Got a new deck installed on the backside of my house and let me tell you I couldn't be happier with the people, service and amazingly beautiful new deck. These people are on time, professional and legit! I'm in love with my house again!

After receiving five estimates to repair and resurface the decking around my 14 year old pool, I decided to have NLKD do the job. Dave the owner came to my home and after examining my deck, gave me an estimate which was $1000.00 lower than my highest estimate. He explained what process he uses and it was the same that everyone else uses. NLKD had good reviews so I decided that I would contract with them. Dave said that when he got back to the office, he would check their calendar to see when they could start. Kelly contacted me from the office and said they could start on 9-14-22 and the job would take 2-3 days. The crew, Brandon and Angel were due to arrive between 8 & 9 on the 14th. The office contacted me on the 13th to advise me that they were running a little behind on a previous job and the crew would be at my home a couple of hours late on the 14th. ( most companies don’t let you know and leave you guessing). Anyway, they showed up at approx. 11:00 and immediately went to work. These two workers are the best that I have ever encountered. They did not waste any time getting started and had my pool bubble wrapped in no time and masked everything around the pool that could have received overspray from the process they used. On Friday, the 16th, Brandon and Angel finished my Kool Deck resurfacing and it looks better than it ever has. Brandon and Angel uncovered the pool, removed all of the masking that they had done and cleaned up any mess that they had made while completing the job. I cannot say enough good things about these two guys.
One other thing I would like to mention is the honesty and integrity of this company. When Dave examined my decking for the estimate.he found several areas where he felt that the cement was deteriorating and that those areas would require extra attention and a special coating to seal it. On the estimate this was a $300 charge. I asked Brandon how the cement looked after he finished grinding the coating off. He said that it looked fine and and didn’t feel that the special coating was going to be necessary after all. I mentioned this to Dave Sheehan, the owner, and he said that since Brandon felt that it wasn’t necessary, I had a refund of $300.00 coming back. A few days later Dave stopped by and presented me with my refund. Again, I cannot say enough good things about this company and his employees and highly recommend them to anyone that may need the type of concrete repair that they do. My experience with Sledge Concrete was excellent. They just completed a project for me and did an outstanding job. Their attention to detail was the best I have seen in my 9 years in AZ. They were very professional, friendly, and quality focused. They answered all of our questions along the way and were focused on both the job and our needs. My wife and I purchased our Home, a Midcentury Modern built in 1955 by Ralph Haver in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Home had original ungrounded wiring with exposed wire splicing. There were also two rooms that were added by a previous owner without permits.

Ultimately, we wanted to fully restore our Home to its original character, while at the same time, installing all of the safety, amenities and conveniences found in homes of new construction today.

We interviewed a handful of contactors for this task, Steve Shinn from Homework Remodels being one of them. Steve immediately stood out from the group. We found him easy to talk to, prompt and extremely knowledgeable with the historic characteristics of our Haver Home.

With Steve’s help, we nearly rebuilt most of the major components of our Home. When it was said and done, we upgraded the entire wiring and electric panel, installed new HVAC main unit and ducting lines, replaced all of the plumbing lines (both supply and drain lines including the sewer), installed LED recessed lighting throughout the Home, constructed a stem wall, a trench drain and added mini split HVAC units which the City required for issuing permits for the two unpermitted rooms, installed a 16” slider to the backyard, utilized steel beams to remove loan bearing walls in order to open up the kitchen and the living rooms, installed a tankless water heater system, applied sprayed insulation in the small attic, and performed various other upgrades.

We are very happy with Steve’s work. We found Steve’s work to be of high quality and found Steve’s expertise and creativity in helping rebuild our Haver Home to be invaluable.

We plan on hiring Steve in the near future to complete Phase 2 of our Home, which will include all of the finishes.

I wanted to convert my ugly yard with nothing but right angles to curves and organic shapes. Sean worked with me and converted my concepts and desires into reality. I wanted a curved bar and BBQ - and Mountainscapers came up with a unique design, recommending a shade structure and water feature along with lots of trees and desert tolerant plants (NO CACTUS). Sean was always creative and collaborative recommending improvements to the design and ultimately delivering an environment - no longer just a yard. It's my outside office and a space we now use 10 months out of the year.

Contracted with them multiple times and they are very good at what they do and they make everyone around them look good as well.

From the initial estimate, we were very impressed with how thoroughly the examination of the existing roof was and the completeness of the description, terminology and cost explanation were. The estimator, David, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional and had our trust immediately. He also explained we had to wait a while before they could start the job due to shipping delays for all the required new and replacement roofing supplies which we appreciated so there would be no delays once the job started. When the job started on the exact day/time scheduled, the project manager, Eddie, showed up and gave us the detailed schedule and plan. Their scheduler, Abril, kept us posted on shipping and scheduling progress. She efficiently contacted us so we never had to wonder. The crew showed up bringing all the supplies which were efficiently and quickly unloaded. They began work and continued non- stop all day except for a short break for lunch. The crew was very impressive in their speed, skill and thoroughness. The dumpster they used fit nicely next to our driveway so at no time did we have trouble get cars in or out. Small detail but important one Lyons ensured. The job was finished on time and at the price and with all details spoken of initially. There were some nice extras they do standard we noticed afterwards that really made our roof well above what we expected. From beginning to end, working with Lyons Roofing has been a professional pleasure and an amazing trust-filled experience. Their work and all their people are superior in every way. PCC Roofing did a great job! They really worked hard to get this done because my roof was leaking and it was raining. They made it a point to put me in the front of their schedule and got this done. I would highly recommend. They were very professional and did an excellent job cleaning everything up when they completed the work.
