We are new to Durham and had our first official plumbing emergency in our new home. We randomly selected and called Jayk’s. Jason was very professional, helpful, and arrived promptly. He also charged a very reasonable fee and we were very impressed and grateful with the work he did and in the timely manner he completed it. Highly recommended and we will definitely call him again if we ever have any other issues.

Chris was extremely helpful and professional with his services. He clearly answered all questions that I had and also advised me on things to look for once his work was completed if a revisit would potentially be needed. He was respectful of our space as my wife and I work from home and are on calls constantly. The time that it took to complete his services were within the time frame he initially advised. Chris also came in a tad less than the initial telephonic quote after assessing the work and my property which made for a great experience and I will trust him and this company solely going forward with my plumbing needs! Joseph was very responsive to our need for services when we discovered an outside water leak he came on the day and time he promised worked very effectively and efficiently and charged the going rate for his services and even followed up by sending a thank you note a personalized handwritten note from him and his wife Thanking us for using his Services I would highly recommend Joseph and will definitely call upon him again in the future if the need arises

I had a really positive experience with Midtown Plumbing. It was easy to schedule an appointment and I really appreciated the text with the picture of my technician. My technician Matt was also extremely knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through several options to fix my issue. I will definitely be using them again in the future

We have a leak in a bathroom sink which Eugene D via Daniel “repaired” 8 months ago. Brand new parts were purchased and they installed.

The entire assembly came apart this week and water was leaking worse than before. Eugene’s response was to share that we were way past their labor warranty and offered an even higher price to come out and fix again showing no concern for what seems to be poor workmanship the first time.

I was persuaded by all the great comments here to use this outfit. Would you expect a sink with new parts installed to work longer than 8 months? I do!

Edit as of 8/17: we received another response by Eugene D, blaming the situation on the new parts. While trying to defend his work he admitted that they knew the product we had bought from Lowe’s was not good and wouldn’t last, but since we didn’t ask, they installed it anyway. This of course gives them the chance to charge us again for the same project. In my experience, this is not someone who will partner with you when/if anything goes wrong.

Fair warning: it seems most of the glowing feedback on here is immediately after the project and not months later…

I thought it was starting off well when I received a call from the plumber saying he could come an hour early. (Yay, I thought) Then he started complaining about DTR parking. He said he hates jobs DTR. When I met him outside, he told me that he parked in a loading zone at the corner. I talked with him about the parking garage next door and the meters out front. He said hopefully it won't be towed. On the way up to the condo, I told him that strange enough the toilet wasn't running today. (I had turned to water to it off and when I turned it back on to prepare for their visit- it didn't keep running. It sounded fine. (odd ??- how did that happen? ) He was also looking at the kitchen sink which had seemed to have some grease like stuff under the sink. When he was going back out for supplies, I handed him a couple of bucks for parking. He asked if the meters will take the cash. I told him no, but the parking garage right next door does. He told me that his truck is 9ft tall and can't fit in the garage. I told him that the meters take credit cards. He wasn't going to bother moving the truck. I told him that I'd get my Cc and pay for it because I didn't want him to risk having the truck towed. He asked me if I was going down with him. I told him that I'd be down by the time he got the truck. I went back down and paid for the parking. He told me that the toilet still needed the inside piece rebuilt even though it wasn't running. He said, see how high the water level in the tank is. I asked if there was a screw or something that could adjust the floater (Idk-that is what I call it) piece. He said um...uh, yes but it still needs to be replaced. I told him to just go ahead and do it. He was ready to leave about 15 minutes later, I was shocked when he told me it was $200 to place the toilet piece. I literally was so shocked that I started shaking.I told him that if he had told me that I would not be shaking from the shock of it and I certainly would have just had the whole toilet replaced because I always hated it. (I always wanted to replace it but wasn't going to to waste money replacing a working toilet.) I'd rather have spent $500 on a new toilet and had a pretty new one! I called to let them know that I was shocked! The story about service call charges and per job changed with the plumber and during the call. (Service calls are now 200/ rebuild is always $195, etc).
Either way, $200 to rebuild is crazy! I agree with other reviews that say get them to email you regarding prices before you set an appointment!! Oh, and when I called after to let them know I was shocked, they even stated that plumbers need to be paid for their work . Seriously insulting!!! I not only want to pay for work that i have done- I saved them them cost and trouble of a tow! (Yes, DTR will tow if you park illegally!) (I can't comment on their actual work because they were just here today.) Shocked and sad to need to find a new plumber. :(

I saw a couple of reviews on nextdoor and needed an outside faucet replaced so I called Glen at Westover Plumbing. They had someone nearby and came over same day! Fixed my problem for me no problems and diagnosed and fixed another small thing for me for free. Great customer service and neat and clean, nice work! I will use them again !

Jason from 3rd Generation Plumbing went above and beyond to install our kitchen sink and faucet after the big name retailer (no names mentioned, rhymes with woes) we paid to install them proceeded to bungle the process for two months. He persisted in following up with said retailer and kept us informed, even while he was on vacation. Then when he was finally cleared to install the sink, he discovered that the DIY countertop tile job by the former homeowners was overextended and required additional work to trim away before the sink would fit. He dealt with this as well despite the extra time and effort involved. Final result looks great and we are very happy with it. Throughout the process Jason was courteous, helpful, and professional. We highly recommend this business and plan to use them again in the future.

Great technician. I would highly recommend him. Easy booking. They gave a 4 hour window of service and still missed it by 2 hours. They called after missing the scheduled service window and offered to reschedule but if you wait that long you want your service. I would encourage others to shop around for more timely providers.

Linwood Mosly was the Newcomb serviceman that came to my house. He was right on time and provided excellent service. I am considering replacing some of my toilets and Linwood took stock of the three toilets and advised me on estimated installation costs and also some other details and advice on what to order, etc. He also took care of a minor problem I was having with one of the toilets.
