Called a plumber out to help me figure out where the leak was. Turns out two of the toilets were running when I was out of town. The techs solution was to replace the parts 2k or replace the toilets 4K and was pushing me to replace the toilets because who knows other parts might fail and I’ll have to replace the toilet in a month anyways. The 4 k price includes 2 toilets plus install and takeaway. I asked them how many hours this would take and what’s their hourly charge and material costs. And his response was we charge by job. I told them to email me the estimate which they never did. And when he left I went on Home Depot’s website and they charge 20 dollars for the parts to replace, 100-300 dollars for the toilet and Home Depot will install each toilet for 315 each. So even if I did go the route of two new toilets plus install and take away that’s still $1200. 4K for that same job is highway robbery. And I get it plumbers will often charge 4x more for an emergency call but this wasn’t an emergency call issue since I already had called the water department to turn off the water and had the water turned off at the main. And when I found out it was those two toilets I had turned off the water to those bathrooms. So there was no emergency and they weren’t offering to do it same day to fix my problem.

These people are either crooks or the tech gets paid hourly and was just killing time giving me an outrageous number while sitting in his van pretending to write up an estimate he never sent me. Because he had me wait a good 20 minuets before his estimate was “ready” to talk about.

Dino gave proper notice and arrived within the time he said he would.I feel that he knows what he is doing, is knowledgeable and experience.He talked us, Alycia and I, through what he was doing and explainedwhat we were seeing on the screen while he scoping the waste pipe. Therewere irregularities in the pipe. He did an excellent job in negotiating theproblems he encountered when he jet power cleaned and scoped the pipes.We have a clear understanding of the waste pipe condition.

In researching earthquake readiness, I learned that you can retrofit your house’s gas supply with an automatic shut-off valve that detects seismic shaking greater than 5.0. This means if there’s an earthquake emergency you don’t have to think about shutting off the gas. I contacted Advanced Plumbing & Drain for an appointment. The team arrived on time, assessed the situation and completed the retrofit within the hour. Prompt and professional. Good communication. I highly recommend them.

These guys were great. I called them out initially do to a test only for the Oakland sewer lateral compliance program. My line failed miserably and I ended up hiring them to replace my sewer line instead. They only charged me for the replacement! They were quick efficient and clean. I hired hydroflow to flush and service my tankless waterheater. They cleaned and replaced the condensate line. I noti e better pressure and much quicker to get upto temp. Real good job guys! Quick, efficent and professional plumbers!
