I had some cracks developing in my 100 year old home. I contacted 3 companies, and spent the time to get all the quotes. Ramjack was was honest and after the floor level survey, they came back and told me I just needed grading and gutters. They could have taken my money and I wouldn’t have known any different. The other two companies quoted me huge repairs, without even doing the floor level survey. I worked with Brian and he was awesome. I work in Purchasing, so quotes, pricing and value are paramount to me. Ramjack exceeded my expectations and if I have significant movement in the future I will call them.

We added an extension to our driveway. They were extremely efficient, did beautiful work, and were very knowledgeable. They worked hard and were very friendly! I can't recommend them enough!

This company did an awesome job on my patio extension. They were professional and completely the job in a timely manner. They were also thorough with the cleanup after the job.

Top to bottom-- one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor. Scheduling was simple and fast and James was right on time. He was courteous and wore a mask (COVID).

He spend an hour and a half (!) helping me better understand my home and the problems. I had previously watched his videos online and read the information on his website. If you think you may have an issue, I recommend educating yourself online first because the content is great and it will help you follow what James tells you on site.

Long story short: our issue was not as severe as I originally suspected. James recommended water mitigation strategies which his company does not perform-- meaning that he made no money from his visit to our home. We had previously made changes to the grade of the yard which James deemed adequate, although he advocated for us to be vigilant moving forward to ensure that it was performing as intended during rainfall.

I would highly recommend this company. In fact, I'm not sure why you would use anyone else. Other reviews suggest this is their standard operating procedure. Impressive!

Awesome company

They installed epoxy flooring in the kitchen of our Phoenix restaurant. It has held up extremely well against spills and heavy foot traffic. Also provides added safety for our staff (non-slip surface).

Amazing work by my new friend Mel. This man and all of his crew were friendly, professional, tidy and thorough. I called for a quote and Mel was there within a few hours. The job was done quickly and my pool deck and patio are more beautiful than I could have imagined. Pricing and communication were totally on point. I will be using Specialty concrete again and will confidently refer business to the team.

Fair prices and quality work.

My wife and I own a 53 year old house here in Phoenix and as one can imagine, the driveway, garage and back patio concrete slabs were looking a tad beat up (cracks, gouges, stains, etc.). We decided it was high time to do something before it got too bad and the only option was new concrete. Did a quick Google search and Sun Valley Concrete Coatings caught my eye.

Contacted them and they responded very quickly and within a day or two, Rene was on premise and supplied us with a very reasonable quote to which we quickly agreed to (I normally get three quotes for such a major home project, but I went with my gut that was telling me Rene with Sun Valley is the way to go). They put us down for a three day work schedule a week or so out and BOOM, Rene and his crew were on-site, on-time as expected and got right to it with no messing around (they got ‘er done in two days)!

The results DEFINITELY exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier with how it rejuvenated our old driveway, garage and back patio whilst significantly improving the overall “curb appeal” of the house (it no doubt has increased the overall value of the property). Rene was very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had, and we had NO COMPLAINTS whatsoever. If you’re looking to preserve and beautify the concrete around your home, based on our experience, my wife and I simply cannot recommend Sun Valley Concrete Coatings enough. When I choose a company to do major concrete work on my home or offices I do my homework and suggest you do as well. Always choose a licensed and insured contractor. When making my selection I found this company to be using another companies ROC number. I have submitted this to contractor bored, the chamber of commerce and The BBB. Just doing my good deed for the day

I used Desert Coatings (DC) to do painted concrete flooring throughout our house back in August or September of 2017. The flooring consisted of a total of approximately 1,700 square feet of flooring. The house that this work was done at was a vacation house at the time, so I wasn’t there to supervise the work when it was done. Other work was being done at the house by another contractor at the same time. Overall, the final finished floor was okay, but there were some things I wasn’t happy about.

During their install process I received a call from my general contractor that the flooring installers had gotten cement material all over the newly painted doors and baseboards. I called DC and they gave me a $700 credit to have the doors and baseboards fixed and repainted. After the flooring job was done, I came out to the house and discovered that the workers had spilled concrete in various spots on my newly painted patio cool deck. I was able to power wash some of it away, but some still remains to this day.

In a bedroom some tile had to be removed and DC had to use a self-leveling concrete to even out the floor, as well as raise a portion to make it level with the rest of the room. When I was able to come out and look at the flooring, I noticed that this area was very wavy and had bumps in some spots. I called DC and they came out and applied another coat, which improved it, but the finish still wasn’t smooth flat in the end.

In the living room they had to fill the entire room with about 2-3 inches of concrete to fill the void left by removing the existing wood underlayment that was previously used to build up the floor. Where this new poured concrete met the existing concrete, a crack developed about 6-12 months later, which caused the paint to chip away. There were a couple other cracks that developed too. I called DC and they sent someone out to fix it. The repair consisted of them applying more paint over the cracked area. The repair ended up not being flush with the rest of the finish, and the color did not match the rest of the flooring. This crack is in a prominently noticeable area of the house too.

Fast forward to 2020-2021, the crack reappeared and the paint began to crack and chip away again. I didn’t call DC right away because I still was not living in the house full time yet. After moving in full time, the chipping away became worse from walking over the area. I called DC twice in August 2022 (8/25 & 8/29), both times reaching an answering service. They said they would pass the message along and someone would call me by the next day. No one called me back. After the second call I decided to start emailing them (9/1/22). The first email response I got was that Tom Allen (the owner) was out of state that week, so I waited about two weeks and emailed them again (9/14). I received an email back (9/16) stating that they were on vacation and would call me back when they returned. I waited a month and did not receive a response, so I emailed again (10/17/22) and received no response. I emailed a final time (10/27/22) and again no response.

In addition to the above there are a few spots here and there that I wasn’t happy with – under the kitchen island (uneven finish and sheen), a few wavy uneven spots here and there throughout the house. I didn’t write a review at the time, because I just figured I’d live with it as is, but now that I can’t get a response from them, or have them come out to do the repair, I’m writing a response now.

I do not recommend and would not use Desert Coatings again (I felt this way before the lack of response, but even more so now), especially if you’re looking for a high-end finish. I have since read other reviews where they do not respond to follow up calls for repairs when needed.
