*Edit. After 16 months, a major and expensive pump selected and installed by Baethke failed completely. They did not seem to offer any type of price break on fixing it or even diagnosing the issue. They offered to do the work, for a price I thought was insane considering how quickly the work they already did had needed another fixing. This was on TOP of a broken gasket my husband had to replace in the shower they'd 'fixed' a few months before. I've learned my lesson - a more expensive price is no guarantee of better or longer-lasting work. The plumber we now use (First Chicago) gives us a 3-year gurantee on parts & labor and FAR lower prices. Felt sick over this one.

We like to do our own home improvement, so I was apprehensive about hiring a contractor. He was courteous, knowledgable, efficient..
This was a multi-faceted job, including drain cleaning, toilet replacement, shower repair, and sink upgrades, and the different parts were all done so well that I have already hired them for another large upgrade on my old plumbing system. This was in stark contrast to other plumbers that didn't even reply, or were difficult to deal with. I would recommend John Baethke & Son Plumbing to anyone looking for quality work.
I'd also like to thank the company for getting vaccinated! That issue was addressed immediately, and without my even having to ask about it, which I really appreciated. They obviously prioritize the safety of their clients, and I'm grateful for that.

We received excellent service from Roto Rooter! They were able to diagnose the problem and clearly explain to me the work that needed to be performed. They were flexible working with older plumbing pieces in our house to make sure everything is now running smoothly.

Replaced leaky valve on radiator. Great, professional service. Showed up right at the beginning of the quoted time window, got the job done fast and without issue. would recommend.

I called Apex to request help with low water pressure, they came by and gave an assessment and identified the issue as needing a pressure pump, about $4000. I trusted their assessment and spent an additional $1000 to get electrical wired to support the pump. At the end of the project, the water pressure wasn’t fixed. They then came by again and said it was the pipe issue and it couldn’t be fixed with a pressure pump, that I had already paid for and installed. They would not take any returns nor any credits for their work or incorrect assessment. I messaged them about this and it was ignored. Extremely disappointed and out $5000 for nothing.

John installed a brand new water heater for me as my old one was starting to show it's age with all the rust and water leakage at the bottom. John explained to me how the discoloration was rust at the bottom of the tank. Sediment was building up, causing the metal to rust from the inside. His price to install a new water heater was fair and the installation and work was clean! Thank you John! I'll definitely be using this business again!

Bad service. I called on February 1st around 6:30AM because a pipe froze and cracked. I shut off the water line and called Apex. The lady said someone would be over. Around 8:30AM I called again to make sure someone would still show up and the lady said I would receive a call from the plumber 30 minutes prior arriving. It's been already over a week and NEVER got a response. I got it fix the same day but now I know I can't rely on this company.

I got two quotes to replace an old metal drum trap underneath the shower and Psp Plumbing was 55% lower than their competitor's price. Both companies said the job was 2-4 hours. Psp Plumbing was able to give a quote based on photos sent, gave a certificate of insurance, gave their company W-9, and offered flexible financing all before starting any work.

The replacement was completed the right way and within 2 hours. They arrived on time, professionally dressed, had all the correct parts, and removed all trash before they left. They also noticed and took the time to bring to my attention other plumbing violations and explained clearly the hazard associated.

After our DIY renovation required more plumbing work than we expected, we called Tony on a Saturday morning to give us an estimate on what it would take to get our project back on track. Tony made time that very afternoon. He gave us a detailed overview of what was required, including options that would keep our kitchen up to code and was able to come back the following Monday to complete the work. Tony is also a licensed electrician and agreed to take care of some electrical work, saving us the time and energy finding another person to help with our project. I contacted a number of plumbing services to repair the leak in my kitchen sink, but received few responses or an excessive wait time. I contacted Mike thru a recommendation on Nextdoor Ashburn. He immediately responded. We set an appointment for an estimate. He called prior to his arrival and arrived on time. Once onsite he quickly assessed the problem and quoted a price that was far more reasonable that the other quotes I received. He started the work and informed me the part needed that he had on his truck was too small. He quickly obtained the necessary part from the hardware store. Upon returning he soon finished the job. In checking and showing me his work he noticed a small drip and corrected it. I am extremely pleased with his professionalism, his timeliness, his attention to detail and his keeping me apprised of the project issues, as well as, his pricing. I have added his business card to my home services contacts for any future services or recommendations.

Amazing!!!! Not only did Captain Rooter clear out my root infestation that every other company couldn’t do and said that I need a clean out installation and dig up my yard cause the cutter opening was to small and couldn’t clear out line ! Then the Captain Came out and suggested that hydro jetting would clear out line and the roots and I wouldn’t have to dig up anything , So... ok. Let see if this is true , long be hold 2 hours later clean as a whistle they showed me with the camera before and after I was impressed and saved me Thousands on top of that !!!! The real deal hydro jetting saved the day!!! you learn something new every day thanks guys!!

My water heater was leaking so I went through my home insurance to make a claim. Home insurance sends out these clowns. 4S plumbing reports back to my insurance that the water heater needs to be replaced and that I need $415 in other parts not covered by the insurance company. I wasn’t there when the new water heater got installed. They did replace the water heater but also made out with $415.
The tech told me the $415 was for labor. Scammers.
The insurance covers the labor. All I should of payed was the deductible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
If you do read good reviews it’s probably them that are writing them.

If possible, please avoid this company like the plague. They have no sense of professionalism or courtesy. We have dealt with them on multiple occasions before and actually had to hire a different group of plumbers to assess the situation. We have them the information of where we were told the leak was by a group that can actually do their jobs.They completely disregarded our comments and continued to do whatever work they deemed “correct”. We are only using them because the home owners association is forcing us to even though they have not been able to solve this problem for the past year and a half. They also just destroyed our entire shower wall because they are still unable to find the problem. 0/10
