Eugene is absolutely wonderful. I have contacted him on numerous occasions. One call was so minor, to him, that he didn’t even charge me. Once, I had a plumbing emergency late in the day and he made sure to fit me in his schedule to make the necessary repairs. Always professional and very knowledgeable with plumbing issues. Very reliable, if he says he’s coming, he’ll be there. Took the time to explain the problem. Cleaned up after his work. Prices are more than fair. He’s the best!

Eugene was a pleasure to deal with. He allowed me to send him photos of the job and provided timely and reasonable estimates for the job. He communicated efficiently, offered several approaches to solving the plumbing problem and allowed me to make a decision on which solution worked best for me. He arrived promptly and he and his colleague, Dennis, got to work quickly. They replaced a faucet in the master shower, which involved cutting a hole in the wall to access and replace the 21 year old valve. They also patched the drywall to a rough finish. While he was here, I mentioned two other plumbing projects I had on the back burner and he offered to take care of them all for a reasonable additional fee. He installed a new outside faucet and also adjusted the water pressure and checked the expansion tank of the hot water heater. Eugene explained everything he was doing was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend The Art of Plumbing.

I'm really lucky I've discovered the Art of Plumbing team here in Raleigh. It's so difficult to find a real experienced and responsible plumber here in the area. We had a lot to do in our old house kitchen (instead of move-in house we accidentally bought ourselves a project last month and now all we're doing is solving problems - some of them is plumbing related). Eugene and Dan did the job professionally: precise, polite, responsible, with attention to details. Very reasonably priced. I couldn't wish for more. 5 stars, guys. Thanks a lot! Eugene was one of 3 quotes I got for a sizeable job: replacing old black ABS drain lines with new pvc fittings. His was the most reasonable of the 3 quotes. He didn't try to upsell to expand the job or sell some kind of expensive service package. He was easy to work with to set a dates. Showed up when he said he would and completed the job in one day as he said he could. I own 5 rentals and will be using him again.

We were thrilled with this company! They handled every detail of our remodeling projects on a Cary “fixed-upper” that included gutting two bathrooms, installing a new water heater, moving walls, rebuilding the foundation, adding tile work. The owners are creative, skilled, and resourceful. We were impressed with their quality standards and attention to detail. They made these projects enjoyable because they were on time, on budget, and with real craftsmanship. I recommend this company without reservation!

I had a great experience having Eugene install a pressure regulating valve, a whole house water filter, and a new water heater. He is good-natured and it is obvious that he takes pride in his work.

When I first called Eugene to get a quote for replacing our old water heater, he took the time to have a conversation with me to understand what was going on. A leaking temperature and pressure value was likely caused by overly high water pressure, and fixing the pressure should be my first priority. I decided to go ahead and replace the water heater as well, since it was over its service life, but Eugene discussed the option of waiting on that with me as well. If I had gone with the other plumbing shop that I had also contacted instead, my new water heater likely would have developed the same issue as the old one, because the root issue would not have been fixed. (And the other plumbing shop's rates were similar.)

In addition to doing top-notch work, Eugene was friendly and easy to work with. We mostly communicated via text. There was a bit of waiting to get the initial quote back, but it was worth it. I was able to get on his schedule within a week from when I had the supplies (water filter housing I was supplying). When the big day came, Eugene and his assistant worked diligently for several hours to get the job done. It turned out I should have also bought a special bracket, but Eugene found an alternative way to attach the filter housing with supplies he had on hand. Eugene also gave me some free advice about a shower drain when he was over. I hope to work with him again in the future!

My water heater was close to twenty years old and in need of replacement prior to family visiting in a few weeks. I contacted several plumbers for quotes and Eugene was one of the few to respond. He was able to replace my water heater within one day of contacting him. He was able to find a water heater to fit my existing space and his rate was reasonable. I now have a great new water heater!

Eugene and Denis are great! I'd highly recommend this company. They were quick to respond, available to work with multiple schedules and arrived 100% prepared and on time. Denis did an excellent job completely replacing our toilet with a new unit that had a different shape and was a smaller size. He was also very kind and patient. I had to take the 1st toilet I bought back to Lowes & exchange due to a crack & Denis was kind enough to wait for me. You can't find many people out there that would do that! He was very neat & cleaned up EVERYTHING. That's nearly an anomaly these days! I think he left my bathroom cleaner! Ha! My electric bill was through the roof and I realized it was my hot water heater to blame. I got quotes from four different places and the Art of Plumbing was among the lowest. I had one quote that was a little bit lower but had a good feeling about this company. I asked Eugene to match the lower quote and he was able to! Eugene and Denis came out the next day and replaced my hot water heater. It was a great experience and I would recommend The Art of Plumbing to anyone!

We had a problem with our water heater in the apartment, and initially I called a different company - which was my mistake. Not only did they give me an estimate for more than $700 to just change one part, they also couldn't find this part for a few days! Thank God, I contacted Eugene at The Art of Plumbing! He was super friendly, calm, professional and knew exactly what to do. He found the part at the online suppliers' in seconds, called the manufacturer to make sure all the technical characteristics would match and came over to fix our mixing valve very soon. It took him less than an hour, which obviously ended up costing me a few times cheaper than the other company had quoted! Also, Eugene offered a few other options for a solution, which I found very interesting! He said we could do different things with the faucets, in order to avoid ordering and changing the mixing valve itself if we wanted to cut the costs even more - there were ways to adjust every faucet separately and regulate different temperatures in the kitchen sink, bathroom, shower, etc. He suggested that this technique was often preferred and used by commercial properties where they need to reach different water temperatures and different outlets - this means Eugene is an expert in both residential AND commercial plumbing! Had a great experience with Eugene. Fast and accurate quote. He was able to get the right parts using pictures I sent so I only needed to take time off work once. Quality work and he took the time to explain why he was doing certain things, which was a big help.

Another great review for Eugene. I called him in to do annual maintenance on a tankless Rinnai water heater. He was affordable and seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy. Other companies were more expensive and not as personal.
He was not always the fastest on texting/calling back but I think that is because he is working hard! Recommended.

I called the Art of Plumbing to get a quote replacing a kitchen faucet . I already having about half a dozen quote from $80- $150. for labors only.
this guy charging $250 , I asked him why $250 ...... buyer be aware.

I’ve lived in Cary for 34 years so I’ve a lot of experience with various plumbing businesses around town. Called an obvious Cary plumbing business to have a state of the art Toto toilet installed in our guest bath. When I mentioned the water supply line might have to be moved by inches to provide clearance for the toilet, they told me they don’t do that kind of work and to hire a contractor. Not much help! So I called The Art of Plumbing and over the phone after a pic, Eugene figured out that the water supplies valve could be offset without touching dry wall. My fault that I had lost the rough-in pipe for the toilet but Eugene persevered and finally got the part from Japan. He sent Stephan, a master plumber from Ukraine, to do the installation and it was done quickly and correctly. These guys truly know their business and have a wealth of experience.

Had an outstanding experience with Eugene. He is knowledgeable, skillful, equiped well, great at communication and troubleshooting. He was on time and did a quality job on faucets and valves in my house. He also adjusted expansion tank pressure accordingly to the pressure in the system. We had a leak under kitchen sink. Eugene came promptly and diagnosed problem quickly. He made necessary repairs and we were back up and running in no time. His fee was very responsible. Highly recommend.

tl;dr: Absolutely satisfied! Don't let the all-five-star-reviews worry you. These guys deserve it.

I wanted a new water heater to replace my aging one. It was going to be a challenge since it is nestled in a very tight space and there is no place else to put it. I used Yahoo's request a quote feature and contacted five plumbers. Three never contacted me back. One gave me a quote on a larger unit that probably wasn't going to fit so, we might have to build out a bit. But Eugene at The Art of Plumbing got back to me the very next morning. He asked me for some measurements and posed a few questions, and then came back with a quote that was half of what I was anticipating having to pay.

I was skeptical since it seemed too good to be true. A low price, and he was able to get a replacement for my rather oddly-sized and oddly-configured water heater? But he did. He found the exact same model, brand new and not refurbished. As soon as I was ready for the installation he was too. He and his associate put down heavy tarps to protect the floor as the new heater was wheeled in, installed it in a matter of a few hours, cleaned up all of the mess, stayed long enough to make sure it was working properly, and then charged me exactly what he had quoted. They were even proud enough of their work to sign it.

The new heater works perfectly -- even better than the old one, in fact, since the setting is lower but the water is still just as hot. Hopefully I will not need any plumbing work in the future, but if I do, I know who I'm calling.

I had an intermittent hot water heater issue. The unit is a good one, but it is ten years old. Instead of insisting that the unit be replaced (since the normal lifespan of a water heater is pretty much 8 to 15 years), Eugene discussed options with me. We decided to just replace the thermocouple and clean up the burner.

He charged me a reasonable amount and said that if this did not correct the problem that he would give me a discount on a new hot water heater. He also helped me flush the hot water heater as he replaced the part. He even followed up via a text message when I had a question after he was here.

We got a leak in a master shower to take care of. Instead of using our regular plumbing company which went downhill in terms of quality of repairs and prices we called Eugene. He quickly identified a root cause of an issue and fixed it by replacing a master shower valve and a trim. A repair required opening of the drywall and copper piping work. After replacing a valve and testing everything Eugene closed a drywall and patched it properly, which is very nice! In addition we asked Eugene to replace a master tub faucet. We are very happy with quality of the work, communication and prices. It is rather difficult to find a plumber you can trust, but Eugene is certainly the one we would highly recommend. We will be happy to use his services again.

Daniel was my tech and he called when he was on his way and I couldn't have asked for more professionalism. He was knowledgeable and practical. Overall great experience with The Art of Plumbing. From diagnostic to problem solving to finishing, the job was done right and on time. Eugene took the time to explain the issues and what options were available. In the end, our problems were solved and we now have a plumber in the area we can trust for quality and service.

We have a leak in a bathroom sink which Eugene D via Daniel “repaired” 8 months ago. Brand new parts were purchased and they installed.

The entire assembly came apart this week and water was leaking worse than before. Eugene’s response was to share that we were way past their labor warranty and offered an even higher price to come out and fix again showing no concern for what seems to be poor workmanship the first time.

I was persuaded by all the great comments here to use this outfit. Would you expect a sink with new parts installed to work longer than 8 months? I do!

Edit as of 8/17: we received another response by Eugene D, blaming the situation on the new parts. While trying to defend his work he admitted that they knew the product we had bought from Lowe’s was not good and wouldn’t last, but since we didn’t ask, they installed it anyway. This of course gives them the chance to charge us again for the same project. In my experience, this is not someone who will partner with you when/if anything goes wrong.

Fair warning: it seems most of the glowing feedback on here is immediately after the project and not months later…

I called this company to come out and replace some bibs and run a new one to the back of my house. Also to replace a pressure valve. They did a fantastic job in a timely manner. Very professional and courteous. I’m definitely calling them back for future work and recommend them to family and friends.
