If you don't like long reviews, the short form is: if you need electrical work done on your home, call On-Time Electrical. My experience with them was outstanding! Our house was built in 1979, and the electrical service capacity of houses built that long ago doesn't accommodate the addition of high-wattage microwave ovens, desktop computers, and high-def television sets. We have all of these. Our lights were dimming, outlets shutting off, depending on how many appliances we had in operation. It was obvious that we needed to ramp up our service capacity. After doing my research on what that would entail and the range of cost, I examined the local electricians available. The glowing consumer reviews for On-Time Electrical sold me. By the time I'd finished my research and decided on O-T. E., it was 1730 (5:30 p.m.) on a Monday. I sent O-T. E. an e-mail, not expecting an answer until the next morning. Instead, I was answered in five minutes! That was my first indication that I was dealing with a company a cut above the norm. I was caught unprepared for such a quick return and couldn't re-arrange my schedule to accommodate it when I was informed they could have a tech out the next day. Instead, the appointment was scheduled for the following Monday (02 March). The time of his arrival that day was open-ended, but the electrician, Mr. Arthur Spitzer, arrived pretty early, 0900. His examination of our circuit panels and exterior wiring confirmed that we needed to increase the house's service capacity. When can you do it, I asked Mr. Spitzer. Immediately, he replied. He provided the cost. It was within the range my research had indicated was typical. It was at the high end, but I want to stress: within a stated range of expense, one gets what one pays for. The kind of work you get for the low end of the range comes from your uncle's buddy who works part-time as a handyman.Mr. Spitzer went right to work. For some of it, he was joined by another electrician, Travis. It was a long day for both of them. But at 1730, they were done---at the quoted price. The new breaker box and panels and connections were fresh, sturdy, and tight. But that's only the beginning of the professionalism shown by Mr. Spitzer and O-T.E.Later that evening, our house started to exhibit a couple of the symptoms which had cause me to call for service in the first place. I wasn't sure what the issue was, but I sent an e-mail to O-T. E., stating that I still had problems. Early, and I mean, early, the next morning---the fellows in the trucks were probably still having their coffee---I got a very gracious and accommodating call promising an electrician back to our house that day. It turned out to be Mr. Spitzer and Travis. I was able to recreate the symptoms from the night before. They double- and triple-checked everything. They even examined my inexperienced layman's Do you think it could be this? suggestions. After two hours, they determined the cause of the problems---not from their installation, but due to related features of living in an old house. Moreover, they explained it to me so that even my lowly brain comprehended everything; I got a very good course in Electric 101. We also got a flaw in our kitchen wall switches repaired. The added cost? $0.Arthur Spitzer and Travis were the best professional tradesmen to ever perform work in our house. They were knowledgeable, educational, and professional. In terms of professionalism, technical knowledge, responsiveness, and business ethic, On-Time Electrical hit every high mark.
