Misleading about their massive fees and billing procedures; unprofessional office staff.Called them to come give me a quote for the repair of a commercial water heater and their response time sounded good. When they came out I was told that the Evaluation Service Fee, was 255$, regardless of how simple the issue is. Sounded excessive, but since that usually comes with the work, I said ok. Their technician Dominic was good with his work, etc. He was able to fix the problem (even with a few complications, i.e. blew one of our fuses touching two leads together so had to run and get more; needed a tool he didn't have on his van so had to run get it, etc.). So after the work, he said that his supervisor would not let him invoice me, which is somewhat unusual as well (and would have been nice to know upfront). Of course you try to work with everyone you want to continue doing business with, so complied in good faith. Well after paying, realized that I had been charged the full amount of the repair and then also the service fee. Since usually if I bid out a job to a company, on giving them the job they include that in the cost for the work. Maybe an oversight. Called their office and spoke with their Office Manager Jennifer, who when asked about it made it clear that she felt I was attempting to not pay them for the work done. I apologized and told her that I would like to keep doing business with them, but that the usual was to include a Service Call fee within the cost of the payment for providing the business. She was very clear that they did not feel they needed our business. Did not want to even let me speak to someone else, said I would have to schedule a call. No wonder they did not want to invoice me. Well point taken. I'll never work with this company again. If you are with the company reading this; please make sure that if you are going to charge an excessive service fee and not include it with the work (as is a standard in the industry) that you are making that explicit to the person who is paying.Misleading customers is unethical, and not very good business.

Brian from Dayton Services came out for a quote on a new AC system and was fair and knowledgeable. The quote was competitive plus offers a better warranty than others. We look forward to our new install from Dayton Services.

Stan's will always be our choice for any/all HVAC services. Not only did they work with our builder to complete the initial install of our system, they continue to deliver extraordinary service and quality whenever we need their help. Did I mention how incredible their technicians are? Our recent visit was with Christopher McGrath and I just can't say enough how GREAT he was. All due respect to the other service providers in the Austin area, but Stan's is our go-to!

Our furnace stopped working on Sunday morning and I called Turbo and they were out the same day to take a look at the problem. Jay explained the problem thoroughly and offered to try and find parts for our ancient furnace without trying to sell us on a new one. Replacing was the way to go for us, however, and Turbo was able to bring and install a new one the next day. We were very impressed with the speed of their service and the price was reasonable. They cleaned up the work site afterwards, were polite and communicated everything well. If I had to ask for one improvement, it would be stricter Covid protocols, as I had to ask a few guys to wear masks in the house. Otherwise, great service and we would be happy to use Turbo again.

I called this company for an emergency repair last summer. I was pleased with the experience and had them send a sales rep out to give me a quote to replace the system since it was on the older side and likely to break again. We ended up deciding to hold off and 9 months later reached back out to explore replacement again. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning (today was Thursday) and let my tenants know that someone would be coming. I gave explicit instruction to call me to discuss the quote and not speak to my tenants about it. 2 hours later, I received a text message that someone was on the way. I was confused, as it was Thursday and I had set up an appointment for Saturday, so I immediately called to cancel. The company assured me they had contacted the sales rep and called off the appointment and apologized for the confusion. 20 minutes later, I got a text from my tenant that the sales rep was there. I was furious at the disorganization of the company but my tenants decided to just let them do the quote since they were not busy. The sales rep proceeded to walk my tenants around the property and point out all of the “flaws” of my current system. He never called me until after he had already left the home. His quote was over $7000 more than I was quoted 9 months prior. His rationale for this was “inflation.” It was also a 1 year newer model of the same system which meant it had better SEER. I asked what that meant and he responded that it was hard to explain but it just meant it works better. After I expressed my displeasure, he knocked thousands of dollars off of the quote in a matter of minutes which solidified my distrust. I decided to get a quote from another company and was quoted a price lower then ARS gave me 9 months ago and nearly $8000 lower than my new quote from ARS. I would steer clear from this shady company.

The folks at Efficient AC were extremely diligent and knowledgeable in finding a thermostat controller to work with my Carrier mini split ducted system. James, Arthur, Robert and the entire office staff were on top of it. I have never been so pleased with an a/c fix. I would definitely recommend Efficient and will be using them in the future.

We had a plumbing issue under the foundation. We found Mr. McGinnis Plumbing Company on the Angie’s list. Mr. McGinnis were extremely professional and knowledgeable to diagnose the location of the plumbing issues. He had his crew came out to dig under the foundation to do the repair and it was fixed in few days. I definitely would recommend them to anyone.

I signed up in the fall of last year. I had the fall maintenance which was great, they cleaned out things I would not have even known to check. Recently we had some items that needed attention. I contacted them and our home manager Homer came over and repaired grout in a bathroom, fixed a window seal, fixed a bathroom vent and offered solutions for some doors that needed repair. I strongly recommend PreFix, it will be well worth your money and time.
