Initially got called out for problems going on with the thermostat. Turns out it was a small connection it wasn’t touching and a mounting problem. So simple, should anything arise again I want these folks to come out. Everything was awesome

We were referred to Mark, owner of Cactus Mechanical, through a mutual friend when soliciting several bids to replace two 3-ton split-gas A/C systems in our 15-year-old home. Mark is one of the most down-to-earth, honest, and patient A/C contractors you’ll ever have the pleasure of working with. Their “best pricing first” is fair (not so cheap that you’ll think he’s cutting corners, but not sticker-shock high either), the equipment options are a great value (they use the sister brands of major labels that come with the same quality without the brand-name markups), and he’s proud of the fact that he pays his guys well to ensure they stick around.
When bidding on the job, he also identified a common installation problem from the home builder and offered to correct it during the replacement, improving airflow to a couple of hot rooms. Beyond that, he didn’t pad the invoice with unwanted thermostats, maintenance contracts, or high-end systems that offered poor ROI for the time we expect to remain in this home. Because his distributor’s pricing improved during the bid process, he was able to revise the quote and pass some significant savings onto us.

When the time came for install, one of the two outdoor units arrived at his shop slightly damaged by a forklift. He was quick to let us know and gave us the option of splitting the install or doing it all at once. We took the option to replace one of the two systems which were inoperative to ensure we’d be comfortable as the spring temperatures were forecasted to climb, then replace the other system a week later when it arrived at his distributor.

For the actual install, from start to finish, his crew was efficient and performed quality workmanship. Each of the two 3-ton split gas A/C and furnace systems we replaced in our home were removed and replaced in an average of 4 hours each, including puling new thermostat wire to my two ecobee 4 thermostats to properly support two-stage operation (not the easiest job since the wire wasn’t readily accessible). From initial contact to job completion, Mark personally kept us in the loop with scheduling, equipment delivery status, and work completion times, and I never once felt uncomfortable or “in the dark” with the work or what was going on. Every install requires photos to add to the customer file to ensure the job was done right the first time. He was onsite at the start of the first job, and the completion of the second.

I would highly recommend considering Cactus Mechanical for any residential and commercial HVAC job in the valley (they do a lot of radio and cellular tower cooling systems too). You won’t be disappointed!

B3 was sent out as the first contractor on an AC home warranty claim. They thoroughly assessed the issue and notified us that we most likely had a Freon leak, but would need to come back the next day to do some tests. Tim came out the second day and gave it to me straight. We had a leak in the coil and the costs of repair would be substantial considering the age and type of unit we had. The home warranty tried to delay everything and made our experience a nightmare, but Tim was in constant contact with me the entire time. After deciding to take a payout from the home warranty to buy a new unit, B3 was the easy choice. We were able to get a great deal on a new 16 seer 3.5 ton Train unit and the install took just over 4 hours. So far everything has worked perfectly and the home cools exponentially faster compared to the old unit. Couldn’t be happier with our decision. Tim is the guy you want to speak to and will make you confident in your buying choice.

I recently had the pleasure of working with ACA to replace three 20-year old HVAC systems in my house. From the start I can say this was an enjoyable experience. From meeting the owner Troy (who lives about 1/2 mile away and is a real nice guy), to working with Samantha in their office and witnessing the quality of the technicians’ work (Phil and Eric) I am duly impressed. The project was scheduled and orchestrated like clockwork with delivery and trash pickup trucks timed to come and go perfectly. The installation itself is very clean and looks great, and when completed the job site was spit-shined to a T. Phil is a very contentious worker that methodically worked through the project and explained all the steps along the way in as much detail as I wanted. I highly recommend ACA and look forward to enjoying my new HVAC units - it is great to know that we now have quality equipment in place at a very competitive price, from a quality company that will be around to back up their work. Our heater quit working in February 2021. Our home warranty company sent Velox to repair it. There was a snafu in ordering the blower motor and Velox and the home warranty company fought for months over who should order and pay for the part, all the while they and the home warranty company we're telling us the part was unavailable due to covid shutdowns. Meanwhile we were without heat and then A/C. May came around and it started getting hot and still no repair. At this point Velox had quit returning our calls. When it hit 90 degrees in our house one afternoon I finally called a local contractor who came out the same afternoon and by the end of the day had ordered our part from their supplier, also local. Within a week our heat and A/C were working. Now Velox keeps sending my wife texts saying we owe them $150 for a service call in February, a call we paid $75 for per our home warranty contract. We cannot get in touch with Velox to get this straightened out. They won't return our texts, emails or phone calls and every time we call, regardless of the time of day, their answering service picks up.

The service tech was on time. In uniform and looked well out together. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes and completed the repair quickly. He seemed to have alot of knowledge in the AC field. I'd recommend SMW for any related AC services. Great job
