Best Coatings Repair in Phoenix AZ

Our experience with this company was mostly good, but in the end a substandard topcoat sealant really hurt Renco's review with us, because it is the component that determines whether the roof will last a long time or oxidize within a few short years and need early replacement.

Some good points: Renco's bid was neither the lowest nor the highest of the 5 companies and 4 different types of roofing materials we considered. However, they were the ONLY contractor willing to take the old roof off before putting the new roof on. In fact, the salesman said that's the only way Renco is willing to do flat roofs, by tearing off the old roof first. And because we had a 20-year-old torch-down roof that was leaking in several spots, this was the only thing that made sense to me. Why would all these other companies want to install a roof that costs $10-15k or more right on top of an old, leaky roof that has blisters and buckles from 20 years of Arizona heat?

Workmanship was good, but not excellent. The Ripout crew was excellent. The Foam crew was amazing. The Topcoat, as previously stated, was terrible. At first I thought it might have been the topcoat crew that was to blame, but then I realized Renco's standard application process simply does not use enough topcoat material. I've asked the salesman, the foam crew and the topcoat crew how much sprayed-on elastomeric it takes to achieve the industry standard (~15 mils thickness) on a rough surface like polyurethane foam. Nobody knew the answer.

I can tell you from experience that Renco has a standard topcoat application rate that does not account for very rough areas, extra porous areas, and other hard-to-fill areas. And besides, various tradesmen I've spoken with say elastomeric should be rolled on for best results, not sprayed. So... while I was re-painting the parapet wall caps after roof installation, I also had to buy an extra 5 gallons of high quality elastomeric and re-seal several areas where the elastomeric topcoat was so inadequate that foam roofing material was still showing through after Renco had supposedly put down 3 coats (yeah, the topcoat crew came back out a second time, and it still wasn't right after 3 coats).

Renco may warranty the roof for 5 years, but I've been told by many reliable tradespeople that if you take care of these polyurethane roofs correctly, they should last practically forever. We didn't pay $12,700 to have the roof last only 5 or 10 years due to a substandard topcoat which would cause early oxidation and subsequent failure. So... I have and will continue to do everything in my power to make sure this roof lasts a good long time. And I'm sure it will last a long time, as long as I am the one doing the re-coating that is required every 3-5 years.

I'm glad we went with Renco for a number of reasons, but buyer beware. Inspect their work and don't accept the job until it is done absolutely right. If your topcoat looks uneven, get some good elastomeric and re-coat it yourself with a high-nap roller. Protect your investment.

Great work at a fair price, along with a 10-year warranty to boot. I recommend them without hesitation.

As a small time landlord I prefer working with trades that have a good reputation and are recommended. That's how I found Mikku & Sons. They have provided prompt and complete services when I've called on them for my rental needs.

We recently sold our primary residence and there were a few small repairs needed on our tile roof. I called Joshua and I soon had a quote and a time frame. Even though Phoenix had experience the wettest July on record (they were swamped) they were able to fit my small job into their schedule. They got the work done within the escrow time frame and smoothed the process for everyone on our end.

I will continue to use and recommend Mikku & Sons going forward

Steve was the third contractor to give me a quote for some roof repair. While at the house he advised that he would be glad to inspect the entire roof and give a quote for any needed repairs. His quote was neither the highest or lowest, but he included other repairs that the other roofers never even looked for. I hired Ready Roofing and they were able to schedule within a few days, and completed the work in one day. Both Steve and his workers were very professional, polite and effective. I expect to use Ready Roofing for any future roof maintenance and/or repair.

I used Centrik a year ago for my casita with a unique tile roof. Augusto, said no problem and he did very timely, exactly how I asked and he had the best price! What can be better? Then we had a repair on our house (tile), and he came out and gave a fair quote and knocked it out beautifully within a week. This time I didn't even get another quote. I knew I was getting the best. Don't go with the big corporate folks; too expensive and you wait way too long. Stay local and go with Centrik.

I had noticed that many people in my neighborhood had been using In-Ex for their roof projects so I decided to give them a call as I had my original roof and it was a matter of time before I would start having problems.
I was very pleased with In-Ex Designs and everyone I was in contact with during the process from the estimator to the guys on the job to the people I spoke with at the office. The price was reasonable and the job was completed when they said it would be. Calls and emails were returned promptly when I had questions. I had new paper put down over the entire roof and tiles reinstalled. The workers arrived promptly every day and got after it! Care was taken to ensure as little mess from the project as possible and the clean up was great - I could not have asked for better cleanup! I would recommend In-Ex.

I called Overson Roofing after coming home from a short trip and noticed water spots on our piano. They came by that same afternoon, diagnosed the problem and talked us through how best to fix it. We looked at numerous other companies to replace our aging roof and repair some failing structural beams. Four Peaks was price was in line with other companies but their responsiveness and professionalism was well above any other company we spoke with. Jason was extremely responsive and courteous and followed up on each request immediately. They were able to get started very quickly and their crew worked diligently to complete ethe repair & replacement. Some additional roof damage was found and Jeff clearly explained what was needed and had his team come in on Sunday to keep the project on schedule. Jason and Jeff both checked in throughout the project and once it was completed, Jason came back and walked the roof with us to show exactly what had been done and ensure that the quality was up to standard. During the project, we had neighbors ask who we were working with as they were impressed with the quality of workmanship. I would highly recommend Four Peaks. They were easy to work with and the end result looks amazing. As an aside, a huge rainstorm came in the day after completion and no issues were revealed. Very happy with Four Peaks.
