Matt P. came out and ran electrical for our new bathroom and fixed some other electric issues while he was there. He was professional, helpful and went above and beyond. We will use them in the future if we need more electrical work done.

My name is Karl Plesz owner of A Fresh Look Inc. one of Charlotte's top remodeling company's. We have used No Shorts Electric the past 6 year. We use them when we're involved in a major remodel or for smaller jobs. They are very reliable and always do a safe job. They always find the SHORT!! I would recommend them to anyone.

I've been having some issues with my electric lately, and wanted to troubleshoot the issues. I saw on their website that they perform thermal imaging and called to schedule an appointment. I was informed of the cost associated with the service I was requesting and agreed that I wanted to book the appointment. I later received a call asking if I was sure if I wanted to go ahead with the thermal imaging as they were sure they could diagnose my issues without using the imaging tool that they would have to rent, and that it would be much cheaper- I again confirmed I was aware of the cost and I did want to have the thermal imaging done. Tell me why then the technician shows up two hours late without the tool required to do the service I had requested. His excuse was that they did not have the tool available to rent...so why did you not try to reschedule? I called the company back to ask how this happened and asked for a follow-up call because I felt my time and money had been wasted, haven't heard back. I would not recommend, and would not be doing further business with this company.

Smoke alarm started going off at 5am. Called at 9:30 & Ed said he would work me in. He was here by 11:30& by 1 had changed out all my smoke detectors & co detectors at my instruction. Couldn’t ask for better service & a fair price. Have recommended him to our neighborhood & will definitely use him if I need any work done.

I was just going to move on but since they have emailed me 3-4 times in the past month for an appointment on Jan 15 2018.. I guess I should share my brief experience. The positive is the technician showed up quickly.. They have a policy that they will charge you $200 the moment they commence looking at your project. And they even go as far to disclaim that there is a chance they will not be able to perform the task you need and that you will still have to pay the $200. This routine seems pretty rehearsed and probably has been required by some attorney.
My technician looked at the front door light fixture and sure enough said it needed to be replaced and there was nothing he could do.. but that he would be happy to come back out to charge me another $200 to install the fixture once I have purchased it.
The lesson here is if you have any light fixture that you think is faulty.. the best plan is to go to Lowe’s/Home Depot/etc. and purchase a replacement.. they usually come with the installation. If it turns out the project doesn’t require the new fixture, you just return it. But at least you will have a reliable electrician that comes with the Lowe’s/ Home Depot stamp of approval who will assess your needs and not Overcharge you for what amounts to a 2 minute decision that they couldn’t help you.
I don’t like writing bad reviews but perhaps this will teach the Father and Son to use more discretion which previous clients to hound for public feedback.

I recently moved from Washington DC to NC. I used Michael and Sons regularly to service and maintain my home when in DC. When I found myself without power and getting no help from the utility company I was excited to see that M&S was also in this area. If possible my interaction with Cody today made me even more of a fan and loyal customer. He was attentive, kind and empathetic to my situation when others were not. While to him and others I’m sure this would be considered a simple fix but to me it was the turning point of actually being able to enjoy my new home. He took the time to explain not only what he was doing at the time but the why so that I would be prepared if it happened again. In a series of events that have gone wrong over the last few days it was nice to have something go right.

Very disappointed with Bates Electric. I already moreless chose an electrician for a job, but wanted to do my final checks before moving forward. To be fair, the scheduler seems to be my main concern with lack of empathy from management. The actual electrician team seem extremely experienced.
The scheduler was not knowledgeable nor clear with what they said. I described my situation clearly and suggested I needed a meter back put in and a panel and I was asking for ball park prices for the service. She responded with $1800 for just the panel plus ~$150 for permits. Which I was just wanting to get a panel of service and this is what I asked about. I scheduled a visit for $250 since the next best price was ~$3k.
Well I get a quote back and its almost $4k, I called and said this is no where close to the number on the phone. Ballparks are ballparks, but over double didn't make sense. Well speaking to the team and manager I was told the scheduler said the panel was $1.8k for just that material. That didn't include any other materials or the service. They went back to listen to my call and I ask for a ball park and she clearly said just the panel, but given the context seemed on par for what we were talking about. The manager was sympathetic suggesting clearly the scheduler didn't answer my question rather just said something else. But, the manager suggested this was my fault for not catching her redirecting my question. Also she no longer works there, so makes me think this isn't the only time.
As I mentioned company seems knowledgeable, but assume the scheduler will provide false info. I felt very bait and switch with the situation and out $250 for nothing. I understand companies can't always come out for free, but providing misleading numbers is part of the reason they have so many quotes in the first place. Even with a knowledgeable group I would rather do business with a team that doesn't feel like a 1 way street.

The big problem of this company is they do not keep their word. They hide their fees and demand that you pay for something that they told they would not charge for it.Very rude in the phone.

on my 2nd payment at time of installation to Arc Electric the check was paid by my bank on dec 13, then sent back to my bank from Arc Ele. Co. bank (Chase Bank) the next day, my bank told me that Chase had labeled is as a suspicious transaction when they returned the money. The money had been paid to there bank, the check was honored by my bank but the funds were returned by Chase. They then started treating me like i had done something wrong and wanted to charge me fees. i called the owner who was very RUDE , did not want to listen to my concerns, and told me I didn't have to pay his fees, but he didn't care what had happened. the office mgr. is the worst customer care person I have ever had to deal with. I had shorted them the fee my bank had charged me for putting a stop payment on the check, before I gave them a replacement check and didn't pay the fee they tried to collect , then I called my bank and they removed the fee, so I called my salesperson and told him I would pay them the fee i had shorted them that my bank had charged me but was not going to pay the fee they wanted. then when ARC Ele. got to my home they tried to hit me with the fee again. I called the office to get the same stone wall , RUDE office mgr. I didn't pay the fee and never will or ever use this firm for anything, I have also filed a complaint with BBB and Generac
