter in the future. I had an ongoing, pesky plumbing issue with my toilet and Terrence Collins came out to do the job. He was on time, very professional and knowledgeable and actually cared about doing the job the right way. After dealing with a couple of plumbers that couldn't do the job, or just flat out didn't want to, I was leery about having another plumber come out. But Terrence was amazing! He explained everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions and I am so pleased with his work. I've literally found my new, go to plumber.

Made an appointment with this company online for an appointment between 2 and 4 PM got an email saying appointment would be between 2 and 6 PM and they would call 30 minutes before the tech arrived. At 5:30 I received a call that the tech would be 45 minutes which would put him at my house at 6:15 PM. This is unacceptable to me when I told the scheduler to cancel the appointment he could’ve cared less. I should have listened to the people who told me not to call this company. What a joke

This crew showed up on time they showed professionalism and extremely knowledgeable of what needed to be done great customer service as they explain each step Until they completed the repair they definitely exceeded my expectations great two man team I would definitely use their services again of course with the same two guys great job.

Calling Roto Rooter when I found a leak in my wall was a huge mistake. They were at my home over the course of 2 weeks with multiple different people and somehow missed the fact that there was mold all over the wall they had cut open, exposing me to mold while pregnant. A different company coming in to repair the damage noticed the mold in seconds. They also initially said they saw a leak in the wall and one on the second floor with their moisture meter but dismissed the suspected leak on the second floor because they said their dehumidifiers didn’t remove much water. Well two months after the fact when the room had been painted the ceiling paint was bubbling and we quickly realized there was indeed a leak coming from the second floor that they did not recognize, even though they picked up moisture with their own equipment!!! Now the repairs are set back even further because of their inability to do quality work, which is extremely frustrating!

Roto rooter did a good job. Manny the plumber did an excellent job. He informed me of everything he found and couldn't find. Manny provide excellent service. If I have a plumbing issue in the future, I will reach out to roto rooter and specifically ask for Manny.

Our main line became clogged and backed up into the tub on a Sunday afternoon. We called and were able to schedule service within a couple of hours. Terrance Collins was our technician and he was able to clear out the clog quickly, despite our janky old pipes. He gave us advice on how to avoid future problems and did everything with an incredibly positive attitude.

Manny and Justin did a great job. On time and kept me in the loop hourly on everything happening. Very professional.

Gary showed up on time, and cleared the obstruction rather quickly. They had a person from water remediation show up to see if we had water damage and if we needed any assistance in the clean up. Both were friendly and professional.

My mother had a hot water heater that just started spurting out water. This was a Saturday morning, of course, Sears has the protection agreement on her hot water heater, but they could not come out for 2 weeks. Crazy. I called Roto-Rooter and got a live person on the phone and better than that they had someone at our door in 15-20 minutes. A welcomed site! We had a fellow by the name of Steve and he was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He took care of the problem, stopped the water from spurting. He reminded me of the old way of taking care of customers, very friendly, very willing to satisfy the customer and did it with a smile! I will be using this company again for sure, I have rentals and it is imperative to have a reliable, fast acting service - especially during emergencies. The cost of the bill for being on a Saturday was much less than I had anticipated. Thank you Steve!

Called RotoRooter for clogged toilet. I tried to unclog it myself but nothing was working. Technician (Trent) showed up within trameframe I was given. greeted me with a smile. Asked questions about what happened with toilet & what I tried to do to fix it. Gave me the prices & unclogged toilet with minutes. Made sure toilet flushed without any issues after unclogging it.

Robert was great! Our sewer line backed up and started flooding our bathroom.He was so helpful in explaining the options. He even helped us look for the outside sewer opening that was hidden in an overgrown flower bed. I appreciate the professionalism from Roto-Rooter customer service. They contacted me to let me to let me know when Ryan was on his way.After I explained the issue about the leak from the shower drain, Ryan carefully examined the shower drain and then explained to me what needed to be done and how he was going to do the repair. He also explain the cost of the repairs as he went along so there would be no surprise cost at the end. After he finished the repairs he turned on the shower to make sure there was no leakage from the new drain installed and there wasn't. The repairman Gary was very transparent during the entire fix. Found and repaired the problem I called for and found another unknown problem and repaired that as well. PLUMBER - VIRGINIA BEACHEarly this morning this morning I was informed that we're having clogging issues with the toilets in our chapel. I was tasked to call for urgent service and Roto-Rooter cross my mind so I called. The lady that I talked to stated that she will send the technician to look at the situation and the latest will be @ 11:30 AM. I decided to go to our chapel at around 10:00 and shortly after the technician (Henry Shazer) showed up. He looked at the drains outside and he immediately know what to do. He gave me a price quotation which is much lower than what I paid for about two weeks ago to a different company for the same problem.Henry was able to un-clog the system and everything was back to normal. He cleaned up the sites that he worked on before leaving which the other company didn't do. I will definitely call Roto-Rooter again if we encounter plumbing issues in the future.

Hunter and Kevin saved my family’s lives. The attention and care that went into our water heater installation led them to recognizing an exhaust duct issue that led to years of exhaust being pumped into our floor boards leaving burns in our insulation and on our floor joists. This problem was missed by multiple home inspectors as the house was built in 2005 and we are the fourth owners.The space with the issue was directly below the room where both of my children sleep. If for some reason the detach duct got blocked, that toxic gas would’ve had nowhere to escape. Thank god my water heater had a water leak, and thank god these guys were the ones to come and replace it. It would’ve been too easy to just reattach the old duct to the new heater, but they said it didn’t feel right and absolutely insisted we cut the drywall to look. Once again, thank god they did. Thanks guys. We are grateful.

Charged $474.86 for 45 min of work to clean my sewer drain line was never quoted price before starting work was told over phone that they charge $179 an hour but mec would price it if extra work was needed.Bull !! Talked with manager about billing and there reply was we charge a flat rate no matter how long the job takes .So really if it took them 4 to 10 hours I think they would change that and I would be selling a kidney ! Family of 5 trying to make it by and then we get robbed from a liscenced plumber don't let roto rooter you!

Upon the tech Mr. Zack Jaber coming out for the call. I was impressed on how professional, prompt, and knowledgeable he was after explaining the issue. I was experiencing drain flies in my shower. He looked under the house and saw exactly what the problem was. He then advised me that the trap had slipped a loose and would need to be reattached. The price he quoted me; I felt was fair. I let him know that I would first reach out to the company that originally did the work back in February 2020. As this is to see if there is a warranty in place and to seek rectification. If not, I will definitely be contacting him back to do the work. This information was at no cost to me. Then, I had attempted to turn the shower on and the water pressure was not working. He knew what that issue was and fixed it at no costas well. I was so pleased that I gave him a tip. With employees like Mr.Jaber, Roto-rooter is a great company to go with. The two gentlemen,( Mr. Zack and Mr. Scott), arrived at my place of residence on Friday evening regarding plumbing issues.The character that each gentlemen display was very professional and courteous.They also provided exceptional customer service while assuring that the issue will be resolve. 2 service calls the 1st 1 was too lazy to look for a clean out in front of the house but charged me, didn't even pull out any tools.. While the 2nd one back up showed up to give me a sale pitch and another charge. Not one tool was pulled out on both calls, had to call a professional...

The bill was not as expensive as I thought it would be. I'm thankful for what a good job he did. Roto-Rooter is the plumber I'm always going to call.

I explained issues I had seen and he discusses preventative measures and then went to work. Fixed the clog, and left the work area cleaner than he found it. Service was courteous and thorough. I’d been having trouble with a bathroom built onto my home in the past year. Backups, weird noises, possible demonic possession, you name it! Thankfully Joe and Kriston, techs number 2181 and 4449, came out today to get everything fixed. It was quick, easy, and they couldn’t have been nicer, explaining everything they were doing and even showing me on camera where our problem was. Thanks, Roto Rooter!Ok, Joe and Kriston were still amazing, but I’ve now been waiting 6 days for the camera tech to scope my shower, which was supposed to have been done the same day that the other two technicians came. Another tech came Monday, three days after Joe and Kriston, but didn’t bring the right tools, and told me he would call back to schedule someone who could actually finish the job. This never happened, I’ve called daily since then to try and schedule the end of this same job, and the best answer I’ve been given as to when a technician MIGHT show up is, “hopefully before next Tuesday.” I’ve got to say, I’m not thrilled at this point.

Roto-Rooter’s plumber Manny saves thanksgiving! My kitchen drain pipe detached and was leaking into my crawl space. They came out the same day, got me in touch with the water restoration department who came out and cleared a clean path for Manny to come back and fix the pipe so I could use my kitchen sink for thanksgiving! I am so grateful for them! Truly a lifesaver! Claim has already been filed and everything that was damaged in the crawl space will be replaced on Friday. Excellent service!

Carlos from the Oakton VA branch of Rotorooter handled a sewer line back up at my home, which was built in 1965. He was able to snake the pipe and put in a non-chemical enzyme that is to help keep the line clear. I think the price is a bit stiff (over $500) but they did come when promised and did what was needed, so there is always a price for that. His explanations of the issues seemed logical to me, I don't think he tried to sell me anything I didn't need, and so far the issue seems resolved. He also made recommendations for if it occurs again. He is also sending over a water mitigation firm at a discount to evaluate the damage to my rugs and drywall in the affected area, so we will see how that goes. He was courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend.

In the movie Finding Nemo all drains lead to the ocean...in reality at our house all drains lead to the basement tub! We were unable to successfully fix the issue with do-it-yourself tools. After 24 hours of no shower, toilet, or sink use with two teens and a toddler, we threw in the towel and decided to call a professional. My husband asked three different friends (separately), and they all HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ROTO-ROOTER. I called at 9am and they were able to have James at our doorstep by 11am the same day. He would have been even faster, but he was coming from a job 45 minutes away from our house! James S. was POLITE and PROFESSIONAL. He was able to assess and fix the problem within 1-1.5 hours after arriving (tree roots coming through pipe and causing blockage). We will still need to take additional steps on our own to avoid future issues (remove the offending trees), but he was able to clear the drain and resolve the back-up problem IMMEDIATELY. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this company to others and use them again myself in the future, especially in an emergency situation because of their QUICK ASSESSMENT and FAST RESPONSE TIME. My one regret? That I didn't call them yesterday!!!

My wife called Roto-Rooter to take care of our terribly clogged Kitchen Sink and to replace its faucet as well. We were given an estimated time and Manny arrived with a Trainee promptly and ready to start. After receiving a reasonable Estimate, they both got to work and despite everything our pipes threw at them, they worked tirelessly to get our drain fully-functional. When they recommended their Preventive Pipe Shield, we bought it immediately, as Roto-Rooter products are literally the only ones that have ever actually worked for us. Zach and team were at my rental property first thing the next morning after the service call. They found a split pipe from the recent freeze. They repaired it quickly and showed me the piece of pipe they had cut out. The guys were friendly and provided information about how to seal the crawl space better to prevent a recurrence. I also had the water damage remediation team visit the house and they pumped the standing water out of the basement and set up fans and a dehumidifier. Roto-Rooter Service 21 Sep 2011- I called Roto-Rooter for a backed-up kitchen sink drain. After removing the trap and finding no blockage, I knew I needed a professional plumber. Roto-Rooter arrived within 1 hour of my call. The technician (Brad Milner) was professional, friendly, polite, and shared his knowledge of sink drains and garbage disposals as he worked on the pipes. The technician used an electric powered snake to clear my blocked drain pipe. The drain pipe was cleared, the trap re-assembled and the sink was tested for proper drainage; all without 1 drop of water on the floor. After completing the repairs, the technician gave me some helpful tips to keep my drains flowing freely as he gathered his tools. I paid by credit card on the spot, another easy transaction. Roto-Rooter gives a 30 day service warranty. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter.

Quick to arrive and service the clogged kitchen sink in the house. Explained what the problem was and tested to make sure everything in the house was working after the fix was made. The price was a little higher than I thought, but it is a good example of you get what you pay for. They even provided me with an online coupon to reduce the price. Will call again if needed

Shawn came out and in less than an hour had the kitchen drain cleared out. He cleaned up after himself and was professional and knowledgeable about his trade.

Jacob did a fantastic job fixing my toilet. I highly recommend that you ask for Jacob when you call the company. The first guy who came installed a new flushing mechanism. However, the plunger part was not working right and my toilet kept making a water sound. They sent a second guy out who said, That sound is normal and I believed him. Two days later, I called the company again and told them it's not normal to hear the toilet making a water sound long after it's been flushed. Jacob solved the problem! He had to go buy the part from Lowes and then installed a rubber type plunger that works correctly. Sound is gone. Thank you Jacob!

Same day tech came out to my home to provide an estimate for my main water line outlet leak after me calling just 2 hours before. I received a steep price, but I guess that’s how much this particular repair costs usually, for a 17 ft replacement. All of my questions were answered, the job was completed within 1 day, and the city came out to review the work the next day. In total, the crew was professional and worked quickly; however, I give 4 stars due to me having to reach out MULTIPLE TIMES to ask for updates from my consultant. Didn’t receive any info of the city being done with their inspection or if the job was complete… I just received an email with a bill a few days later… odd, considering I expect a professional company I hired for a big replacement to keep me updated within business hours. Overall, good and efficient work.P.S. I recommend if you’re unsure of where your main water line leak or sewage line leak is, call American Leak Detection FIRST to have them pinpoint where the leak is. It runs about $425 for the internalized pressure test, which I got reimbursed from home insurance luckily, but at least you won’t have a whole plumbing company charging you way more to rip up property trying to find the leak. As a first time homeowner, I’ve learned by trial and error but I hope this helps people avoid the headache of figuring out how to go about repairing a main leak!

The service was excellent and timely. Our tech was very kind and helpful. I understand it was a Sunday but all we needed was a snake (we knew what and where the problem was). We didn’t need a camera inspect or anything complicated. We were originally charged $396 to snake our main line. That is almost the cost to buy one of those machines ourselves and snake it. After saying no thanks we can find someone to do it for $100, we were offered $150 to snake with no camera or 6-month guarantee which we knew we didn’t need. After a quick snake and flush we were good to go as expected. That was a reasonable price. The technician was wonderful and we had a great experience but I think a simple snake that took 10 minutes plus the time for paperwork should not run $396.

For the last few years, we have experienced issues with our drains, particularly if it has been raining or if we try to do laundry, run the dishwasher, take a shower and flush the toilet at the same time. On Christmas Eve, we woke up to completely clogged drains. We called one of the Norfolk Roto-Rooter numbers (located via Angie's List) and they sent their plumbing technician Zack out to our house. He arrived within two hours of our initial call and had a speedy diagnosis for us. After attempting to locate our water main and the blockage itself, he recommended that we call the city because the block appeared to be in their jurisdiction. He waited with us until the city workers arrived and assisted them in locating our water main. After the city cleared the blockage, he checked our line to make sure that there were not any further issues. He also requested that the city add a clean-out box for our house since our house isn't covered by any of the other clean-out boxes on the street. Zack was very friendly and professional, and definitely went above and beyond to help us resolve our drain issues. We would definitely call Roto-Rooter again.

New homeowner here. About 2 weeks in, our main line had a block. 6:45 PM. I called and scheduled an appointment within minutes. The dispatcher was very professional. She gave me a 2 hour time frame and informed me that I would get a text or call about 30 minutes before arrival. I DID get a text, however the technician did not show up for about another hour. When he did arrive, he was very professional and answered all my questions. The repair did take about 2 hours. It was pricey, but it was worth the peace of mind as a new homeowner. My repair is guaranteed for 6 months. Overall, I had hoped it would have been cheaper, and a bit quicker, but I understand the time frame was not ideal for the company.

Steve Baker arrived on time, discussed with me the job that he would be doing. Due to flooding in the garage a utility sink needed to be replaced. Steve quickly assessed the job, clarified the details, made an estimate of cost, discussed that with me and then worked all morning, took a short break for lunch and back at the job until completion. There were a couple of problems with installation and placement, but Steve resolved them quickly. When he left the new pipe was installed, the sink and washer running perfectly. Steve genuinely seemed to enjoy his work, but important to me as a customer was that he was concerned that I was satisfied with the job and confident it would run properly without any obstacles. Thank you for confident employees who care about the jobs they work on.

I called them yesterday for a broken pipe and they never came. when they finally came this morning the claimed they fixed it only to have my sink not drain later on. when i called them back they quoted me 350 to fix a problem they caused. later on the pipe broke again and they told me they dont have a plumber until tomorrow morning. How can you say you guys are a 24hr service when you dont even have anyone for at night? I will never use this company again.

Had an emergency situation in oceanfront around midnight. Home warranty wasn't gonna send anyone out until the following day, even tho water was backed up and flowing out of my downstairs toilet. Roto Rooter dispatched a plumber in under an hour. Robert arrived and quoted me the price and after talking, said he was going to check the city line first. In doing so, he discovered that the city line was the reason for the clog. He advised me to call the city and didn't charge me a thing. I feel most plumbers would have done the $450 service and then told me to call the city.

The plumber (Dave) was out to clear out my drain line within 2 hours of calling on a Tuesday night at 8pm. He was unable to get it unclogged initially, and had to come back the following night to try a few more things. He was able to get the drain unclogged, and all under the initially quoted amount even though he had to do a substantial amount of work to get it cleared. Dave was very friendly, courteous, punctual, and professional. Beyond that, the dispatch folks were very good about frequent communication and letting me know what time Dave would arrive each time.

Roto rooter on 509 Viking dr which is considered the Norfolk one. This was the worse place I have ever worked for the manager brian Payne is the worse manager I have ever worked for. I had an issue with my check he didn't care to fix it at all so I never got paid correctly. So when I decided I couldn't take it anymore I decided to quit and he decided he was not gonna pay me which is against the law. There is a lot of good workers that work there that gets mistreated. For example you got a guy that does all of the managers work and suppose to be paid like one but instead he makes 300 a week. I hope and pray this review gets seen from the top and make changes because that manager does not care about anyone but himself. He belittles everyone. And very unprofessional.

We called late on a Friday afternoon for a clogged toilet. In the past we would have to wait for service on the next day. We were told Gary was in our area and would be with us as soon as possible. I was even called into work and called dispatch to see if I could reschedule for a later time that day and they were very accommodating. When Gary arrived he was very professional and was concerned with getting my toilet running again as soon as possible. He explained upfront what he would be doing and asked if I had any questions once he was finished. He only took about 30 minutes to fix my toilet. I want to personally commend Joe (Tech #2181) and the apprentice, Karl (Tech #5522), for superb work. To begin, they showed up on time, were personable, and very respectful of my home. On 23 July I had a problem with my drainage. I called Roto Router and a technician named Ali came out and snake the drain line cleared the line which made us very happy he also said that they were going to send somebody out to run a camera down the drain line Max cam over and ran a camera in the drain line and said that the bottom of the drain was ate away and needed to be replaced so they scheduled it for Tuesday 25 July the job was completed at the end of the day all in all roto Router did a fantastic job from now on. The service that was provided was prompt and the technician was very polite. The only issue with the visit was the technician selling their so called “product”. Giving a little history of my experience with Roto-Rooter concerning this visit was the issue I had with my kitchen sink backing up. This past April I called Roto-Rooter to take care of the issue. It was amazing in such a short time span since their initial visit I had to have them come again and take care of the backed up kitchen sink again. The previous technician sold me the “product “ that I used regularly in the sink plus I took care that things such as grease didn’t get put into the sink. I didn’t expect to have this same issue that I spent a lot of money on last April to have to spend almost $300.00 on again. Hopefully the issue has been taken care of this time. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

I had a bad cog in my sink. The company was able to send someone out within a couple of hours and thr work was dome quickly. Gary was great and very professional!

Roto Rooter— Do not recommend. Called for a broken outdoor spigot at 4. Was told they’d be here by six. Had to call them at 7. They arrived at 8. With no parts to fix our problem. Our water has to remain shut off until the spigot is fixed. Called to complain. I was told that they don’t carry parts for my situation (no plug? No spigot??) and that normally they would come out, diagnose the problem, and then go pick up the parts. How does that work in an emergency situation? Never again.

Called RotoRooter because I had a backed up system. They responded with a tech sent to my address within the hour. He was very kind, gave an estimate of the damage and was right on the money when he was done fixing the block and my upstairs shower too. Highly recommend these guys.

I couldn't take a shower and had to be at work today. I called Roto Rooter and they had a technician out within the hour. Wayne was super friendly and professional. Thank goodness I called them or I would have gone to work smelly!

UPDATE:****Noah (District Manager) took the time to call to discuss the situation. He was very attentive apologetic for the confusion and dissatisfaction that came with the WATER RESTORATION. He was a very professional, personable, and sympathetic. Also, BEST PLUMBING SERVICES EVER******When asking for PLUMBING services they sent in a plummer who was very attentive and helpful when describing the problem. However, their WATER RESTORATION services (JAMES KUCENSKI) showed up unsolicited, they did not give any options but instead dictated on one specific solution. They did not explain the process or offered any possible contractors after TEARING UP BOTH UPSTAIRS BATHROOM AND RIPPING UP THE DOWNSTAIRS FLOORING. When calling the number given, they did not respond in a timely manner. They kept saying they needed to call me back but did not. This was very unprofessional in a sense of communicating with their client. In summary WATER RESTORATION EXPERIENCE WAS DISAPPOINTING, CONFUSING, AND UNSATISFACTORY COSTUMER SERVICE . This entire experience with Roto-Rooter has been confusing. The entire time if felt as though we were getting scammed. Honestly I believe we were. We paid a ridiculous amount for a plumber to come a snake our pipes due to a clog. The cord broke in our pipes while doing so and they said they would come back the next day. Well the next morning we had a surprise visit from a lady there and she took pictures and claimed we had water damage all of a sudden. She did not even use the tool to be able to tell, she literally took them on her phone and quickly showed them. She had me immediately put in a claim with my home insurance so they could come out this week to fix said water damage. When I later asked her to send me those photos so I could take a closer look I got no response. Then I called the next day to ask and I was sent straight to voicemail. Seems a little suspicious. When the plumber came out the next day with a new cord on the machine, he completed his job. However we were told that a person would come with a camera to examine the pipes as that was what was included in the price we paid. No one ever came or contacted us. It seemed there was no communication between anyone that came to see us and it all seemed sketchy. I don’t believe I would recommend this company to anyone unless you want to feel on edge the entire time.

We called Roto-Rooter because both our toilets were clogged. Come to find out my son had put objects down both toilets. Alonzo came out and fixed them both on a Monday. He was wonderful, quick, and professional. One of them clogged again on Thursday so he came back out and took care of that one. Not my son this time, the toilet just can’t flush too much toilet paper at one time. He gave some recommendations for new toilets to look at for the future. I wish the warranty lasted longer than a week but I would recommend their services for sure!

Emmanuel tech 3050 did a very nice job very thorough very polite. I am not happy with the fact that I was scheduled on 5 February from 12 to 2 and at 4 o’clock I had to reschedule for the next day. At that time Angela rescheduled me from 10 to 12 and at 1o’clock I’m still calling and finding out why nobody was at my house. Talked to April. And tech finally showed up at 1:30.

Way too long of a story to ho into detail but they quoted $3-8 thousand dollars and invoiced us for over $11 thousand dollars but won't or can't explain why it went over. I know they billed for more equipment than was there and charged us for removal of a vanity that was never removed as evidenced by their own photos. Stay away from this company.

I woke up to a completely stopped up toilet that was backing up into my bathtub. When I went downstairs I was devastated when I saw the water coming out my ceilings and running down my beams. Called Rotorooter and they were there in abt an hour. Not to mention this was 7am on a Saturday and I live in Newport News. I had my drained cleaned and the restoration team in to do the demo. Technician was on time. They came out to unclog the toliet and charge $500.00 for a 30 minute job. Two days later they were called back out for the same bathroom and didn't charge us, because it was under a six month warranty. A week later we called them back out there was water coming out shower when you flush the toliet. They said it was not under warranty and it will be $1100.00 to fix the blockage and we paid. It. Three weeks later we are having additional problems a camera was order on there first visit know one came out. When the technician came out this to unclog the toliet the same toilet from the first visit. He requested for a camera, when the camera technician came out he said it will be $1500.00 to clean out. He also brought to my attention he need half that same day and the remaining balance after the job was done.He ask me was money a issue. I looked at him and said no. I made a appointment to have the job done. But I canceled it do to over pricing. Me and my husband fet insulted by the technician comment. In addition Rotor Rooter has been out to our home 6 times in one month and I have a stack of invoices. I have reached out to other local plumbing companies for a clean out and the price is less than $450.00Over price company over rated, shop aroud before you call Rotor Rooter. They are all about the money and not customer satisfactionI did receive a call from one of the supervisor apologizing for my experience. It is hard to believe that. I spent $1100.00 +$ 500 and still having problems till today. I received a $500.00 refund 2 weeks ago for not being happy with your companies service and still have problems. I contacted another local plumbing company in Norfolk and there prices are way less for a real clean out. I will be using there services. If every technician is as knowledgeable and helpful as Josh, then I would absolutely say Roto-Rooter Plumbing is the way to go! Our plumbing backed up from the toilet and flooded the entire bottom floor on a Saturday morning. I called several plumbers for quotes on Saturday afternoon and found they all charged time and a half or double time on weekends, which was terrifying since I am a new homeowner and wasn't even sure what I was dealing with therefore had absolutely zero frame of reference for what it might cost or how long it might take... I am so thankful for Roto-Rooter Plumbing in Norfolk! ZERO dollars to have the technician come out, diagnose the problem, and tell you EXACTLY what you will pay before you commit to anything. Did you hear me?? Not an estimate... the ACTUAL PRICE! Whether it takes 5 minutes or 5 hours. And sure, if it takes 5 minutes (highly unlikely) then that's a lot of money for a quick job but it is specialized work and the reason I called is because I couldn't do it myself and I needed a professional. It's worth the peace of mind to know exactly how much money you'll be on the hook for, rather than waiting for the technician to complete the work while you count and calculate the minutes.Our job took about 2 hours and was well worth the price, not just for the service provided, but also for the incredibly helpful knowledge and suggestions from Josh, our technician. He spent the time to explain what the problem was, why it was a problem, and review all the best and worst case scenarios and how to navigate them. Still not a fun situation to be in, but at least we know what we're dealing with and how to proceed!

I had a very good experience with Shawn prunty he was very professional polite and he explained everything to me that I needed to know I recently had three other different companies come out to my house through a home warranty that I own and I didn't get the problem fixed until Roto-Rooter came to my house very happy and will use again if needed

Frank Rossi here. We used Roto Rooter plumber in Virginia Beach. They did a good job. A little expensive but at least they did a good job.

Out of the four hour window I was given the team showed up within the first hour and after a brief conversation about the issue, they got right to business and quickly diagnosed the problem. They were efficient and took plenty of pictures and video of the issue so I could see exactly what was going on. Definitely recommend, and will definitely call again next time a problem arises.

I was scheduled to have an appointment between 8 and noon. The technician came close to 2:00 pm. My repair was minor, to replace two flush valves for 2 Manfield toilets. The parts cost me 47.64. The labor charge was $300.00 . The technician was here for 35 minutes. After calling several other companies and comparing labor charges, I strongly feel the labor charge for this job was excessive .have no intentions of using this company again.

I had a sink overflow and it left my toilet with a smell. I attempted to fix it myself. To no avail and frustration I called Roto-Rooter. They sent a young guy with unruly hair, he was late, and when he came in I asked him how long has he been a plumber. 1.5 years he said.So he goes in to a toilet already taken apart and said you just need a wax ring. So he goes to get one and returned an hour later. He attempts to place the toilet back on and the toilet is moving. I said that is not right it is not suppose to move. After a few attempts I asked him to leave because apparently he didn't know what to do.He insisted I pay 356.00 for the attempt and I said I will not pay anything you didn't fix anything. He then said well we will just put it on your credit and in to collections. I said go ahead. Leave my house. He kept saying you need to pay. I then said out of my house forcefully. I called Roto-Rooter and explained what happened and the supervisor. I explained to him the situation. Then the plumber is knocking at my door indicating I need to sign something.Very very unprofessional.I thanked the supervisor for calling me and I didn't pay for this terrible service. I then went to get a wax ring and new bolts, and installed the toilet myself. I am a 62 year old woman. Go figure

My drains from my clothers washer and kitchen have been backed up and using either of them caused water to come up in the other. This had been going on for 8 months and we thought we just had leaky pipes. We eventually tried to flush it and snake it ourselves, but we only actually completely clogged the drains! We made an appointment at around 4pm today and they arrived same night at around 7pm and had the issue resolved by 830pm. I was astounded with how well it went with my Tech, Gary Banks, being a wealth of knowledge of good plumbing-keeping tips. Roto-Rooter also offers coupons for various services on their website and I managed to save 15% on my pipe cleaning! I'd definitely recommend the Hampton Roto-Rooter.

Apparently a cable company may have cut into my sewage pipe a couple of feet down. Long story short, Alonzo Aungon came out first thing, explained in detail the process, was polite and professional. Had to call to make an appointment to have someone come find out the problem. When I called, I was greeted by a friendly representative. They were able to get someone to my house today to figure out what is going on and tell me how much it would be to fix it. Not only was it today, it was within the hour. It was free for them to come out and tell me what they thought was going on with my drains. Matt (the tech) was very professional upon arriving. They fixed what they could and the one drain that they couldn't, they got one of their specialty camera techs to come out. Would recommend the company every time!

Called for a plumber today slightly before 1pm and was given a 2pm-6pm window for the employee to come out today. I later received a call at 430 saying they would have someone out here within 2 hours. The next call I received about 2 hours later and they told me nobody could make it out today. I am unable to turn the water back on in my house until this toilet is fixed due to how it broke and this was very frustrating.

Fast, courteous. He fixed a toilet that was leaking, replaced seals. Hopefully it'll work, I believe it will. He left everything clean, was very pleasant. Only bad thing - your prices have gone up quite a bit since last time I used you, much more than inflation.

These guys were a pleasure to work with and didn't charge me for the visit or the diagnostics they performed.My issue started when my 17 year old daughter accidentally flushed a very large keychain down the toilet. Within 24 hrs all of my facilities were backed up and offline. I called out Roto-Rooter. William arrived on time and was a really nice guy. He tried to locate my exterior clean out but was unable to identify a location for the cleanout. I was curious why he didnt go into my crawlspace to investigate my plumbing for further insight to the existence of a possible clean out. From there we waited and chatted for about an hour, waiting on Tiko to arrive with a camera to locate the obstruction. Tiko was able to located the obstruction 32 ft down line from the toilet. From there William moved in to try and snake the obstruction out and push the debris into the main city sewer line. He tried to insert the snake through toilet flange opening, however he could not navigate the snake through the bends in the piping and was not able to reach the obstruction. The recommendation was made to install a exterior clean out and perform a high pressure flush to dislodge the obstruction. We briefly discussed pricing and it was going to be ALOT!From this point I explained that I wanted to get a 2nd opinion before moving forward....William and Tiko remained very polite and gave me a business card.....From there I call Newman's Plumbing, they came right away, quickly discovered that I DID indeed have an exterior cleanout and were able to clear the obstruction within 30 mins. Through the process of talking with Newman's plumber I discovered several troubleshooting errors caused by Roto-Rooter. #1 Unable to locate my cleanout, and were going to install an additional cleanout at high cost. #2 trying to snake the obstruction from the toilet. The bends in the piping makes in nearly impossible to gain entry into the main line due to the rigidity of the snake. It simply cant bend enough to get past those bends. #3 Newman's explained that the correct course of action for removing this obstruction (without an external cleanout) would have been to cut a small hole in the pipe below the bends as to ease entry to the obstruction....but of course I actually had a clean out so this method was not needed.Although I commend the professionalism of the techs at Roto-Rooters it was apparent that they lacked heavily in experience and training. I also felt as if they were trying to upsell me into a situation that was much more then I should have to pay.Use recognized experts when searching for home repairs. Just because a company has been around a long time doesn't mean their name carries the same weight that it once did. Roto-Rooter has sold out and obviously placed profits above service. I will never use Roto-Rooter again.....but again, William and Tiko were very professional and decent men but were obviously in over their heads on this one. Newman's Plumbing gained a customer, Roto-Rooter lost one.

I am a long time To Rooter customer.Technician, Manny very polite and competent, after attempt to repair initial problem did not work he offered alternative to install a new hot water heater due to obsolescence of availability of parts. Something I was well aware of due to age of equipment. Manny obtained and installed a new system which is as I said something I expected. Job was well done.

Garnet was great!! He detected a problem that require additional help. Tito was the second technician to come and he ran a camera down the piping. Both of them were very professional and helpful and patient. There is also a supervisor that stopped by to double check everything. This was on a Sunday, so we really appreciated all the work they did on the weekend.

Plumber did a great job. The business itself not so great. Said would be out Sunday between 4 and 8. Then called and said Monday between 12 and 4. Finally someone came at 6:15. Very happy with the job he did. Not so happy with the company.

Lee Huffman rocks! Had a sewer line that deteriorated. Challenging to say the least because the line was broken under another tenants suite. Because the line and subsequent backup was servicing a restaurant, we needed the work to be completed quickly. Lee came highly recommended and was called in for a second opinion. Lee assessed the situation and before confirming previous plans to cut the slab in the suite next door, he came up with an alternate plan that brought the sewer line out the back door of the suite, then subsequently tying it into a different lateral within 30 feet of the back door. While the repair was costly, if we would have gone with the other recommendation, the loss of revenue from the suite next door would have been significant, not to mention the cost of pouring a new section of slab as well as installing a new carpet. Lee called in his crew who worked into the late evening (a Friday evening at that), returning in the early morning to complete the job quickly, professionally, and without a hiccup! Been using Roto Rooter for years and Lee is at the top of the list for major work. Thank you to Lee and crew (John Miller and gang from Rock Solid Concepts) that worked with him to get this job done so quickly after getting the call late on a Friday afternoon. Been in the facility management business for a long time and this was one of the best responses to an emergency situation that I have had the pleasure of being a part of.

I had 3 plumbers from A1 come to my house and charge me hourly to clean my pips out telling me it was roots and Roto-Rooter came out and did it for a flat rate and verry quickly, then when the plumber couldn't figure out what was wrong but he knew right away that it wasn't tree roots he had a person come and look in my pipes with a camera. He found that my pipe was collapsing and physically showed me on the screen. All together they were verry trustworthy and extremely hospitable, not to mention they did there jobs quickly and effectively all while being able to talk to me and answer any questions I might have. The little bit of extra cost is well worth the peace of mind when you go with Roto-Rooter... thank you...

We called rotorooter to come out & clean our slow drains in our older house. A plumber had been called 3 months before & the drains started getting clogged again. I would give a rating of below one if possible. They replaced all of the lines in our home from the back of the house to the street. While the plumbing work may be fine, the damage done to the inside of our home is unbelievable. Plastic was stapled to walls and ceilings, including wallpapered walls. Our marble floor was destroyed because they failed to cover it properly. Carpet was ruined because it was not properly covered. A kitchen cabinet and Corian countertop were damaged because of their lack of respect for our belongings. The concrete poured to cover the openings in our slab were not level. In one place you could see through to the ground. While I have been told by management that things have changed as a result of the errors made during the work on my property, I am left with many bills to pay. Our insurance company has been wonderful. However, we have out of pocket expenses because of the insurance limitations.

Ernie, the plumber, came within the 2-hour window, as promised. He assessed the problem and went ahead to address it. The problem was a pump used for sewage; it was obstructed and, obviously, caused me all kinds of problems: no sinks, no toilets, no showers. After clearing the obstruction, Ernie tested the pump to ensure it worked well again. The entire event took less than one hour and the cost was reasonable and well within what I expected it might be. I called after 8 pm due to a blocked main drain in my home. Another company's earliest available service time was 5 days away. I guess that they expected me to use a neighbor's facilities until then. Roto-Rooter made an appointment for the next day, but offered to contact me if an earlier time became available. I received a call-back within the hour and the plumber showed up a half hour later. The drain was cleared quickly and efficiently with no mess left behind. The service fee was high, but reasonable, and the technician accepted an online coupon.

Technician came out and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He fixed the issue and told us with our service that someone would come out to send a camera down the drain to see if any further steps are needed. We are still waiting for second technician to come out to take those photos. Other than that everything was good.

I needed service on New Year's Eve. I called Royo Rooter from the Virginia Beach Yellow page ad. They a answered the phone in 3 rings. They sent a service mm over within 3 hours. They quoted a fair price, but the job took almost 1 hr longer than expected to complete. The service man was friendly, polite and reassuring. When he finished the job, he did not change the price and I gave him an unplanned tip of $40 and wished him a Happy New year.
