I have used Budiac many times over the past 10 years or so for jobs in my own home as well as my children's homes. From replacing frozen pipes to installing a water heater, toilet and installing new fixtures in a basement bathroom - all the work was done professionally, on time and within budget. Alpine Plumbing was the contractor for our new house built in 2017. Two months ago (summer 2020) we had a leak in our basement. The valve that controls the flow from the main water line had cracked, and the crack was below the shutoff valve so we couldn't shutoff the leak. This is a thick solid brass piece and we were very surprised to see that it cracked. The plumber that came out to fix it (not Alpine as we did not know who did our plumbing at the time) said the crack occurred because it was tightened too much. This is a house 2.5 years old and we had a leak in our basement because of a bad install by Alpine. I contacted Alpine via their web form to complain and try and get reimbursed and received a call back shortly later, but I wasn't able to answer the phone. I tried calling back twice and was never able to get ahold of someone. Alpine did not try to contact me further, via phone or email. At the least they should have followed up via email when I didn't answer the phone the one time they called.

I do not recommend this business as they are obviously inexperienced and have poor communication.

UPDATE: Had a second cracked fitting that was also due to over-tightening!

My husband and I hired Borth-Wilson for a water heater repair, and couldn't be happier with the service and final cost. The plumber arrived on time, worked quickly and left a beautiful finished product. We recommend BW to everyone looking for a plumber now!

After a call for help due to the previous owner’s lack of skills, Peder saved the day by installing a sump pump and repiping all kinds of wrong while at it. He also installed a ‘bitch of a toilet’ in the 2nd floor bathroom. A fifth star would have been earned if he had followed up on my quest for a new kitchen faucet. Perhaps that will happen now.

On April 24th,2023 i hired PJ's plumbing to unclog my sewer lateral that drains into the city sewer line. I attempted to clear the line myself prior to hiring them and was able to get a rooter all the way into the city line, but was unable to obtain proper flowage. The kids that were sent out to do the work were unable to get a rooter more then 15ft into the drain before giving up. They also attempted to push a camera and a jetter in, but had absolutely no success. One of the two plumbers returned to the shop after that to get a pump while his coworker and i sat and waited for 60-90min. The pump ended up not helping at all. After failing to clear my drain one of the plumbers informed me that he would be putting it down as 2 hours of labor and i agreed to sign for that amount of time. The tablet that i was presented to sign on had nothing but a blank screen for my signature so i signed. When i had first called PJ's office i explained what my situation was and asked their hourly rate. I was told they charged $160/hr. Unfortunately when i received my invoice the following day i had been charged a total of $627.90 which is a rate of $299/hr. On April 25th i hired a different plumber to clear my drain, who was able to complete the work within 30min having no issues. I called the owner of PJ's on April 26th to explain my issues with the work that was not completed, and that another plumber was able to complete the task in a timely manner without issue (Cox Plumbing). I also explained that i was told the labor rate was $160/hr and that the $627.90 bill was too much for a job that was not accomplished. I offered to pay him $350 which would cover the rate i originally agreed to. He was not willing to negotiate with me at all and informed me that if i did not pay the full amount he would put a lean on my house. I received paper work from PJ's plumbing 3 days later informing me of their intent to put a lean on my house. I believe that his plumbers were not properly trained to complete the job and did not have the right equipment. They did not complete the job that i hired them to do and are attempting to charge me more than the agreed upon amount. I am still willing to pay $350 but i believe that Paul has some extremely shady business practices and should not be paid a premium amount for a job that was not accomplished.

Chris is a steady worker, keeping us informed of his work progress. He replaced a hot water exhaust pipe and installed a new outside faucet. Both were improvements on originals! A friendly, respectful person.

Learned a lot about plumbing outstanding company will go through again!!
