Sledge Concrete Coatings

Great Customer service but can't say that same about their quality of work.

There are grind marks all of the patio floor that significantly visible. I have told them numerous time that this is not how it should look like.

My concerns about this were completely ignored and instead solving this problem they started sending invoices to pay for the job that was horribly done.

I'm attaching images so you can see if you would want your floor to look like this.

Sledge Concrete Coatings did a beautiful job on our epoxy floors. During the first meeting Richard was extremely helpful he answered all our questions and concerns, showed me various color options while weighing the pros and cons of every option. The installation guys were very friendly and kept in contact throughout the installation process to address any concerns.

I can't say enough about how happy we are with the work that was done. The employees showed up as scheduled and did quality work at a very reasonable price. We had our back patio and swimming pool surrounding area done with the Cooldeck and it turned out even better than we had hoped. When they left they cleaned up everything and left their work area spotless. They also take fair measurements which is just as important as their low cost per square foot charge. I would strongly recommend Sledge Concrete Coatings both for their workmanship and price.

Sledge Concrete Coatings did my front walkway and some cool deck on the back patio. They did everything they promised and were careful with my plants. I would recommend them to anyone I know. They are a local business. I support local businesses. Very fair pricing also! Makes the house look nicer.

Hired Sledge to remove tile patio and install Cool Deck. The job was to take 3 days to complete, with a 7 day cure before returning patio furniture to the patio, but okay to lightly walk on.

Day 1: Tile demo. Workers showed up on time, but sat in their truck for approx. 45 minutes before coming to the door. They worked all day and left saying they'd be back in the morning.
Day 2: Underlayment. No show, so we called only to be told there was no scheduled time and the workers would be here sometime that day. WHAT? We schduled the job weeks in advance, but seems they only schedule the first day and subsequent days are as they can get there. Not pleased with that at all. Workers finally showed up, never knocked, just entered the back yard and when done for the day, left without saying a word.
Day 3: Cool deck paint. Workers again just appeared in the backyard, no knocking and did not advise when done, just left. Job supposedly complete.

The workers were sloppy and got cool deck paint and underlayment material all over our side walkway on the house walls and columns and our fence. There was a lot of broken tile pieces in our swimming pool and they left debris all over the yard, including rubber gloves, tile pieces, water bottles, etc. They used our neighbors water/hose which was not acceptable. They did not pay attention to details and left the edges around the house walls looking horrible. The area where the tile met our walkway was not cut properly and now has a visible huge difference in texure, where it should have been a straight line.

Rich came out and agreed the job was messy so sent the workers back to fix the work and still no attention to detail. By day 6 of cure time the cool deck was coming up in a lot of areas all over the patio. Rich came back to look and said he would send the guys out yet again. They showed up, did not advise when they arrived and said nothing before leaving, and buffed the patio and rolled a new coat of cool deck on.

We left for the weekend and upon returning Monday we looked at the work which again was sloppy. They again got cool deck paint on our patio columns, some on the house walls and broke our electrical outlet box. The actual patio cool deck appears to be okay this time, thicker coating, but time will tell. Meanwhile, we need to touch up our house paint where they messed it up and fix our electric box. Not all all thrilled with: 1. the workers not knocking or checking in prior to leaving, especially the last day; 2. the lack of scheduling the job for the full 3 days, disrespectful of clients time; 3. sloppy workmanship and lack of attention to detail/quality of workmanship.

I am extremely happy with the work that Sledge Concrete did on redoing my cool decking and then adding more on up on to my patio. The whole process was a great experience from start to finish. The professionalism and quality of work provided from all was outstanding, in a day where it is typically not. I absolutely love the transformation of my backyard and would HIGHLY recommend this company to all. Thank you Richard, Kayla and team for the exceptional service and quality of work you provided!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Sledge did a fantastic job on our garage floor with a gorgeous epoxy chip coating that just makes the place look fantastic. Superb workmanship and attention to detail. It's the little things, like finishing the area below a threshold and ensuring little imperfections were properly prepped. Floor looks gorgeous guys, well done!

We had our patios, front porch and sidewalks acid stained and they look great! Wasn't too sure what to expect, but my husband and I both like the look of the finished product. We had Sledge Concrete Coatings apply cool decking to our entire back patio. The results are beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Joan was a delight to talk to on the phone. She was friendly and explained everything thoroughly. Kayla was also thorough and answered all our questions when she came to our home to give us the estimate. Every crew was punctual, efficient, polite and great guys. The price was far better than any other estimate we received. I would highly recommend this company and entire staff!

I had my cool deck recoated around my old pool and an acrylic texture with contrasting tile pattern applied to my bare concrete back patio. It is simply beautiful!

When Richard Sledge came to the house for the original estimate, he did not give a sales pitch, only options. Thanks! When his courteous, timely and enjoyable crew came out to do the job, they were on time and great to have around.. Not to mention very skilled at their work.

Sledge concrete was great throughout the entire process. Everyone was on time for appointments and communication on process was provided upfront. I had the faux flagstone installed on my ugly concrete pad in backyard. It has truley transformed the look and feel. I highly recommend this company. Thank you to whole crew for job well done.

Sledge did a superb job! We have had quite a few comments about their work both on our patios and in our garage. Richard and the guys worked extremely hard to be sure that we were satisfied. Each night saw a clean worksite. The next morning they arrived early and worked hard through the day.

We had Sledge Concrete put an epoxy coating on our garage floor. The communication and scheduling was perfect from the start. The crew was very efficient and showed up on time each day as promised. I was slightly concerned that our brand new cabinets might get damaged during the epoxy process, but the guys that came out were very attentive and did a great job; they covered every inch of the floor right up to the cabinets. The floor looks great! I would highly recommend these guys!

In deciding on who to do my garage floor, Sledge Concrete was chosen based on an excellent presentation and sales job done by their salesman. Although, the most expensive of the 5 companies I received quotes from, the long term guarantee and statement of excellence in craftsmanship and durability sold me. Unfortunately their sales promises and operations departments do not jive.

The sales guy mentioned 3 grades available - basically plain, medium and supreme (not actual terms but you get the gist) with supreme being about twice the price of plain. The extra costs were explained as the top end application required more prep work which included a process called diamond grinding. The sales guy sold us on the long term guarantee and the superb look of the finished product.
We chose Sledge and cleared our garage as requested. On the day prior to our installation start, we were called that the install team would not be able to come until later in the day as they were being tied up with finishing a more pressing job. That was no problem for me but I told them I’d have to leave a door unlocked as I couldn’t be home in the afternoon until late.
I received a phone call in the early afternoon stating that our garage floor would need more prep work and that we would need to pay an extra $1600 more to get the diamond grinding done.

WTH? I stated that this had already been explained by the salesman and that even though the cost already exceeded other quotes by $1200, I had decided to go ahead with Sledge. I asked for the manager to call back.

Later in the afternoon, I received a call. The manager explained that the salesperson was an independent contractor and that the manager usually did 90% of the estimates and that the independent guy “got it wrong”.

I was exasperated that I had items sitting outside my garage and everything ready to go. The manager would NOT honour the salesman quote and again asked that I agree to pay the extra $1600. I refused but wanting to get the job done, I offered to pay half the “extra” cost - $800. The manager again refused.

I’m not sure if I was being played, scammed or attempted to be fleeced for more $$$. Or if there was some other reason Sledge couldn’t/wouldn’t complete my floor that day (possibly other “more pressing” jobs ?) but felt we were not treated fairly. I would not recommend this company.

My experience with Sledge Concrete was excellent. They just completed a project for me and did an outstanding job. Their attention to detail was the best I have seen in my 9 years in AZ. They were very professional, friendly, and quality focused. They answered all of our questions along the way and were focused on both the job and our needs. I will highly recommend this company ... and I will most likely be using them on my next project.

I recently had pavers installed between patios and pool decking, and existing patios stained and sealed. Sledge Concrete Coatings did an outstanding job with both projects. The staff is very professional and focuses on customer satisfaction. The yard has a beautiful clean designer look and is perfect for entertaining. We had our driveway, walkway as well as our large patio done by Richard four years ago with a combination of faux flagstone and cool decking. Richards' crew did an outstanding job. We recommended them to several of our friends who in turn had theirs done.
Recently we asked Richard to see if we needed another sealant added after the recommended four years. He said that everything looked fine, but the driveway needed the re-coating. They also touched up a few places that had gotten damaged.
Richard was extremely fair in his pricing and his associates were absolutely great.

I asked multiple friends for garage floor expoxy coating recommendations - Sledge Concrete Coatings was referred to me. What a great choice. Their proposal blew away the others I obtained. And Sledge delivered masterfully on all they proposed. Their work led to multiple neighbors contracting with Sledge to coat their garages, too.

Instead of replacing our hardwoods, following some water damage, we opted for a more contemporary route with stained concrete. The crew at Sledge was wonderful from start to finish. (Even after running into some issues with demo, they were nothing but professional). My husband and I love the new look! I would only change one thing, I wish I had removed everything from the room, not just the furniture. It does get a bit dusty. But totally beautiful in the end.

Richard and Jodi are quality people - sincere, open, direct. We met Richard at their office and reviewed various concrete floor techniques for our condo. He explained each, pros and cons. We chose a polyurethane finish to lighten the look of the gray concrete with a small amount of glitter added to reflect highlights under direct light - much like a pearl finish on an automobile. He made us some samples and we scheduled the work. His guys were on time, neat (they laid down plastic since this is a condo with carpeted hallways to the unit), and they listened to our instructions for the type of look we wanted. We expected more of a mess, but the team was efficient and kept the dust to a minimum. We are very pleased with the result and would recommend Sledge to anyone.

We have been contemplating for quite some time on what we wanted to replace the carpet in the living room with, and I'm glad we stuck to my original plan of staining the concrete (hubby wanted to put tile). Great people to work with. On time each day, project went as scheduled and workers were polite and hard workers.
One small area had to be repainted, but was taken care of in a relatively short time. Only complaint is we as seniors needed heavy furniture moved back onto patio. But were told that this was an additional charge.

We had Sledge Concrete resurface our front porch, walk-way and outside patio area. We were pleased with their professionalism, their quote was excellent and the young men who did the work were outstanding.
I recommend them without any reservation.

We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to do with our entrance floor and we went ahead to do it. It wasn't as easy as we thought so we screwed it up completely. Then a friend of our's recommended Sledge Concrete Coating. We explained our idea and a few days later they gave us a sample that was exactly what we had in mind. It took two day's to accomplish our idea to perfection and we still regret that we didn't know about SCC before we started our remodel. Good experience. Had my 14x19 screened in patio floor stripped of carpet and coating with cool decking. Project went as expected. No surprises, installers were on time and professional. So far so good.

It appears that the crew did an excellent job on the driveway. They were here three days to complete the process. It has been a week and I haven't driven on it yet--plan to use it this weekend. Neighbors have all commented on how nice it looks.

Just hope it holds up in the Arizona conditions--it does have a 5-year warranty.

The team of young men did a nice job. They were kind, hardworking and seemed to be very professional...they represented sledge concrete very well. The finished product looks nice and I hope the product holds up when the hot Arizona sun shines down on it in June, July , August, September....we shall see.

We rec'd multiple estimates for the epoxy coating for our garages. Sledge was not the cheapest, but was in the ballpark with the others. We especially appreciated the fact that Richard took the time to explain everything to us in detail since this was a totally new experience for us.

Friendly and hard-working staff. Rich is very talented and was able to apply a texture over two non-stainable cement slab bedroom floors and make it look indistinguishable from stained concrete. It was a significant improvement over the company we used previously to texture/stain our living room floor years ago.

Great service and wonderful job on my interior flooring. Workers were very professional and courteous. I would have given a 4.5 if I could. The reason for the non 5 review is due to the fact that the workers did leave some trash in our sinks.

BEWARE! This company is a complete JOKE! Words cannot describe the awful experience I had with this company. The project was done in March of this year and chunks of the floors are literally missing. I am more than happy to discuss further with anyone even considering using Sledge. Going with this company was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made.
