WOW... I had done a lot of research with solar companies and this is the one I went with. I am so happy with their quality of work and every thing that was included with my install. They really treated me like family and if you just give me them a call for a quote, I am sure you will have a great feeling about them too.
Just have to add to this review. Over a year and a half later and their customer support is awesome.

Because my solar setup was purchased by a previous homeowner and installed by an out of business contractor, I had a difficult time finding anyone that would return my call for an inverter replacement (even though listed as service companies on the manufacturer website). Universal was the only company that acted like they wanted to help and got my inverter replaced under warranty. Communication was great from the office, replacement was quick, and they handled everything with the manufacturer so I can see the production info on the app. I’d highly recommend Universal. Thank you!

I loved my experience with Universal Solar! From the get go they were very professional and easy to work with. Getting solar panels on my house was a bit of a process with obtaining permits and the utilities etc, but they handled every step-from sales through installation. I was impressed by the technology they use to project over the course of the year how much sun will hit each part of the roof to help decide if and where to get panels. They also have different financial options and help navigate what's best investment for you. And there are currently major tax benefits! Feels like a smart investment mixed with a really great feeling, knowing that the power I use in my house and to charge my electric car. Thanks!

I don't usually give reviews, but these folks absolutely deserve one. They replaced my Solar Panel Inverter Cell Modem with hardwired connection to my router. They were ontime, fast, courteous, and professional. Can't say enough good about them.

I have had solar panels installed from them for over year now and am very happy with the cost. Also you get a app that tells you how much your panels are are making. Eugene the owner was very helpful with every thing. Its a small local company so give them a chance.

Inquired online for a quote for off grid solar for a property I own 3.5 hours away. The day before they emailed me and I responded can we reschedule?there will be snow in that area I’m saying this because of the owner may not have a vehicle equipped to go back to my property in the snow and mud. They called me to confirm I said there is suppose to be snow in that area. I do not know if the owner (Eugene) will have an issue with the mud and snow and this is rocky hilly terrain. I was thinking of rescheduling. The appointment setter said “he’s got a truck 4 wheel drive it’s no problem he likes different projects like yours” (referring to my organic poultry and swine operation) she follows up With a statement I will get in contact with him and make sure. Never heard back from her leaving me to think ok he had no problem with the conditions.

I head to the site visit at the discussed meeting location I call the front desk to let them know I am running 10 mins late they give me Eugenes number. I call Eugene and leave a voicemail saying I will be 10 mins late. No response I text him again saying there is a accident on the interstate and it was making me run late. No response. I waited at the location for roughly 45 minutes.

I then call back to the front desk and she transfers me to a sales manager who says “they were suppose to give you a call back and it fell through the cracks I have handled it I apologize there was some confusion about the site visit” he proceeded to say we could do the quote at a more convienant location that was easier for me. I declined and asked for the quote over the phone. Eugene never responded with a courteous call or anything. If they can not even communicate properly on a site visit I would not use them on any project. Communication was at a minimum with my experience. I personally will not be using this company.

Attached are the pictures with a time stamp and date. Your Receptionist was the one who gave me the number for Eugene. If the number is wrong I would suggest you have a meeting on how to communicate internally for staff to have/provide the most up to date contact information for potential customers.

What is your next excuse for your companies incompetence on this matter?

I was looking for a solar panel installer in the Phoenix area and had 5 different companies give me their estimate. Their price was very similar but only Universal and their representative Alan went out of their way to explain everything to me in great detail so I decided to go with them, so far this is the best investment I have made in my home and my future. I ended up installing a 8 Kw system and my bill went down to almost zero! I went with the black frame panels and they blend in perfectly. I am happy to know that I can contribute to doing the right thing for the environment and at the same time save money on my electric bill.

Justin came by our home to replace the inverter for our solar panels. It was a surprise because we weren't expecting this service. With a call to Eugene, his boss, everything was resolved perfectly and the inverter was replaced. We appreciate their diligence, professionalism and excellent customer service.

I ordered Solar from them on Feb 16, 2021 and till date (June 22, 2021) they have not installed it. To top it all there has been no proper communication. I have had to mail over and over and then they sent some excuse. The project manager Angela said she will copy me on all approval mails but I haven't received any mail from her as well. Overall their pricing and offers were great but I don't think they stand behind their words. Once you sign you are done and dusted and they don't care . Really disappointed that I selected them.

Update: Sept 15 and my panels are not yet functioning. My loan payments have started and now I have to pay both APS and Solar. They had promised some cash back but I have been emailing them but no reply at all.

Update : Sep 17 and finally my solar panels are up and running however haven't received the promised Cashback as of Oct 7. Still mailing them for the same and I get lame excuses.

Update: Nov 4 and still haven't received the promised cash back. I am going to file a consumer complaint against them.

Update: Dec 1: I got the promised cash back.

Eugene got ahold of me about a week or so ago and has been working with me ever since and has gotten the ball rolling with our solar. I'm really happy and satisfied with Eugene's work and effort to make sure we get a good experience. Today he contacted me to let me know APS has approved us and we are almost there. I give this review a 4 star as I still had some issues in the start and to receive 5 start rating on any review, experience has to be second to none.

I went through Universal to have solar put on my house. My representative, Alan was amazing!! He took the time to explain the process and how everything worked. He is very knowledgeable and truly cares about helping his customers. He is extremely efficient and always responds quickly. Shortly after having the panels installed, my bill started to dramatically drop. I would highly recommend them and especially Alan if you're considering going solar.

I would give it 10 stars if I could! Many thanks to Jon and Alan for making this whole project not only simple for me but FUN to DO!! From the initial financial analysis through design they looked at all options and opportunities to make sure all the numbers worked out in my favor. Then Brian managed the final designs, install and worked with the city to cover all bases. All went 100% smooth and I am really happy with the performance of the system. I would highly recommend anyone with to contact Universal Solar Direct and at least run through the numbers to see how fast a system can pay for itself.

I am a retired electrical engineer. I am picky about details. They are a very professional company with the installation of my solar power system with battery backup. They did a very clean and neat compact installation of electrical equipment. Solar array turned out to be very inconspicuous on the roof. I recommend them highly.
UPDATE: I reported a case to SolarEdge of EMI/RFI with my amateur radio and they responded quickly to remedy the Interference issue. Very professional in their response. Universal Solar Direct provided their team to rework the installation with guidance from SolarEdge Engineering. The result drastically reduced the Interference but it still needs some tweaks.

The five star is for Alan (Universal solar direct representative). Alan was very friendly, patient and respectful. He took his time to explain all details including how tax credit works for us. Thank you very much, Alan.

Great products and knowledge base with the guys at Universal. They were able to work around my roof issues as well as identify any potential issues with my existing electrical system. I had all my questions answered timely and and they kept me posted about status of permits and any other items related to my install. Installers were awesome as well!

The staff members were very down to earth and easy to talk to. My friend referred me and said that it was a smart move financially, saved money and installation wasn't a pocket breaker. Many of my neighbors have gotten it done and continue to as they move in. The company is great and very accommodating, can't say anything negative they did their job and did it well.

We have been really satisfied since we had our solar system installed six months ago. The Universal people were all very attentive and addressed our demands and questions. This is a local business that will work with you. Who wouldn't like getting negative electric bills, while entirely offsetting your gasoline cost with the sun?

I have a $116.00 credit on my power bill this month. Universal designed, installed and monitored my system. They are professional and go above and beyond to make sure I know everything about my solar energy system. They walked me through the paper work required by my power company and celebrated with me when my system was turned on/ commissioned.

They lied about my interest I looked into it and my payment is going to go up every year after there 9 year 0 interest which it was already included. At a 4.9 interest.

Had 26 panels placed on my roof and also a battery backup system, install was 1 day and I couldn’t be happier
