We had to have a water heater replaced today in a very unexpected manner. From the initial phone call this morning at 8AM to the completed job this afternoon, we were pleased to be treated to professional and courteous service.The young lady on the phone this morning worked hard to squeeze us in for a check into our system, and when Tom arrived promptly at 9:30AM, he confirmed what I knew to be true, that our 25 year old water heater was in desperate need of replacement. I had already resigned myself to the expense, and while I spent a little more than I had hoped, I got a screaming good deal on a 40 gallon tank. The Aksarben team then set to work to ensure that we could somehow fit into their schedule same day since I had already taken the day off to get this issue resolved.I would not be disappointed, and Phil showed up this afternoon and set to work. Before I knew it, the old unit was summarily drained, disconnected and removed. I like to watch the work as it unfolds as a bit of a do-it-yourself type who learned form experience when the job is bigger than I am. Phil was never uncomfortable with me watching, asking a few questions, and just being there. I learned a ton just from watching him go about his work.It's always a treat to watch a real artist at their trade. Phil was definitely an artist and set to resolving the copper pipe issues with the unique setup that exists in the basement of our 116 year old home. By the time he was finished, he had somehow pulled off what I didn't think was possible. I expected some of the lines to require re-routing with the larger sizes of the new water heater, and it was a satisfying moment for me when I realized he pulled off everything without requiring any extraneous lines.I also got to talk with Phil about frequency of draining, and potential service with the unit we elected to purchase. He took his time and went over things with me, not once minding my questions while he was skillfully going about his installation.And with all that said, the job was done super fast. I told my wife, this is something I probably could have done as a do-it-yourself type guy with about 12 hours and a dozen tips back and forth to the hardware store. Still I expected a lengthy job of 3 to 4 hours, but a short 2 hours in, we were turning the water back on and firing things up. Phil made it look easy, and confirmed exactly why you call in a professional to get the job done right the first time!Nothing short of amazing service and I couldn't be happier. It may have been a bit of an expensive repair, but you even made that palatable. Thanks to the Aksarben team for an unparalleled customer experience. Cliff G was very efficient. He was here about 45 minutes. He was personable. He also hose off my air conditioner.12/7/2016Cliff G was on time. He replaced the furnace filter and he checked the furnace. His office gave him the wrong humidifier filter so someone will have to visit a second time to replace the humidifier filter. I am happy with the service.
