My experience with Michael & Sons today was very positive. The initial check on my unit was thorough. It included going into the crawl space to check the compressor. And, I am so glad they did as they found black mold encompassing the unit! Their efforts may have saved my life! These guys are top notch representatives of your company. They sent James to review my options for replacing the heating system and installing a unit to prevent mold. James made me feel comfortable and well informed with deciding which unit to choose.These men are the best of the best! Bravo!

My technician, John, was professional and on time. He was very respectful of my home and always put cover slips on his boots when coming inside. He spent the majority of the day in the crawl space under the house in 40° weather, but every time he came inside to talk or give me an update he had a great disposition and positive attitude. The final solution was not an obvious one, but thanks to his logical, methodical approach and tenacity he was able to get the heat restored in my house by the end of the day. Additionally, Michael & Sons went the extra length and extended the labor warranty the previous home owner had on to me since the unit was less than 4 years old.. Excellent service. Will absolutely use again and recommend to anyone with HVAC or plumbing issues.

Very professional service from both Logan and Jim on separate occasions. The services being performed were always well communicated and the two answered all the questions we had around our heating and cooling systems. They also walked us through our options clearly and thoroughly so we understood exactly what we were signing up for each time. Once it was time for the installations and subsequent checks, Logan and Jim were on time and worked quickly and efficiently. Our family appreciates the work done and we look forward to working with them in future!

I had contacted Michael and son at around 12pm to install a wall outlet for a TV I was mounting. I received a confirmation call within 15 minutes and a technician was at my front door within 30 minutes. The installation was quick, easy and up front. The technician was very friendly and thorough and explained everything, he completed the install and cleaned up after himself. I ended up signing up for the home care program as well after it was explained to me. I highly recommend Michael and son. 10/10 will use again in the future.

I had a great experience using Michael & Son (Charlotte). I had a technician out the same day I called. William Davis identified the problem quickly, provided me feedback on what he did to fix it, and how he improved the system so it wouldn’t happen again. William was on time, very knowledgeable in his work, and provided me tips for my air light filter if I wanted to replace this in the future.Overall, very pleased, would recommend them to anyone based on this experience.

Jody was patient, explaining all the details with each scenario that I asked about. The estimate included photos and a summary that he read aloud to me so that I could ask more questions, if it wasn't quite right. He explained the different service options, and prices depending on whether it was customer provided parts, or if they provided parts. The service plan seems very reasonable for the price, and provides 4 inspections plus 10% off of the service being done. I appreciate his time and thoroughness. He even checked my water pressure on the spot, and showed me how to use a specific tool, and what it looked like, if I wanted to do it on my own. Great person, and his open honesty speaks well of the company, and is exactly what I want.

He came out to my business on a Saturday, fixed our main issue and then tightened a separate toilet seat … all with a smile on his face! Jody really made the process of replacing our water heater smooth for us. He called before the appointment and let us know he had reviewed the emergency call we placed to Michael & Son when our water heater failed and overflowed. He let us know he was on the way and arrived exactly when he said he would. Upon arrival, Jody was courteous, empathetic, and ready to get to work. He explained the pricing for the replacement unit and was patient with our questioning. His answers were thorough and straightforward. Then, once we decided on a payment option, he went about gathering his supplies and got to work. He worked efficiently and answered any questions that came up. Once he finished, he stayed long enough to ensure that everything was working up to and beyond our expectations. He also took time to explain proper shut off points for the unit as well as the warranty and service agreement. Jim came out to give us an estimate on our upstairs furnace and was absolutely amazing. He was straightforward and honest about what he saw and provided insight that other companies failed to mention. It was my first time ever using Michael and son and I was very happy with their technician Thomas. Thomas was able to quickly address the problem and restore our electricity. In addition, he was so helpful and give us very knowledgeable advice for preventative measures going forward. I would definitely recommend this company.

Our plumber Matt was awesome! We had a clogged drain that we tried snaking on our own with no success. He came in and was professional and efficient. Matt quickly identified what needed to be done, took care of the clog, cleaned up everything once he was finished, and truly made the whole experience painless. He even tightened up the P-trap underneath the sink. Highly recommended using their services.

From the initial contact through the completion of the work, this company made my experience seamless. They are very professional. Benita from customer service calmed me down and clearly explained how the company works. Mr Zuala, the technician, walked me through the expected repairs. I reached out to Michael and sons on a Sunday and was able to have service the next day. My service technician Matt was great. He identified the problem and took care of it right away . Matt was very helpful in making sure that I along with my 88 year old father understood the issue and how it was resolved.Thank you for your patience ?. We came back from vacation late on a freezing Christmas Eve to find our gas water heater pilot light was out! On Christmas day, I booked an appointment for Monday morning via their online booking site. A lady called me a little after 8 on Monday to confirm the appointment. The tech was quick, professional and thorough in checking out the water heater and getting the pilot light going again. Would definitely call them again.

Carlos was wonderful to work with today! He is professional, knowledgeable, kind, efficient, and considerate of my children who were in the home while he was working. He took extra time to explain and educate me about the electrical in my home. I’m very happy with the good service and would request Carlos in the future if I needed anything again.

Ethan was very thorough cleaning the burners. We have never seen anyone do that and it was in our basic maintenance price. He showed us our dirty coils and gave us a reasonable price to clean them. Our unit is running efficiently now.

Carlos was very experienced in electrical work. His knowledge gave me the comfort that everything installed in my home today was done with skill and care. No mess afterwards to clean up either. I will be using this service again. Definitely money we’ll spent!

Our electrician Brian was extremely professional and did a great job in installing both the new electrical outlet and fan switch. He listened to the concerns I had in particular regarding the fan switch and walked me through the installation. Brian also called to update on arrival time which was nice. Much appreciate the next day service as well. I highly recommend Brian and will use Michael & Sons again should the need arise.

The technician who came was very polite and prompt. However I feel like the quote, literally 2 thousand dollars to install 12 led outdoor lights that I owned, along with all the equipment that would take literally 2 hours tops was excessive to say the least. Just some lights with chords and ground stakes attached. I thought it might be better to hire an electrician because the last company that installed my outdoor lights cost me 800$ and they supplied all the equipment. The technician stated they would charge me 350$ just to put in the first light! I already had the light ready to go and they were literally going to charge me over 300$ just to put it in the ground. But if I’m paying 2 grand just for labor it better be for something I could never do and would take two days. So I paid 75 bucks for some friendly conversation for 10 minutes. Once again not worth it.

My scheduled appointment with Carlos was very good. He arrived on time. He was very polite and very knowledgeable. He explained everything so that I could understand it. I don’t think this service could have gone Any better. If I should need your service at some point in the future, I would like to have Carlos.

Thomas came to fix an outlet issue I was having. He quickly diagnosed the problem and resolved it in record time. He was extremely professional and friendly during his short time here. I even had him quote on an outdoor flood light install. I would highly recommend anyone in the future to contact Michael & Sons for their services.

My technician Matt McCarter called and offered me an earlier appointment, which I appreciated. He explained the needed repair and indicated why it should be done a certain way. He went to pick up materials and then finished the job promptly. He ran the sink 3 times on each side to take sure the repair was good. The price was reasonable given the speed and efficiency of the service. I recommend this company for plumbing issues.

This company is very professional and courteous. Ethan came to fix an issue with my AC control board. He was amazing, the office staff kept me informed about my service and parts status. When I call Michael & Sons, I never have any doubt that they will solve my problem.

Matt gave us a reasonable quote for a new hot water heater and installed it in no time at all! He was friendly, professional, and did a great job. He even took the time to explain everything he was doing along the way. I would 100% use Michael and Sons again

I had the pleasure of meeting Nathan when he came to my home to fix a light fixture by my front door!!We finally replaced the light fixtures on the exterior of our home. Unfortunately, we had one fixture that had not worked in quite a while and the new one we installed didn't work either! It was driving me crazy!!I found Michael and Sons Services and made an appt for the same week. On the day of the appt I received a text from Micheal and Sons with a picture of my technician, Nathan, and the time window he would be here. I also got a call with an estimated time of arrival from Nathan when he was on his way.When Nathan got here he was so pleasant and professional. He listened to what was going on and had it fixed in 10 minutes!!! I now have working lights by my front door and I couldn't be happier!!Thank you so much Nathan! It was lovely meeting you.I will definitely be calling Michael and Sons Services for any home upkeep or repairs in the future!

Both service providers were excellent. Brian Baltimore serviced our electrical issues. He explained the problem, how it could be fixed, told us the cost and after agreeing he fixed the issues effectively. Brian was on time. We like that Michael &Sons sends a photo and brief professional history of the service provider.William Davis conducted the air conditioning and cooling system inspection. Very thorough and provided photos of any issues with a thorough explanation of what he was showing us. He also cleaned the outside air conditioning unit which was clogged with debris. Everything was done professionally. To be honest, we left Service Experts and went to Michael & Sons because we felt Michael & Sons was more professional, always on time, more knowledgeable and less expensive.

Thomas was great. Very good customer service on the job and over the phone with communication. Scheduling was smooth as well. For anything electrical I would highly recommend for a positive customer experience, in a world where that is currently so hard to find.

Carlos was on time, professional and did a great job. He set proper expectations and the work was clean. Highly recommend him!

William Logan Davis was Technician who responded, unbelievable knowledge of HVAC system, very professional. What a great representative of Michael and Sons. Logan Davis replaced Evaporator Coil as diagnosed from previous visit. A/C is blowing very cold air now. Extremely pleased with response from Michael and Sons, definitely recommend their service.

The plumber Jody Best was —literally —the best! Very nice and very knowledgeable. He diagnosed the minor problem and then diagnosed the larger problem that caused the former. I love easy solutions with competent technicians.

Nathan was professional, thorough and kind. He took the time to explain what he was doing and was patient answering my questions. He made the whole service call painless. I so appreciate it. I highly recommend this company.

Jody Best with Michael & Son was very quick to come when we had a toilet overflow, flooding several areas. He was kind, considerate & quite knowledgeable. If I could rate him 10 stars I would. He is very good at his job and represents the company well. I’ll definitely call them again.

Jody did an awesome job! I understand that it was Memorial Day but 950 bucks for 30 minutes work hurt and kinda left a bad taste. We had to have water and did what we had to do and you guys did a great job. But I won't use you again.

We called to schedule am appointment for an estimate for an unknown leak in our kitchen. We know it is not the sink leaking but are not sure if it is from a leak from an outside faucet on the wall or an issue with the foundation/slab/pipes. When I made the appointment I was very specific that it may be an issue with the slab/foundation. I asked specifically, could they potenially handle that type of repair and the answer was yes. The appointment window came and went so I called. They said the technician was held up in the prior job but would be coming out. Two hours passed. No call, no show still so I call again. I get the same response. Another two hours go by so I call again. Now they said someone tried to call to say they couldn't handle those repairs from the Charlotte office. First, it could just be an outside faucet leak in the wall. Second, if they would have told me they couldn't handle this type of potential repair when I made an appointment at 9am, I could have called another company instead of wasting my day waiting for their technician to come out for an estimate. Now, I have been on a call for more than 23 minutes waiting for a response on why this happened and how they can fix this. Being on hold for over 10 minutes is not right, but if I hang up then I run into the company saying I wouldn't try to remedy it.

John did a very thorough and professional job on my home hvac and my separate split unit. He found and fixed a zone problem that many techs never found or understood. We are super pleased with John and his work.

I have been very pleased with Michael and Son! The service has been great. They keep us posted through any work they are doing, and the work is done in a timely fashion. Our representative Jim has been excellent and very professional. He makes sure we are always satisfied with the work that is done on our AC Systems. I’d definitely recommend Michael and Son to anyone in need of AC work on his/her home.

Jody was very nice and helpful. The toilet installed a few weeks ago didn’t fit right. Previous technician said it was ok. Jody worked to find a toilet that will hopefully fit correctly.Update:Jody came back with a new toilet that fits in the space and it looks great! He’s very conscientious about his work.

This is the second time we have used Michael and Sons and we were very satisfied with the work completed. The tech was very clear in explaining what the issue was and we felt the cost was reasonable for the work. We will only be using Michael and Sons going forward!

The tech was extremely friendly and very thorough. All of my options were explained and there was absolutely no pressure to add-on anything. Glad I found Michael & Son and will definitely be using them in the future.

So far everyone has been phenomenal!! From the initial phone call with Ms. Holly to the welcome visit (I forgot the first gentleman's name) but both he and Mr. James were very patient with me as I needed to call my landlord during the process of sign up and choosing a replacement system. Explanations were understandable and both gentlemen were extremely kind. They were also patient with my dog who was not to fond of strangers (of course locked him up before they arrived) as I can understand a dog constantly barking can become aggravating after a while. They came in, got the job done, all completely honest and offered nothing but beautiful customer service. Glad we will be starting a care service package with them!!!UPDATE 6/3/2023This review comes after having a new system input and STILL waiting for someone to contact either me or my landlord to set up a date to have an inspector come out. I have tried calling multiple times over the past month and have not been able to reach ANYONE. My landlord has also called and has not been able to reach anyone either. I understood that the ability to reach me might have been difficult due to a phone number change but when I leave 4-5 voicemails providing my new number as well as an email and still receive a letter stating that they are unable to get in touch with me it rubs me the wrong way. The number provided is the number I have been calling so it doesn't help that NO ONE picks up the phone or gives a call back, even if it is a few business days later. EXTREMELY bothered with this service as I have had some issues with my HVAC not staying cool and the summer heat is creeping up on us. Hopefully this updated review will get someone to reach out to me!!!

Great electrical service from Nathan. Very respectful, knowledgeable and professional. He even helped my find the breaker associated to my doorbell. Also very affordable.

I used this company for an electical issue. Needed to swap out 2 breakers and 1 receptacle. They charged me $650 for a diagnostic fee that took 20 minutes. I asked what’s the hourly rate and was told there is none it’s by the job. They definitely overcharged me ($1100 total) but they appeared to fix the problem. I wanted my tenants happy so I paid. But I cannot recommend them based on their outrageous pricing. I’ve been managing rentals for 16 years and this was the most aggressive pricing I’ve seen in that time. This job should have cost $600-$750. I also realized they (parent company) are not based in Huntersville but Washington DC. So your not hiring a local electrician, that probably explains the DC pricing in NC. I’ll be looking for any other Electrician for my future needs.Update ***** I was contacted by a manager a few days after the job and was able to professionally resolve my concerns and the price was adjusted based on the time the inspection took. It was a little bit of a hassle to go through this all but they did the right thing in my opinion.

I had them come out to see if they could replace the insulation on the air ducts in the crawl space. At the end of the inspection James gave me my quote. I thanked him and told him I wanted to look at a few more companies before choosing them. He recommended I “call my husband or dad” as the price he quoted was very fair. I am a 30 year old woman who owns her own house and lives alone. I really didn’t appreciate the insinuation that I can’t make a decision without a man and I am very sure that is not something he would have said to me if I was a man.

They fixed the power line from well to the house and reburied the new line in a very timely matter. The men were very professional and their work was great. I am thankful I chose this company for this job.

Horrible experience. This is a bait and switch completely dishonest business. They waive the $69 dispatch fee if you chose to do the work with them but their actual service/labor fee is ridiculously high and inconsistent. So your choice is to loose the $69 fee or pay a very high price to have the job done or call another business. They know that when they come over most people will not bother calling another electrician to restart the process so they charge you big time more , that’s their business model. The technician was very confusing with the fee and borderline unprofessional when trying t resolve my issue Stay away from them. I would never use this company again and I would look at better option if you need electrical work.

Tyler and Dylan did a great job installing my HVAC unit. They did a great job explaining every step of the process. Communication is key and they are great at what they do. I would highly recommend these guys and Michael and Son for any HVAC install.

It was $69 to have them drive to my house then it would have been another $300 to “pull tools off the truck” to check this out. Then MORE of a cost depending on what was found. Be warned.

They installed my new air conditioner and furnace. They sales person was awesome. He was able to answer my and my wife’s questions. When we decided to use them we were told to was going to be 2 weeks before they could install the new system. Which I was willing to accept that but asked if they could move it in.The very next day I got a call from the representative. He was an able to move it up. The. Next morning they were here installing the new system. The installers were also awesome. They did the install and cleaned up the mess inside and out. They explained the new. System to me and my son. There are such fine young men just like the sales representative. I have already recommended the to a whole bunch of peopleI came from upstate New York in a small town and used the local business to get great service. It was so nice dealing with Your business It was like being back in my hometown

Jody was our technician. He was amazing! Very personable and professional. Truly someone you feel comfortable bringing into your home and inviting back for dinner! I will say the services were a bit pricey for a leak detection (note not a repair) + faucet installation for $900. There were several additional rusted small parts he identified and replaced however we supplied the faucet parts.

Matt did a phenomenal job replacing my water heater!!! He was very knowledgeable about the tools, products and equipment need for my house. Matt showed extreme professionalism while doing his job, was personable and took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. Jim from Michael & Son came to our home and gave us a quote on a new heat pump. He was a pleasure to be around and Michael & Son had the best price out of any of the HVAC professionals we spoke with. The breakdown of the unit and service was very comprehensive and Jim was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Overall, he made purchasing a new unit simple and affordable.

The bad: I needed one outside flood light replaced and one bathroom exhaust fan /light combo replaced. I already had the replacement fixtures on hand. Both of these things I could have done myself but to save myself the time I decided to pay someone for the convenience. Both jobs were super simple and when I booked the appointment online it gave an estimate for each job of $69. It in no way explained that $69 was merely the dispatch fee. For an hour of work they quoted me a price over $1,000. I said absolutely not and did not go through with the service. After the technician left I installed the flood light myself and since I still didn't want to deal with the exhaust fan, I called another company that had done good work for me in the past. They quoted me $225 to replace the exhaust fan. Michael and sons prices are nowhere near competitive or reasonable.The good: I was able to easily book an appointment online and receive service the very next day. Also Carlos, the person dispatched to my home waved the dispatch fee when he realized there was a misunderstanding on the estimates given online. He was very nice.

Matt saved the day by troubleshooting the issue with my hot water heater! Matt worked quickly and diligently with his team and with Rheem’s warranty department to expedite the parts shipment to repair the water heater the very next day. Matt went above and beyond and even made the repairs on a Saturday night. I definitely recommend Matt with Michael & Sons!

I needed pot lights repaired, outlet receptacles replaced, light switches replaced, wiring for new outlets and wiring to install a pendant light in my kitchen as part of a remodel. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the electrical services Michael and Son provided me, specifically Carlos!! Communication was excellent, including direct calls when he was set to arrive, changes in availability and attention to detail in ensuring that the wiring was safe and done to best practice standards. The technician was really nice and did a good job. It was more expensive than I anticipated and took a lot longer than it should have. He arrived at my house at 10:30am and left at 11pm. A lot of back and forth for parts for hours at a time. I don’t think it was his fault but I as not the best experience for us.

Do not trust this company. PLEASE READ THROUGH IF YOU ARE DECIDING TO HIRE THESE PEOPLE. I read these reviews thinking I would be getting an organized, reputable, first class company to fix our water heater but that was not the case at all. We had someone come in and give us a quote. We signed off on the quote and asked for a copy. We were told that a copy would be emailed to us and work would start on a determined date at a determined time. Guy shows up late and it's another person than who gave us our quote. We are told there was an emergency with the original technician.This new technician goes about his business and at the end of the day he tells us he doesn't have the water heater we agreed on in our quote, that we would have to use an upgraded system. We were concerned this would increase the cost of the original quote and were assured that because we agreed on a price and the parts, anything extra due to shortages in parts/equipment is on Michael and Sons.Next day guy comes in with the new system to install. He says the original technician under quoted us for the original system we agreed on, so now even with this upgrade we are really getting a great deal. After he installs everything he runs the fresh air and exhaust pipes 1.5 feet below the ceiling and across the entire room then up through an old dryer exhaust access. (See photos) We immediately let him know that is not what we agreed upon and that it looked horrible. We were told the pipes would go through the ceiling into the attic, not across the room 1.5 ft below the ceiling. This guy blew up and got very angry and starts telling us there is no way it can go in the attic for various reasons. I grab a ladder, go into the attic and see that there is room to bring the pipes through the ceiling and call his bluff (he took the easiest route).The electrician then comes in, sees the mess and talks to the technician. He agreed that no homeowner would ever want the job completed in that way, and just because it was the easy way to run the pipes, it was not the right way. The technician starts to calm down with this electrician agreeing it looks horrible. The technician asks to come back a week later to fix it but wants us to pay now. NOPE. We tell him not until the job is done right. He then goes on to say he has done 4k worth of work and we need to pay now. My husband and I said sorry, we were quoted $3400, so it not our fault for the upgraded system or the extra labor he had to do for taking an easier way to run the pipes that looked horrible and wasn't what we agreed on. He apologizes, then agrees to leave, come finish the work later, and run the payment when it is all complete.Finally the technician completes the work and it looks great! (see photo) If only it was done this way the first time! When we go to pay the bill is in fact $4,000 and we start asking why the bill has changed from our original quote. The guy says that is the cost and he can't pull up our quote.. interesting. We go to our email to check our quote and it was never sent to us. I ask the technician to pull up our account info and for our email on our account was the email for our electrician, which is why we never received the quote. Now he is saying we have to pay and that is the original quote. I can understand a $100 difference, but we are $600 off from our original quote. CRAZY!We now call the office and they tell us they can't pull up quotes either. I find this VERY convenient. I am so appalled by the lack of professionalism and integrity with this company. I will never be hiring them again and will make sure to tell everyone we know to not use them as well. This is not a bitter customer trying to ruin the reputation of a company but a homeowner that's highly disappointed with their shady business practices and concerned for others looking to have quality work done in their home at a price they agree on.

Changed one gfci outlet in 10 minutes, for $360. Polite and timely, but not cost effective.

The technician came out and assess the problem and fixed the problem within the same day. He realized that the builders did not install the sink properly and made sure the sink had the necessary parts to be bolted in the wall and took care of the small leak.

Jody was phenomenal in his demeanor and knowledge of plumbing! However, my concern was after I sent the company video and pictures of my situation and it was obvious I have jet pump and a well, they sent a person to tell me they don't repair jet pumps or well issues and charged me for that. I already knew there was a leak in my well and the check valve may need to be replaced.

Team member (Brian) was very courteous, prompt and professional. He explained the issues without being condescending and took his time to resolve all of my concerns.

A new toilet was installed today! The technician was on time, courteous and completed the work as expected.

The Electrician, Carlos is one of the best and smartess Electrician's I've ever met! He really knows his stuff! If you want a job done right concerning anything dealing with electrical, contact Michael & Son's and make sure you ask for Carlos because he is the absolute BEST! Our son purchased a house that was sold as is. We contacted Michael & Son's and Carlos was sent out. He upgraded the electrical system as the seller had done things in the house that was a fire hazard and not up to code. Carlos made sure that the things that needed to be on separate lines were taken care of. He installed what was needed to accommodate as required and brought everything up to code. We had complete plumbing done as well through Michael and Son's and Carlos came back on another day to put the electricity to the new LowBoy water heater that was installed by the plumber. Carlos stood behind everything that was promised. He did an outstanding job! He also installed a light over where my Son's kitchen sink will be at no additional charge. Carlos is very kind, professional, confident and displays a sense of pride in his work. He also cleaned up after himself. Going forward, if I have any need for an electrician, I'll be contacting Michael & Son's and asking for Carlos! Once my Son's cabinets are installed, Carlos will be coming back to install the receptacle on the end of the cabinet. Carlos went over everything with me that he did even took me to the panel box to show me where he labeled all the new installs at the breaker box panel. If I could give Carlos a rating greater than the allowed 5 stars, he'd get a 10 from me. He made me feel safe for our son and his family that will be living in this house. If you want a darn good Electrician, call Michael & Son's and ask for Carlos! The Price was high, but for all that Carlos did, it was money well spent because he saved our son from what could have been a tragedy with the way the seller had things crossed up and out of code. I checked the service not listed box because he did such a wide variety of things that I didn't know if what I checked, covered everything!Thank you Carlos and Thank you Michael & Son's! All I can say is give this guy a raise if he's not been given one because he's good! No, I've not been paid to say this! This is the absolute Truth and my Lord and Savior knows it!!!!

We contacted the company in the first week of July and paid $69 to come out and bid a four outlet outdoor box with a trench and a separate two prong outdoor outlet (approximately $3,000 of work). They quoted us the price and we signed the contract to allow them to do the work and were informed that someone would call to schedule the work the following week. After a week passed no one called so we called and scheduled ourselves, the earliest available appointment was 6 weeks out. The day of the appointment we received a call asking what we needed to have done. All the information on the job and the required equipment was clearly written on the contract yet they acted as though they had never been on site. We were then told that there was no way they could complete the project on the day of the appointment because they would need to go rent a trench digger and call to have lines marked. All of this should have been done prior to the scheduled appointment. Six week lead times are understandable but not being prepared for the job when it comes is not. We will not call again.

After having 2 visit with parts being replaced and my air still not working as efficient as it was before it stopped working, my third visit changed everything. I called and spoke to a very friendly young lady in customer service who promised me that they would make sure that my AC would work efficiently. They were true to their promise. I had a different technician this time, Mr. Byron Jackson, the game changer. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. I was somewhat surprising because he had only been with the company 3 months and was still in training. He came to Michael and Son with 10yrs experience. He read the temperature of all my downstairs vents to make sure the temperature was good. He serviced my outside unit and rechecked the reading to make everything was functioning appropriately. He took his time and checked everything. He also educated me on the importance of scheduled maintenance.I gave Michael and Son 5 stars ? only because of Mr. Jackson and the very nice customer representative. They both were friendly and very professional. My unit is only 3yrs old and to have parts needing to be replaced on two separate visit and needing a third very was problematic to me. I thank God, it was all under warranty. Mr. Jackson redeemed my respect for Michael and Son. Sometimes you don't know what to expect until you get the unexpected. I was truly pleased with my service today and my AC is functioning as if it was new. Thank you very much Mr. Byron Jackson.

This is a great company who clearly hires the best, most trustworthy employees. My rep was Jim Fetter, he was super enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable and most importantly he was very responsive. I had a quote written up by Jim on Wednesday and by today he had me set up with a window air unit until my AC unit is installed. I never felt like he was trying to push me over or sell me something. Defininity the type of guy to grab a beer with. I wish all sales reps were like Jim. Kudos for hiring this guy.

We've used this company a few times, always pleased with the level of service. We recently had our toilets replaced by Jody, his service is top notch. They did a two part installation, the 2nd day he came with Matt. I don't know that he was a respectful of guest property. Someone placed the toilet seat over on the bed. The bed is very very far from the toilet. Additionally the quality of Matt's caulking around the toilet look horrible where as Jody's looks great.

He was professional, on time and explained to me what the issue was and what it would cost prior to doing the work. He was a n absolute pleasure to work with and I would recommend him and this company to anyone who needs electrical work done in their home. While they are not the cheapest they definitely got the job done and we’re even able to perform same day service!

I had used Michael & Sons in January for a heating issue so when my AC went out recently I called them again. The techs are honest and I believe, tried everything they could to get the unit running. When that didn't work they set me up with someone to talk about replacement who came out quickly.

nice gentleman and nice shiny truck however after discarding the need for 1 repair and spending 3 mins looking at plug, he quoted me a cost >$230 to replace a plug with a ground connection.Feeling so gutted, feeling totally ripe off.How fast could I lose $69? Nothing was done, noting....!!! so guttedSometime you save a coffee $2.30 and there in a blink of an eye you spell over the equivalent of 30 in less than 3 mins!I knew there were a fee for 'dispatchment' and I understand the principle somehow but was never expecting a such astronomical quote when by memory other can do for about $60 /$70.there is no other word1 edit, don’t be foul that the matter has been resolved with the prompt message sent here: I replied to the email below and still did not receive neither the quote by email neither heard back after 1 day. And this cost me $73,66 Gutted and fell rip off in broad day light

I have had several services done by this company. Efficient courteous electrician. Plumbers did a fantastic job replacing old pipes that required going through several inches of concrete.. In December 2022, my 20+ yr old heating system needed a new motor. When the motor could not be repaired, the technician researched a replacement part. I decided to replace the system since my air conditioner had also become less effective in recent years. The level of service I received was 5 star from the office and each technician that assisted in the installation.

Jim was professional and kind and did a great job explaining to me exactly what was happening with my unit. He fielded several of my phone calls and answered all questions with patience. I am pleased and a satisfied customer.

They helped us with a toilet issue. We called, made the appointment and they were here the next day within the time frame they promised. Both Jody and Rico were very professional and courteous. They kept me informed of what they were doing, why and the cost before they proceeded. I highly recommend them.

He performed a thorough inspection and cleaning of my furnace system, advised me of his findings, and made a couple recommendations. This is an update from my previous review which was strictly based on the sales representative and not on the work. The installation has commenced and I feel it necessary to share this experience with you all. I have updated my rating to two stars because, at the very least, I guess the technicians are prompt about coming back as often as needed while the NEW system is in disrepair.This installation has, so far, taken three visits (starting on Tuesday, 8/30/2022). Today is Saturday, 9/3/2022. The errors and omissions from the first installation team are not yet resolved. A different technician from the original installers is now working to “fix” whatever missteps were taken from the initial implementation. The first team of installers (Dillan and Tyler) obviously rushed the job. At one point, my mother (who is a senior) and who was watching the initial installation asked why the guys were not replacing a particular part. They responded that “it was not needed”. My mom objected by questioning a decision to leave any portion of an old system to exist with a brand-new unit! The men had to then leave the premises, purchase the part, and come back to continue the job. After a day of observation, we noticed that the thermostat control did not appear to be regulating the temperature to the desired levels. A different technician was dispatched who explained that the problem had something to do with the fan. He admitted that the system, in its current configuration, was not capable of cooling the house more than 4 degrees without tweaking. He spent several hours modifying the system and installed the new thermostat. Before leaving, this tech explained how the programming of the thermostat works. Another day of testing ensued.After learning how to read a brand-new thermostat which not only registers the room temperature, but also informs about the time the system will take to cool the house to the desired temperature. Pretty cool stuff, right? Except for the fact that the thermostat was indicating that it would take two hours to cool the house 4 degrees! In addition, the temperature never cooled to lower than 74o. My mother’s house has two zones. The other system operates as you would expect. Lowering the temperature, cools the house to the desired state. During today’s visit, we were informed that, yet again, a different part was omitted from the original installation.In the city where we live, the county is required to certify new HVAC installations in homes. My mom is hoping for a complete resolution to these on-going issues before a city inspector is called to fail this installation. How many times will this system have to be tweaked before we are comfortable that we received quality workmanship? What will happen when we must start heating the house for the winter? More corrective action? OMG!-------------------------Jim came by this morning to offer an HVAC installation consultation for my mother. He was so nice and so thorough in his explanation of the various options. Although we haven't completed our research, I am compelled to leave a review of the professionalism that we experienced by the representative from Michael & Son. We have one more service provider to meet but I will say that honesty and integrity are an important part of the equation!

Was charged 346.94 to install a faucet I purchased at Lowe's. Pretty hefty price for a 25 minute job.Had my wife and I not been moving I would have backed out. I recommend you ask what the cost will be before hiring this company.

Had an electrical issue and Mark called an hour before arriving which was great. He arrived 10 minutes early and was able to start while I was on a meeting call. He waited patiently for my call to end before closing out the ticket and providing a summary of the fix.

Had appointment on the 25th of May just to do a summer service. My unit is about 10 years old but still working, today my husband heard a loud boom coming for our unit out side. Now it is not working outside its running inside but nothing from the unit outside, so it's doing nothing. I called to have them come out and the earliest they can come is Wednesday because it has to be the same tech. Oh and I forgot to mention I paid 189.00 for their home care program where I am a priority customer. But the earliest is Wednesday. I know my unit is getting old but I didn't have any problems until I had it services for summer. Do you think they do something to make it quit, so that they will have to sale you a new unit? Oh but luckily I a priority customer so I get 10% off a new unit.Ain't life grand!

Well any time that a repairman pulls up to your home with a wave and a smile sets the pace for me! Mr. Gilbert was one of the most kindest, respectful, as well as extremely knowledgeable in his field that I have ever met! From the beginning of the job till the end he kept me aware of everything that he was doing. He explained what went wrong with my panel as well as my hot water heater. He allowed me to ask as many questions that I needed to and he was more than happy to answer me. In this day and age where you’re not sure if you are going to get an honest repair person I can truthfully say that Mr. Gilbert did 100% everything that he needed to do to make sure that my panel was fixed correctly and that I had hot water running again! Because of Mr. Gilbert, I have referred Michael and Son Services to my entire family and all of my friends for any electrical work that needs to be done! Zo was great and efficient; very helpful and appreciated his thoroughness. The cost to fix however was exorbitant. The replacement plumbing part was ~$50 and the labor was $350 for a very low invasive procedure. When I contacted customer service, they were unable to assist me in any way. But Zo was professional and appreciated his efforts

Nathan Sager was at my home today to fix my tub faucet. He provided exceptional service! He explained everything he did clearly, he was polite and professional, and when I told him I had a conference call he worked around my needs.When he was leaving, he showed me where he brought a package in for me that had been delivered while I was on the call and told me he noticed my puppy was chewing on her dog tag in her kennel (he was worried about her choking).It was a small thing, but just those kind gestures made me feel so good about him and your company. I recently moved from Washington DC to NC. I used Michael and Sons regularly to service and maintain my home when in DC. When I found myself without power and getting no help from the utility company I was excited to see that M&S was also in this area. If possible my interaction with Cody today made me even more of a fan and loyal customer. He was attentive, kind and empathetic to my situation when others were not. While to him and others I’m sure this would be considered a simple fix but to me it was the turning point of actually being able to enjoy my new home. He took the time to explain not only what he was doing at the time but the why so that I would be prepared if it happened again. In a series of events that have gone wrong over the last few days it was nice to have something go right.

I needed a box installed in my ceiling so that I could install a pendant light I had bought online. Spoke with another company that wouldn't even quote me their dispatch fee without a full customer profile meaning they wanted all my info so they could market to me. I said no thanks, hung up, and called Michael & Son instead. These guys were transparent before I even gave them any of my info. I got text confirmation of my appointment which was great.Zachary came out the very next day (today) and took great care of me. He called before coming to the appointment, was prompt in arriving, installed the box, and was on his way in less than 30 minutes, at a reasonable price.I just bought this home a year ago but do have many planned improvements in mind. When I need an electrician in the future, I will be calling Michael & Son.

Austin came out for a furnace inspection. He called prior to let me know that he was en route, confirm the appointment reason, and asked where he should park his vehicle. Upon arrival he was masked (much appreciated), confirmed the reason for the appointment, and gave me the opportunity to ask questions and notify him of any concerns. Austin completed a thorough inspection. I appreciate his professionalism and knowledge.

Your technician was very knowledgeable of my problem and he gave me great ideals of what to do to solution my problem.

Had a technician come out in August to do an inspection. They just said that it's low on frion and needs to be refilled every 3 years so I paid $300 for frion. There was no mention of any other issues that could cause the problem. Now the same issue is happening 6 months later where a new technician (from a different company) came out and said that there is a leak and 0 frion left. I called Michael and Son's back because I was upset that they would just fill the frion without mentioning the possibility for a leak. It was not stated anywhere in the report that their technician recommended a leak inspection and they never did. Not only were Michael and Sons unwilling to give me any sort of ball park estimate on what a leak inspection would cost, they also refused to waive a dispatch fee if I was willing to pay for the inspection. I got no sense that they value customer service or empathize with my situation. Where I would have originally recommended them, I am now extremely disappointed in their service.

I have used Michael & Son Services twice this year. They are very friendly and extra helpful. Today Jeff was very professional, and explained in detail everything I ask. They are definitely my go to company for my heating and AC.

James was extremely knowledgeable and personable to work with.David, Chad and Paul arrived 2 days later on Monday to replace my system......so respectful of my floors, carpet and walls with transport of new heater to attic......David even spent time with me demonstrating the new Ecobee 5 smart thermostat which was so appreciated.Upon leaving, it did not even look like such a large job occurred, with the exception of the brand new unit. Yard was immaculate and they even replaced the iron fence they needed to take down to do the job. They took the time to access the placement of the new hook ups .....moved them to the other side of the unit to allow easier entry. They even moved my hose reel so it was within reach. They tested both systems after installation. They made a great team..... very professional! My house is so much more comfortable inside. I highly recommend Michael and Sons.

Marques has completely renewed my faith in HVAC technicians. He called and texted prior to coming, showed up on time and explained what he was ABOUT to do before doing it every step of the way. They were here today 12/20/21 to give us an estimate. We have another estimator tomorrow so we haven't signed contract yet. Great service from Michael & Son company, and the technician named Dante Morgan, April 2022, Charlotte, NC area. In the course of routine annual maintenance on two HVAC systems in my home, Dante discovered a couple minor issues that could have become major issues in future. He fixed. He also spent an additional 1.5 hours to address an air flow issue that optimized the sound of the system - previously was too loud because flow was too high. A successful day for my home and family! Austin and Marquis did an excellent job with the inspection and tune up of the HVAC unit. They were friendly, professional and very thorough in the maintenance/inspection. Austin explained every step of the process and advised me a part on the heater will need to be replaced soon and the cost of replacing it.He also went over the 2 Maintenance Programs available thru Michael & Sons. Because of his detailed explanation I intend to sign up for one of the programs after the first of the year.Both Austin and Marquis were upbeat and very trustworthy. I believed what they said about the heating repair and the cost of it. I will have the repair done after the refinance of my house is complete in January 2022 and request one or both of them to complete the repair.I highly recommend Michael and Sons and Austin and Marquis in particular, for all HVAC work, plumbing and electrical needs. Those guys did a great job!

Plumber came out to give estimate then realized he gave the incorrect estimate. I’ve already purchased the house now. And I am unable to go back to ask sellers to pay for repairs because I was given incorrect estimate. Realtor is calling now to speak with manager. The plumber was upset and left. I called Michael & Son on a Friday afternoon and explained that I had an emergency plumbing problem that I needed them to come and fix. This was the exact same issue that they came and repaired 1.5 years earlier. I was told they were not able to get someone out until the next day, which I wasn’t happy about but was understanding. The next day rolls around and the service gentleman came out within the window of time I was given. I was expecting the problem to be fixed but was told that no repairs could be done and was only given an estimate for repairs. I am now on day 3 of no running water at my home. I respectfully pointed out to the gentleman who came out that there is a yellow decal on the van that says: ‘servicing 24/7’. This simply is not true. I expect better service and do not plan on using them again.

We're in the process of replacing our HVAC and Ryan was incredibly knowledgable of the problems we were having and honest in his recommendations. I'm no expert so he easily could have upsold us on equipment we didnt really need for our home. But he went through explaining our current issues, how they related to each component of our HVAC system, and showed us physical evidence on the unit that supported his hypothesis. It was like a crash course in HVAC with zero sales pressure, making me feel way more comfortable handling such a major purchase decision. Ryan's approach of taking the time to teach clients about the problems they're experiencing, why they matter, and making honest recommendations are all reasons to choose Michael & Son for your HVAC needs.We had a similar experience three months ago when we hired their company out to do some fan installs where we didnt have any electrical. Thank you Nathan for coming out today as scheduled 11-13-21 and installed new American Standard toilet. He replaced defective Kohler Cinnmaron model toilet installed in 10/2018 by Micahal& Son. Nathan called promptly 1 hour before time arrive window 10:30-1:00pm.He installed new toilet with ease, new extra thick wax ring, leveled with plastic shims, and cleaned floor area at toilet base. He layed towel down to protect floor and keep work area clean. He was very professional and explained that flange was unlevel and that the plastic shims and extra thick wax ring would resolve any issues. He placed level on toilet tank bowl to insure level with shims installed at base. He stated if any unresolved issues please call and he will come back out. I was please with his detailed level of service after all the issues with previous installers and old management that haven't resolved leak at base of toilet and tank into bowl. Also that Nathan uses plastic shims not wood shims like other installers and used extra thick wax ring. All flanges above floor level are post to be extra thick. But glad I didn't have to tell him this. The plastic shims also take moisture better and hold up longer at base. Kirk new manager agreed to replace toilet to avoid any more unnecessary trips. Wish previous management would have taken this approach when process of illumination was done as protocol. Since we spent 10,000 to have all new plumbing in house 10/2018 new toilet, faucets, water heater, filtration system,ect..This toilet had given us leaking issues since installation 10/2018. Thank you Kirk Sager!!!! This would have saved the company money prior today reinstall, since the toilet has return policy and warranty. So we replaced seal inside bowl, cleaned canister in tank, releveled and still running toilet prior to having replaced today. The base was leaking and tank was leaking into bowl running off and on. Michael & Son came out mutiple times before new management. I also called Kohler for other tips. Thank you manager Kirk Sager getting this scheduled and Nathan for replacing toilet today. I am glad Michael & Son has new management now and I feel I can trust this company now with all my plumbing needs. I recommend that you have all customers go with traditional flapper in tank than new ones with solid canisters. The canisters have to be adjusted and chain gets hung on them. Also they have to be cleaned periodically. Only time will tell if American Standard Esteem Vortex model has any issues with traditional flapper. But thankful Michael & Son did all this at NO charge today. We chose American Standard with EsteemVortex as model sold at Lowe's. This one flushes much better, so hopefully it keeps bowl cleaner withpower flushing water technology. Nathan thank youfor doing an awesome job! Called to get my toilet disconnected temporarily to get flooring installed, guy first could not find my building, I stressed numbers are on the buildings, after having to spoon feed him where I am, where numbers clearly marked, I walked him up to my place. I asked how he was doing... nothing.. grunted. We rode up in elevator awkwardly as he was not friendly, from start I had bad feeling. To simply disconnect a toilet and reinstall after work, he was going to charge me 620! I said I wanted to speak to his manager about price, he said I could not do that. I said they you can go. I later called the company to complain, and they said a manager would call me to go over pricing. Haven't heard from anyone. Found another company more reasonable and FRIENDLY too, figure that. Please do not use this company, they are a fraud!

Your company's customer service is excellent. My heating unit was service by Mr. Dubois Gordon. He was very professional from the moment he entered my home. He took time to find out what type of problems I was experiencing. Once he completed the service check he took time to explain how my unit was performing and what he would recommend for me to do to get my unit operating at optimum levels. He was very thorough and did not pressure sale. He respected my decision to not move forward with his recommendations. My water heater was leaking and flooded out the entire area where it was stored. I called Michael & Son and they got someone to check it out same day in a matter of hours. Luke, the plumber they sent did a phenomenal job and was able to replace the tank same day so I was basically never without hot water. He was very professional and I couldn't be more pleased. Came out and serviced AC that was not cooling. Said it needed Freon. Paid $950 for service. They left and AC still isn’t working. They came back out and said I need a new coil $2,800 plus labor. However, they are out of Coils so since it is August I should buy a &13k air conditioner. Unethical and a rip off!!! Stay far away!!

I have never left a negative review before so this is new to me. But I have never had a more negative experience with a company before in my life.I contacted Michael and Sons about fixing a broken pilot light assembly on my water heater(A simple, 1-2 hour fix). They sent out a plumber and I talked with him and described the problem. Stating that I needed him to install a new assembly (a $15 part). [Side note: I work in the real estate business and own rental properties all over the southeast. I have repaired many water heaters in my life so I know the components and operation. But because of work, I did not have time to fix this issue]The plumber they sent was the most rude individual I have run across in some time. He told me that I needed a new water heater, completely new gas lines, a new vent pipe, and a new gas valve. A total cost of around $4,000. And when I told him that I don’t want any of that, I just need him to install a new pilot light assembly, his response was “listen up, this water heater is over 10 years old and it will not work unless you replace all of these items, the gas valve is completely broken!”I asked him to describe how the gas valve was broken and he pointed to the broken pilot light assembly... he was trying to convince me that the gas line valve is the same thing as the pilot light assembly, which is a bold face lie.He then stormed out of the house and told me to “fix it myself since I’m the one with all the answers” and then told me he waved the $70 trip charge because my money was no good to him.This was the most Blatant scam attempt I have ever seen in my life. If I was someone with no knowledge of water heaters, he would have scammed me for $4,000 that was not needed.Ps: I bought a pilot light assembly at Home Depot and installed it in 45 mins. My hot water heater has worked fine ever since.

Zo was the name of the guy who came and cleaned out our water system. The roots of a tree that was in our front yard had grew into our pipes . Zo dug out the root, cut the roots and replaced the pipes . He did an EXCELLENT job!!! He started at 9am and he just left at 6:18pm! He was professional, timely and efficient . My mother and I very very pleased with his service today. Because of Zo we would absolutely use your services again

Did a good job with the AC tune up, but said I was low on refrigerant and may want to recharge before the weather gets hot. Total would be $311! Tune up charge was $49. Passed on the recharging. According to them, no refrigerant necessary.

Our Michael and Sons plumber was punctual, knowledgeable and professional. The toilet is no longer running continuously. Hurray! We have more work to be done, nothing needing immediate attention, so we will hear back about service requirements and pricing.

Where do I even begin. I’ve used Michael and Son before for plumbing but when our HVAC stopped working, they came out. From the very beginning they were extremely straight forward and upfront with everything especially the person who did the initial diagnostic. He answered all my questions even when I thought I was being a pest. He made sure I understood before we proceeded with anything. We decided we had to change the system and not spend another summer in Charlotte suffering. James came out next with our options, and let me tell you. James is phenomenal!!! Yes he’s a sales person, but he was extremely nice and was also straight forward with us. Two days later we had a brand new system installed by Paul, Chad and David! These guys are awesome! Anthony was the technician who came to my residence to access a moisture issue in my crawlspace. He did a very thorough inspection and was very conscientious as he detailed his findings. He was extremely knowledgeable, evidenced by explanation of the problem and recommended repair options. Amazing service! We had a chandelier installed and received a price quote for recessed lighting in 2 rooms, and 2 HVAC tune-ups. The technician who installed the chandelier, Mark, was very professional and knowledgeable! I would rate him 5 stars for his service and advice. I would also recommend Michael & Sons to anyone looking for quality work. I decided to give a 5 star rating because of the great service provided, but regarding the price I would have give 4 stars. When I received the estimate, I was not expecting the total amount. I requested a price range from the company prior to the home visit, but was told they could not give a quote over the phone for the services we were requesting. I found Michael & Sons thru a Home Advisor search, and saw other companies that provided an up-front price range. Despite not giving an over the phone quote, Michael and Sons had a promotion for my area to waive the service call fee and I was able to get a free quote during the visit. Thank you.

I had this company come out mid December to look at my Carrier AC unit, the unit was throwing a Code 179. 179 is most likely a faulty board. The first tech came out and had no ide what to do, so after 3 hours he said he would be back out the next day and will warranty all the boards since they are under Carrier warranty until JULY of 2023. I still got charged 90 for the truck fee.The next day I get a call saying another Tech is coming out to look at the system, I waited until my scheduled time and received a call saying the teach was going to be late and they needed to reschedule. That was finem I understand stuff happens.The next day I had been waiting for a teach to come out again to look at the boards,, I get a phone call again saying they were going to have to reschedule again. I told their dispatch I am not going to wait and I will call another company. Dispatch told me they would give me a call back in 10 minutes.I got a phone call 10 minutes later saying the tech would be to my house around 6pm.Tech arrived and looked at the unit and told me, they would not warranty the boards even under Carriers warranty as they did not install the work. He then proceeded to run other test and diagnostics. I asked the tech numerous times, where are we at in price while he was changing out parts to stuff. The reply I got was I'm not going to charge you too much, it wont be that bad. He ended up running a new line, changing out the capacitor that was changed out the previous year. The system finally kicked on and he handed me the tablet with a bill for 800 dollars including another TRUCK fee. They are the ones who rescheduled due to the first tech not knowing the system. I ended up paying the 800 as it being 1am in the morning by the time the tech was done, and I had work in 4 hours.A week later the system is throwing the same code all over again. Outdoor unit system communication fault I called Carrier and let them know I had a company that was Carrier certified come out and look at the system. I was informed the system is in warranty until 2023 and this company should of warrantied the board without any issue. Now I am out 800 and I am going to have to have another company come out and look at the boards to warranty them. It has been running on heat strips for the last 2 weeks.

I called to ask if they could help hook up a natural gas grill. They assured me they could. To their credit, the lady on the phone was very nice and they had someone here fast. The tech was also very friendly and professional, but unfortunately didn't really have any expertise about this type of job and had to defer all questions and quotes to a remote supervisor. I explained that I just needed a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter and didn't feel comfortable working with gas lines myself, which is why I called them. What should have been a simple adapter fix turned into a quote for almost $500 to hook up a new connection kit that runs about $60 at Lowe's. The tech said he was bound to the remote supervisor's quote and couldn't do anything else (maybe he was actually capable of helping but was prevented by the supervisor? No way to tell for sure). Unwilling to pay the far-too-high quoted job, I just paid the $70 fee for him to come and do nothing.

Prompt response when I called for an appointment. I got quotes for a variety of plumbing work. I decided to move forward with moving an outdoor spigot to a new location. The technician Luke was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Pricing is probably on the higher side. Quality of work was good, providing photographic images of the before and after work.

These guys came out to do a clean out of my main plumbing air vent for the house. They are professional and thorough. I both understood and saw everything they did and the reasons behind it. Would highly recommend these service minded guys for any job.

I’ve used Michael & Son in the last for HVAC repairs so I felt confident trying them for an electrical issue with my doorbell. Maybe I should’ve asked more questions, but I was birder they impression that the $69 service call covered determining what the issue was. I was shocked when I learned there would be an additional diagnostic fee. I basically paid $245 for an electrician to tell me that my doorbell was broken, although I already knew that (and for free!).I was also surprised that the person who made my appointment told me that the service person would install a doorbell for me if they determined hat it needed to be replaced, but the electrician said he wouldn’t install anything it provided by Michael & Son because it wouldn’t be covered by their warranty.Both of the people with whom I spoke were courteous and professional (the reason for 2 stars), but I still feel like I was taken for a $245 ride.

Air Force, my service technician, was incredibly helpful in solving my plumbing problem. He was professional, courteous and skilled and I will ask for his assistance in the future if another problem presents!

I had a 1972 Gas Furnace that the pilot light kept going on. I called Michael and Sons and Bruce came out. He found that the furnace had a crack in it and it was leaking Carbon Monoxide. Bruce was very professional and just a nice guy. He was adamant about us not turning the furnace back on. He seemed sincerely worried about the whole thing. We felt so comfortable that we decided we would not get any other quotes and chose Michael and Sons to put in a furnace and AC unit. AC Unit was not quote as old as the furnace but needed to be replaced too. So in less than 2 days we had Curtis and his guys come out and replace the furnace and AC unit in one day. I was amazed. Also they were super professional, knowledgeable and just nice young men. Even though i would have rather not shelled out money right after Christmas this truly was a great experience. I highly recommend them and especially the guys I worked with!

Austin was the Service Technician who came by to check on our clogged kitchen pipe. He was very thorough with the diagnostics and informed me every step of the process. We had an older J or P strap and we decided to change it to a newer version for an easier access in the future! He made sure everything was in great working condition and had me checked it to make sure there were no moisture in the connections. He wasn't only great at his job technically, but exemplified great manners as well! I would highly recommend Austin!

I don't know how he was selected for my repairs but I am thankful that he was sent to me. Jonathan is very professional and his electrical knowledge is superb.He took time to assess the situation and explained what the issues were then offered me several options on how to fix my electrical problems. It was good to have a repairman who takes pride in his work and cares about the safety of his customers. He worked diligently to make the necessary electrical repairs. It was quick and easy to make an appointment. The technician they sent out was knowledgeable and respectful. However, their service prices are ridiculously high. They wanted $540 to change 3 outdoor outlets with bubble covers and a ground fault receptive. They also wanted >$300 to replace 2 outdoor lights.

Zoning of Michael & Son added a PRV with shut off valve on my main water line and replaced a shut off valve on water line to one of my toilets. He was on time, very personable and did a great job.

Luke was great! He was on time and professional. I like the fact that services were available on Saturday's. My hot water pressure wasn't working properly. On 7/15/2021, Lal Zuala and Zo replaced an irreparably damaged, and possibly 100-year-old pipe, at my home. They called when they were on the way and arrived when they said they would. Despite the oppressively hot and humid day (and having to work in a crawl space that, undoubtedly smelled like sewage), they were always pleasant and professional even when I peeked outside, occasionally---but hopefully not too much--- to see how they (and the plumbing job) were progressing. For approximately 8 hours, Lal Zuala and Zo worked like a well-oiled machine: calling and responding to each other, alternating tasks (if someone needed to fetch a part off-site), and shuttling new and old pipe to and fro. They never complained about how difficult the job was, how smelly it was, how hot it was, or anything of the sort. They took one lunch break (which seemed far TOO short, to me) and devoted their entire time to the task at hand. I doubt they even took a personal call!When I learned that my job required an unexpected piece that was not included in my original estimate, Lal Zuala patiently explained the situation and my options. I was quickly able to identify the most economical and best choices for my needs due to his readily available pricing. In the end, Lal Zuala and Zo took the bad pipe from under my house and away with them (which I very much appreciated), replaced the soil around my flowerbed (which had been carefully set aside on a tarp), and completely cleaned up after themselves. When they were done, the only thing they left behind was a brand-new cleanout plug (and two incredibly happy customers).Over the past month, I have had nearly half a dozen repairmen to visit my home for various reasons. While all were good, those from Michael’s and Sons (both plumbing AND electric) were among the best. However, Lal Zuala and Zo, were exceptional. If I had to do all over again, I would definitely go with Michael’s Plumbing for the job AND would specifically request Lal Zuala and Zo, by name.

My technician Bryan was very helpful and upfront with me when letting me know I needed a new furnace. I was approved for the furnace loan the day we was there. The guys came that following Monday to install. They forgot to hook my A/C back up to my new thermostat, but once I reported the issue, they came the next day and made sure everything was working properly. Everything is great now!

Anthony was very professional and conscientious. He explained all work that needed to be completed and found the right solution to fix our water main. Having this leak during the time of COVID was a bit unsettling , but he wore protective equipment at all times and maintained distance when he needed to talk to us. Michael & Son provides timely and courteous service. However, this service comes at an extreme premium. I had asked them fix an existing light fixture in my kitchen. I had popped the ground and therefore the housing had to be pulled down and the wiring reconnected. I was not comfortable pulling the unit down myself, so I opted to call a professional. The technician (Bryce) arrived at 8:00am. Bryce quoted me an initial figure of $450, said it was an tier 2 job quote. I communicated that was ridiculous. He communicated since I was a new customer, he would look for discounts. He communicated $245 with the discounts. I again said to much. Bryce said that was the best he could do. I begrudgingly agreed to this estimate. At 8:32am, Bryce informs me he is done. The light fixture is reassembled and the light is working properly. Bryce did a nice job. However, as a customer, $245 for 30 minutes of work is outrageous.

I emphasized 3 times with the initial person i set up appointment with that we needed a plumber with experience w Toto Neorest toilet. The very nice plumber that came had no experience or idea how to fix. Our first appointment was for yesterday and didn't show up. When i called found out her would be several hours late so rescheduled for today between 2 and 4. He arrived at 4:30. He was very nice and i felt bad that he was so misled by his company. He said someone else will contact me that knows how to work on auto Totos. Finally, i resent getting a text asking for a review. Would have preferred email so i could more easily type on a keyboard.

Had quoted price of estimate after sharing details of what was to be evaluated for the estimate. Following the estimate, we were informed that the ESTIMATE charge would be higher than originally quoted and that the other portion for which we were to receive an estimate would be an additional charge. I had a very unfortunate experience with a plumber service call to repair a toilet for my 83 year old mother. It’s taken 3 weeks to get someone from Michael & Sons to really hear and understand my concerns. Finally today after numerous calls a customer service rep named Josh and Megan in Administration heard me and listened to me. I appreciate your help Josh and only because of YOU and Megan’s assistances my 1 star review should be a 5 star.

James was here to evaluate my hvac system and give me an estimate on an update. He was extremely personable, professional, and helpful.

We had an issue with our thermostats and called Michael & Son. They sent out Thomas within the hour who quickly found that the issue was a blown fuse and promptly replaced it. Thomas was absolutely awesome. We had great conversation and he even showed me how to replace the fuse if it happens again.Can't recommend these guys enough, and make that double for Thomas.

I had an emergency on Friday when water came pouring out of my toilet. I turned off the water and called Michael & Son. A couple of hours later Luke arrived, talked me through the possibilities of what the issue was letting me know that snaking the pipe to the septic system might not fix the issue and I would have to call to have the septic tank drained. He proceeded to remove the toilet and snake the line. It did fix the issue. He put everything back together and took time to chat on a personal level. Luke is very good at his job and I appreciate the quick service.

I have just completed a home restoration project, in which Michael & Son Charlotte was involved. It took 5 months to complete. The technician Chris Black was the person called unexpectedly on a Friday afternoon and evening to start the repairs, to my air conditioning system. I was away on vacation and my daughter, who is an interior designer was attending to the problem. Mr. Black whom I have since met, was AMAZING. There was significant water damage to the first and second floor, caused by a crack in the drain pan, of the air conditioning system located in the attic. He had to work in a Very Warm atmosphere, because the air conditioning system had to be shut off for the repairs. There were many commercial fans placed in the house to dry it out to prevent mold. Mr. Black had to return to house the following week to replace and install new parts and additional system safety devices. Meanwhile Mr. Black remained in contact with me in Vermont updating me throughout this process. He was very kind, knowledgeable and professional and completed the work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend him and Michael and Son. I have contracted with them to perform cleaning and service for my air conditioning and heating systems.

Charged me $300 to replace a ceiling fan. Technician spent less than an hour in total. All material was mine. Their business model seems to be showing up at customers' house and quote a ridiculously high price. If customer agrees to the price, they get a big pay day. If they don't, Michael and son charges them a service call fee anyway (all for doing nothing but quoting a high price).Tried to contact their office about the charge. Was told a different department would get back to me and that never happened.

The parts took longer to ship than I had hoped but when they arrived Mark came the next business day and finished the job quickly. Would highly recommend these guys.

Very poor service . The electric switch has same issue 2 days after it was fixed and I was charged $300 to fix it . Very shoddy work. Definitely would not recommend.

Devon came out and was very professional and knowledgeable. He installed our light fixture and also took time to explain ways they could also help with future electrical and plumbing needs.

Steven by far made a great impression from the start of he visit to the end. Very professional the entire time. Respected our space and worked relentlessly to resolve our issues. He was willing to provide a ton of input on the upkeep of out home in order to avoid any other issues. My kids felt safe around him Which means a great deal. Personalable individual, where he felt comfortable to share some of his experience raising a small child. It’s always refreshing to meet someone going through similar experiences. Sheldon, with Michael and Son Charlotte, did a great job on our recent hot water heater installation. We had another company come out prior to Michael and Son, and we were not impressed so we called Michael and Son for a second estimate. Sheldon was very polite, professional, and did a great job answering all our questions and breaking down the costs for us. Sheldon did an excellent installation job and we are happy we went with Michael and Son.

I called Michael & Son Plumbing at approximately 9:45 AM Sunday morning. I was assured a plumber would come that day to unclog the toilets, shower and tub that were all backed up in the Blakeney area of Charlotte, NC. They took my credit card info to charge $169 for an emergency/Sunday call. I received an email to confirm they would come between 6:00pm - 11:59 PM. Their dispatch operator said a tech may come before 6:00 pm, and in any case, would call 30 minutes before arrival. I advised her to call my tenant and gave her the number.My tenant called me at 12:40 pm, to ask for the plumbing company's phone number. He called them several times afterward to see if they would give him an arrival time. He called me Sunday night at 10:20 to tell me no one came ever came. When he called their office, he was told that a tech came to his house at 6:00 pm. There is a door bell and it's a small ranch house and the family was home, expecting a plumber. No one came or called them. The lady at Michael & Son's office called their tech, who then said, they didn't come, but they called my number. I have caller I.D. and Voice Mail and no one called me. I was home all day. I also asked why they couldn't come before that night before 11:59 pm, per their email. She said they would not but would come at the house at 8:00 AM Monday. At 8:00 AM when they still had not arrived, I called their office. The dispatch said they had to go to their office to pick up equipment at 8:00 AM on Brookshire Blvd. The plumber finally arrived at 9:00 AM. unclogged the lines at the clean-out and charged $801. They wanted to put a camera in the sewer line and charge $1125. This business does not have 24/7 service and their employees make false claims about customers. This is unacceptable.

I signed up for a 'gold member' service plan (or something like that) that got me a year's worth of AC/Heat inspections, a plumbing inspection and an electrical inspection, plus a discount on new work & a warranty on existing components. It turned out to be a good investment for me this year as we were shaking out some AC problems. Jonathan came for the electrical inspection and found a bad breaker, a loose outlet connection and did the install of a whole-house surge protector. As usual with Michael and Sons, they gave a complete estimate up front, got approval for the work, took good care of the issues and cleaned up properly (even wearing little booties in the house to keep from tracking dirt in). The expense when done was just as estimated and I was very happy with the work.

I had to take a moment to write a review on the outstanding service I just received from Michael & Son! My AC went out in the middle of the night and Shane Adkins showed up early the next morning to not only diagnose and fix the problem but give me additional information to take care of my unit. I appreciate his high level of professionalism and friendly personality, which I know is a reflection of this company in general! Michael & Son will certainly be my go-to company for service needs. Austin was very thorough and the most pleasant young man. When he returned the next day to complete the repair he better than on time and had to wait a few minutes for me to return home. He explained what he was doing and why the process takes so long and other situations that may be happening with the water heater and watch out for. I would definitely have him return for any issues we have in the future whatever it may be.

I had a scheduled time slot from 4-6 on a Sunday. I received an update that afternoon saying that the electrician was running behind on a job and would be later in the time slot. The technician called me at 7:15 (an hour and 15 minutes after my scheduled window) and asked if I’d like for him to still come, and I said yes (I’m understanding of delays in this line of work, so I really wasn’t too frustrated about him being behind). However, the technician then said that because it was going to be such a late time I would now have to pay a $159 “emergency dispatch” fee that is non refundable. The original fee for the consultation was $69, yet because they were hours behind schedule they tried to charge me a ridiculous fee. That’s extremely poor customer service. I hate negative reviews and it honestly makes me feel bad to even write one, but that’s simply unacceptable.I was offered a time slot first thing the next morning for the original fee. I declined.

Luke was simply amazing. He let my 9 and 7 year old kids watch while he worked. He was polite and wonderful. He did great work and we are very happy he was able to come out the same day as our leak. Well done.

Representative was extremely nice, and did what he could to lower the price (senior discount) for installing 2 replacement ceiling fans, but the cost was WAY too expensive— $300 each!! By replacement I mean we were going to remove 2 - wiring therefore already there, and I had the new ones ready . No way. Had to pay $72 for his trip. When I told him I should have asked, he said I couldn’t have gotten a quote over the phone.

Professional and knowledgeable. The only reason why they didn't get 5 stars is do to the fact I was supposed to get a follow-up appointment to receive an estimate to replace my AC unit. That was not done on the spot nor has anyone contacted me to do so.

Jody Best did more than just good work. He explained what was going on, made sure I was completely satisfied with the results. As I said to him, I became the proverbial Happy Camper because of his work.

Came out the next morning after a late afternoon call the previous day. Luke quickly diagnosed the problem and solution (replace water fixtures for washer) and started the repair within 15 minutes of arriving. He did the job quickly and cleanly and helped finish hooking up the new washing machines

HVAC Tech Billy Cooper was terrific. He called prior and told me when he would arrive, was professional, patient, and extremely knowledgable. Billy answered all of my questions, and explained to me all aspects of the HVAC tune up and his findings. I found him to be honest, friendly, and a proficient HVAC professional.

Great job converting a 220 V outlet for an electric range into a quad socket 120 V outlet for our new gas range. We are on the Micheal & Son Gold plan and had Carlos out to do the annual house electrical inspection, and he was able to do this conversion at the same time. Thanks!

Contacted Company about a check and clean service. Had an issue with the billing. Contacted this company with my concerns and it was handled in a very professional and timely manner. Very satisfied. Will do business with them again.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Poor customer service, misdiagnosed,and over priced. My customer service experience was the worse I've ever had.Called M&S to locate and repair leak in a downstairs half bath. Josh, was helpful & professional, determined it was the toilet. He removed toilet and put it out on porch for $349 while I repair damaged floor. He informed me that they charged another $349 to return to reinstall toilet. Once I pulled floor up and dried areas, water continued to leak. The leak was actually coming from under the back wall of my kitchen pantry and water flowing into the bathroom, giving initial appearance it was toilet. I called M&J customer service to have plumber come back out. Scheduled appt for 4-6pm, CS called after 6 on scheduled day to let me know plumber went home sick. The customer service rep, Rita, was rude, argumentative, impatient, and accusatory. After explaining the toilet had been removed and water was still leaking from the pantry, not bathroom. She told me I caused the problem by installing floor around toilet. Finally, another technician came out, he flashed a flashlight & saw the water coming out from wall and proceeded to to tell me that the toilet was issue and water coming from the wall was residual water, instead of actually investigating the issue. He called restoration company to come out to give me estimate on repairing drywall. They confirmed it was not the toilet and no moisture in walls. He only detected water under the flooring.All said and done, I called another plumbing company who came out and actually narrowed down possible issues and figured out; it was my neighbor's water heater leaking into my unit.Called to speak to customer service manager about experience with Rita. I was transferred to an admin in CLT; then back to Rita. She laughed and again rude, nasty, and not helpful. Needless to say, I'm posting here because after several additional attempts to speak to manager, no luck.

He replaced the valves and lines behind my washer. He also replaced a cut off valve in my crawl space. I was very happy with the service

When I described the problem online and by phone I was quoted far lower pricing than when the service representative came to my home. Had I been quoted the same pricing I would NEVER have agreed to the service call. Now I am out the price of the service call and have received exactly no service. I feel 100% scammed. I am posting so that others will not fall for these unprofessional tactics.In addition, the service representative said we did not need to wear face coverings! This is not true, and a serious red flag for anyone entering our home.

Water line failed at meter on a weekend. Took the time to discuss options and explained what he needed to do before he began the process in spite of it being after midnight (very patient and courteous).Fixed the issue quickly and professionally. There was a mix up, Jesse called to apologize. Things happen. Appreciated his honesty. However, we were to receive a call informing us of another 4 day wait. No call. Asked to speak to a manager (Dave) message left but no call. Everything was handles through Jesse. Again he was great. Can't say much for a manager who can't call or email about a mix up. I spent $25k in January on 2 new ac units, a new furnace and a new hot water heater. The ac unit has had 3 service calls since then because it will not cool and still continues to not work. The second technician actually said it wasn’t working because my kids arts table was in front of a vent. I spent a small fortunate and cannot get a supervisor or anyone else to take care of this issue. They come out to fix it, it works a few days and then stops again. Absolutely a rip off and am beginning to believe they are a bunch of con artists who sell faulty equipment

Tore was awesome! Before calling Michael & Son I had been having plumbing problems for weeks, I had called a completely different company who didn't do anything to fix the problem. Tore immediately figured out my issue, and was very knowledgeable. He even showed me my main line which the previous company neglected to look for. It has only been a couple of days but so far so good.

We had a leak in our bathroom sink faucet, as well as some other minor plumbing issues, and Sheldon came out with Michael & Son. I'm leaving this review because Sheldon was great: professional, knowledgeable, efficient. He checked all of the plumbing, gave honest feedback about what was necessary to address immediately and then what issues needed attention but could wait. He fully explained everything to me, answered all of my questions, and made sure I was comfortable moving forward with each repair we discussed. I felt great about Sheldon taking care of my home. 1 Year old gas water heater leaking gas. Set appointment to be repaired. Explained that I live an hour away from this residence. After waiting an hour, called only to find out that they had no technician able to perform the work today. Was first told The technician had an emergency then was told previous job was taking longer than expected and was asked to wait until Monday. Was then told a manager “Brian” would call me. Poor customer service and apparently poor quality product to leak after one year.if I could give a negative rating, I would.

My water heater was leaking. I called Michael and Sons and got an appointment the same day. I received an email confirming the time and the name of the technician who would show up. They also included a picture. Fletcher came out, explain everything, and provided an upfront quote outlining the details. After a few quotes, I called Flectcher back to schedule an install appointment. He was on time and very professional. I am very happy with the service I received.

Michael & Son, Service Pro Dubois, were great. They had available to service my heating when I needed it. Mr. Dubois called to tell me when he would arrive. He wore shoe protectors to keep my house clean and even put protection on my carpet under the attic access. He performed his maintenance quickly and reported an honest assessment of my equipment. I will be sure to call Michael & Son again for home needs.

I had a great experience with Michael and Sons. I had some new homeowner small plumbing issues I needed to address. The service man came at the day/time requested, he was super friendly, courteous, and helpful and I felt safe with him in my home (as a woman). I told him I had just purchased the home and he took the time to be sure I knew where my main water shut off was in case of emergency, as well as answered all my plumbing questions since this is my first home.I will certainly use them again for any of my plumbing, electrical, or hvac needs. I did not feel like the guy or company tried to cheat or scam me into unneeded services. I highly recommend Michael and Sons.

My Rep name was Luke and he did a great job...I thought the rate was high but he explained all my options and even offered some upgraded things i could consider with the waterline & my hotwater heater. He also pack back the dirt in the area and the area he worked in look like nothing ever even happen in the area. He was very pleasant & respectful. I was impressed with Joe Moore who came to our house for a routine electrical inspection. He showed up exactly when he said he would. He identified the kind of wiring my home has, tested the outlets and made sure they did not present any hazards. He also checked the electrical panel for safety and recommended a whole house surge protector. We had water pressure loss at our house late one night, I never had well system before, but checked online with a bunch of sites and people to try to diagnose what was wrong. I worked on it until 1:00am and still couldn't get it to work. We called Micheal and son the next morning and talked with Kimberly, she was very helpful and nice with getting an appointment setup. We were able to schedule it for later the same day.The appointment was for between 4 and 8, and Chris T called me to let me know he was stuck in traffic, but would be there as soon as possible. He arrived at 4:45 and went right to work on diagnosing my problems. I was very fearful that I was going to need a new pressure tank, but Chris took me down to the crawlspace and showed me everything he was doing so I would understand what he was doing and what was wrong with the system. Within 5 minutes he was able to diagnose that the problem was not the tank or the switch. After that we went inside to the sink where the pressure was low and he showed me how the sinks had got clogged with dirt and sediment from the well. Turns out we have run the water for the pool too much and drain the well down too far. Chris then spent the next 10 minutes cleaning out all the spigots and outlets where the dinterview had accumulated. I felt really silly realizing this was the problem. Chris only charged me the service charge for coming out and nothing else.I am really happy that it wasn't anything worse than just clean the drains and very happy with the cost. I will definitely use Michael & son again and request Chris T. Thank you

Our AC went we had to have a part ordered. We were told our Tech would be back the next day once the part came in. And true to his word Ryan arrived when he said he would. He replaced the part. Reset our thermostats and I learned something about zone 1 and zone 2!. But thanks to Ryan my family and I will chilly once again! Great job thank you Ryan!!

Made an appointment between 12 and 2 Wednesday, 3/25/2020. They never showed. Got a call from the service tech at 6 pm Wednesday night telling me he could show up Thursday. He said I needed around six pounds of freon at around 90 dollars a pound. He also told me I should probably buy two new units because my current units were leaking freon. I didn't agree with him so I went ahead and hired a different company to get their opinion. They told me that my AC units looked fine and that most older units have slow leaks. I haven't put freon in my units for around three years and they were still half full. So I agreed with him They ended up charging me around 50 dollars a pound . They told me the AC's looked pretty good and there was no need to buy two new ones. I will NEVER call MIchael & Son Services again to service my heating and air systems.They are the type of company that tell you a bunch of negative things about your AC unit so that you will think you need to bbn purchase a new one. Don't fall into their trap. Call the Tin Man company out of Concord NC. . They charged me 367 dollars to replace six pounds of freon.

Called them out to clean my restaurant drain it was clogged up in main line. Man showed up pulled out minor debris from floor drain. Said your fixed 20 mins is all he was here charged me $400.00 and left. Had a event at the restaurant 2 days later about 50 people with the dishwasher and bathrooms being used sewage backed up nothing would drain. Called them back and told them what happened they state they would do a recall and send someone out the next day. So waited on them to come they never did had appointment for 10am. So I had to close my business down for the day so I lost that days business. So after 2 1/2 hours and a phone call to them I called someone else to come out they found a large stoppage in the main line cleared it 10 mins. So they packed up and left. Finally Micheal and sons showed up. I had already cancelled them coming out but I told him what was found he said my wife said was floor drain backing up I told it was but it was because the main line was clogged causing backup my wife would not know that but a plumber should have known that. I've requested all or atleast $200.00 dollars back due to them not getting the drain unclogged I will update if they reimburse me my money.**UPDATE **All they did was make excuses. No reimbursement said they would send someone back out a third time. But I already called someone else out that obviously knew what they were doing my drain is unclogged. So this company SUCKS DON'T USE THEM.

Buyer beware. I called this company because my hot water heater broke. A very nice and professional rep answered and told me it'd be $69 to have someone come out and take a look, which I thought was reasonable. When the tech showed up, he told me it would be over $300 just to look at the hot water heater and diagnose the problem. He said it would be an additional charge (on top of the $300) for any repairs that need to be made. Total scam. I paid the $70 fee just to avoid a confrontation but I got $0 value out of the whole experience, and am still without hot water. This company is a rip-off, don't waste your time.

Luke diagnosed our many plumbing problems, explained them clearly and spent all day fixing everything extremely well. He cleaned everything up, was very courteous and professional. My husband and I will definitely ask for him again for any future problems.

Joseph repaired my mother’s heating furnace today. My mother is in her 90’s so I was at her home today to oversee the work conducted on her furnace.Joseph is extremely competent, explains well and has a vibrant personality.Two service technicians (both from different companies) have attempted to fix my mother’s furnace (HVAC) system this week but were unable to do so. Both of these technicians recommended we replace our entire HVAC system.Joseph meticulously analyzed the wiring of our furnace, deduced its problems quickly & efficiently and repaired our furnace to perfection. I deeply admire Joseph’s truthfulness, honesty and integrity. Joseph saved us thousands of dollars because we do not need to buy a new HVAC system. Based on Joseph’s skills and truthfulness, when we do need a new system I’m delighted to write that we will buy that system from your company.I am 70 years old and I’ve worked with many technicians during my life who have repaired and fixed an enormous array of problems in my homes, as well as the homes of my relatives and friends. Joseph is clearly the best service technician with whom I have worked.If I owned a company, and Joseph worked for me, I would always do everything within my power to maintain him as an employee. I had to have one of my HVAC units replaced on the hottest day of the year so far and was very pleased with the installation. My installers were Danny and David from Michael and Sons in Charlotte. They arrived early in the morning and completed the installation quickly and efficiently. They were very thoughtful to be as quiet as possible while in the attic as I had a 6 month old baby sleeping much of the time. They went above and beyond my expectations to thoroughly explain their work and even called to check on a warranty for my old system. They also found and corrected some problems from the initial installation. Overall, very happy with my system and installation.I would also like to say that the technicians that came prior to installation also did a very good job. Travis Rife and Thomas Hollingsworth were both very professional and informative. Travis went especially out of his way to take a video in my attic to show me his findings while I tended to our son.

Hands down the best service I have ever experienced. Nate was extremely courteous and demonstrated a level of knowledge and professionalism that was above and beyond all expectations. Nate answered all of my questions, fixed my electrical problems, and was literally a pleasure to have in my home. I will no longer use this company!!In the past, I purchased a new system from Michael & Sons in 2016 and have contacted them for HVAC and plumbing services since. The new system was installed at my previous residence. I always get a 2nd and/or 3rd opinion before making large purchases, especially with regards to topics I am not familiar with. I have had no complaints with their company before. However, these last two visits have been a complete insult. I called Wednesday, August 28 to express my concerns with management and never got a return call. I called Friday, August 30 to follow up and was asked to (again) explain the reason for my call.In short, the solution to each visit is not a replacement system, nor does refrigerant cost $250-$350 per pound to replace. I'm interested to see what type of stock response will be attached to this review, considering I called twice before submitting this.Don't waste your time with this company.

Mark diagnosed my electrical issue quickly and replaced two breakers in the main panel. He was very personable and professional. Should another problem arise I'd call Michael&Son and ask for Mark to respond to my service call.

Michaels and Son’s plumbing came out to look at a dishwasher that was not draining. Carlos was sure to check all possible problems and though he was unable to fix it, I am now armed with the exact information for the next step in the repair.I would recommend this company to others and will not hesitate to contact them if another plumbing issue arises.

I replied to the person that responded to me, not a single word from them. I mean, am I on candid camera? I can’t trust these people with my house needs!!!Original postI'm on this site because honestly I don't know what else to do as the company is just flat out non responsive and my personal feelings is that they 120,000% just don't care about it. It's shocking as I am a new customer, so you would think I would get some responses to my inquiries. There are a lot of details, Michael & Sons is aware, so I will spare those details and just know I truly feel this is a one star experience. Below is summary:1) new customer during winter as hot water heater went out. first visit seemed promising and I signed up for the year service plan. issue returned. multiple issues occurred then on customer service. ended up going with a different vendor even though I had a new service plan.2) After this Michael & Son's complaint customer service reached out to me and stated how they really dropped the ball and what can they do to ensure I stay with them and not give up with my money back. I said well I do still need a long term trusted relationship for service so let's give it another go. I was told to contact the guy personally as he would ensure I got what was needed.3) I reached out to the guy via email in June. Did not hear back from his email. Took it as maybe he was on vacation or no longer employed. I did not receive an error message email or out of office from him.4) I took the zero response with a grain of salt and forwarded the email to their generic customer service email for insight and help. It's been 16 days since that follow up email and still zero response. So here I am, hopeless with where to go next, so BBB and Google is all I knew now.Please help me...

Friendly, prompt service. Even though we couldn't afford everything and had to chose what could be replaced, we were given options for the priority of repairs. Our new unit gets installed tomorrow! But instead of just a service call, I feel like we had a friend come over and visit. We will stick with Michael & Son from now on.

Jonathan let me know when he was close by (~30 min), when he and his Trainee (Josh I think) were polite and friendly the entire time they were in my home. They provided a safety check and suggested some appropriate equipment that could improve the safety of my home. Once that was done Jonathan got the work done promptly and professionally.

We discussed the job in detail and he got started right away. Garrett picked up the fan,thermostat as needed for the job. He made arrangements for a roof man to aid installation.Garrett is a total professional who restored our faith in how a service technician should conduct themselves. Fraud!! Beware!!! This company came to my home billed me 1400 dollars quoted me a repair and left my breaker box uncovered with wires exposed!!My outlets/light switches uncovered in the areas they where working in...a live wire across my upstairs hallway where my chihuahuas could have been injured.Said they needed to drill holes through my sheet rock in my attic down to my floor downstairs through my floors...then they said I was approved for enough credit to complete the repairs..as a single woman homeowner I authorized the work but thankfully no one came back for an entire month or called to check on the status of a follow up appointment ! Thankfully I had the foresight to get a second opinion from Mr Electric ..Who fixed all of my electrical issues for the same original quote no second 4000 dollar quote not including the damage they said they would make to my sheet rock they would be destroying but not repairing .Mr Electric unlike Michael and Sons (Jessie and another technician who stated Jessie was his boss)fixed my issue in in one day!! Michael and Sons came out three times!! And Mr Electric did not tear up any sheet rock and didn’t charge me 4000 dollars..Integrity is everything!! Buyer beware. If I could give you no stars and write a review I certainly would.

Steven came today to replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan and to wire a ceiling light and install a 2nd ceiling fan/light. He arrived promptly, provided me with 3 different quotes that offered different options such as nunber of control switches, then got to work.He cleaned up and even disposed of the boxes for me! I couldn't be happier with the work he did.This is my second time using Michael and sons....solid company providing quality service.

I am giving a 1 star rating for the services I never actually received. I needed a professional to just replace a broken light bulb on my 3rd story townhome as I am 7.5 months pregnant and cannot be climbing a ladder! I made the appointment a week ago, booked the earliest appointment that was available as I am closing on this townhome next week and need to make the necessary repair to comply with the inspection, and had to take the entire day off work due to the 4 hour time frame provided by Michael & Sons. I received a call this evening from their customer service to reschedule my appointment that was originally scheduled for tomorrow morning - not even a full days notice! The earliest they can reschedule is 7 days later and the customer service supervisor stated she was unable to do anything for me. If this company actually wanted to provide adequate customer service they would have offered to contract the work out to a local electrician to keep my future business. Instead I am now stuck searching for another professional in a much shorter time frame - all at my expense! Very disappointed and will not be using Michael & Sons in the future.

I received an estimate for a project but have not yet decided if I will proceed or not. The gentleman who came to my house to assess the job and provide the estimate was great. He was professional and friendly.

We called for a service quote on a Saturday to fix one of our hot water heaters. We were told both needed to be replaced, they were not repairable and that the new ones couldn’t be installed until Monday and the quote was nearly 8k. We got a second opinion from another company and the water heater was fixed by in 30 minutes for $165–turns out neither one had to be replaced.

Ryan Carter came to my home to repair my HVAC unit. He explained the problem with my system and showed me what the problems. Very patiently and thoroughly explained my options. I had to replace my old system. He and the team that installed the new system were friendly, respectful and professional. They made the whole process comfort making the best of and bad situation. I could not ask for anyone to treat me any better. I would not hesitate recommending them to my friends.

Such a rip off. Ridiculous fee for them to even come out and for us to tell them what the problem is. Wanted to charge us almost $1000 to replace a breaker even though he said he didn't know if that would fix the problem. We're out $73 now for nothing because of this company. Do not recommend.

Update: was told to email and I did but still havent heard anything from anyone at this company. bad business.I called to have my air unit cleaned and checked with their $50 special. they scheduled a date and came out only to tell me that my unit needed to be replaced and was leaking and almost completely out of the coolant. he explained that my only option was to replace the entire unit since that type of coolant is discontinued. he told me that someone would call me that day to come out to talk about pricing for a new unit. this call has still never came and that was almost 2 months ago. the guy that came out for the cleaning and check was there maybe a total of 10 minutes and left. I called another company and got some quotes and had them install my new unit less than a week after michael and sons initial appointment. when they installed the new unit they said there was a small leak but that it was almost completely full of collant and not at all empty. they said they had to drain it all out when they removed it and it was full. so I spent close to $7k on something that could have lasted me alot longer. I didnt even get a receipt or copies of anything while he was there. he said he would email it to me but never got my email address and I was so shook up about having to replace it that I didnt even think that they didnt have the address. they cost me so much money and now they wont call me back after I called them for a refund of this service that wasn't even performed. they did send me a copy of my receipt but said someone would call me back about my refund. no one has attempted to contact me at all. I just want my refund since they cost me so much money. I am very unhappy with them and I will never call them ever again. I do not recommend them to anyone and suggest anyone using them get a second opinion.

Luke was all professional but in a friendly way. He really knew what he was doing and explained everything. He did a great installation of a disposal and new faucet with larger diameter PVC pipes. It works and looks fantastic!

Michael and Sons sent an electrician to my house to diagnose problems with our backyard patio electrical. The prior home owners did not take good care of the home and we had issues ultimately leading to the entire power to our outdoor grill area, driveway lights and patio lights going out. The technician was amazing and spent several hours diagnosing the problem. The fix was complex, as in it took him several hours of work, but ultimately ended up only needing to replace one GFI and rewire some existing lights. His attitude was that he was going to figure out the problem rather than just throw his hands up. Have already recommended to a friend.Patrick

Michael & Son Charged $546 for 1.5 lbs of freon. That included the $49 service/diagnostic call. Called 3 other local companies while Michael & Son were here and was given prices ranging from $305.18 to $319.00 for same exact service + freon. Unfortunately he had already put freon in before I confronted him with prices. Gave him credit card to pay & he said declined. Wrote a check and contacted credit card company. Mastercard said I will have to go online and dispute AND cancel card & get new one!!!

Having just replaced my HVAC system (furnace and AC) this week unexpectedly, I have to say I really enjoyed working with Michael & Son. I recently bought my home and didn't know my HVAC systems. First, when I called after realizing my aged system was not functioning, I spoke to someone right away. They scheduled a service call for the same chilly day, and suggested a free plumbing inspection. Both people arrived as promised and called ahead of time. Getting options and real explanations from Ryan in person, on the phone and then during a furnace inspection of my second furnace was really helpful. He was informative and professional - really educated me on my system. The installation went great - Curtis was helpful and worked with my schedule. I recommend Michael & Son for their responsiveness, technical competence and professionalism.

These guys run a great business. I have had thousands of dollars in work done by them between multiple electrical, HVAC and plumbing projects and not once have I had a single issue with a technician, any service, or their billing department. Highly recommend.

Gary was very friendly and helpful. He figured out most of the problem and offered a couple of things I could do myself, to help keep the bill down. That is good business. I would recommend them.I would have liked for him to explore the drain pipe from the A/C unit above the bathroom where the clog was. Our plumbing would not be up to codes today, and it seems the drain from the sinks is connected to the A/C drain. I poured white vinegar, then Drano down the drainage pipe (in the attic), and the clog loosened. Might be a temporary fix, but saved some money for now. Still may have to get the pipes reconfigured some day.

I had a tech come out because I have a clogged line somewhere. One of my toilets is not flushing right. The tech did a tour of the crawl space and said some lines were leaking. Ok. What about the toilet not flushing right?He writes me up a proposal for 2 new toilets, and line repairs of $2400. I did not ask him for new toilets?? And he would not snake the line. And I paid him $80 for the visit. I called these people cause I thought the ads were credible, I may be wrong.I'll call my home warranty people and ask them to send someone.

Don’t even want to leave one star. Can’t leave any stars because I’m stunned by what just happened. Guy comes out timely and all We asked for a countertop to be cut with a sink install, faucet install, disposal and reconnect the dishwasher. Mind you we had all the pieces. His quote came in at over 3200 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2800 without cutting the hole out for the sink. 2800 to install 4 parts??????????? Not sure I can recommend Michael and Sons.

The only issue I had was that when I scheduled they gave me a price of $79 to clean and check the systems. When the tech was finished the price increase by $25. There was a little back and fourth about the pricing and I refused to pay anything other than what I was quoted. The tech said he could give me the service truck gift card and it would then bring me down to the $79. I didn't care for attempt to be deceived and I am certain that the tech was not responsible for the incorrect pricing. Other than that, everything went as planned

When the contractor came to our home and they looked at the project with would have been putting in a leak detecting system. After standing outside of their van for 20 mins they gave me an estimate of 500. Fine! Then after trying to get it scheduled and standing outside of their van for another 20 mins they said they were sorry the price would actually be 1,350! That’s a large jump in price esp since this ball valve will only take tops 30 mins and we were buying the part! Not impressed

Michael and sons customer service was great from 1st call.Gary came out the next morning which was Sunday and new years eve .no extra charge for Sunday or holiday. Fixed 3 toilets. Highly recommend. Continue to use service In spring for checkups on air conditioning. I'll ask for Gary . Thanks Gary for taking time to explain all my opinions and pricing before service.

Joe Moore with Michael & Son Svcs!! Joe did a whole house electrical review and was able to find issues with electrical panel we did not know about. He immediately worked on problems while also providing explanation of what he was doing and to make sure that I understood the process. Joe also checked the house for up-to-date smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and checked electrical performance of my dryer (which was not on my original request). He is a skilled electrician, very knowledgeable, very customer service oriented and beautiful personality.

The company was very responsive and the plumber that showed up, showed up on time and was very nice. I opted not to do the work at this moment because I felt the job was overpriced. I am not a plumber myself but I am a homeowner. The sink I have I paid less than $100 for last year. The sink included (2) stainless steel drains. My issue was the threads on my plastic trap assembly were stripped and the plastic trap needed replaced/replumbed. The quote included (2) stainless steel drains for my 1 yr old sink at $191/ea. Even if it were just 1 it is still twice as much as I paid for the sink at Home Depot. Even then I do not see how the threads on a stainless steel drain can be damaged by plastic threads on the trap. This made me think that the whole job was way overpriced so I just paid my $70 trip charge and declined the work.

AC went out, called several companies who were booked out a week. I figured M&S's would be expensive, but I called and turns out pricing is not bad and service is excellent. My repair man was professional, explained the problem, and answered all my questions. I went ahead and signed up for the gold plan. Highly recommend!

Before I selected an electrician, I decided to go to Google and look at all the reviews. To date, I believe that Michael and Son had a 4.6 out of 5 stars, so, of course, I decided to give the company a call. Joe, the electrician, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He quoted me a price and he was ready to start the work on my ceiling fans. Joe also told me about other programs such as HVAC and plumbing service that the company offers-- I believe I will be looking into these services in the near future . My ceiling fans look great and I have already recommended Michael and Son to my family and friends.

It's great to see drivers for this company whipping through Charlotte with zero regard for other people on the road and nearly causing accidents! Have repeatedly seen this companies vans blow stop signs and lights and completely disregard the safety of others on the road or people walking through. I have water coming through the wall in my basement. The plumber that came out told me he was unable to verify the water source.... okay that’s fine. I understand sometimes a water source is difficult to determine. But my insurance company has been trying to get a report on his findings for over a week now and no one will return the call. The adjuster is calling daily as well as myself. Meanwhile the damage in my basement is getting worse. Just an FYI... he came out on the 28th of August today is September 10th.

We have been trying to get a hold of the service manager for 3 days now. We replaced 1 full HVAC system and 1 AC unit with this company not even 4 months ago. When they came to replace a warranty party on one of the units all of sudden both of my gas regulators are leaking gas which is now a safety issue. It cost me $600 to fix this. I find this very odd this was not included in the original quotes when we replaced one of the furnaces or even looked at when the Heating Inspection was performed not even 2 weeks ago by your tech. I find it really hard to believe that both gas regulators on 2 separate units would go out at the same exact time. If you are replacing units that are over 17 years you should check the main connection that gas goes through to heat the furnace. I can not believe this was not given to us as a option when we replaced the units. After spending over 10k with you guys this is the kind of work we get. I am very unhappy with this company. I am even considering not extended any future service plans with you because we shouldn't be spending that kind of money after replacing the systems with you in less than 4months ago.12/14/2017 at 1:35pm - We received a call from Maurice with Michael and Son Services. He handled our issue with a full refund. I hate we had to go to the extremes of posting reviews on social media to get this resolved quickly. I will give them 3 stars. Hopefully we do not run into any more issues. I am going to leave this review above because I think potential customers need to know about other customers experiences. I hope they really get the communication issues under control.

This was my second visit from Michael & Son! On 08/16/2018 Work Order65040CLTThe problem was that the kitchen and living room had no lights, also the hallway and laundry room. The circuit breaker had tripped, I hope that I am using the proper words. What was causing it to trip? From Steven visit, he find that the hallway outlet and/or laundry light box, had wires to close! Steven was Excellent! He answered my questions and he explained what he had done and was doing to find the problem. He was a very nice person!On 07/09/2018, Work Order62763CLTMark had came because I had no power in the hallway outlet and to work the light in the laundry room, I had to turn on the lights in the hallway. Mark had everything working!!How can you blame the wires were to close to whoever built the house, when Mark was the last person working with it?

Tom and TK installed a furnace for us this morning. I was expecting a 4-5 hour job but they finished in a very short amount of time! I was impressed. They did a great job. They were very professional and did a great job cleaning up after the work. I've had great experiences with this company and Tom & TK just added to our satisfaction. Thank you for a great job!

Signed up for their whole home package. No one contacted for months. Had to track them back down. Was told I would get a refund. A month and a half later. I had to call. Got told that I would get contacted and yet again nothing. Finally called again a few weeks later. And now supposedly going to get my refund in 2-3 days. The woman could not give me a good reason why it’s taken so long or anything and clearly didn’t care. Pretty sad.

I have used Michael & Son Services for the past 2 years. We started using them in our previous home and now in our new home. We have bought, between both homes, a water heater, electrical lines running to outside playhouse, plumbing situation in new house, new HVAC system in old house. Dubois was very knowledgeable and patient with me. He took the time to explain to me the importance of changing out my filters as well as replacing them for me. I look forward to meeting with him again for him to work on my AC unit! I highly recommend him!

My A/C went out, late in the afternoon of 9/1/20. I called Michael & Son, and I was able to get an appointment the next morning. Mason arrived around 9am on 9/2/20. He was masked, booted and ready to go to work! He assessed the problem, came up with a solution and a few hours later, the problem was solved. Jonathan was awesome! He called 30 mins prior to arriving. He arrived with a matt for the porch to wipe his feet off and placed protective covers over his work boots before entering my home. He was professional and we had great conversation. He recommended some additional services, but was not pushy. Jonathan was fantastic all around.

Unfortunately bad experience with the company, did an appointment for a toilet repair, to be precise a faulty Flushmate water tank, the service man took a look at the toilet, didn't even try to fix anything or disassemble, said to wait 10 minutes for my estimates option. First option - to replace the water tank for $700, second to replace the whole toilet (that is 3 years old) for $1400 (why I'm the hell I need a new unit?!). In 3 second I made the decision I don't wanna hear anything else and I'm done with them. It's not proffesional to try and upsell somebody just to earn a huge amount of money (especially in the covid era), this is not the way to treat people and maybe future customers. Paid for the service call and goodbye.p.S. for the record, the part was $125 shipped and delivered in 3 days, 10 minutes on YouTube and another 15 for the whole replacement by myself, a pretty easy job.

I called today to get help with my plumbing issue. I have the Gold plan which comes with 24 hour service “which is what I thought” but apparently they do not take care for their customers a day before a holiday because no one is around the area. Therefore, I can’t get an evaluation done until Sunday. Now I have to deal with my walls leaking in multiple rooms and Not know where is it coming from. Now the only thing I can do is cut off my water the rest of the day and wait until Sunday to have this resolved because this is not an emergency according to the representative I spoke too. On top of that I don’t understand why I have to pay almost 300 dollars to have one person check the issue if I have come on a holiday but I called before July 4. I would appreciate if you would clarified to your customers that there’s a certain extent to the 24 hour service. I will most definitely not be renewing my plan and will finding a company that is actually worth paying thanks for valueless service.

Bryan is a phenomenal gentleman who went above and beyond to make sure my heating unit was working properly. He guided me step by step on what caused the problem and what he did to rectify the situation. He made sure all questions were answered as well. Great Job!! Thanks again for your hard work.

Ed McKinney was incredibly kind and explained things to me really well. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and was very knowledgeable about his trade. As soon as he diagnosed, he already started telling me a few ways he could fix it! Came back the next day, got it fixed, taught me about the process, and then we tested it! I so so appreciate Ed's hard work and how he was willing to walk me through what he was doing :)

This our 1st time using Michael & Son. Scott came out for a plumbing issue and did a great job. Couldn’t be happier. So impressed with the services we’ll be using them for a few other projects we want to tackle.

The technician, Mike, was knowledgeable, courteous, and very conscientious in trying to keep the rest of my home clean. He worked very hard for many hours. I'm hoping I will not need them again but, if I do, I would definitely call them.

Worst plumbing experience I have ever had, this company doesn´t stand behind their warranty. They can never be trusted to do what is promised after collecting your money. They change workers so frequently and blame the bad repair or installation on the workers who did the job and want to charge you again for the installation they warranty. They install a new stump pump and replace all my pipes include water heater almost $6K service, with 5 yrs warranty. My first service call problem with my stump pump first year into the installation, I was told the service man no longer work in the company, they clam there´s no record in their that I have a warranty, they will need to charge me for service call. Luck enough I have my copy of the contract. Send a repair man who claim the pump is sitting on dirty water that´s why itś not working. It will cost me $125 to clean the dirty water. I did not believe that, but I needed the basement dry, my washer and dryer are down there. The next heavy rain, stump pump still not working call again this time they agreed the pump is bad and was not install correctly. I said your company purchase and install this pump. They said if you want us to replace this pump it will cost you $3K+Stay away from this plumbing company they are highway robber and can not be trusted to stand by their repair or installation.

My technician Harry Shrum was wonderful. He was prompt and completed his job in exactly the time he predicted. He was courteous and polite. I would absolutely ask for him to complete another job if I have one in the future. Thanks Harry.

If I could give a ZERO I would! First, tech attempted to charge me more than was quoted for a service call. But that is not the worst part. The worst part is the tech stripped my wires so I would need to pay $900+ dollars to re do wore and install a Nest (only $400 if I wanted the company to wire a Honeywell). Price was too much. I told the tech I would think about it. The tech then stripped the wires (I had wired incorrectly) from the Honeywell, so I would not be able to hook up. I had to hire another tech to re do wiring, which worked before I hired M&S. I called to have a Manager call me on 7/3. Ten days later, I have not heard back. I left a complaint on FB, it was removed and blocked so can not respond. This is SHADY business practices at the highest level. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

I was told that there was a $69 fee to have the tech come out and the tech was very courteous, but the prices the company charges is outrageous. The only the tech said he was authorized to do was check the voltage of the ceiling fan and anything more than that would require level one diagnostic and that would be an additional $400. I could buy a new ceiling fan and install it myself for less than $400. I basically paid $73 for the tech to tell me that there was low voltage in the lightbulb socket. I will never be using this company again.

Michael & Son of Charlotte was FANTASTIC! Especially Thomas H. He was polite, efficient and knowledgeable. He pinpointed the issue and then quickly provided a resolution that we were able to understand.With Thomas H. personable ora, it hardly felt like a maintenance visit. I would recommend them to everyone!

I have not used Michael & Sons before but I will forever be a customer based on the excellent experience I just had with Mr Stephen Burleson... Stephen came to my home on time as promised! He professionally reviewed my request and displayed his knowledge of my electrical task- He was very thorough and answered all of my questions and concerns, and I will consider what he shared- - I am greatly impressed with Stephen and will ask again for him personally to assist my family- - thank you Stephen and Michael & Sons - Michele Krcmar
