Sergio feels like a part of the family. He is personable, professional, and peaceful. My wife has a much better peace of mind knowing that our house will be taken care better than I can by ourselves (and so am I). We normally wait around the calendar for family or friends with know-how to show up to do things beyond my competence, but it feels way better to know we have a neighbor close, when our brother is far away. We left our visit excited (and relieved) for our next PreFix visit.

We have been using PreFix for approximately 18 months and have been very pleased with their services. They complete routine maintenance every 6 months and then if there are any issues, they offer to assist with taking care of those as well. We have had to use some of their contract services for items that they found, and they are always on time and efficient as well. I highly recommend PreFix.
Where to begin, on paper this company creates the perception they do quite a lot. However, you are at the mercy of whichever Home Mgr. shows up.The two plus years I conducted business with Prefix I had multiple issues that to their credit sent people back to resolve the issue. Not ideal to have to schedule multiple appointments because their Home Mgr. broke something.Prefix partners with third parties to do anything outside of the preventative maintenance. I made the poor choice to use them for an AC issue I experienced. The individual that showed up to my house had less than professional attire and proceeded to charge me close to $200 for a new capacitor. AC capacitors cost $13. I was working when the individual changed the capacitor and did not know this was happening until after the fact. Shady.The most critical piece of advice I caution anyone who may be interested to start business with Prefix is to document EVERYTHING. During my last and final preventive maintenance the Home Mgr. broke my water filter by ripping it out that resulted in the plastic piece that holds the water filter in place to get stuck, which required me to have to move my fridge, turn the water off, empty my fridge, unscrew the entire water filter, remove the plastic piece, dissemble, reassemble, screw back in, turn the water back on, move the fridge, and place food items back in the fridge.During the same preventative maintenance, which again, was my last and FINAL, the House Mgr. broke my smoke detector that resulted in causing it to continuously beep.Here is the kicker, James Horton title as Central Operations Mgr. had the audacity to send me an email placing the blame on me.The economy is heading to be what looks to be a significant recession, services like Prefix are typically the first to be cut in household budgets. Good luck to whoever owns Prefix when you have managers who blame paying customers for issues you create.To the owners of Prefix, I actually requested the service to be cancelled after my last preventive maintenance but Sergio was so great at fixing the smoke detector issue that I gave you all a second chance.However, the email I received from James placing blame on me 100% proved me right that severing my business with Prefix is absolutely necessary.
Sergio, my home manager, is always super communicative, efficient, friendly, and focused on the long-term view of home care, explaining what he’ll be doing, how to prevent issues, and brands he trusts.And prefix, y’all make it super easy, with text messaging, predictable service fees, and DIY scheduling. There’s a monthly membership fee, but that comes close to breaking even with what my recurring tankless water heater flush would cost with another contractor, and is included with their preventative care.Mostly? It’s just great to not have to wonder which contractor I’d contact for what maintenance service I’d need, who will come (it’s mostly my same guy), and no phone tag for scheduling. Highly recommend.

Update: Scheduling issues seem to be getting worse. They keep forgetting about appointments and wasting customers time.The service is good in theory, but in practice their execution leaves much to be desired. I mostly wanted the service for convenience, but sometimes it's more of a headache than it is worth. I've had an electrical issue that needs to be fixed that is going on 5 months. I asked them to help me setup an appointment for vent cleaning, their contractor never once bothered to get in contact. Them sub-contracting things out is a horrible idea and usually results in them being a middle man for sub-par contractors. If you have anything outside small issues, you're better off calling a contract of your choice, yourself. Window repair also took months to do in the past, everything they do is a snails pace. I am a believer in the idea of their service, as I've referred multiple people in the past, but I'm constantly asking myself is it worth the monthly fee (which scales to house size) and the answer is increasingly looking like no. They also seem to be growing faster than they can handle. Scheduling a small maintenance takes over a month now and they just messed up scheduling, so mine is being pushed out another month. I would seriously considering just finding a handyman you can pay per visit as opposed to a monthly service, it just isn't worth it.
I was so excited to hire Prefix because I thought it would save me time researching contractors and dealing with home maintenance admin work. Instead, I'm spending time on follow up calls & emails to Prefix--which basically defeats the purpose. Everyone is nice and friendly, but the operations and customer service is an utter nightmare. This business has some serious issues. There have been 8+ instances where they've dropped the ball or messed something up.For one, they'd leave and say, We'll call you to get XYZ service scheduled, and after like 4 days, I call them and say, Hey no one ever called me, and they swear they'll have someone call right away, but still nothing.I had significant trouble withe the HVAC group last year. One time, they showed up at the wrong time while I had important meetings. One time, they mixed up which service they were supposed to perform. One time, they never sent a service summary afterwards.One time my toilet started running and tub started leaking right after the preventative visit. Might have been coincidence, but the timing sure felt like they messed something up. And I had to pay them to fix it.Now, it's the Carpentry group I'm struggling with. I've been trying to get some exterior siding work done for almost 6 weeks. First off I asked the guy to help me find additional areas that needed repairs and he didn't even notice 3 areas of damage a raccoon had recently made, so I had to get him to come back out once I noticed those. Also, it took over a week to get me a quote that made no sense and wasn't line itemed as requested. Then the follow up over that took another week or two. Then when he came back out, I've now been waiting on the updated quote for over 2 more weeks. I just want this project to start!Also they have a new policy where they charge you to schedule a time for someone to come out and give you a quote. If you want a free quote, you have to be available with only 30 minutes notice whenever they happen to get to it. I'm sorry, but the whole reason I use this service is for convenience--because I'm a busy person and don't have time to just be available whenever. Yet everything with this company is inconvenient.I've given them the benefit of the doubt time and time again. I've been patient for a really long time hoping their growing pains would improve because I believed in them and their business model. Sadly, it's just not getting better. But I haven't had time to find an alternative.

We have used PreFix for several years now to help with both preventive and ongoing maintenance, and we have had an excellent experience with them. For the projects they have not been able to do themselves, they have referred us to great pros, who have also done a really good job. We are particularly grateful to Sergio, who is assigned to us, who can fix almost anything, who is very responsive, and who is a pleasure to interact with!

We had a water leak in our master shower and PreFix was able to send a technician by the following day. Rodney the technician took the liberty of buying the necessary brand specific parts based on the photo I had provided. He even texted me when he was in route. When he arrived he was professional and courteous and walked me through the issue. He even gave me pointers on how to fix the problem if it happens again. From start to finish, about 30 to 40 minutes to replace cartridge for leaky shower faucet. Very impressed by the level of service. We highly recommend Rodney! Thank you Rodney for the A+ service!

Terrible customer service and experience. Several services were incomplete and had to chase down customer service to get rescheduled or completed! Most recently requested hvac drain to be rerouted but only ended up with a $200 charge after two service calls for &79 and a coupleFloat switched installed. Drain is still leaking from side of house. Not worth the headache

I've been with PreFix for quite a while now, and it's wonderful. Every PreFix person who has worked at my house - putting up blinds, fixing plumbing problems, installing ceiling fans and lights, putting furniture together, doing maintenance checks, and more - has been excellent. Knowing that I can trust PreFix to help with the never-ending problems that pop up with my older house, at a reasonable and consistent cost, has given me great peace of mind. And I want to thank Sergio, who came to my house late on a Friday afternoon to fix a plumbing problem that turned out to be a cascade of problems involving aging pipes and fixtures. He told me he was staying until he fixed it all for me, and he did.
My home manager Sergio is simply awesome! He just fixed my washer and a light fixture with ingenuity and without costing me an additional cent. I highly recommend Prefix, but you can’t all have Sergio !
We’ve been PreFix customers for over a year now and are huge fans! They’ve done an outstanding job with all of our home repair and handy person requests especially our home manager, Sergio. Not only is Sergio very professional, friendly and great at what he does but he is also extremely knowledgeable!A few months ago, we had to have a plumber come out to help resolve a larger issue. Sergio troubleshooted the issue, fixed as much as he could, and then Prefix coordinated a plumber to come out on the same day. It was seamless and stress free experience for a stressful plumbing issue.As a first time homeowner, knowing that we can contact Prefix for home maintenance or repairs, relieves our stress and anxiety!I can’t recommend them enough!!

They have been a lifesaver for me. The twice yearly maintenance inspections, including replacement filters, more than pay for the monthly charge. They are very reasonable for handy jobs, and what they can't do, their subcontractors can, and at a discount. I love all their technicians, especially Alex and Chase.
Our first visit today from Sergio was just beyond excellent. He was very straightforward and clear about services, options, pricing, and processes. The work he did for us today was fast but thorough, and his explanations of what he did and what other options we might have made us secure in our choice of PreFix and confident that we can trust Sergio and PreFix in general to handle our maintenance needs in the most efficient and effective way possible. We couldn't be happier about our decision to use the services of Pre-Fix.

On a lovely Wednesday evening during the heat apocalypse of 2022 our HVAC blower motor decided to retire. I call one of the often advertised air conditioning services, they sent a tech who took nearly a hundred dollars said I would hear back shortly. They called back the following Monday afternoon. On Saturday I called another widely known service, their tech came, looked, and said my system was too old (17) and could not get parts. On Sunday night I sought a referral from Rheem online. PreFix responded.On Monday morning Nathan Harris, HVAC Service Manager for PreFix arrived. I know many will be skeptical but on my honor this is true, he carried with him to the attic a bucket, yes bucket, of tools (not as others who used just a flashlight and tablet for processing credit cards.) I followed to the attic, wondering just what an HVAC tech would do with all those tools, well Mr. Harris opened panels poked prodded and tested here and there, then will the skill of a brain surgeon he reached into the fan wheel and extracted a very substantial piece of debris that had been lodged in the fan causing friction and strain on the blower motor. He left and returned after fighting his way through Floods and traffic with a new motor and working tirelessly by 6:50PM we had air conditioning. Myself, over 70 and my spouse not over 70, were ecstatic.I cannot adequately describe because 5 stars is not enough, was it cheap ...No....but it was a fair price and it was earned. Any amount charged by folks who do nothing is too expensive, PreFix earns their fees. My highest recommendation to Mr. Harris and PreFixThank you Nathan Harris, I suspect he had a suit with a big S and a cape in his vehicle, he sure does in our hearts.
I’ve used Prefix for years and they are amazing - they take all the frustration of getting home repairs and maintenance off my plate, it’s such a relief to have them there. Most recently, I had a washing machine repair at a rental property. Sergio got me updates quickly, cost estimates and even completed the repair more quickly than estimated! Cannot recommend them enough!

I signed up for PreFix a couple of weeks ago, and it's been amazing. My home manager is Sergio, whose emphasis on customer service and excellent handyman skills made my day! It's such a relief to have these little things around the house taken care of. The in-house carpenter, Phil, is able to repair my fence, rather than replace it, which is such a relief to me! Both these guys are knowledgeable, and have great hearts, which makes Prefix the kind of business that you want to engage with. It's wonderful to have one place to turn to for all my home-related needs. I can't wait for my bi-annual service call next week! Thanks PreFix!

Our first experience with Prefix has been exceptional! Sergio turned up on time with a warm smile and professional nature. In the 2 hours he was here he fixed our leaking toilet, installed some under cabinet lighting, patched several holes and cracks in our walls and fixed our microwave! We really love Prefix already and we're looking forward to their next visit.

It’s great having PreFix take care of our house. No matter what the problem is they can handle it. I’m saving a lot of money by using them and they are always there to help. Sergio has been super! He goes the extra mile to make sure we are taken care of. I sleep better at night knowing PreFix is on the job.
I just started my contract with Prefix. They are affordable, polite, knowledgeable and professional. They sent Sergio Masaya to my home to do repairs. He fixed 5 things in about 1.5 hours including a loose leaky sink, a doorbell that would not ring, and a door that would not shut. He also provided a little home fixit sage advice. I highly recommend!!!

We've had Pre-Fix for our home about three years and it is very reassuring to have experts one can call on a moment's notice. They have done many jobs at the house--weather stripping, replacing grout, fixing dishwasher gasket, recommending house painters, recommending tile repair folks. We've always been happy with those results. Sergio is our new home manager and was quick to fix our washing machine when another tech inadvertently broke the timing mechanism when doing routine maintenance. Pre-Fix took responsibility, Wayne came immediately to investigate on a weekend, and then Sergio came on a holiday to begin the repair. He communicated clearly throughout the process, and even fixed our dryer handle-which had been broken since before we moved into the home--in the process. No one in my family is skilled at home repair and we are grateful for this service!
??Oh my! This is simply awesome! Sergio came and took care of all my household maintenance and service and in 3 hours accomplished so much- cleaning the tub, sink drains. Fixed locks, fixed the shower-heads, installed my kitchen lights andto add the ? hose holder for front yard and loving my dog Chanel plus friendly with family. He is simply fabulous! I heard about PreFix by getting an advertisement mailer. I went to the website to check what they were all about and was amazed at the concept and business plan. After the introduction call from Dean, I signed up the same day.My first job for them was to replace a faulty Garbage disposal and all the pvc piping under my sink. I was able to get an appointment in less than week. Sergio did a super job and completed it all in less than 2 hours. I will never go back to one of the so called expert home repair companies I've used over the years. I would have paid more than double the price for the same job if not for PreFix. Our experience:As new home owners we thought this would be a smart decision to learn about how to better take care of your house.The technician we met was nice-enough, but by his own admission he was still in training. That's fine for a first intro visit, but when it came time to actually servicing the house it was still only the trainee with no supervisor. He wasn't able to even change the filter in our refrigerator and instead left a pool of water on our kitchen floor that he and I had to clean up for the remainder of the visit.Since his supervisor didn't want to come to our house either (Friday at 3pm so he was done for the week, I guess) the trainee just left without actually servicing the house. Promised to come back, but after a few weeks we decided to cancel.If this was the end of our experience I wouldn't be leaving a review. Things can be a bad fit and you can still move on amicably.BUT when we cancel our service and you continue to charge our credit card that's a different story. First time, I let it slide, but you clearly are not actually closing out the account and are trying to charge our card without me noticing.All in all, very shady experience. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Our shower handle went out this morning and water was pouring from the spout with no chance of stopping on its own. My husband and I even tried to use a wrench to tweak it... to no avail. We live in North Austin and especially with the recent winter storm plumbers and supplies have been scarce. I was worried we would have to turn off our water until tomorrow, waiting for the first available plumber but thank goodness for PreFix! They managed to come SAMEDAY within and hour of us calling! Initially they said they wouldn't be able to send someone out until tomorrow but they underpromised and over delivered!Our rep Zack was awesome! He was friendly, professional and went above and beyond to fix our issue. He even went to the store to look for the necessary parts to fix the issue. He was very personable and became friends with all of the cats in the house haha! We would absolutely recommend this company's services!

I really can’t say enough good things about my experience with Prefix and in particular our experience with Aaron! To begin Aaron first came to check out our newly bought home, changed all the filters and helped us with some questions we’ve had. So far we’ve asked him to come out about once a month since then to work on electrical projects amongst many other small things and he’s done them amazingly. I’ve probably saved hundreds of dollars if I would have had to gotten an electrician or pay other specialists. He even recently helped save our furniture piece that we thought we had to replace. Being a new mom (that works full time) in a new home he’s truly been a life savor and we enjoy when he comes over to work on things.

I don't know how I was ever a homeowner before PreFix! The twice-a-year home maintenance check ups give me such peace of mind that I'm doing everything I can to keep my home in good shape. I have had several service calls as well, and the team members are knowledgeable, prompt, efficient, and service-oriented. They have helped me become aware of issues I didn't know I had, and they quickly resolve the ones I do. If they don't immediately know how to solve a problem, they actually do the research and get back to you - no need to hunt them down like other home maintenance providers. I am so grateful to be a PreFix customer! The monthly fee is nominal and honestly a no-brainer for everything we get.

I am a realtor who has always (over) paid for a home warranty and encouraged my clients to do the same, until this year. The two seasonal preventative maintenances with PreFix are ideal to keep your home in tip-top shape. The services included in the preventative maintenance often go overlooked for years (hello blowing out your dryer vents) and then usually pop up on home inspections when you go to sell. This is a great way to put basic, inconvenient home maintenance on autopilot. The water and air filters they change for you and are included, and essentially pay for PreFix for the year.Prefix is not only an incredible value, but the maintenance technicians are highly professional and knowledgable - Wayne was awesome when he came to our home. He was an excellent consultant on how to maintain the nuances of our home and balanced premium service with COVID restrictions excellently. Thanks Wayne!

As first-time homeowners, PreFix has been a tremendous help for us with matters large and small for several years now. Homer is an outstanding Home Manager and we have gotten great help as needed from other talented folks on their team, as well as referrals to recommended contractors for HVAC, plumbing and other fields. PreFix is an outstanding service, highly recommended.
I signed up in the fall of last year. I had the fall maintenance which was great, they cleaned out things I would not have even known to check. Recently we had some items that needed attention. I contacted them and our home manager Homer came over and repaired grout in a bathroom, fixed a window seal, fixed a bathroom vent and offered solutions for some doors that needed repair. I strongly recommend PreFix, it will be well worth your money and time.

Started off great. Responsive and easy and first maintenance was a pleasure. Then they went downhill. Several emails and calls to schedule the followup repairs went unanswered before we finally got a response. Our home manager appears to no longer be with the company and I have no idea who our new one is. Followup repairs were finally started by a gentleman who was nice enough but clearly didn’t know what he was doing. He didn’t finish and was supposed to return within 7-10 days. That was in early February. It is now late April and we still haven’t heard. Once again I am chasing them down. I so wanted this to be everything they promised but it seems to be just another unreliable service whose monthly charges continue to increase while their customer experience goes downhill.
I have been a Prefix member for the last many years. They offer a unique service which helps with maintaining the home and doing repairs when needed. Everyone at Prefix from the customer service professionals to the CEO always go out of their way to help me solve issues.
Sergio replaced my kitchen faucet with no issues! He was very professional and punctual. I’m very impressed with the all customer service. Prefix is a homeowners dream.
I am a fairly new subscriber and so far PreFix has been amazing. I had a non emergency problem that happened over a holiday weekend and my home manager contacted me on a Sunday to discuss and I really felt like he had a sense of ownership over my issue. Have been working with PreFix for about 2 months now. Has been such a wonderful experience. It's nice to establish a relationship with one person who will be visiting your home to sort out a myriad of issues. We love Prefix! It makes landlording so much simpler! We make full use of the semi-annual maintenance and the on-demand repairs. Our rental property was built in 1971 and has TONS of honey-dos that we’ve “been meaning to get to.” Well for $40/hr, Prefix is getting them done ??? Plus the monthly fee covers all the regular maintenance stuff that you feel like you should do, but probably don’t ever do — service the AC, clean refrigerator coils, etc. Sergio is the best technician!
I would like to thank PreFix during this winter storm. They found us a plumber that found our leak within minutes and capped off the leak so that we could have water back in our home.Also, they sent Rodney to our home to repair a lingering water pressure problem in our Kitchen sink. He took care of this problem like he was a family member. So courteous and prompt. We so appreciate him and PreFix.
We are so pleased with Sergio! He is fast, friendly, and knows his stuff! We had the service then took a break when our budget demanded it, but we missed it and are now convinced that the monthly costs pay for themselves and help extend the life of our appliances. Thank you, Sergio!

I would like to thank PreFix and let their customers know what type of company they are. During the Covid 19 they were looking to protect their employees and customers by purchasing and wearing masks. There are plenty of people at this time making masks for profit. They however purchased from me knowing that when they bought one they were guaranteed that I would match the number they bought with an equal donation or exceed it. Thanks to PreFix I was not only able to match but exceed that donation. Today I donated to a crisis center in my town 20 masks. They were operating with zero and today are covered. I have also donated to a few elderly and handicapped because of them. It matters to this company to do the right thing to not only staff and customers but to their community as well even when they think no one will know. This is a company that truly cares. I love having Prefix take care of the maintenance of my home. I could do it, but I would rather spend my time elsewhere. My rep has also knocked out several little projects that I just never would have gotten around to. I also really love how they will refer you to a professional like a plumber if you need one. Big fan of the Prefix team and their service. Cameron has been an awesome Home Manage. He seamlessly handled a cracked window from estimate, measurement, ordering to being available to oversee installation. Anytime I've had questions or issues have come up, the team made it right. Glad to see they're growing, would strongly recommend to friends/family in other cities!

Sergio helped to correct an issue with a window in my home this morning. I am a long time PreFix customer and found Sergio to be very helpful, competent and efficient. I appreciate his responsiveness and helpfulness.
I use these guys in my home and rental properties. They have been a huge time and money saver. I no longer have any deferred maintenance at home because I am too busy and my tenants get prompt service right away rather than having to wait for me to respond to their texts and emails. As an example, one of my tenants was not reporting issues for a while as she was busy, but when I got PreFix she had 5 things fixed in one afternoon which would have normally taken three different trade pros and twice as much time and money.
Yesterday PreFix quickly diagnosed and repaired an electrical malfunction, replaced an aging GFCI outlet, left the work area clean and neat, and displayed courtesy and commitment to electrical safety and COVID-19 hygiene measures. And the cost for labor and materials was very reasonable.

This is the most awsome service. For $40 a month PreFix, Inc. takes care of everything that my house needs maintenance wise. They come buy twice a year and service you HVAC, drain your hot water heater and service washer, dryer, dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator. They supply and change all light bulbs, air filters and smoke alarm batteries. Anytime something goes wrong the are here to fix it. It is like have a repair man perpetually at the ready. They have regrouted my shower, reprogrammed the garage door opener and repaired my ice maker for an additional cost of $89. They make owning a home easy when it comes to maintenance and repair.

Love this service. Knock out my “honey do” list every month and keep all our house maintenance on reach. Very small price to pay to keep our house in tip top shape.
I just started using Pre Fix for two properties and couldn't be more pleased. Their technicians are prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to handle some repairs not on the list. I'd highly recommend them.

Nathan (HVAC) is a life saver. He is knowledgeable, approachable and took great care of explaining in what situation we were in and then fix all our AC issues
I've worked with Homer, Mathew, Tim, and others on the prefix crew. This company saves you tons of money finding small maintenance issues that can potentially turn into large headaches if not addressed. These guys are awesome!
I didn't realize how many maintenance items I was not doing, until hiring PreFix. It's great to know they're on top of it and I don't have to worry about my appliances/etc progressively going bad without me knowing.
PreFix team is responsive to my requests and asks. Their phone line is easy to get through, and their email responses are fast. Their complimentary preventative maintenance is very helpful. I recommend giving them a try!

I cannot say enough about PreFix! I am a realtor and find this an amazing tool to add to a house prior to listing it and a great add-on to ask for when representing a buyer! Finally a service that is proactive and not reactive! Way to go PreFix!
Prefix has been awesome! They keep the regular maintenance activities on track and deal with most problems before they even happen. We have been really happy with them.

You don't own a 100yo house, it owns you. PreFix manages it all, charging way too little - but don't tell them. Thanks to the team, we're going for 200 yo house.
I have been using prefix for almost an year now and they are excellent to work with. I highly recommend prefix to anyone who wants to be hands off in home maintenance.
