I won't need to find a new electrician ever again. Everyone at GB is great, Lisa answers the phone with an infectious energy every time! Matt, my lead technician is thorough, detail oriented, and clearly takes a ton of pride in his work and it shows. He had help by AJ and Dawson who showed the same care and were great at working together to get the job done right. I feel safe in my home again. Thank you GB, and especially Matt.

Ed was dispatched to our house almost immediately after I called to schedule and showed up within an hour (if that). The estimate before the service was clear and after the service was complete, we adjusted the original estimate down to reflect the actual work without any hassle. I am confident in the quality of Ed’s work and will definitely call GB Electric with any future electrical work I might need!

Lisa at GB Electric saved us a bunch of time and money. First, we didn’t hire BG because we didn’t have to. I’d already talked to five other electricians before contacting GB. No one could help same day with a reasonable dispatch fee (the one who could was like $360 just to show up without any other work). Lisa listened to the problem and suggested we call Duke Power and ask them to check the “legs” of the power coming into our house. We called, Duke pinged our address and determined we were getting only half power. They sent someone out and it was fixed same day. Lisa saved us the GB $169 dispatch fee. She was knowledgeable, HONEST, and easy going. 10/10 will hire GB and Lisa if I need electric service. Very impressed.

Rudy and Matthew came out to our customer's home and ran network wires to extend thier wifi I was installing! They were fast and completed the job in same day that was expected to take a couple of days! Kept our project on schedule! Improved it visually with outdoor conduits and got the wires exactly where we needed them on a high end house making it better then it was before they got there! Thanks to all of GB Electric!

Called in on 3/28/23 at 10:38am and asked for a service call in mint hill, i was told that there would be a $69,00 call out fee. i asked how much was the diagnostic fee, she explained she didnt know which sounded strange to me. when the electrican arrived my tenant called and he told the tech to get approval from me. he calls and tells me he wants $369,00 plus the $74,00 without even knowing the problem. i paid them the $74,00 and told them to leave. the crazy thing about it all is you know something isn't right prior because you can feel it, i knew it but didnt go with my gut feelng. lesson learned. Daylight robbery is all i can call it. i called the office spoke to the same lady, told her that i knew i was going to get ripped off and i knew i shouldnt have used them and let them know got luck with the $74,00. Really bad experience.

A flooring company cut a wire and we had lost power on a few devices. GB was hired to come and repair the issue. Ryan was very professional, explained everything and cleaned up the electrical mess, drywall dust, and made it as clean as it was before he got there. He vacuumed up the mess and wiped down the floor as well. I would definitely Recommend GB Electrical for any work.

Had an electrical issue after the holiday power outages. GB Electrical provided prompt- same day service. Ryan was professional and incredibly informative about my issue. An hour later- everything is working properly again. THANKS for the great service!

Jay went above & beyond. He did a phenomenal job installing a new outdoor outlet for me & replacing an older one. Jay was respectful, informative & friendly. Complete waste of time and a TOTAL rip off. They will tell you it is a $69 fee to send someone out and then the electrician will give you an outrageously priced estimate for simple work (such as removing low voltage wires for $344 alone). They will not give you any pricing upfront. I ended up still paying $345 to have just one plug replaced and an old doorbell removed. Overly priced by far but I had already wasted 2 hours of my morning. Most of the time the electrician spent trying to upsell me to redevice my entire home, which costs over $8000 by the way. It was just laughable. 20 mins of work took up over 2 hours of time. And ironically enough the electricians van broke down in my driveway.

I had sent a very detailed email to the office manager regarding my experience and was told management would be in touch. Have I heard from them? Nope. Let’s see how quickly they respond to public reviews though.

Definitely go elsewhere unless you just have time and money to throw away. Do yourself and read the one star reviews and you will see a reoccurring theme. Wish I would have.

I called on a Friday and was able to get the guys scheduled for a Monday morning. They came on time, were careful with the job (2nd level foyer light and dining room fixture), and efficient. Overall it was a good experience and prices seem competitive with what I’d been quoted elsewhere.

Ed of Gb Electrical Service is outstanding. We needed to add 240V, 50 amp outlet in the garage. Unfortunately there was no empty slot in the distribution panel. Ed came over to our place for estimation and looked at the distribution panel, and he proposed us different manner than other provider which had proposed us to upgrade to new distribution panel. GBE’s proposal is about $10K less than the other’s. Ed saved us tons of money!
He and his team member are very nice and friendly. I would recommend them very much.

Ed and his apprentice ran a new service panel and disconnect to crawl space water heater. Also relocated a service switch for easier access. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it.

I was told when I booked it on the phone that there would be a $69 trip fee plus what they find when they get here. They arrived and told me about the trip fee and that the diagnostic fee is $469!! It would have been nice to know that up front. That is the BASIC diagnostic fee! The lady I booked it on the phone with surely knew that and they obviously don't tell people ahead of time. What happened to electricians just coming to the house and charging an hourly fee?? They ended up being here LESS than an hour! Our total cost was $569! Not happy with this company. Shop around and ask questions before booking someone. Next time I will book and independent electrician who just charges an hourly rate.
MY RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE: You are NOT upfront about the pricing!! You should at LEAST tell someone when they call what the diagnostic fees START at and it won't be lower than that amount and could be more based on what you have going on. Also, why do you send two electricians? They were done with my job in less than an hour. That's overkill and adds to the ridiculous cost. I should have looked further down the reviews, someone else complained about this same issue. And you should at least apply the $69 trip fee toward the job if a customer agrees to have the work done!!

Ryan was great. He reached out when he was on the way. He arrived early and took care of our issues within an hour! He was awesome.

Have lived in the area for 25 years and never had a go to electrician. Well, no more. GB Electrical is awesome. Ryan and Rudy arrived soon after I called GB Electrical, out of convenience. Ryan assessed the bathroom fan and vacuumed it since there was paint that had gotten inside since internal renovation in 2020. Ryan reported bathroom fan was safe and I could use, despite new sound and softer sound when on. Recommended to replace bathroom fan, since townhome was built in 1974. Instructed me to call back after purchasing bathroom fan, which I purchased per his recommendations: Nutone straight bathroom fan.

I'm so glad we called GB Electrical Services for an electrical issue regarding our dishwasher. Jay Smith was our technician, and he went above and beyond with his customer service. He was prompt, let me know when he was on the way, took precautions (wore a mask and foot covers the whole time), and was excellent at his job. He knew what the issue was right away, went over costs before doing any work, and made sure we were in agreement with his plan before executing it. Jay even helped with a canned light and answered multiple questions from my husband. He took his time, and made sure we knew what he did and why he did it. He also grounded our wires for safety and made us aware of an issue with our control panel. It was evident that Jay actually cared about us as a customer, and we would definitely use him again in the future! The house we moved into was wired for a gas dryer. My dryer had a 4 prong cord, and needed it changed. When I called, sweet representative called me back, told her the problem and she said she could send someone right away. Mr Bunch had to drill through the floor and did an amazing job. And his assistant was awesome too. I can now wash & dry my clothes, so glad I found this company, GB Electric ?

Recently we decided to have a generator and interlock switch installed to make it safe and easy to provide backup power to our entire house during a power outage. I work from home 2 days a week and it’s important for me to keep my power on. We also decided to install 2 lampposts along our driveway.
The first company I spoke with, who shall remain anonymous, emailed an estimate for just the home backup generator solution for $12,000.
That same week I had set up a similar meeting with GB Electrical Services. Immediately I knew I was dealing with a much more professional company from the way I was treated on the phone to set up the appointment to receiving text messages telling me the technician Ed Bunch was on his way. When Ed arrived, we went through the walkthrough of everything we wanted done. He listened closely and asked me questions to help him determine what type of solution would work best for me. He even asked about the types of things I needed power for including asking if I had plans to buy an electric car which would require a special charging outlet. Once we went through all our power needs, he took some time to go through all my existing wiring. He then concluded that he could reuse an existing breaker box that had at one time been used for a hot tub from a previous owner. He said he would switch that to the outlet that would be used to plug the generator into. He also said that if he could find an interlock switch that was made for my 22 year old electrical panel that it would save him from needing to install an external transfer switch.
The next day I received the estimate from the GB team. They were able to find the interlock switch that was made for my 22 year old electrical panel which saved me $1,400. The bottom line is the total was $8,000 less than the other electrician was going to charge me.
Ed returned to install the generator and brought his helper Nick with him. They treated my property with respect and even wore shoe covers when they entered the house. They were polite and worked quickly to complete the work. I actually ended up with LESS hardware on the back of our house when Ed swapped out the existing breaker box for the outlet to plug the generator into. The interlock switch fit perfectly into my existing electrical panel. When they were done, Ed then shut the main power switch off to simulate an outage and showed me step by step how to connect the generator and power the house back up. Ed was very patient while I asked many questions and wrote down all the steps he was teaching me.
A week later Ed came back to do the lampposts. He brought Dawson with him this time to assist. They spent the day in the pouring rain pulling wires and mounting the 2 lampposts. Dawson showed me the switch he and Ed were installing which was a Lutron Caseta wireless (Bluetooth) switch. I was impressed with the technology as it can resolve a lot of difficult wiring challenges along with not needing a lot of fishing wires through walls. I can even control it from my phone if I so choose.
They finished the job, tested everything and they showed me how to operate the system. They cleaned up everything and told me to expect the electrical inspector in the next few days who needs to sign off on the permit. The next morning the Union County Electrical Inspector showed up and inspected all of the work Ed, Dawson and Nick had completed. He went through everything and didn’t find a single concern and said they had done a good job. The inspector had never seen the Bluetooth power switch before and was interested enough to look it up online. He wanted to make sure it was UL Labs approved which it was. He signed off on the permit being finalized.
Bottom line is if you want someone to give you an honest complete evaluation of your electrical needs who will give you the best options while respecting your budget, ask for Ed Bunch at GB Electrical Services. I highly recommend him and the rest of the GB Team.

When our AC and hot water heater installers were installing our new units, they found the wiring faulty and could not do anything until the wiring was updated and repaired. The called GB Electrical and Jay Smith came out very quickly and evaluated the project and started to work immediately. He was quick and efficient and very pleasant to work with. His knowledge of the problem was amazing. He was a pleasure to work with and we will call GB Electrical (and ask for Jay) if we need further electrical work done. Best we have used in Charlotte. My girlfriend and I had a tree fall that took out our power line and meter pole.

After spending the entire morning looking for an electrician, we came across GB Electrical Services LLC! They were the only ones that could do Same Day Service in Charlotte, NC and didn’t try to charge us an arm and leg for the emergency service. (Really cool to note that GB Electrical sent a photo of the electrician that was stopping by along with his profile and that really made us feel at ease!)

With us being first-time home owners, Greg, Jay and Ed did a really great job explaining what needed to be fixed. They worked well into the night to ensure the job was complete in order for us to restore power. In addition to fixing the meter pole, they also fixed our service panel and installed ground wire! But after a small ceiling fan fire with our new house, my wife encouraged me to call GB and get some sound advice. I highly recommend using these guys! I called in need of a ceiling fan installation. First off, Lisa who took the call was incredibly kind and very helpful. She was able to schedule me exactly when I needed them. Mike originally came out and worked hard for a couple hours on what turned out to be a defective fan. No charge at all and was very professional and kind about the situation. Rescheduled after I bought a better fan, this time Ed came out on a Friday afternoon (with minimal notice in order to cover for a coworker that got a flat tire) and knocked it out very quickly. He did such a great job and even offered to vacuum. I will definitely use them in the future and greatly appreciate professionals I can trust.

This company is a scam 69 dollars for them to drive to the location and then 600 + just to tell you what the issue is actual repair is extra that is unreasonable for sure!! so here is how the story ends new electrician Not GB Electrical came by charged 69 which was taken off the entire job no 600 for a diagnosis just fixed the issue for 500 and did a great job this place is bait and switch for sure

I needed them to come look at an issue where I didn't have enough wire length to replace doorbell as some wire had snapped off when removing the old doorbell. They responded to my request promptly and looked at my problem in the next day.

The electricians that came were professional. Walked me through my options and completed the project to my satisfaction same day for a fair price.

I would definitely recommend their services in the future and will be a return customer if I have future electrical needs.

We had a fantastic experience with GB Electrical Services. Starting with the first call to request service, the receptionist was so friendly & helpful. Called her on the Monday before Thanksgiving and Jeriah B came to our house that Wednesday. We needed 2 ceiling fans replaced; 1 was up very high and the other needed the ceiling fan box replaced to hold the weight of the new fan properly. Jeriah knew just what to do. He did a thorough job and installed the fans successfully. We also had him replace our old smoke detectors with new ones, 8 in total. Very professional company. Will use their services again.

GB Electric installed hardwire circuit for a hot tub spa connection. The electricians Ed and Dawson who came out were professional and patient in explaining and working with the hot tub installers. Lisa in the office was thorough in explaining and scheduling appointments. I would highly suggest and use this business again and again.

This was my first time needing electrical services and this company exceeded my expectations. From the first phone call to the time the technicians left, it was quality service all around. Ms. Lisa the representative was polite and pleasant during the call. She made sure I received prompt same day service. The technicians Jay and Daron, were honest and had my best interest at heart. GB did an outstanding job for us in helping primarily to install an outlet and move cable to opposite side of room so we could mount our TV above the fireplace. GB Electrical Services has once again impressed me with their promptness, thoroughness, and quality of work. We had previously had an infloor outlet repaired by Lonny and had purchased a service plan for the year that included an electrical inspection of the house. We finally got around to requesting the inspection and they were able to schedule quickly around my schedule.

On the day of the inspection Daron arrived on time, wore a mask, and even gave me a bottle of hand sanitizer. After explaining the process he got right to work. He managed to correct a couple of small issue as he was going through the inspection and then explained any potential concerns as he found them. At the end of the inspection he provided me with a detailed list of his findings, what potential problems existed, and the recommended corrections.

I chose to complete several of the suggestions and Daron was able to start right then and complete them the same day. I'm incredibly happy with the quality of service and work that GB has provided so far. All of their employees have been polite, knowledgeable, and just pleasent to deal with. I will be using them for any future electrical work and highly recommend them.

I was really impressed with GB. They sent an electrician out the next day to inspect and write a quote to rewire the circuit for our electric cooktop. Needed to be upgraded from 30 to 50 amps. Juan was professional, and he and his colleague completed the upgrade a couple of days later. Did not take them very long and they minimized the number of holes they cut out for access. They also left the area clean so no clean up was necessary. All in all they did a great job technically and on terms of service. Highly recommended!

We recently purchased a home in Locust and wanted to update several light fixtures. We especially like how this company texts a photo of the electrician prior to his arrival. Jon Lane is professional, friendly and loves his job—he offered suggestions as to how we could improve the lighting in several of our rooms. While on-site, he provided us with a quote and, for the upgrades we want to do, the quote is very reasonable. Our forever home will be made even more enjoyable once our lighting upgrades are complete. Ed and Darren did a great job and cleaned up after themselves, threw away the boxes, installed two TVs and hid cords. Such nice fellas. Very polite and even wore shoe booties! They even helped me by hanging my vacuum on the wall which kept falling over. Great service and have used GB electric for many things. Will continue.

Daren and Jay were on time, very professional, and very courteous. The quote they gave was in the general ballpark we were expecting (diagnose and repair problems with a ceiling fan, a bathroom light fixture, and run some speaker wire from the wall where our entertainment center sits to the locations where the rear speakers are mounted). They wound up being here most of the day, but they stayed until the job was done, and charged exactly what they quoted us at the start. They also wore their masks the entire time they were inside the house, which we appreciate.

We had used GB in the past with great service and pricing. However, after they recently restructured, I feel like they are just out to get your money. At the time of making the appointment, I was informed there was a dispatch fee of $70. It was a new pricing they started. I agreed to it. The problem we were seeing was that we had flickering lights in certain rooms of our house that started recently. Lonny showed up the next day and informed me that on top of the $70 dispatch fee, there was a diagnostic fee of anywhere between around $200-$500. He couldn’t tell me exactly how much until he went through the house. This is also not including to actually fix the problem. I felt this to be a little deceiving since he was already here and I was already paying the $70 dispatch fee and I was never told about the additional diagnostic fee until he was in my house. Lonny couldn’t figure out what was wrong and why our lights were flickering. He said Duke power is sending us fluctuating power and suggested we get a whole house surge protector which he would return in a few days to install. In the mean time, I called Duke Energy and told them about the problem. They sent a tech out within the hour and found the exact problem we were having. A part in our box outside was corroding. The tech showed me the problem and it was literally sparking. They had to shut the power off for our house cause it was a fire hazard. I had to call Lonny back to the house since I couldn’t get any other electrician out right away. Duke energy had to stay close by the house the entire time and oversee the entire process so they can restore our power. Lonny apologized for his oversight of not checking the box when he should’ve. I’m a little disappointed in the whole process. I felt the pricing to be unfair and deceiving and the fact that they couldn’t find the issue to be concerning. The situation could have caused an electrical fire at our house.

Our hot tub was causing the GFCI breaker to trip and shut down, I need an electrician to look at this ASAP due to the freezing temperatures we have been experiencing lately.

When Tropical Storm Zeta came through on Thursday, October 29th, a massive willow oak limb came down behind our house, taking down the power line and internet cable. The force of the limb falling, ripped our meter box completely off the back of our house. Having no electricity, we lost the food that was in our refrigerator and freezer, had no lights, and no way to charge our phones. We got a recommendation to call GB Electrical Services, as they were available for weekend repairs. We called and were able to quickly schedule an appointment for them to come out that next morning, Saturday at 9:30 AM. We were sent a text ahead of time to expect Daron Patrea from GB Electrical. The text had a photo, so we would know who to expect. Daron showed up right at 9:30 AM, assessed the damage, gave us an estimate of cost and then got to work right away. Part of the way through the job, Daron let me know that Lonnie, another GB Electrical employee would be showing up to drop off some parts. Lonnie did show up and then stayed to help Daron out to get the work done. They were both very professional, got everything done quickly and did an excellent job. Daron cleaned everything up before leaving and we were able to pay with our card on-site and have the paid invoice e-mailed to us for our records. Both Lonnie and Daron were very friendly and explained what they were doing while they were working. They got our power on again quickly and the inspector came out later and verified everything looked good. We certainly recommend GB Electrical, and specifically Daron and Lonnie, for any of your residential electrical needs.

A tree fell on our power line, pulling the power meter box away from the wall and all the wiring. We were in a tricky situation (having a 95 year old under hospice care here at the house), GB electrical was fantastic! They came out to assess the situation, then came back within an hour or so after calling after the utility company had to shut off power ( due to a tree on the line, it was unsafe) jay and all the guys worked a long time to insure we could get power back on as soon as possible. Then actually called the power company on our behalf to make sure we could be connected after hours. Really great people to work with!

I called because of a wall outlet that started smoking and had to be shut off at the breaker. I called for assistance with a poorly installed ceiling fan (a handyman didnt know what he was doing) and installing a new thermostat. We lost power to a room late Wednesday night and I emailed GB Electrical after finding them online and they replied quickly even though it was after 10pm and said they would have someone out the next morning. My house was hit by lightning and damaged several circuits, appliances, and electronic items. They determined that I had to replace 2 blown 20 amp breakers and 1 blown 30 amp breaker including every fused receptical in the house. They also repaired some ceiling connections and also gave me a sense that my house was safe again. They also took an inventory of everything that no longer worked for my insurance company to help me with my claim. They were very knowledgeable of what to do and will not hesitate to recommend them to others.

The electrician Lonny was great. He arrived on time, he explained what he was going to do after I described my situation and he explained GB electric pricing which seemed fair and I will be calling them for future electrical services. Lonny was very thorough and efficient with his work.

Jay showed up on time and took a look at my junction box for my cooktop. The previous owner was an amateur DIY electrician and Jay was able to bring the junction box up to code and have it looking the way it should. I feel much better, and safer, about using our new cooktop after the work he did. He also took a look at some other projects that I mentioned and gave me an estimate for when I want to move forward.

GB Electrical installed several outdoor lights, and a large number of outlets in the garage of our new home, including a large 220V outlet for large equipment. This was done both in the walls, as well as running conduit on the walls. Let me just say that I really appreciate the clean and precise work they performed. I thought their installation job is top notch, and would not hesitate recommending them at all!

Emergency call out when sideing contractor put a nail into our breaker box. They where able to come right out and were very professional. Had replacement equipment on truck and where able to restore my power same day. Technician was great, he worked his butt of in the sweltering heat until issue was resolved. The address he went too is a rental house. I am 45 minutes to an hour away. I have not talked to my tenant, But I assume everything went well. I was very happy with the quick response in getting heat for my tenant and explaining to my tenant how he can prevent the issue from happening again. 6 months ago we had GB Electrical add two 20 amp circuits to our garage and install a transfer switch for our emergency generator. They were on time, professionally done TO CODE, and at a fair price. So we didn’t hesitate to contract with them this past week to add an exterior outlet at the rear of our backyard. It involved some trenching. Same fast response, fair price, quality work. My recommendation? Don’t try to find the bottom dollar contractor. Find yourself a dependable, quality contractor and stick with them. For electrical, mine is GB Electrical.

Egregiously expensive. They gave us a quote for a rewire of an $1,200 sq ft home that was upwards of $23,000. Every other company was below $10,000 at the higher end. I have no idea hat on earth goes into their pricing (my neighbor paid them $3,000 for a meter box replacement while mine was only $1700.)
