Best Solar Panel Installation in Phoenix AZ

This is an interesting review to write as there were many things about working with PEP Solar that were great.., and a couple others that were not. Their Sales Rep (Dallas) was instrumental in getting us to choose them in the first place. His ability to explain the options, process, financial advantages and disadvantages, and in general helping us to understand the current state of Solar in the state was impressive. We had been thinking about Solar for a long time.., but were frequently unable to get comfortable with the basics. (5⭐️)

Once we signed the contract… they try to use an automated system called Bodhi to communicate status. It is a complete waste of time and or resources. It provides no usable information and adds confusion to the process. (0 ⭐️)

We eventually reached back out to Dallas to get status updates.., and he referred us to someone else. Maybe because they think their automated system works they appear to have no single point of contact for the project. I assume David was that person, but it was not clear until close to the end of the project. Over the course of several months I heard from a number of people when I would have inquiries. None were clear about their role. And… if you call the number you get an answering machine that never identifies who you are leaving a message for… it gives you a 4 digit number that is never referenced anywhere else… so it is very disconcerting to leave a message when it feels as if it is going into a black hole. (3 ⭐️).

We originally thought this was an 8 week process. In reality with the City, APS, and PEP Solar in the mix… it was actually closer to 5 months. We signed in July, with an install the last week of Dec. It also cost us an additional $4600 because we found out if we didn’t move our wall to the back of the property line, we would have to pay an additional $10,000 to move the electrical panel so that APS would have unrestricted access. This was above and beyond the $5000 we were quoted for upgrading the electrical panel from 200 to 400 amp service (which is not required for all Solar projects). To me it seems like even though they indicated this was an APS requirement, it seems like something they should have known and been able to communicate at the time of signing the contract so there would be no surprises.

We would definitely still choose PEP Solar and would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends. We just would give them a couple of “things to expect or watch for”.

We should know within a few months if the system is sized correctly to offset the majority of our electric bill from APS which is what we are trying to achieve.

Oh, were to start. The beginning I guess. The salesman, although knowledgeable about what he's selling and initially polite, there seems to be a fall off on the quality of service follow-up after the papers are signed. Also be extremely cautious of offers. We were told that after financing our package, we would have no payments for 15 months, to allow us to file our taxes and use to tax credit money to pay down the loan. Nope, two months after the panel install is complete your 1st payment is due.
The major problem was the half truths, such as when they send you the panel design on your roof and have you review it and sign off on the panel design and placement. So you do. Then 2 months later they show up and want to install a couple of meter boxes on the front of your house, four feet up the wall. And then say, well you approved it. Then when you look at the panel layout plan again. They draw your attention to the two black dots on the plans on the front of your house, although there is no explanation as to what they represent, you are now informed that that's the boxes. When you ask why can't they just go to the side of the house, they inform you that because you have APS for your electric provider, and they require 24/7/365 access to the meter and it can't be behind the gate. So if your gate is within 4ft of the front of your home, you guessed it you either have 2 nice meter boxes mounted onto the front of your house or you're paying upwards of $600-$1200 to move it back 4-5 ft. (if your HOA allows it). If you are fortunate enough to have SRP, this doesn't apply, as they don't have this rule. The kicker is that the company who sold you the system doesn't care, why? Because...you've already signed the contract.
Lastly, it's only fair to be honest, although I'm not overly happy with how somethings went down after the sale. The lady who does the scheduling for the work to be done was excellent. The young man who came to the house for the install work was top notch. If he had just done his job, I would be the unhappy owner of those 2 metal boxes on the front of my house. So, thank you again for letting me know before you just started drilling. If the company was as good as these two people, it would be in better hands.

Great and very professional solar installers. They are great at what they do. The boys clean the roof when they leave. They're kind.

Overall very happy with the experience using Rooftop Solar, after just finishing installing a 12.6kW system in Phoenix. Everyone was great to talk to, happy to answer questions, and was upfront (and accurate) about the timeline for the process from start to finish. The sales process also didn't feel high-pressure like some of the other companies we got estimates from, which I really appreciated; they let us go at our own pace making the decision, and Dale was great about answering follow-up questions. The only small issue was there were a couple small details where we were told one thing during the sales process (regarding gate access and what size system our current circuit box would support), then got a different answer when we were going forward with the actual site review for the install. The adjustments needed because of this weren't anything major, but there was no reason not to have had the accurate information from the start. Even with that small hiccup though, I would definitely use them in the future if we ever need solar at a different house!

I have a $116.00 credit on my power bill this month. Universal designed, installed and monitored my system. They are professional and go above and beyond to make sure I know everything about my solar energy system. They walked me through the paper work required by my power company and celebrated with me when my system was turned on/ commissioned.

Update:
After completing first year still very happy with Aneva solar.System is functioning well and production of Kilowatt energy was exactly amount they predicted. Follow up on my questions during the year was done quickly. Post instillation service is excellent, they didn't forget me after the sale. Hard to find a business like this these days.

Aneva Solar provided clear understandable explanation of solar energy and their products. I received a detailed estimate that was accurate and easy to understand. They use the highest quality products (from my research). Job was completed on time and after using the system for few months it is flawless. One thing that impressed me was Aneva's well trreated employees who were professional and well trained, This may seem silly but I noticed their trucks were very clean, it tells you a lot about a company who has pride in their own equipment and treats employees well. Simply the best.

Tom Buehler has been very helpful to my business. In addition to setting up the electrical systems for my shop, he has been instrumental in keeping it up and running.

Since my business is dependent on keeping printing machines running, he has been very responsive in getting onsite as quickly as possible to diagnose and resolve any issue with the least amount of down town.

We were in absolute shock when we found out how much it was going to cost to remove and replace out solar panels to have our roof repaired. A friend recommended Solar Fix and they did not disappoint. Austin was also very cordial and professional. He inspected my roof post installation and made sure everything looked good post installation and went through how to utilize the app to monitor the solar production and usage.

Sunlight Energy Systems, Inc. are the best! I had odd electrical short outs in my house and they found and fixed them all!!! They are very safety conscious with their work. They spent hours at my house and I was concerned about how expensive the work was going to be. What they charged was WAY BELOW what I expected!! They are very good at what they do and affordable! I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing electrical work!!!

Came on a weekend with very little notice to fix an electrical problem so we could use our laundry dryer. Did not charge a surcharge for it being a weekend and fixed the problem quickly and affordably. Basically a perfect service call!

Do NOT use this company. The AZ Registrar of Contractors License #296373 for this company Universal Security (DBA Sun Pro Solar) status is REVOKED - and has been since October 2020. My last attempts to contact them because of another inverter failure - twice in 2 years since install - via phone/text/email/web form/voicemail have ALL gone unanswered. I can only surmise that this company is either out of business, or in the process of going out of business. I was happy with their consultation and system installation 2 years ago - but I guess things change fast in this business?
