I called Ivan when my water heater stopped working. He found out the problem, called the manufacturer as it was still under warranty and ordered the part that broke. He was knowledgeable, reliable and quick to help even when the small repair turned into replacing the whole tank instead. His prices were also very reasonable. Initially hired to fix my dryer that wasn’t turning on, also ended up unclogging dryer vent. George was very nice, and did a good job. Pricing was fair. Will be calling them back at least once a year to clean out lint from vents.

I had used Barrett for about 14 years at 4 residences. I was very satisfied, but the last 3 years or so they consistently tell me I need things replaced that they have replaced themselves a few months prior on the same 5 year old unit. One year I paid nearly $1000 in repairs and replacements. The next year nearly $600. This year they said I needed to replace several of the parts I just replaced last year. Additionally, I would have to go buy the parts and make another appointment for them to replace. Oh, and they never gave me a quote. Said I would get a call. Never did.

Mechanical Technologies believes the installation of two mini-split systems in my barn is complete. But it's not. Yet they keeping asking me to post a review.

Yes, the mini-splits have been installed however the circuit breakers were not the right type. Power flows only because the panel cover is pressing on the breakers. The breakers cannot be fully snapped in place. I'm uncomfortable leaving the mini-splits on continuously unattended.

Yes, Mechanical Technologies showed imagination in how the inside units were mounted in an all steel barn. And how they ran the refrigerant and electrical lines that hid them mostly from view. However, the insulation on the refrigerant lines was shredded in places and I don't know how this will affect efficiency.

Yes, the outside units are sort of fastened to the ground but even with my prodding not mounted in a way that I have confidence high winds won't take them away. They were willing to replace the original outside unit pads that are the same size as the outside units with something much larger that could be staked to the ground. Even so, the pads are just concrete looking foam. Hardly any weight to them. Hince the reason I wanted them staked down. But they are foam and easily breakable.

Yes, the mini-splits have been running continuously while I evaluate their ability to cool my barn. Even without adequate insulation (correction by next project), the mini-splits have made a big difference in temperature. However, I need the breakers replaced and need an explanation why one unit stopped cooling for a few hours (no way temperature reached the target).

Yes, I have contacted Mechanical Tecnologies several times and they say I will hear from them but haven't so far.

Have water valve outside that was leaking. Plumber said $375.00 to $475.00 to replace and would call office for exact price. On phone told office prices he quoted and immediately office states $475.00 would be price. When I declined I was told I owed $65.00 for them coming out. While I was writing check price for valve dropped to $308.00. I Gave them a check for 65.00 All this company wants is money.

Waited all day for them to show up. When they arrived it was 2 teenage kids doing the job and their “manager” was their dad. They used my tools to do the “job” and they couldn’t even figure out how to put anything back. They “found” a leak behind my wall and when we tore the wall up there was no leak. They will not refund my money at all and all they say is they will come and look. They’re also running under different names for services and didn’t mention that they do no refunds when called. Also they only take cash or cash app. Don’t ever call them for help. Save your money, they are a joke and just scam people.

I had used them many times and they keep getting more expensive with same poor attitude and customer service. PLUS I would think they would give you a little bit of a break on the price after so many years, but no, if anything they're higher and just as rude. My husband and I tired of it and we're going to look elsewhere now. Competition is the name of the game so we're going to price shop.
